Secret Origins - Part 3
The military surrounded the TCRI building, even having tanks, fearing an alien invasion was coming.
Mortu led Alex, the Turtles, Mona Lisa, Honeycutt, Alopex, Tiger Claw and Rebecca into the Oracle Pod chamber.
Then Alex, the Turtles and Splinter entered the pods, which closed on them and closed their eyes as small devices clamped onto their heads.
"Master Splinter once told me 'the more one learns, the less one knows'. Well, let's just say me and my mutant family have learned a lot as of late."
"Whoa, dude." Mikey gasped as he and his family appeared on the bridge of an Utrom ship.
They watched as Mortu turned from the controls to the three navigators behind him, all of whom were in a tank.
Mikey then approached the navigators before turning to Mortu, who went back to working on the controls.
Each of the navigators had their eyes glowing, one at a time.
"Through the means of pretty advanced virtual reality, we ended up learning the history of an alien race called the Utroms."
The scene around Alex, the Turtles and Splinter changed before finding themselves in a room with a tank that had a red Utrom held down via restraints.
Mortu passed through Mikey as he approached the tank, going back and forth with the red Utrom.
"You will never hold me." The red Utrom warned.
The Utrom ship, heavily damaged, ended up crashing onto the shore of pre-Feudal Japan.
"We learned that the Utroms were trying to take their most dangerous criminal to their homeworld to stand trial, but he caused their ship to crash on Earth, several centuries ago in Japan."
Alex, the Turtles and Splinter stood on a hill, where they could see a Japanese temple in the distance, as well as a samurai performing some moves.
"This is Japan." Leo said in awe.
The Shredder, along with his Foot Ninjas appeared in front of a fire.
Mikey gulped before the Shredder struck him in the chest with his gauntlet, which sent him flying.
"It's here that we meet the Shredder, who we later have confirmed to be the same Shredder we've fought against in the present."
Alex swung the powered up Sword of Tengu into the ground, sending a powerful shockwave directly at Shredder, throwing over a cliff and into the water.
"When we ended up part of this virtual reality, we were forced to fight him, but we were able to defeat him."
Leo pressed a device in the shape of a cube, which activated a light that consumed him and his family in front of Mortu and a couple of Guardians.
The family all got out of the pods, with the aid of Alopex, Tiger Claw, Mona, Rebecca and Honeycutt.
Then Shredder, Hun, the Elite Guard and several Foot Ninjas appeared by the door, making everyone look with shock.
"And even though we escaped from that rather dangerous illusion, we now find ourselves facing the threats of our reality."
Alex glared at the Shredder, who laughed, so confident he'll finally win.
Alex, the Turtles, Splinter, Alopex, Tiger Claw, Mona, Rebecca, Mortu and Honeycutt all stared at Shredder and his forces, all ready to fight except for Honeycutt.
"Attack! Destroy them all!" Shredder ordered his forces.
Stockman laughed menacingly, drawing Honeycutt's attention.
"Oh, dear. And I thought I was stuck with an unpleasant robot body." He said, very much disturbed by the fact that Stockman had a robotic spider body.
Stockman fired jolts of red electricity from his pincers at Honeycutt, knocking him into the pods.
"PROFESSOR!" Mona cried out before turning back to growl at Stockman. "YOU'LL PAY FOR THAT, YOU STUPID BUG!"
"My sons, attack!" Splinter declared.
He, his sons, even Alopex, Tiger Claw and Mona all unleashed battle cries as they charged at Shredder and his forces.
Leo blocked a ninja's katana with his pair of katanas as Alex slid between the legs of another, slicing their legs before flipping and kicking them in the back, making them crash onto the floor.
The five Elite Guard charged at Mortu and Rebecca as four other Guardians, including the blue haired man, stormed in.
"Protect Mr. Mortu!" The blue haired man ordered.
They charged before leaping in the air and landed in between the Elite Guard and Mortu and Rebecca, who joined their side and charged at the Guard.
A Guardian with little hair blocked the Guard with the spear, the African American Guardian blocked the Guard with the double headed battle axe, the blue haired man blocked the Guard with the double bladed sword and Rebecca blocked the Guard with the nagamaki.
Both Alopex and Tiger Claw were back to back, facing two ninjas each. Tiger Claw roared as he swung his machete at the two ninjas, making them jump back while Alopex blocked one's katana and kicked the other in the face, knocking them back.
