The Unconvincing Turtle Titan
It was a clear moonlit night and two figures, one with a red cape and green shield, the other dressed in all white, ran across the rooftops.
"Before you say anything, you haven't come across the wrong story. That is in fact me and Mikey running across the rooftops."
The pair soon stopped to look up at the sky.
Along with the cape, Mikey wore a cowl that covered most of his head, a brown glove on his right arm and a matching pair of boots as well a grappling hook attached to his belt.
Alex wore an all white ninja uniform with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, with a matching headband and wore black shoulder, elbow and knee pads, as well as white fingerless gloves. He too had a grappling hook attached to a belt.
The reason the pair looked up into the sky was because there was a figure flying until they hovered with the moon behind them. The figure was a tall and muscular African American wearing a white and blue uniform, including a cape and headband covering his eyes.
"That just so happens to be a real life superhero named Silver Sentry. And whether he knows it or not, we are here to help him."
Silver Sentry then flew off and both Alex and Mikey grabbed their grappling hooks and spun them until they threw them at a couple of billboard headlights, which they wrapped around, and then swung from one building to another.
"Naturally, you'd think earthbound individuals like me and Mikey would have trouble keeping up with someone that can soar through the sky like a bird of prey."
The pair ran across some more buildings as Silver Sentry flew right past them.
They soon stopped on a rooftop when they saw the river in front of them.
"And you'd be right."
The pair then watched Silver Sentry fly across the river.
On a random street in the city, a manhole cover was lifted open and Leo jumped out, followed by Raph, then Alex, Donnie and Mikey, all jumping over a car quietly and hiding in the shadows
"Remember, the purpose of this training exercise is to master the way of invisibility." Leo reminded his brothers quietly as they gathered by a corner.
They then ran down the street, maintaining invisibility in the shadows as they did so, Raph jumping over a car and Leo jumping over a newspaper stand.
"Haven't you noticed how much safer the streets are since we put the smackdown on that Shredder dude?" Mikey asked his brothers as they continued running down the street. "Looks like we really accomplished something for the greater good."
His brothers turned to him and laughed at his choice of words.
"Greater good? Puh-lease." Leo waved off.
"What? Are you running for office?" Donnie joked.
"Or perhaps to be chief of police?" Alex added with a snort.
"Get over yourself already." Raph said once they stopped laughing.
"Fine. Make fun. But I still think we could be doing a whole lot more to help people." Mikey retorted when his brothers started laughing again.
They all stopped laughing, however, when they all heard police sirens approaching, and so they all hid in an alleyway just as a police car drove by. They all then peeked from behind a dumpster and decided to see where it was going.
They ran across rooftops until they found where the police car went: a burning apartment building where the Fire Department was busy trying to put the fire out.
All five brothers looked on with concern, with Alex and Mikey seeing that a young girl was trapped on the top floor, who was crying and looking down at her parents on the ground, terrified and worried for their child.
"Oh, no!" The father said as he and his wife were held back by a couple of firefighters.
"You've gotta stay back!" One of the firefighters demanded the pair.
"Hey, look! We gotta help that kid!" Mikey said as the girl was coughing from the smoke. He was about to jump off to help her, but Leo stopped him.
"Hang on! The Fire Department's got it covered." He reminded him. "Besides, we'd get spotted."
Meanwhile, Alex, Donnie and Raph looked up at the sky and saw something.
"But, we could -"
"It's covered, Mikey, thanks to him." Alex cut Mikey off, pointing up at the sky, where he and Leo saw what their brothers saw.
A figure flew in and then hovered in front of the full moon. Alex and Mikey knew who it was, considering the figure is a tall and muscular African American man wearing a white and blue costume with a cape and headband that covered his eyes.
"Wow." Mikey gasped in awe before the figure flew towards the burning building and carried the young girl out of the window. "It's really him. The Silver Sentry."
Where the girl once was exploded as Silver Sentry landed on the street, putting the girl down as her parents ran to her.
"Mommy! Daddy!" The girl cried in joy as she leapt into their arms.
"My baby!" The mother said with utter relief that her child was okay.
"Oh, you're safe." The father sighed right before the building exploded some more.
"Stand back!" Silver Sentry told the firefighters and the crowd before he took off in the air, took a very deep breath and then blew an extremely powerful gust of air that extinguished the fire, which had everyone on the ground cheering before he flew off past Alex and the Turtles.
