Shredder Strikes Back - Part 2
In April's apartment, Leo lay unconscious, beaten to a pulp, April and his family looking at him with worry.
"Our worst fears have come true."
Leo ran along and jumped across some rooftops early in the morning.
"Leo was on a training exercise…"
The sky was now turbulent and lightning struck as rain poured from the sky.
A large number of Foot Ninjas appeared before Leo, all wielding katanas.
Then he was chased across the rooftops by the Foot, including Hun and Foot Tech Ninjas.
"...when he was ambushed and chased throughout the city by the dishonourable Foot."
Leo got cornered by the edge of a roof before he looked up at five elite ninjas standing above him on top of a wall.
He started fighting them, all of them constantly moving around him, dodging and blocking his attacks and striking him all at the same time.
When struck with a double headed battle axe, Leo fell to his hands and knees, panting with his head hanging.
Then the ninjas with the trident and nagamaki struck Leo so hard he fell in agony and his katanas flew in the air as lightning struck.
"He returned to us…"
Leo's brothers were about to leave April's apartment to search for him, but he came in through a window, shattering it and landing on his shell, cuts and bruises covering his body.
"...beaten within an inch of his life, delivering the worst news we could ever hear."
Leo's brothers all gathered around him, all worried for his life. Both Alex and Raph leaned in as Leo was telling them something.
"He's back… the Shredder." He said before passing out, leaving everyone gasping before looking out the shattered window.
"And while this was terrible beyond belief, the worst is yet to come."
Shredder lifted Leo's katanas above him before shattering them in half as lightning struck, laughing with utter malice as he prepared the next phase of his revenge.
In April's apartment, as rain kept pouring down and lightning flashed the sky, everyone gathered around Leo, except Alex and Raph, who stood by the shattered window.
"What? What did he say?" April asked, thinking she had to have misheard the terrible news Leo told everyone.
"He said 'the Shredder's back'." Mikey replied as he and Donnie were on either side of Leo, checking him.
"No way, we were all there! We all saw what happened that night on the roof!" Raph said in disbelief.
The brothers and Splinter all recalled that night very well.
The five brothers were all gathered up against a wall and watched as Shredder lifted his two pronged gauntlet to strike them all down like he did to Yoshi.
"None of you will leave here alive!" He snarled at them.
"NO!" Splinter yelled as he leapt down from the water tower and got between Shredder and his sons, blocking his gauntlet with his walking stick. "You destroyed my family once, I will not allow that to happen again!"
Shredder tried swiping at Splinter, but he ducked and struck Shredder in the back, knocking him aside.
He then leapt towards the bottom of the water tower, where Shredder charged at him and tried to hit him, but Splinter kept dodging and blocking his punches and kicks until Shredder sliced through one of the tower's support beams.
Splinter jumped to another support beam, where Shredder sliced again, this being repeated until the whole tower started wobbling and creaking.
"This is for my Master Yoshi!" Splinter declared before kicking one of the sliced beams, causing Shredder to gasp as he turned to Splinter, who stood and watched as the water tower started teetering over with water spilling out.
Shredder screamed as he ran, only to get swept up by some of the water, which threw him and his Foot Ninjas off the roof and onto the street or on the fire escape on the side of the building.
He then looked up to see the water tower falling right to him and seemingly crush him.
"There's no way any human could've survived that." Donnie said, shaking his head as Raph joined him and Mikey.
"Remember what I said? I don't believe that Shredder is even human to begin with." Alex reminded them grimly as he kept looking out the window.
Among the wreckage of the water tower, Shredder's two pronged gauntlet rose up, showing he's still alive, and with a burning passion for revenge.
"Uh, if you've read comic books, you'd know, the bad guy always comes back. Always!" Mikey said as he joined Alex in looking out the window.
"We need to get Leo out of here." April told everyone.
"She is right. We must leave now." Splinter agreed with her.
"Like instantly right now! Because we got company!" Alex informed everyone, seeing the Foot Ninja on rooftops on the other side of the street. "We're gonna have to fight our way out of here and find somewhere safe to hide."
"Is that the plan?" Mikey asked frantically.
"It's the best one we have at the moment." Alex replied as he twirled his katana, ready to fight.
Just then, a Foot Ninja smashed through a window, another doing the same with another window.