Tiger Claw ducked and turned as Alopex swapped positions and slashed at the two ninjas with her kamas and dug one of them into one of their shoulders while Tiger Claw lifted the one ninja with his free hand and slammed him onto the ground with his raw strength.
Hun faced Splinter, spinning to kick him, but was blocked by his walking stick, which he then lifted over his head and then whacked him right into a pod across the room.
Mortu delivered a roundhouse at a Foot Ninja that leapt at him, knocking him away, before turning to see Shredder staring him down while both Mikey and Mona were fighting some ninjas nearby.
"Mortu, I have anticipated this moment for nearly ten centuries!" Shredder sneered as he raised his gauntlet.
"I'm surprised that with your genius, it took you a thousand years to find us!" Mortu mocked as his exo-suit raised its arms in a fighting position.
The two then jumped at each other.
Shredder thrust his gauntlet at Mortu, who flipped on said gauntlet and landed behind Shredder and ducked when Shredder tried kicking him before sweeping for Shredder's legs, but he flipped away.
"Looks like what Mortu in the virtual reality said is true!" Leo said, having heard the conversation while blocking a ninja's katana before kicking them away.
"Yes, that the Shredder is the prisoner they were transporting before crashing to Earth." Splinter after blocking another ninja's katana and whacking them away with his walking stick.
"I told you guys that the Shredder wasn't human!" Alex reminded them as he sliced a ninja in the chest before kicking them in the crotch while he was currently fighting alongside Tiger Claw, who then grabbed Alex's arm and lifted him in the air to make him kick another ninja in the face, breaking their nose.
Mortu blocked a kick from Shredder with one of his arms and then dodged a slice from Shredder's gauntlet.
Hun came behind Mortu and wrapped his arms around him, holding him in place for Shredder to strike him down with ease.
"Finally." Shredder said with glee as he approached and then raised his gauntlet.
He was about to strike when three Utroms on hover pods flew in and fired their lasers at him and Hun, making the former stop his strike and the latter to let go of Mortu, who ran off.
Finding them an annoyance, Shredder leapt up and grabbed two of them, pulling their hover pods down before slamming them onto the floor before jumping up and split kicking a couple more, knocking them away.
One of the Utroms groaned as they were knocked out of their hover pod.
The Elite Guard with the battle axe landed next to him and raised his weapon, ready to strike the Utrom down.
He whimpered in horror when Leo grabbed him and flipped away just as the Guard swung his axe down where the Utrom was a moment ago.
Leo turned to face the Guard as he tried pulling his axe out of the floor and kicked him away.
Then the Guard with the spear landed beside Leo and thrust his spear towards the Utrom, who Leo moved away, and again when the Guard tried hitting the small alien. He then pulled the Utrom away from three thrusts before stepping back.
"Sorry about this." He told the Utrom before turning to Donnie. "Donnie, go long!"
He threw the Utrom towards Donnie, who caught him as the Guard with the nagamaki charged at him. Alopex appeared and corkscrew kicked the Guard away, making them fly towards Alex, who clotheslined him right in the throat and then stomped on his head, knocking him down.
Donnie then placed the Utrom back on their hover pod, where they let out a sigh of relief.
Raph, Mona and Mikey watched as Stockman approached them.
"At last, it's time I finally had my revenge on you annoying mutations and your human brat." Stockman sneered.
"Stockman?" Raph questioned as he and Mikey put their weapons on their belts, though Mona still kept hers out. "I almost didn't recognise you. New haircut?"
Stockman gritted his teeth before shooting jolts of red electricity at him, Mona and Mikey, which launched them into a wall before crashing onto the ground.
Stockman laughed as he shot more jolts at them, though the three of them jumped out of the way.
Mortu threw a punch at Shredder, who blocked his attack before unleashing a spin kick, which knocked Mortu back, making him crash onto the ground so hard he popped out of his exo-suit just as Alex and Leo knocked back Hun and Rebecca swept the Guard with the trident off his feet and axe kicked him in the stomach.
Shredder then noticed Stockman trying to fire blasts at Raph, Mona and Mikey, who kept dodging them.
"Stockman, hold!" He barked. "You have more important business!"
"Never! My revenge comes first!" Stockman snapped at him before he went back to firing blasts at Raph, Mona and Mikey, who kept dodging them.