"See? Now that's what I'm talking about." Mikey said as Leo walked off. "There's a guy who doesn't have to stick to the shadows. And look what he's able to do."
The rest of his brothers walked off to join Leo while Mikey started thinking.
"Hey, that's it! We should become superheroes!" He suggested, making his brothers look at him in disbelief.
"Exqueeze me?" Donnie exclaimed.
"Yeah, yeah! Go on nightly patrols. Thwart crimes. Help the helpless. Rescue the… rescueless." Mikey explained.
Upon hearing this, Alex could see where Mikey was coming from. The five of them do technically do that, though in secret. It may not actually hurt to try being superheroes.
"I think you've got your mask on too tight, Mikey. The oxygen's not making it to your brain." Donnie mocked as they all walked to the nearby fire escape.
"Don't you get it? We'd have secret identities to protect ourselves. We could work out in the open." Mikey reasoned as Donnie and then Raph jumped off the roof.
"Reading way too many comic books, Mikey." Leo shrugged him off before joining his brothers.
Mikey's head hung low, disappointed that they didn't accept his suggestion with open arms.
Alex, feeling bad for Mikey, patted his arm.
"Don't let them get you down, Mikey." He tried to comfort him, to which Mikey looked at him gratefully, seeing that one of his brothers wasn't making fun of him.
The two then jumped after their brothers.
The five made it to the lair, where they're now in the middle of a training session by Splinter, all sitting with their shells, and back in Alex's case, to him on the training mat. The only light in the lair came from a few candles.
"The two greatest weapons at the ninja's disposal are placement and surprise. Tonight, we perfect a move that utilises both." Splinter told his sons before turning to Leo. "Leonardo, Invisible Flying Dragon!"
Leo stood and turned to face Splinter, who spun his walking stick. He bowed and leapt over his sensei when he charged at him, twirling in midair before landing and bowing to him.
"Raphael!" Splinter called out before trying to stab Raph, who jumped over him with a flip, landing on both feet and then bowing to him.
"Alexander!" Splinter called out, trying to swipe at his human son, who spun over him and landed on one foot before bowing to his master.
"Donatello!" He then called. Donnie charged at Splinter and flipped over him, landing gracefully on his feet.
"Michelangelo!" Splinter called out, yet Mikey didn't get up, as he was more concerned about drawing in his sketchbook.
"Michelangelo." Splinter sternly said before whacking his son's shoulder.
"Yow!" Mikey groaned.
"What are you doing?" Splinter demanded.
"Uh, nothing." Mikey replied, hiding the sketchbook behind him.
"Oh, yeah, let me see." Raph grinned as he snatched the sketchbook out of Mikey's hand.
"Hey! Give it back!" Mikey whined, trying to reach for the book, but Raph kept it over his head, out of Mikey's reach, laughing as he did so, tossing from hand to hand.
"Keep away!" Donnie cheered as Raph tossed the book to him, who then passed it back to Raph, who cheered "Keep it away!"
"Come on, guys! That's not funny!" Mikey groaned when Raph tossed the book. As Mikey was about to grab it, Leo barged in and caught it himself.
Alex meanwhile stood to the sidelines, shaking his head. He does make fun of Mikey and his brothers, but never to this extreme.
"Hey, check this out." Leo grinned as he opened the book to where Mikey was sketching. Donnie and Raph were on either side of him and saw a sketch of all five brothers as superheroes.
"What is that? The Ninjustice League?" Raph inquired mockingly.
"More like the Shelltastic Five." Donnie chuckled.
"The Legion of Sewer Heroes!" Leo joked before all three laughed, making Alex shake his head even more, glaring at them.
"Well, hardy har!" Mikey snapped at them, making them stop laughing as he walked towards them. "Even our level headed leader gets a funny in!"
"You're not really serious about this superhero gig, are you?" Leo asked seriously as he held up the drawing while Splinter stood by them.
"Why not?" Mikey retorted as he snatched the book back. "Superheroes never have to hold back because they're scared someone's gonna see them. And wouldn't it be nice to get a little credit for the good we do?"
"Your intentions are noble, Michelangelo. But you must never forget who you are. You are ninja! You operate in the shadows." Splinter reminded them.
"But can't we accomplish so much more out in the open?" Mikey asked.
"There are many paths, my son. You must choose the one that is true to yourself." Splinter advised him. "Now let us return to our training." He walked over to his other three turtle sons as Mikey looked down at his sketchbook.