Mikey yelped before Alex stepped back towards everyone else. Mikey jumped over to the couch and pushed it towards the ninjas as more popped in, one through a window next to the pair and and two more through the kitchen windows.
"Master Splinter, grab Leo. We'll cover you." Donnie instructed as he stood and pulled out his bo staff.
He blocked a ninja's katana and the other's before a third ninja leapt at him, but got kicked away by Alex.
Raph and Mikey faced the pair from the windows at the front of the building. Raph thrust sai, which the ninja jumped over and attacked Raph, who blocked with his other sai. As this happened, Mikey knocked back the other ninja.
Both Splinter and April carried Leo to behind the couch just as more ninjas showed up.
Raph blocked another ninja's katana with both sais and leapt over a swipe and kicked them in the face.
Alex then joined his side and they both took on another two ninjas. Alex slashed at their leg and arm before punching their face as Raph blocked the other's katana and knocked it out of their hands, flying towards another ninja, narrowly missing their head as it got embedded in the wall.
All four brothers simultaneously blocked attacks with their weapons as more ninjas swarmed in through the windows.
Eventually, Mikey found himself facing a larger and muscular Foot Ninja as he spun his nunchucks. They grabbed him and threw him over the couch before jumping onto it, ready to strike him down.
"LEAVE HIM ALONE!" Alex roared, leaping at the ninja and kicked their face so hard that bones were heard breaking and the ninja fell limp onto their back.
"I will hold them off!" Splinter said, standing up and joining the fight. "Alexander, Michelangelo, help April get your brother down the stairs and out through the antique shop!"
Splinter then started taking some ninjas down like they were nothing.
"Leo?" Mikey asked as he and Alex saw that his eyes were opening.
"My swords. Where… are my swords?" He moaned.
"Just take it easy, Leo, we'll get you out of here." Alex said, trying to keep his voice steady.
He and Mikey watched as Donnie and Raph defended themselves against some more Foot Ninjas.
Splinter watched Alex, April and Mikey over Leo, knocking out another large Foot Ninja in the face without looking.
Then a Foot Ninja with a bow and arrow entered and fired a shot at Splinter, who saw it coming and caught the arrow with his hand.
"Enough!" He barked as he snapped the arrow in half. "Raphael, Donatello, cover the rear! Alexander, Michelangelo, I told you to help April get Leonardo downstairs!"
He then whacked a ninja in the face with his walking stick, then another in the shoulder, whacked another's katana, making them step back, knocked another's out of their hand and stabbed an approaching ninja in the stomach.
Four ninjas appeared before Alex and Mikey, who knocked them all back, along with more that tried to take them down.
"Go, we'll cover you and clear a path!" Alex told April before he and Mikey dealt with more ninjas.
April got up and wrapped one of Leo's arms around her shoulder to carry him to the stairs.
"I can walk." Leo insisted when he gained consciousness before moaning in pain and nearly falling over, though April still kept hold of him.
"Leo, lean on me." April told him.
"April, leave me. Get away if you can. This is our fight, not yours." Leo then told her.
"Not my fight?" She said, offended. "Look, Leo, we're all family now. I could never run out on you! Let's go!"
She made her way to the door that led to the stairs as a Foot Ninja jumped in from behind to attack, though Alex knocked them out with a slash to the chest with his katana.
When April reached the door, she opened it, only to scream when seeing a swarm of Foot Ninjas on the other side, ready to attack.
But Leo was able to kick the door on the ninjas, hitting the one closest to the door.
Mikey punched ninja in the face before he and Alex saw the ninjas burst in through the door as April and Leo were pressed against the wall next to it.
They yelled before making their way over and kicked them out of the apartment and out the door, knocking them into more ninjas that were coming up the stairs, which they saw before running back into the apartment.
"Ladies and gentlemen, turtles and rats, run, do not walk, to the nearest exit!" Mikey called out to everyone.
"Time to get this show on the road!" Alex added just as Donnie whacked three ninjas all at once in the face.
"Raph, this bus is leaving!" Donnie told Raph as he and Splinter backed up to the door.
Meanwhile, Raph kept all the ninjas busy so that they wouldn't get to the others.
Alex slowly and quietly made his way downstairs with Mikey behind him with Splinter and April both holding Leo at the top of the stairs.
"Be alert. The shop is our only exit and they know it." Splinter cautioned Alex, who squinted his eyes in suspicion, knowing this too well.