"I said hold!" Shredder snapped angrily before his red eyes started glowing, leading to Stockman being electrocuted until it stopped and Shredder approached him.
"Implement phase three now!" Shredder demanded.
"Yes, Master." Stockman replied, straining, like he was struggling to follow Shredder's command, before crawling off. "The device will soon be under your control."
Mortu pulled himself up onto his tentacles and gasped, realising what he was talking about.
"The device." He gasped in horror before Donnie picked him up and put him back into his exo-suit. "The transmat!"
He watched as Stockman crawled out of the room and the door closed behind him before he got up on his feet.
"We must stop that cyborg before -" Mortu cut himself off when he saw Hun and two of the Elite Guard stand in front of the door, blocking the way.
Everyone all turned to Shredder when he laughed.
"You will go nowhere!" He sneered.
"PISS OFF!" Alex roared as he leapt in and kicked Shredder right into a cocoon that trapped him.
Mortu ran over to the control panel and pressed some buttons, making the cocoon pull Shredder in and trap his whole body inside. Hun, one of the Elite Guards that stood with him and a Foot Ninja ran over to the cocoon and started pulling at it to free Shredder.
Leo blocked the Guard with the battle axe as Alex blocked the Guard with the nagamaki, Mikey faced the Guard with the spear, Tiger Claw faced the Guard with the double bladed sword and Donnie kicked a ninja away.
As all this happened, Mortu, the Utroms and Honeycutt ran for the door with the Guardians, including Rebecca.
"We will return to assist you as soon as the transmat is secure!" Mortu informed Alex, the Turtles, Splinter, Alopex, Tiger Claw and Mona as the door opened and they ran through before the door closed back up.
Hun pulled on the cocoon as the Guard with the trident stabbed at it before Shredder broke free.
"After the Utrom now!" Shredder commanded furiously.
He, Hun and the Elite Guard charged for the door, but everyone stood in their way.
"You're gonna have to go through us first, you pathetic cheesegrater!" Alopex hissed as she twirled her kamas.
"You're not worth wasting my time." Shredder spat with contempt before turning to a panel next to him.
He pressed some buttons and a cover formed around the door before liquid from the cocoons spilled out and hit everyone, causing them to yelp as the current pulled them away.
A large tube then popped out of the way and towards the pods, allowing Shredder, Hun and the Elite Guard to run out of the chamber and the tube pulled itself back through the wall, which closed up.
Everyone, minus Donnie, as he was working on the panel, ran towards a wall and banged against it, but nothing happened as the liquid rose higher and higher.
"It's no good! I can't work these controls!" Donnie gasped before making his way to everyone else.
"And despite growing up with the Utroms, neither of us bothered trying to learn how to work this tech!" Alopex said with regret, referring to herself and Tiger Claw.
Leo sliced through the wall, shocked to see that it was healing itself.
"Of course, I forgot, this whole place is techno-organic!" Alex said upon seeing this, looking over at Donnie, who started remembering.
"Exactly. So we need to think a little less techno and a little more organic." Donnie reasoned. He then whacked his bo staff against the wall, making it quiver and shake. "See? The walls have techno-organic nerve endings. They can feel." He then turned to everyone. "Just follow my rhythm."
He then whacked the wall again.
"If we can agitate the nerve endings just so…" He then said as everyone started whacking their weapons against the wall.
The whole room started rumbling, quivering and groaning, and everyone stopped when noticing the liquid rising up and bubbling.
"SHE'S GONNA BLOW!" Alex bellowed at the top of his lungs.
Everyone then yelled as the liquid gushed up and sent them right towards the ceiling, where they burst through and landed on the floor above.
Alopex ended up landing on top of Alex.
"Okay, that was nasty." Mikey cringed as he stood.
"I'm convincing myself that it was milk to avoid throwing up." Alex shuddered as he noticed Alopex on top of him, her wet tail right in front of his face, making him blush. "Uh, Alopex, can you please get off me?"
"Oh, sorry!" She squeaked and got off him right away, looking a bit embarrassed while Alex got to his feet.
Outside of the TCRI building, the military still surrounded the place and the general was on the phone, talking to the mayor of New York while standing next to a news van with a reporter making a live broadcast.
"Look, Mr. Mayor, I don't care what kind of media fiasco you think this is!" The general snapped. "My orders are to get into that building to investigate those flashes of light!" He then turned to his men. "All units, move in!"