"Sorry, Sensei. I gotta get out and clear my head." He said, walking over to the elevator, leaving Alex to look on with concern for him.
As the elevator closed behind Mikey, Alex knew where his priorities were at the moment.
"I'll go and talk with Mikey." He informed everyone, walking to the elevator.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa! You're actually agreeing with him?" Leo asked in disbelief.
"I didn't say that!" Alex turned on his brothers with a frown. "You three shouldn't have made fun of him for having a hope and dream, which we all have, no matter how ridiculous they may be!"
"Oh, yeah? And what's yours? To be an Elf?" Raph mocked, referring to his love of Middle-Earth.
"No!" Alex snapped at them. "It's to have everyone up top not see all of you as freaks and monsters and accept you like April and Casey do! I know it's not possible, but is it wrong for me to even hope for that for a moment?"
That left his brothers and Splinter to stay in shameful silence as Alex turned to the elevator.
Alex stepped out of the elevator and into the warehouse, where he found Mikey sitting on a desk.
"Here to make fun of me, too?" Mikey asked coolly as Alex approached him.
"No, if anything, I think you're in the right for once." Alex shook his head as he sat next to him.
"Really? You actually think it's a good idea?" Mikey asked, overjoyed to have Alex side with him.
"Overall, yeah. You shouldn't be made fun of for having a passion like this. And it wouldn't really hurt to give being a superhero a try. I can join your side if you want." Alex said, wrapping an arm around Mikey's shoulders.
"Oh, you're the best, bro!" Mikey grinned, giving Alex a hug, which he returned before they parted. "So, how do we get to be superheroes?"
"Well, we already have the secret origin story and secret lair down." Alex pointed out.
"Exactly." Mikey grinned and they fist bumped. "Step two, cool mode of transport."
They looked over at both the Battle Shell and Shell Cycle.
"I think they're too limited. Plus, Raph would pummel us if we used his Shell Cycle." Alex shook his head.
"I agree." Mikey nodded before he noticed some rope and grappling hooks at the foot of the desk. "These will do nicely."
"Even more so since we're ninjas." Alex agreed with him as they grabbed the rope and hooks.
Later, the pair were up on a skyscraper, looking out at the city.
"Step three, go out on patrol." Mikey said before they heard a woman screaming. They looked to see that some street punk stole a woman's purse.
"Stop! Thief! Stop!" She cried out as the punk ran away.
Alex and Mikey spun their grappling hooks and threw them at a TV antenna. They then swung down and grabbed the punk in between themselves.
"That bag really clashes with the outfit, buddy." Alex remarked before he and Mikey threw him into a bin, dropping the purse as well.
The antenna then snapped and the two fell. Mikey crashed with the antenna falling on top of him while Alex landed on all fours gracefully.
"Okay, so I lose points for style and you gain ten." Mikey groaned as he removed the antenna.
"Either way, we stopped the punk." Alex reassured him as they got up and walked over to the punk.
"Fair point. Now for the sweet expression of thanks from a grateful stranger." Mikey replied as he grabbed the purse and they walked over to the woman.
"Here's your purse, lady. No need to thank -"
The woman growled and swatted her bag at Mikey.
"Hey, he got you your purse back, woman! What's wrong with you?" Alex protected Mikey by blocking her bag.
"Just keep that freak away from me!" She replied as she ran off.
" - us." Mikey finished his sentence, crestfallen.
"Honestly, we did something good and her first reaction is to hit you. This is why I question people's sanity." Alex shook his head as Mikey looked at a reflection of himself in a window.
"Step four, work on an appearance that doesn't instantly freak out the people you're trying to protect." Mikey said.
"Yeah. I was actually thinking you'd need a costume to make yourself look heroic." Alex shrugged.
"And if I'm gonna get a costume, then so do you." Mikey grinned.
"As long as I get to decide what my costume is." Alex said, setting his condition.
"No problem, bro." Mikey grinned.
The two made their way to 2nd Time Around and explained to April what they were planning on.
"So then it dawned on us. If you wanna act like a superhero, you gotta look like a superhero," Mikey said as April looked at the drawing he made earlier.
"Be honest, do you think it's lame?" Alex asked April.
"No, not at all. I think you should follow your dream." April encouraged Mikey, making him grin.
"You do?" Mikey asked, because having Alex side with him was good enough, but also April? That would be great.
"We just gotta find the right look for you both." April replied.