"I'll scout ahead." He said quietly, heading down the stairs.
He reached the door to the shop, pressing his ear against it, hearing nothing, which made goosebumps crawl up his back, knowing there's more Foot waiting for them.
So he pulled out a small mirror from his pocket and pressed it against the floor, up to the crack of the door to see who's there.
His heart sank when he saw the reflections of the five elite ninjas standing in the middle of the store, growling as they must've spotted the mirror.
Despite their threatening appearances, he had to admit they had nice hats.
He ran back to the others, who all started coming down the stairs.
"Wrong way, Alex." Donnie told him.
"Yeah, well, do you want to deal with an ambush in the store with what I'm guessing are five elite ninjas?" Alex asked, his voice stressing the seriousness of the situation downstairs.
"Ambush?" Mikey asked with slight concern.
"We don't have a choice, they're pouring in through the windows upstairs." Donnie replied.
Back upstairs, Raph swung a sai, which a ninja ducked under and then tried to hit him with their katana, but he blocked it.
"Hey! What's the story down there?" Raph shouted as he continued blocking.
"Some elite ninjas are waiting for us downstairs!" Alex replied back.
"We'll just deal with them." Donnie shrugged off as he and Mikey moved past Alex.
"Guys, wait!" Alex called out, but was ignored.
Both Mikey and Donnie jumped into the store with their weapons ready and were surprised by the five elite ninjas, all with their weapons ready, growling.
"Nice hats." The two said in unison.
Both the ninjas with the battle axe and trident threw their weapons at the pair, which they dodged by backflipping and jumping to the side.
But the battle axe spun around like a boomerang, making Donnie jump back, crashing into the wall and the elite ninja threw their spear at him, but Donnie moved his head a little to the right, missing the spear.
He then crawled to the door.
"Raphie, we've got trouble down here!" He called out.
"Like I don't got trouble up here!" Raph replied back as he reached the top of the stairs before kicking away two ninjas.
Back in the shop, Alex, Mikey and Donnie stood as they faced the elite ninjas. Splinter then entered, recognising the ninjas.
"The Shredder's Elite Guard." He said before lightning flashed. "They are the deadliest of his warriors, lethal assassins."
He then signalled April to stop as she was taking Leo down the stairs.
"Raph, the guys ran into something bad in the shop!" She informed Raph upstairs.
"Hey, I got my hands full up here!" Raph replied right before he knocked a ninja back with a roundhouse kick and then blocked another ninja's katana as Splinter ran up to him.
"Go!" He told Raph, punching the ninja away. "Assist your brothers. I will protect Leonardo."
Raph ran down the stairs and jumped over April and Leo before running into the shop.
"Whoa!" He gasped while stumbling to a stop as he spotted the Elite Guard, who growled at him. "Nice hats."
"Yeah, we thought so, too." Mikey agreed with him as Donnie nodded.
"Say what you will about the Foot, but they do not skimp on the headgear." Donnie noted as the Elite Guard closed in on them.
Back with Splinter, the Foot Ninja all tried overwhelming him by trapping him amongst them, but he punched one of them in the face, knocking them back, and then kicked another away, punched a third, kicked the fourth, spin kicked another two and then threw a seventh at the railing by the stairs, crashing through them and onto the floor below.
A ninja threw in a cheap shot by kicking Splinter in the back, but he rolled towards the railing, where he ripped out a couple of beams and knocked most of the remaining ninja out before wielding his walking stick again.
"Master Splinter, he's getting worse!" April informed Splinter with concern.
"We cannot stay here any longer!" Splinter replied before he started coming down the stairs, throwing a ninja off them to the floor below and facing the rest as they started coming down.
"So we gonna do this or what?" Raph snarled.
All four brothers charged at the Elite Guard, who charged at them.
Raph faced the one with the spear, kicking them away in the face.
Alex faced off the one with the nagamaki.
"You must have a fragile ego if you have a sword that big." Alex sneered before they clashed their weapons.
The Elite Guard then tried to swing at his face, but Alex leaned back in time to avoid getting hit and then became a blur when he slashed his katana on the Guard's arm, making him bleed. Alex then hit them in the face with his katana's pommel and then kicked them in the crotch and stomach, knocking them away.
Donnie jumped towards the two with the battle axe and the double bladed sword, jumping up when they both swung their weapons down at him, landing on them and kicking them away in the stomach and face.