Some soldiers stormed up to the building and finally entered.
However, they didn't go too far as robots showed and started firing stun blasts towards the soldiers.
One soldier ran out from cover while the others fired back at the robots, dragging a downed soldier back outside of the building.
Two of the soldiers got hit by some rifle shots, which destroyed them.
Then came two soldiers with rocket launchers and fired at all of the robots, destroying them all at once.
Over at the Battle Shell, Casey watched what was going on and had enough of it. Meanwhile, April was in the back, changing out of her current clothes.
"We can't sit around anymore." She insisted. "We need to know what's going on in there."
She threw her jeans, top and blazer onto the front passenger seat as she continued changing.
"The authorities won't talk to us, but they might talk to a TV news reporter." She then said as she walked up to Casey, now wearing a one piece yellow jumpsuit with the sleeves rolled up to the elbows, the number nine pinned to the right of her chest and holding a microphone. "How do I look?"
He turned to look at her and wasn't exactly impressed.
"Uh… great., if you're removing toxic waste." He replied, making her grumble angrily as she punched his arm. "OW!"
"You're no help." April moaned before picking up a fake camera. "Can you at least be my cameraman?"
"Do I have a choice?" Casey replied sarcastically, already knowing the answer as she handed it to him.
Inside the transmat room, Honeycutt stood by the device itself while Mortu, some Utroms and the Guardians, including Rebecca stood in front, ready for an attack.
"Guardians, be ready for anything." Mortu told the Guardians, who readied themselves.
But then a couple of red balls appeared on the floor in front of them and started sparking, making them jump back as they were smoke grenades, gushing out a smokescreen.
Shredder then stepped through the smokescreen and the Utroms started firing lasers at him, but their shots just bounced off his armour and they stopped, seeing it was futile.
"STAY BACK! I WILL NOT LET YOU DESTROY THE TRANSMAT!" Mortu raged.
But Shredder punched him with his gauntlet so hard he got launched onto the platform of the transmat.
"I do not intend to destroy it, Mortu. I will use it to send you to your doom." Shredder sneered as Hun and the Elite Guard entered. "Perhaps I'll place you in the extreme heat of a supernova, or the cold endless vacuum of space!"
Mortu looked horrified as Honeycutt got electrocuted by Stockman and was sent flying onto the platform.
"And you're just the beginning." Shredder continued. "After I've disposed of you, I will use this device to conquer the homeworld of the Utroms, and I'll destroy every last one of your kind, Mortu!"
"You really have a knack of claiming victory too soon, you overconfident kitchen appliance!" Alex's voice roared, making Shredder turn to see him, the Turtles, Splinter, Alopex, Tiger Claw and Mona by the doorway with their weapons at the ready.
"Remember us?" Raph inquired as he twirled his sais.
"Aw! I grow tired of you creatures and your constant interference!" Shredder groaned. "Elite Ninja, attack!"
The Elite Guard all charged at the group and the fighting got started again.
"Stockman, power up the transmat! Finish Mortu and his friends!" Shredder then commanded Stockman.
"Yes, Master," Stockman said robotically.
Leo faced against the Guard with the spear, sending slashes that were blocked and then jumped over him when he tried to hit him and then away from him when he tried to slash at him. Leo then blocked him as he jumped after him.
"We have to stop Stockman!" Leo told everyone before he kicked the Guard away as Mikey back flipped onto a platform the Guard with the trident jumping after him.
"And here I am fresh out of bug spray." He said, dodging a few thrusts before knocking the Guard off the platform.
"Stockman seems to be forced to do as Shredder commands!" Alex pointed out as he faced the Guard with the nagamaki, dodging his slashes, thrusts and strikes before elbowing him in the stomach and then kicking him off the pipe they were on. "Any ideas, Donnie?"
"Stockman must have a control chip planted inside him." Donnie theorised as he blocked the Guard with the double bladed sword before jumping around him to avoid being hit. "And it has to be voice activated!"
"Well, do something about it!" Alopex urged as she and Mona were paired up as they faced the Guard with the battle axe after he was beaten by Raph a moment ago. He tried swinging at their heads, but Mona ducked and Alopex jumped over him. Mona whipped her tail at his legs, sweeping him off his feet and Alopex then kicked him towards Tiger Claw, who kicked him right into the wall, knocking him out.
Donnie pole vaulted towards the platform as Stockman worked on the controls.