And so Alex and Mikey got behind a pair of changing stations. Alex would stay in his the whole time while Mikey tried on different outfits and had April judge them.
The first was armour of a mediaeval knight.
"Nah, too cumbersome." April told him.
Next was a combo of a cape, top hat and a vest.
"Too formal." April nearly chuckled.
Then it was a red sweater with a lightning bolt in the middle and a blue and black mask covering his face.
"Too mugger." April cringed.
"Hang on! I think I got it!" Mikey said eagerly as he changed into one more outfit. "Introducing Turtle Titan!"
Out he came with a red cowl and cape, connected by a piece on his plastron with the initials 'TT', brown knee high boots, a brown glove on his left hand that reached to his elbow and a green shield with the design of a turtle shell.
"Hmm, not bad." April admitted, thinking that it suited Mikey really well. "Alex, you done yet?"
"Just about." Alex replied. "Introducing the White Dragon."
He stepped out, dressed in an all white ninja uniform with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, white fingerless gloves, a white headband and black shoulder, elbow and knee pads. He then turned around and revealed a white symbol of a oriental dragon on the back of the uniform, outlined in black to make it stand out.
"Dude, you look awesome!" Mikey praised him.
"You think so?" Alex asked hopefully.
"Yeah, you look incredible." April agreed with Mikey.
"Thanks." Alex grinned.
So, with their costumes and superhero identities, Alex and Mikey ended up on a rooftop, watching the streets for any crime that needs to be undone when they car horns honking nearby.
They ran over to another rooftop to see that, for some reason, a man with glowing yellow eyes stood in the middle of an intersection with various cars honking their horns for him to move, yet he didn't even acknowledge them. And some vehicles were driving past the man.
"There's something wrong with him. And we need to get him out of there." Alex frowned.
"Definitely. This looks like a job for Turtle Titan and the White Dragon." Mikey agreed with him.
They pulled out their grappling hooks and threw them at another building.
A truck driver was eating a burger when he noticed the man standing in the middle of the road and pumped on the brakes, but wouldn't be able to stop the vehicle in time, though Mikey and Alex swung in, grabbing the man, lifting him off before the truck could hit him.
"Never fear, Turtle Titan is -" Mikey said, but stopped when he crashed on the pavement and rolled up to an alleyway while Alex rolled and got to his knees.
And Mikey's grappling hook fell on his head while Alex's fell in front of him. "OW!"
"Hey, you alright?" Alex asked the man, but he didn't reply until he rubbed his head and his eyes stopped glowing yellow. "Are you alright, sir?"
The man looked up at Alex and Mikey.
"Who are you? What's going on?" The man asked frantically.
"Calm down. For some reason, you stood in the middle of the road and nearly got hit by a truck." Alex explained to him. "Me and Turtle Titan saved you from being run over."
The man looked at him and Mikey, initially scared by the latter's appearance, but when hearing that he too saved his life, he calmed down.
"Thank you! Thank you both! I gotta get back home! My mom would be worried sick!" The man said gratefully before he ran off.
"That went well." Mikey said as he tied his grappling hook back up.
"Best to explain the situation right away unless you want him to freak out." Alex shrugged as he tied his hook back up as well.
The pair were on a different rooftop and kept scouting for more crime or innocents getting in harm's way.
"Why were his eyes glowing?" Mikey asked Alex
"I don't know. If I had to guess, someone must be testing some kind mind control device or power." Alex theorised, considering what he knew from reading the comics Mikey let him read.
They would've kept guessing if they soon didn't hear the sound of glass shattering nearby. They looked down from the rooftop to see someone breaking into a store called Crazy Manny's, entering through the shop window.
"A good old fashioned robbery." Mikey said eagerly, punching his fist. "Now that's more like it."
"Let's just deal with him before things get worse." Alex told him before they spun their grappling hooks and threw them at the opposite building.
Inside the shop, the individual that broke in opened the cash register and started putting money into the bag he was holding, his eyes glowing yellow as his top half was in shadow.
Then both Alex and Mikey burst in through the door.
"Beware, evildoers, Turtle Titan and the White Dragon are in the house!" Mikey announced as he threw his cape back, yet the man just kept putting money in the bag.
"His eyes are glowing. He must be under mind control as well." Alex pointed out, explaining why he wasn't reacting to their presence.
"It would seem so." Mikey said as they pinned the man up against the wall, next to a poster, both unaware that some kind of device was attached to the back of the man's neck.