The Elite Guard with the battle axe got back up and now faced against Raph, swinging for his face, but Raph ducked, but he did manage to kick him in the plastron, launching him past Mikey and Donnie and crash against the door to the stairs, his sais knocked out of his hands.
Then the Elite Guard with the spear leapt and kicked Donnie away into the wall next to the door, groaning as he rubbed his head.
Alex now dealt with the Guard with the double bladed sword, flipping and ducking to avoid both blades before he slashed his katana against the Guard's ankles, making him fall to his knees, allowing Alex to kick his weapon away and then kick his face so hard his nose was starting to bleed.
Mikey flipped away from the Guard with the spear and then ducked from a swipe before whacking his face with his nunchuck, making the Guard stumble back and then Mikey and Alex kicked him in the chest, crashing him into a display case.
Donnie got back up and faced the Guard with the spear, blocking each other's moves until the Guard kicked Donnie in the plastron, knocking him against a display case with some vases on top.
The Guard then tried swiping at Donnie's head, but the turtle ducked, causing the spear to smash the vases.
"Hey, try not to wreck the shop!" Donnie scolded the Guard, who was distracted long enough that Alex slid at his feet, knocking him off the ground and falling on his side, allowing Alex to cut his back with his katana.
"I don't think they care, Donnie." Alex pointed out as he stood.
Raph now stood on top of a display case and faced the Guard with the double bladed sword, moving past the agonising pain Alex gave him from cutting his ankles and kicking his face in.
Raph jumped to Mikey when he swiped his weapon at the turtle's feet, now standing shell to shell with Mikey, who faced the Guard with the battle axe.
"Just need to catch my breath." Raph panted.
"Yeah, can we call a timeout or something?" Mikey asked as Raph blocked the Guard with the double bladed sword and kneed him in the stomach before kicking him away.
"This must be how they beat Leo! Dishonourable sacks of trash!" Alex growled in contempt as he managed to take a moment to breathe while Mikey whacked the Guard with the battle axe away.
Alex then ducked to avoid the Guard with the trident, who tried to stab him in the face, but Alex rolled between his legs and then slashed the back of them and then flipped off his back.
The Guard with the double bladed sword then tried to slash Mikey's head off, but he ducked and tried kicking him, but the Guard ducked and then kicked Mikey in the plastron, making him knock against a display case, which he rolled over backwards when the Guard tried to stab him.
Mikey then backflipped next to a suit of armour, which he hid behind when the Guard tried swiping at him, breaking the suit of armour apart until Mikey ended up on his shell and onto his plastron.
"Uh-oh!" He groaned when the Guard stood over him.
Donnie faced against the Guard with the battle axe, who kicked his staff out of his hands, landing next to Mikey, which Donnie saw, making him gasp before grabbing the Guard and kicked him over towards the other Guard that was about to stab Mikey, knocking the two away at a wall.
Mikey looked over and watched as they vanished, making him and Donnie gasp before they reappeared behind Mikey.
"Yikes!" Mikey yelped as they looked ready to fight.
When April finally made it to the ground floor, Splinter jumped over her and Leo and ran into the shop as he had dealt with the ninjas upstairs.
April didn't realise that, as she approached the door, Hun came out from the shadows before he shoved her aside and lifted Leo off his feet by his shell.
"Your friend doesn't look too well." He sneered, lifting Leo's head up. "Shall I put him out of his misery?"
Mikey got knocked against the open door, which April backed up to, and saw what was going on.
"LEO!" He gasped before the Guard with the double bladed sword pulled him back into the shop.
April gasped, seeing Hun was about to punch Leo, and smashed a vase on the brute's head.
"PUT HIM DOWN!" She demanded.
"As you wish." Hun grinned maliciously.
He then launched Leo through the door, into the shop, and crashed into a metal beam, denting it, as he fell to his plastron.
"LEO!" Alex cried out as he slashed the Guard with the trident in the face and kicked them in the face, knocking them away so that he could reach Leo and carry him.
"LEAVE HIM ALONE!" He then raged at the Guard with the nagamaki, who tried slicing at Leo, slicing his forearm, cutting his nerves that made him grip his weapon, causing him to drop it, and then kicked him away.
As Raph faced the Guard with the battle axe, he heard April scream, making him turn to see her back into the shop as Hun approached her.