"Psst, Professor Honeycutt." Donnie whispered, getting his attention. "Can your audio processor replicate any sound?"
"Of course." Honeycutt replied.
"We need your best impersonation of the Shredder now." Donnie urged him.
Honeycutt's body started beeping as he tweaked his audio processor.
"Stockman, step away from the controls." He said, sounding exactly like the Shredder.
Stockman did as he was told and turned away from the controls.
"Stockman, don't listen to him!" Shredder snapped. "You obey only me!"
"Don't listen to him." Honeycutt cut in, still with Shredder's voice. "Override all voice command protocols.
Electricity surged through the control chip in Stockman's head until it stopped and he shook his head, realising he was now no longer forced to work for the Shredder.
"I'm… I'm free!" He grinned. "I obey no one now!"
Then he launched himself onto Shredder's stomach and sent a strong surge of electricity through his armour, making him yell in agony.
"Who's in charge now, Maste?" Stockman mocked as Shredder started stumbling.
"No!" He groaned, the electricity knocking Hun back. "No! NO!"
Everyone landed together nearby as Shredder got close enough to the canisters of ooze that the electrical surge shattered them and knocked them over.
Soon, the electrical surge stopped, leaving the armour steaming up, as Shredder started falling backwards.
"NO!" He yelled before hitting the floor.
"I'm free! Free of him at last!" Stockma shouted in glee before laughing and crawling away.
Hun and the Elite Guard all ran to their master and gathered around him.
"Master." Hun said concerningly before he picked him up.
"Do you think the Shredder is -?" Leo questioned.
"We'll be back, freaks!" Hun snarled.
That's when Shredder dropped a device that bounced along the floor as Hun and the Elite Guard fled out of the room.
Once it stopped, a ten minute timer appeared on the device and soon started counting down. Then red lines came out and spread all along the floor and all over the room within seconds.
Donnie approached it and reached out for it when Mortu ran up to him.
"DO NOT TOUCH IT!" He bellowed out. "It's an Utrom implosion device! The techno-organic virus it contains would destroy you!"
Donnie backed away from it.
"Already it has thoroughly infected the system." Mortu said as he ran towards the control panel. "The entire building will implode in less than ten minutes!"
This news made everyone gasp in utter horror before they turned to the device.
"Can you stop it?" Donnie asked in a panicked voice.
"No." Mortu replied as another Utrom in an exo-suit worked on the controls. "Unfortunately the virus was comprehensive. It spread too quickly."
"So Shredder found a way to stick it to us even in defeat." Raph noted.
"AH! He's nothing but a sore loser!" Alex snarled with disgust.
"So desperate to destroy his enemies, despicable." Tiger Claw snarled in agreement.
Back in the lobby, the soldiers were still in a firefight with the robots until one soldier ran out from cover and shot the remaining robots, destroying them in seconds.
"Alpha Leader to General, all clear." The soldier in charge reported. "Let's go! Move out!"
They all now started making their way up the stairs.
Back in the transmat room, Mortu looked at the controls when a holographic screen popped out, showing the Council.
"The human troops -" The chubby man started.
" - are making their way -" The elderly man continued.
" - deeper into the building." The woman finished.
"They need to get out of here before the place implodes!" Alex said with concern.
"The lower floors are completely sealed off! There's no way to contact them!" Mortu replied.
"There must be someone on the outside we can contact!" Leo said frantically.
"We already do. A couple of them, in fact." Alex said, sharing a look with Raph, who grinned.
Back outside, April and Casey walked through the barricades and towards the general and his aide.
"General, April O'Neil, Channel 9 News." April said, making the general turn to her as the number on her chest turned upside down. "Uh, Channel 6 News. What can you tell us about the situation inside?"
"Reporters? I said keep them back behind the barricades!" The general snapped at his aide, who pushed April and Casey back to behind the barricades.
"Sir, the people have a right to know! General!" April shouted as they reached the barricades and the aide walked back to the general.
Then her and Casey's earpieces connected to the shell-cells beeped.
"April, Casey, it's me, Leo." Leo spoke to them.
"Hello?" They both said in unison, shocked and surprised to hear him.
"Leo? Oh, my gosh. I can't believe I'm hearing your voice!" April said in relief.
"Me neither. When did you get three way calling?" Casey asked, making April elbow him in the chest. "OW! What?"
"Hello. Alive?" April reminded him.