"What is going with you? Why are you robbing your own store?" Alex frowned at the man.
"His own store?" Mikey asked in confusion.
"Yeah, this guy's Crazy Manny, the poster says so." Alex replied, pointing out the poster to Mikey.
"Oh." Mikey muttered.
But then, just like the man that they saved earlier, Crazy Manny's eyes stopped glowing and turned back to normal.
"What's going on?" He asked frantically before noticing Alex and Mikey in front of him. "Oh, my gosh! Please don't hurt me! Take anything! I got a family!"
"Wait, just calm down, sir!" Alex soothed him. "We won't hurt you. We just want to know why you were robbing your own store."
"What?" Crazy Manny asked in utter confusion.
"Yeah, for some reason, your eyes were glowing yellow just like someone me and Turtle Titan saved earlier, and you were stealing your own money from the cash register. What's the last thing you remember?"
"I - I was on my way home when I felt a prickling on my neck." Crazy Manny explained just as the device on his neck started crawling down his body and jumped off, which Alex and Mikey noticed, watching it crawl away to the door.
"Hey, that doesn't look like part of your inventory." Mikey remarked just as a police siren rang as a police car showed up in front of the store.
"It's best you talk to the police about what happened. And tell them Turtle Titan and the White Dragon are investigating this." Alex told Crazy Manny before he and Mikey ran out the back way just as two police officers entered the store, the very officers that showed up at the bank Stockman robbed with his Mousers.
The bug-like device continued crawling its way out of the building, now unnoticed by anyone, as it then stopped and looked back at the police officers and Crazy Manny.
Inside a dark complex, a rather menacing looking individual with glowing yellow eyes, wearing red mechanical suit and hooked up to wires, standing on a platform was watching a live feed from the bug-like device, laughing as he did so.
"My mind control bugs are a success, despite the interference of those costumed fools." The man bragged before noticing one of his bugs crawling up to him by his feet, which he picked up.
"One more field test to see how far I can push my helpless puppets." The man then suggested. "Then I will take control of my true target."
He then started laughing maniacally, which echoed throughout the complex he used as his lair.
Both Alex and Mikey started pacing back and forth on a rooftop, pondering what they've learned with that encounter with Crazy Manny.
"It seems whoever made that bug device must be the one responsible for these people acting out of character." Alex concluded.
"Yeah, but who could it be?" Mikey asked.
Then they heard tires screeching and a crashing sound. They looked down at the street below to see a bus bumping into a car and driving out of control.
"Time to save the latest victim of mind control." Mikey told Alex, who nodded and they threw their grappling hooks onto a lamppost and swung their way onto the roof of the bus.
The driver happened to have glowing yellow eyes, being the latest victim of mind control by one of those bugs and tried to shake the pair off, like he knew they were there. He even knocked into a fire hydrant, making water spray out into the street.
The two brothers opened up one of the bus' skylights and jumped inside the vehicle and saw that the driver was about to drive right into a bank.
"Sorry, buddy, but we're not gonna let you break into a bank!" Alex gritted through his teeth as he and Mikey turned the wheel so that the bus didn't crash into the bank and continued driving down the street.
Alex then slammed down on the brakes, but they didn't work.
"Great, he cut the brakes!" Alex exclaimed in horror while Mikey dealt with the driver, seeing that they were about to drive off of a pier.
Mikey fought back against the driver, noticing the bug on his neck.
"Time to snap you out of it!" He said, pulling the device off his neck, making the driver's eyes stop glowing and was now conscious.
"What's going on?" He asked as Mikey examined the device.
"Off hand, you were being mind controlled by this mechanical doohickey." Mikey told him, showing him the device before smashing it against a support beam.
"Guys, we gotta get off this bus if we don't want a sudden swimming lesson!" Alex reminded them of the fact that the bus is about to dive off the pier.
The driver opened the bus doors and jumped out instantly, followed by Alex.
Mikey then jumped out, but the doors closed on his cape, keeping him stuck to the bus.
"Whoa!" Mikey yelped. "Oh, man!"
"TITAN!" Alex cried out as he chased after the bus as it got closer to the end of the pier.
But when it reached the end of the pier, instead of falling into the river, it hovered over it, making Alex stop and gasp as he saw Silver Sentry carry the bus back towards the pier, dropping it in front of Alex, who raced towards Mikey and used his katana to slice the cape, freeing Mikey.