He yelled as he charged at Hun, kicking him in the chest, knocking him back and April shut the door.
Raph, Mikey and Donnie then gathered around Alex, who held Leo, resting him against a different metal beam.
Then all five of the Elite Guard appeared by the shop's front door in puffs of smoke. The door was then kicked open and Shredder entered, shocking the four brothers.
"Oh crud." Raph muttered as Alex stood with his katana ready, trickles of blood on the blade.
"Ugh, it's really him, like Leo said." Mikey panicked.
"And still up to his cheap and lazy tactics." Alex snarled with contempt.
"You have all been a thorn in my side long enough!" The Shredder snarled back right before Splinter jumped in, standing between Shredder and his sons. "No one opposes the Shredder. And now I will have my revenge for our last encounter! Say farewell to each other while you still can!"
"That won't happen, cheesegrater, because you will not have your revenge! Revenge you don't deserve after all you have done!" Alex snarled back, baring his teeth, making Shredder growl.
"SILENCE, BRAT!" He roared.
"This attack is nothing but a cowardly gambit, wearing us down by sheer numbers! It is not the way of the true warrior!" Splinter called Shredder out.
"Couldn't have said it better myself, Sensei." Alex said as he stood next to him.
"Guys, I say we shred his butt, once and for all! For Leo! You with me?" Raph told his brothers.
"All the way." Alex replied as he twirled his katana.
"Till the end." Donnie added as he spun his staff.
"Which hopefully isn't gonna be anytime soon. Right?" Mikey retorted as he spun his nunchucks.
All four brothers then yelled as they leapt at Shredder.
Raph was the first to attack, trying to kick his face, but Shredder ducked and punched his face, knocking Raph onto his shell.
Then came Mikey, trying to whack Shredder, who hit him in the plastron and knocked a nunchuck out of his hand, crashing to the floor on his plastron.
Then Donnie leapt, swinging his staff down from over his head, but Shredder jumped back and kicked him away, grabbing his staff, Donnie crashing into a metal beam.
Finally, Alex charged in, swinging his katana at Shredder, who blocked it with the staff. He then tried punching Alex's face, but he leaned back and then swung his katana at a gap in Shredder's armour, managing to cut him, but instead of blood, there were sparks.
Shredder roared before he kicked Alex in the chest, knocking him back, as he was shocked by the sparks.
Splinter then landed next to Alex, who was groaning as he got onto his hands and knees.
The Elite Guard then jumped in front of Shredder.
"Finish them off! This rodent is mine!" He ordered, narrowing his red eyes on Splinter.
The Elite Guard then jumped towards Alex and the Turtles while Shredder charged at Splinter with Donnie's staff, which was blocked by his walking stick. They strained as they looked at each other with loathing before Splinter shoved him back.
Shredder swiped the staff down at him, but Splinter stepped aside and blocked him again until he kicked Shredder away in the stomach.
He then spotted three Foot Ninjas wielding katanas approaching him, though he took them down within a second.
Shredder got back up and approached Splinter from behind and tried hitting him with Donnie's staff, but Splinter kept dodging it before kicking him in the stomach so hard he was launched into a display case, smashing it.
Meanwhile, Alex and the Turtles were cornered up against the wall next to the shop window with April and Leo, all except for Alex on their hands and knees, Alex barely able to stand.
"Come on! You scared, you dishonourable cowards?" Alex challenged them, twirling his katana.
But then as they approached, a headlight shined into the shop, followed by the sound of an engine revving.
Then the shop window was shattered apart when a figure riding a motorcycle barged into the shop, making the Elite Guard jump back and for Alex and the Turtles to cover themselves from the glass.
The figure stopped and turned the motorcycle to face the Elite Guard, revving up before driving at them, skidding to a stop and knocking four of the five out through the window and into the street.
The figure then faced the Guard with the double bladed sword, racing at him before the Guard leapt onto the bike, ready to strike him down. But the figure pumped the brakes, launching the Guard into a cabinet, which fell on top of him.
The figure then got off his motorcycle and turned to Alex, April and the Turtles, took his hood down, revealing himself to be Casey with his hockey mask on.
"Now that's what I call crashing a party." He remarked.
"Casey!" Raph grinned.
"Was wondering if you'd show up!" Alex sighed with relief.