"Oh, right. Whoo-hoo!" Casey cheered.
"Listen, you have to get a message out to evacuate the building. It's gonna self-destruct in about six minutes." Leo explained the situation, shocking the pair.
And so they walked up to the general and his aide again.
"General, my station manager just received an urgent message from a terrorist organisation -"
"Goongala Cowabunga." Casey suggested, which earned him a glare from April.
"They're gonna blow up the building. You have to get your men outta there and -"
"I thought I told you to keep those lunatics behind the barricades!" The general snapped at his aide, refusing to listen.
"But, General -" April insisted as she and Casey were pushed back to the barricades.
In the transmat room, the implosion device now had under five and a half minutes left on the timer as all the Guardians and remaining Utroms, excluding the Council, stormed into the room.
"Mr. Mortu, the transmat is powered up." The Utrom working on the controls informed.
"Primary team, assemble on the platform. You're going home." Mortu instructed.
A couple of Utroms in exo-suits knelt down and climbed out of their suits.
"I hate walking on my tentacles!" One of them whined.
"Oh, shut up, Krang!" The other snapped.
Mortu then instructed a Guardian to go with them, who stepped onto the platform.
The transmat then powered up and the three dematerialised in a bright light.
Outside, the light shot up out of the building, getting everyone's attention and even spooking the general.
"What the -?" He said, unsure of what's going, realising he should listen to April. "Uh, how time did you say we have to evacuate?"
This made April grin, seeing he was going to listen.
Inside the building, as some soldiers were making their way through some smoke, one of them heard growling from nearby.
He turned and saw two figures walking among the smoke. One looked like an average sized being but the other was some kind of large, scaly creature.
He was gonna investigate, but the general informed him of his new orders via the comms.
"Everyone pull out! General's orders. Move it, move it, move it!" He ordered and everyone ran back to the lobby.
In the transmat room, the Council showed up as the implosion device now only had four minutes remaining.
"Mortu, we are the last." The chubby one said as Mortu bowed.
"The others have been evacuated." The elderly one explained.
"Secondary team will accompany the Council." Mortu instructed as three of the Guardians, including the blue haired man, approached the Council.
Their desks opened up, revealing the three navigators in fishbowls.
They floated towards the three Guardians, who took each of them and stood on the platform.
"It is good to be going home." The three navigators said.
"Professor Honeycutt, would you care to join us?" Mortu offered to Honeycutt. "We would gladly offer you asylum on our homeworld."
"Really? Me? To live among an advanced, peaceful civilisation where I can use my knowledge and skills for good? It's a dream come true!" He said, very eager about the offer, but he then turned to Alex, the Turtles and Mona, who all smiled at him, Mona's eyes welling up.
"But, my friends, I will miss you." He said to all of them. "I can't thank you enough."
Mona embraced Honeycutt and curled her tail around his back as he embraced her back.
"You take care of yourself, you hear? I will miss you, too, my friend." She said as a tear went down her face.
Once they broke apart, Honeycutt walked up onto the platform.
"You sure you three want to stay on Earth?" Mortu then asked Rebecca, Alopex and Tiger Claw.
"I am. To have my son in my life, I can't just walk out of it. I want to be part of his family." Rebecca replied, looking over at Alex, who smiled, knowing she'll stay.
"And since Rebecca raised us and we've grown up on Earth, we're staying home." Alopex spoke for herself and Tiger Claw, who nodded.
"As you wish." Mortu said with a bow.
"We can't thank you enough, Mortu. For everything." Alex told Mortu gratefully.
Mikey started sniffling.
"Man, I hate long goodbyes." He told Raph before hugging him tightly as he started crying.
The timer on the implosion device was now at just over three minutes.
"It has been an honour to know you and your race, Mortu-san." Splinter told Mortu as he bowed.
"It is we who are honoured, Master Splinter." Mortu bowed. "Before we leave, we have small tokens of appreciation for both you and Alexander."
Alex stepped forward as a couple of glass orbs appeared in Mortu's hands.
Both Alex and Splinter grabbed each of them and they lit up brightly.
Splinter now found himself in Yoshi's old dojo, where he lived when he was a normal rat. His eyes widened upon seeing Yoshi, who performed some katas before turning to him.
"Your Master Yoshi was among the two most loyal Guardians that ever served the Utrom." Mortu explained to Splinter as he and Yoshi bowed to each other. "He gave his life to protect us, but his spirit lives in our collective history."