"Stupid cape!" Mikey groaned.
"Good thing I don't have one." Alex said as he placed his katana away.
"Are you two alright?" Silver Sentry asked the pair, towering over them.
"I… you - I mean, you're him! Central Survey! Surfer Sundry!" Mikey stuttered, shocked upon realising who he and Alex were speaking with.
"Silver Sentry." He corrected him.
"You'll have to excuse him, he happens to be a huge fan." Alex explained Mikey's awkward behaviour.
"I see. And you two are?" Silver Sentry asked.
"The White Dragon and Turtle Titan." Alex introduced themselves. "We've just started being heroes just like you."
"Well, obviously, not just like you." Mikey added as they shook hands with him. "Like White Dragon said, I'm a huge fan, having admired your work."
"Uh-huh." Silver Sentry muttered before turning to Alex. "So this is your first night?"
"Yeah. We thought we'd start simple but tonight has been a bit crazy. Someone seems to be putting people under mind control with devices such as this." Alex replied, Mikey showing the one he took off the bus driver.
"Yeah, making people do crazy stuff." Mikey nodded as Silver Sentry took a look at the device.
"Hmm, looks like the work of my arch nemesis, Dr. Malignus." He revealed. "You may have disabled it, but it's still receiving a control signal."
He then shot up into the air and used a supersonic vision to pinpoint where the signal was coming from, which happens to be from a warehouse on the other side of the Brooklyn Bridge.
"And it's originating from that warehouse." He said before soaring back down to Alex and Mikey. "Let's go."
He then threw Alex onto his back and carried Mikey in his arms, flying towards the warehouse.
"Whoa!" Alex gasped in awe. He had never flown before and to do so now left him amazed.
"First time flying?" Silver Sentry asked Alex with a smirk.
"Definitely. And it's incredible! I'm so jealous." Alex grinned.
Meanwhile, Mikey gasped.
"Are you alright?" Silver Sentry questioned.
"I'm sorry, This is a first for me." Mikey apologised.
"First time flying as well?" Silver Sentry asked.
"First superhero team up." Mikey before he noticed that Silver Sentry wasn't flying towards the warehouse. "Hey, wait a minute! I thought you said the bad guy's warehouse was in the other direction."
Silver Sentry then landed on a rooftop, where he dropped Alex and Mikey.
"Let's get one thing straight, Turtle Titan. There will be no superhero team up tonight." He said sternly, folding his arms.
"But -"
"You and White Dragon have a lot of heart, kid. And I appreciate the help. But you're in way over your head." Silver Sentry continued, cutting Mikey off.
"Actually, before we took on these identities, we've faced threats that can rival what you've dealt with." Alex argued. "We even fought against a large robot controlled by nanobots."
"That may be true, but Dr. Malignus isn't someone you want to face on your first night as superheroes." Silver Sentry said before he turned and walked away.
"You both need to keep yourselves safe and out of sight while I deal with Malignus. White Dragon, make sure Turtle Titan goes home."
He then took off in the air and flew off towards the warehouse.
"You don't understand!" Mikey called out. "I took this gig so I wouldn't have to hide in the shadows!"
Sentry just ignored him as he kept flying.
"Aw, what does he know?" Mikey groaned, earning a whack to the back of his head. "Ow!"
"He's a superhero, Mikey. A real superhero, he knows plenty. But considering that Malignus is his arch enemy, I believe he's heading right into a trap." Alex explained. "Therefore, whether he likes it or not, we are going to help him."
"That's more like it!" Mikey grinned and so the pair followed Silver Sentry to the warehouse, running across rooftops until they saw him land at the warehouse on the other side of the river.
"What I wouldn't give for a Turtle Plane right now." Mikey noted as he and Alex looked at the Brooklyn Bridge.
"There's nothing wrong with going on foot." Alex replied. "Now, let's go."
The pair ran their way across the Brooklyn Bridge, Mikey panting heavily while Alex didn't break a sweat.
"Yep, definitely need me a Turtle Mobile." Mikey wheezed.
"Just suck it up and hurry up!" Alex called back to him as he's ahead of him.
They eventually made it to the warehouse and threw their grappling hooks to the roof of the building.
As they climbed up the side of the warehouse, Mikey ended up hitting his head with his shield repeatedly.
"Note to self: rethink the shield. Ow!" Mikey moaned.
"Probably better if you had special gauntlets or something." Alex noted.