"Though I've never seen a lamer party in my life!" Casey said, pulling out a baseball bat and whacking a couple of the Elite Guard away casually as he walked up to his friends. "Where's the band?" He then turned to April. "You okay, babe?"
"Don't call me babe." April blushed.
Shredder had gotten to his feet and growled at the new arrival to the fight.
"Obliterate him!" He snarled.
"This can't be the band." Casey said as he exchanged his bat with both his hockey stick and golf club while all of the Foot present faced him, Alex and the Turtles, who got back up and wielded their weapons. "I want rock-n-roll, man. Good thing I brought my own drum sticks. Now, who wants to be the drum?"
"Goongala! Goongala!" He then shouted before he, Alex, the Turtles and Splinter all charged and fought against the Foot, holding their ground.
As this was going on, Hun smashed through the door and entered the shop, where he spotted April and Leo next to a metal door and grinned evilly, walking towards them.
April turned and saw Hun when his shadow cast over Leo, making her gasp before shielding the wounded turtle.
"You want him, you have to deal with me first!" She warned him.
"That's the idea." He replied smugly. "Those green freaks and that brat feel great affection for you. Using you should take the fight out of them!"
He cracked his knuckles and was about to hit her, but his arm was caught by Casey's golf club.
"Hun, never, EVER, threaten her!" Casey yelled as his blood was boiling.
Hun tried punching him, but Casey ducked away. Hun then tried sweeping him off his feet, but Casey jumped up. Then he deflected a punch and dodged another before whacking his back with his hockey stick, making him crash into and on top of a swarm of ninjas.
Casey then exchanged looks with April, the latter feeling beyond grateful for him saving her.
"Casey, I - I -" She stuttered.
"Yeah, well, I, uh, what a day, huh?" He stuttered too, blushing behind the mask. "Well, gotta run." He then ran back into the action.
"Goongala! He yelled before whacking a Foot Ninja.
Outside in the street, a police car with its sirens on raced towards the shop after getting calls about a loud disturbance in the area.
Within the car were the two officers that arrived at the bank Baxter Stockman robbed with his Mousers.
They parked outside the shop, seeing all of the fighting going on.
"Well, what do we have here?" The older of the two questioned. "Looks like a major rumble in the jungle."
"Come in, Central." The younger officer called through the police dispatch. "Yeah, we're gonna need backup on this one."
Back inside the shop, the fighting kept going, Alex, Casey, the Turtles and Splinter keeping up with their energy, blocking and taking down numerous ninjas.
But as Alex and Raph took down a pair by hitting their backs, they saw Leo getting up on his feet, being helped by April.
"Leo." Alex gasped with worry, knowing he shouldn't be doing that.
"Mikey, look!" Raph called to Mikey, who whacked a couple ninjas in the face with his nunchuck before seeing what he and Alex saw, making him gasp.
"Leo!" He cried out as ninjas closed in on Leo.
"Leo, you can't do this." April expressed her concern as Leo stood without her help.
"I have to. They need my help." Leo insisted determinedly.
But then he fell to his hands and knees just as Shredder walked up to him, making April step back in fear.
Shredder then raised his two pronged gauntlet, desperate to take Leo down permanently.
"NO! Splinter raged as he leapt at Shredder, kicking him away from Leo.
"You strike a wounded warrior! You have no honour!" He hissed angrily, nearly frothing at the mouth with rage.
"I fight to win!" Shredder shrugged off, not caring for honour.
This made Splinter glare with venom before Shredder tried to punch him, but Splinter jumped to the side and again before trying to whack Shredder with his walking stick, but Shredder jumped back.
He then swung a fast fist at Splinter, who was barely able to dodge it.
He then was barely about to deflect a punch, but it left him open for another punch and started getting pummelled by punches and kicks.
Leo saw all this and gritted his teeth as he gathered whatever strength he had left before charging at a cabinet next to Splinter and Shredder, pushing it to put distance between them.
Leo stumbled before he blacked out and April grabbed him.
"Leonardo." Splinter moaned in sadness before seeing that his sons and Casey were now starting to get overwhelmed again, some getting knocked down or barely able to keep fighting due to exhaustion.
They all gathered by a corner of the shop when Raph got punched in the plastron.
Splinter cannot lose his family all over again due to the dishonourable and despicable Foot.
"No!" He snarled, lowering his eyes at Shredder. "I will not allow you to destroy my family!" He then turned to his sons. "My sons, retreat!"