"I'll consider that next time." Mikey replied.
Once they reached the roof, they approached the hole that Silver Sentry made when he arrived earlier and threw the ropes attached to the grappling hooks down and lowered themselves inside the warehouse.
They heard beeping as they tugged their grappling hooks, which fell through the hole and were caught and placed on their belts.
"Hello?" Mikey called out as Alex kept his eyes and ears open and the two walked into the darkness. "Any nefarious twisted evildoers in the house?"
In response, the lights all turned on, blinding the pair.
"Just the one." A voice replied and they turned as their eyes adjusted, seeing Malignus standing on a platform in front of them.
"You must be Dr. Malignus." Alex frowned at him.
"I'm sorry. I haven't had the pleasure, Mr and Mr…?"
"The names are Turtle Titan and the White Dragon!" Mikey replied. "What have you done with Silver Sentry?"
"Why, he's right here." Malignus gestured to his right, making Alex and Mikey turn to their left to see Silver Sentry hovering above the floor in the shadows, which set off warning bells within Alex that something's wrong.
"Oh, there you are." Mikey said casually as Sentry hovered forward. "Had me worried for a sec."
Mikey then started jogging towards him, but Alex saw that Sentry's eyes were glowing yellow.
"Turtle Titan, look out!" He shouted, but it was too late as Sentry flew right at Mikey, punching him, as well as Alex before he could dodge him, sending them crashing into a wall before falling to the floor.
"Did I mention he's completely under my control?" Malignus pointed out smugly.
"You didn't, you little brat!" Alex snarled in contempt.
"Yes." Malignus said as he looked at the bug on the back of Sentry's neck. "Silver Sentry is my slave to do all my villainous bidding. Your hero is now powerless to stop himself from becoming the very thing he despises the most, a supervillain!"
"And your first villainous task, my super puppet, destroy Turtle Titan and the White Dragon!" He then declared.
Sentry lifted both Alex and Mikey with both hands as Malignus laughed like a maniac.
"For goodness sake, fight it, Silver Sentry! This isn't you!" Alex yelled.
"Yeah, you don't really want to hurt us!" Mikey pleaded.
"That's the beauty of my plan. He doesn't want to hurt you, but he can't stop himself." Malignus continued bragging with so much smugness that it got on Alex's nerves that he and Mikey looked at him with fury.
"Then we'll just stop him and get that bug off him!" Alex roared before he and Mikey got thrown up towards the roof, where Mikey clung to and spun on a support pole and Alex grabbed a beam and landed on top of it.
"You gotta do better than that!" Alex barked.
Silver Sentry then shot right at them, but Mikey threw his shield at him, like Captain America would, but it bounced off of Sentry's chest like it was nothing and he squished it like it was made of playdough.
"Right. What was I thinking?" Mikey scolded himself as he and Alex threw their grappling hooks to the hole in the roof, but Sentry caught them and pulled the pair up, making them crash into him and then held them out.
"Ow! That's gonna leave a mark!" Mikey moaned.
"My arm will be sore for a week." Alex hissed through the pain.
Silver Sentry then ripped their ropes and dropped them to the floor.
"Dispose of these pests!" Malignus ordered Sentry, who lifted them over his head and threw them out a boarded up window and crashed into a bunch of wooden crates outside.
"I now feel bad for Batman and any other non-powered superheroes." Alex groaned in pain as he and Mikey got to their feet, Mikey's cape now torn up.
Silver Sentry then crashed through the wall and shot right at the two brothers, but Alex tackled Mikey to the ground, making Sentry miss and hit oil drums into the air.
He looked down to where they were, yet there was no sign of them.
"Where are they?" Malignus hissed as he looked at the monitors, showing him the live feed. "Find them! Destroy them!"
Silver Sentry hovered for a moment before taking off to search for Alex and Mikey, who were hiding behind a wall.
"You know, maybe Master Splinter was right… again." Mikey admitted, taking his cowl off and the insignia on his chest and the cape as well. "Maybe it's time to get back to basics."
"Yeah, do things the ninja way." Alex agreed with him, still keeping his costume on, since it's still ninja garb. "I have an idea."
Silver Sentry was now on the ground, holding an oil drum as he continued searching for them.
"Yoo-hoo!" He heard Mikey, making him hover and float towards where he heard his voice by the docks. "Over here, big guy!" He kept looking but saw no sign of Alex and/or Mikey.