He then leapt in the air, Shredder doing the same, wanting to take him down, but he missed Splinter, who landed behind a cabinet, which he kicked to crash on top of Shredder before jumping away.
"But where do we even go?" Alex shouted as he sliced at a ninja's chest, leaving a nasty cut before kicking them away.
Splinter joined April and Leo, the former looking over at the metal door, gasping as that was the solution.
"Back there!" She pointed, catching Mikey's attention.
"You got it!" He replied, jumping over to the door and opening it, turning on the light, seeing that it was a large closet.
"Everybody in here, we can hold them off!" He called out to everyone.
Alex, Raph and Casey held off some ninjas as the others got into the closet.
Once they were in, the three ran inside and Mikey shut the door before more ninjas could attack and as Shredder roared getting out of the crushed cabinet.
"Well, this is great. Small, dark and no way out." Raph grumbled as he put his sais in his belt. "Perfect for making a last stand."
"It's a walk-in cooler. This shop used to be a grocery store, once upon a time." April explained.
"Fascinating." Raph muttered.
"Yeah, you actually do learn something new every day." Alex agreed.
Outside the closet, the ninjas tried opening the door as police sirens rang outside, catching Shredder's attention as he looked outside, seeing police cars parked outside.
Hun and the Elite Guard stood, ready to take on the police, but Shredder raised his arm.
"Foot Ninjas, disappear!" He ordered and everyone vanished except for him, as he walked up to the closet door, picking up a piece of metal, which he used to keep the door shut, placed between the handle and a gas pipe.
He then pulled out a small circular device, activating it and threw it over his shoulder, when it exploded and set the whole shop on fire.
"Like the phoenix, I have risen from the ashes!" He then sneered before slashing the gas pipe open with his prongs and then turned to walk away. "And into my fire, you shall fall!"
He then disappeared amongst the fire, which grew.
Back within the closet, Mikey leaned in close to the door, not hearing anything.
"Kinda quiet out there. You think they all just went home?" He asked everyone.
"Yeah, we scared them off by running into a closet and locking the door." Raph said sarcastically.
"They must've done something if they all ran off like the cowards they are." Alex frowned, knowing for sure what he suspected had to be the case.
Then he and Raph sniffed as they smelled something.
"Hey, we smell smoke." Raph said.
Then Donnie started sniffing, smelling something else.
"I smell gas." He informed everyone.
"Mikey!" Raph snarled, thinking Mikey farted.
"No, not that kind of gas." Donnie told him.
"Is it flammable gas?" Alex asked worriedly.
"Yes." Donnie nodded.
This made everyone worried as Mikey pressed his hand against the door handle, which started feeling hot.
"Hey, this door's getting hot!" He said before trying to open the door, which wouldn't budge. "It's jammed! It won't open!"
"Gas plus flame equals…." Casey started putting two and two together, releasing with horror what will happen soon enough. "LET'S BOOK, NOW!"
"WE GOTTA GET OUT OF HERE!" Raph shouted as he and Mikey hit the door with their weapons, hoping to get the door open.
A few moments later, the fire continued spreading until it made contact with the leaking gas.
Instantly, the whole building exploded, knocking all the police officers over and then they all ran off as the building continued exploding.
As sirens went off, on a nearby rooftop, two familiar figures appeared: the Guardians that witnessed Alex and the Turtles when they fought against the Foot and Shredder a while back.
"No! No, it can't be! ALEX!" The woman cried, falling to her knees, shedding many tears.
The blue haired man activated a hologram to inform the council.
"We regret to report that we are too late. Shredder is victorious. Alexander and the mutant turtle creatures are destroyed." He told them amongst the woman's wails of agony.
"This is unfortunate." The chubby man replied.
"Indeed." The elderly man then said. "Our enemy is becoming too powerful. We must -"
" - accelerate our plan, immediately." The woman finished sternly.
"Understood." The blue haired man replied before shutting the hologram off and turned to the woman, still on her knees and still crying. He knelt down and placed a hand on her shoulder. "I'm so sorry."
"First Lance, now Alex!" The woman cried. "I never even got to tell him everything! Shredder took my son from me just as he did with my husband!"
The blue haired man watched on, seeing the building burn and explode some more.
Well, it turns out that the female Guardian is Alex's mother! Surprise! This will be explored, but when I get around to adapting season 2.