"No, over here!" He heard Mikey again, making Sentry hover back to where he was moments ago and lower himself to the ground.
Alex flips out from a corner.
"Come and get me!" He called out to Silver Sentry, getting his attention, who then threw oil drums at him, managing to miss them until he deliberately let one hit him, sending him crashing into the wall behind him.
"Now, my puppet, the start of the coup de grace!" Malignus ordered.
Silver Sentry walked up to Alex, arms raised over his head, ready to strike him down as Alex got to his hands and knees.
"NOW!" Alex shouted and Mikey charged out, flipped over and jumped onto his back, pulling the bug off his neck before he could hit Alex.
"Ahh." Silver Sentry moaned as his eyes stopped glowing yellow and he rubbed his head.
"Thank you, Invisible Flying Dragon!" Mikey grinned as Alex got to his feet.
"I knew you'd perform it well." Alex grinned.
Sentry grabbed the bug and crushed it with his bare hand.
"Thank you, Turtle Titan and White Dragon." He said gratefully, placing hands on their shoulders. "You've earned your superhero team up."
Silver Sentry soon burst through the warehouse doors.
"It's over, Malignus! You've lost!" He yelled before flying right at his arch enemy.
"Only this round, Sentry!" Malignus smirked before the platform he stood on dropped him down, making Sentry get tangled up in wires, getting electrocuted in the process.
"The game will continue!" He bragged as he laughed up at the hero, soon entering the sewers beneath as the platform acted as an elevator as well.
"Muscle bound fool! Doesn't he always know I always have an escape plan?" He mocked as he exited the elevator, only to freeze when he saw Alex and Mikey standing before him.
"Hi. Remember us?" Mikey asked before he and Alex jumped at and kicked Malignus into the elevator, knocking him out.
"Who needs a shield and grappling hook anyway?" Mikey asked Alex.
"Not us ninjas." Alex replied before they high threed/fived.
Soon, the police arrived and they escorted Malignus, who was strapped to a straitjacket bed, into a police van.
Alex and Mikey watched from the roof of the warehouse as Silver Sentry landed next to them.
"Thanks for the help." He said to them. "You're welcome to team up with me anytime, Turtle Titan and White Dragon."
"Our names are Michelangelo and Alexander." Mikey said as they turned to him. "And from now on, we'll leave the limelight to guys like you."
"Yeah. We've just learned that we're best suited to doing good for the city in the shadows." Alex added before they flipped and jumped towards the shadows and disappeared into the night as they jumped off the roof.
Back in the lair, Splinter was in the middle of lecturing his sons after they had finished their training session, the three sitting around him.
"And so my sons, we practise our moves very slowly so that we may execute them with great speed." He explained.
Just then, they heard the door to the lair opening up and saw Alex and Mikey entering, Alex still wearing his White Dragon costume, though he was currently taking off his headband.
"What do you know? It's Super Mikey and his sidekick!" Raph joked as he, Leo and Donnie stood and they ran to and surrounded them.
"Returning to their secret turtle cave headquarters." Donnie chuckled, though the pair acted like they weren't even there.
"How's life in the funny books?" Leo smirked when Alex and Mikey reached the couch.
They sat and Mikey turned one of the TVs on, which played a news broadcast of what happened earlier.
"...at a Brooklyn warehouse, where the Silver Sentry has defeated and captured the criminal mastermind known as Dr. Malignus." A male reporter said as Malignus was being put in the police van. Then the reporter stood next to Silver Sentry. "Any comments on the incident, Silver Sentry?"
"I just wanna say I couldn't have done it without the help of my new friends and allies, Turtle Titan and the White Dragon." Silver Sentry replied.
Mikey then turned the TV off and both he and Alex grinned as their brothers couldn't believe what they just heard, putting two and two together thanks to Alex's costume.
"Guys, were those you two the Silver Sentry was talking about?" Leo asked as the pair stood and turned to the three.
"I'm a turtle, not a titan." Mikey replied.
"And the White Dragon would make rare appearances, anyway." Alex smirked.
"So, who's ready to get back to training?" Mikey then asked before he and Alex bowed to Splinter.
I thought it would be nice if Alex got to be a superhero himself. And I think it would be cool for Alex to join his brothers on solo adventures with each of them, as a way to establish more of the bond he has with each of them.
And his identity of the White Dragon is a tease for much later in the story. If you've seen the show, you know what I'm talking about.