Alex found himself standing in a dojo as well, seeing a man stand in front of him. He looked like an older version of him, just with grey eyes instead of blue. And he smiled so proudly at him.
"And your father, Lance Reed, was the other who was the most loyal of Guardians. He bravely stood up to Shredder so that you and Rebecca could live. He will never be forgotten." Mortu told Alex.
The two were back in reality and they shed tears at these gifts.
"Thank you so much, Mortu." Alex said, happy to have something to remember his biological father.
He and Splinter then put the spheres away.
"And now, my friends, you must leave this building while you still can." Mortu said, crouching down and exiting his exo-suit. "Donatello, if you would do me the honour of powering up the transmat?"
"Sweet. I'm all over it." Donnie said eagerly.
He approached the control panel just as Mortu got onto the platform when some shurikens hit the panel, causing it to short circuit with a jolt of electricity destroying the exo-suits.
Everyone turned to see Shredder, Hun and the Elite Guard show up.
"As long as I live, you will not leave this place alive!" Shredder sneered as he raised his gauntlet.
"You keep saying that, yet you keep being wrong!" Alex roared in annoyance at him being back on his feet yet again.
Shredder roared at this before he leapt at the group, kicking Leo away and swept Raph, Mona and Splinter off their feet.
Mikey and Donnie charged at him, but he punched them away.
Alex, Alopex, Tiger Claw and Rebecca all charged at him, but he kicked Tiger Claw away and punched Alex, Alopex and Rebecca in their chests.
"Our thousand year struggle ends now!" Shredder snarled as he approached the platform.
The blue haired Guardian pulled his sword out.
Just as Shredder started to approach, Alex and Leo kicked him in the face and chest, making him twirl around for Donnie to whack his staff into his face.
Shredder tried slicing at him, but Raph and Mona kicked his head and dodged a slice from him.
Mikey then kicked his face, knocking him towards Tiger Claw, who tackled him onto the platform before flipping away and both Alopex and Rebecca axe kicked his face and chest before jumping away from a slice by Shredder.
He got up as Splinter landed in front of him and kicked him away from the platform.
"You three protect your masters." Alex told the Guardians as Donnie ran for the control panel. "We'll keep Shredder busy."
"Let me finish the freaks." Hun insisted to Shredder, who shoved an Elite Guard away from helping him up.
"No! They are mine!" Shredder snarled as he got up. "You and the others track down Stockman. He is still of some use to me."
Hun and the Elite Guard all ran out of the room as Shredder spotted Donnie working on the control panel.
"No!" He shouted as Donnie fixed the control panel and slammed his fist on it to get it functional.
"We shall meet again." The blue haired Guardian promised as blue light consumed him and everyone else on the platform.
"After ten centuries, I will not be denied my revenge!" Shredder growled.
"Oh, yes you will be!" Alex growled back as Shredder ran for the platform.
Then everyone on the platform dematerialised before Shredder could get to them.
His eyes were filled with defeat, seeing that his revenge was indeed denied. Then his eyes were filled with fury and rage at Alex, the Turtles, Splinter, Alopex, Mona, Tiger Claw and Rebecca.
"You. You have been little more than thorns in my side, but now, you have robbed me of my triumph, and for that, you shall pay with your lives!" Shredder snarled with the deepest loathing.
He then swung his gauntlet down, which was blocked by Splinter's walking stick.
"Shredder, there is no time! The building is about to implode!" Splinter reminded him. "Even you could not survive!"
Shredder then sliced his walking stick in half
"Then we shall all perish together!" Shredder swore.
"Not all, just you!" Alex swore back.
Donnie yelled as he threw his bo staff at Shredder, which broke in two as he caught it.
Shredder then kicked him away near the implosion device, which now had just under a minute and a half remaining.
Shredder then kicked Splinter and Rebecca into the control panel before Mikey kicked him back and whacked his nunchucks at him.
Mona then came in and slashed her sword at Shredder and whipped her tail at him, knocking him back slightly.
Raph threw his sais at Shredder, who flipped in the air and caught them before kicking him and Mikey away, the latter into the exo-suits.
Alopex came in and butterfly kicked Shredder, who blocked her and punched her away as Tiger Claw charged in and swung his machete at Shredder, who deflected the attack and kicked him away as well.
Then both Alex and Leo slashed at Shredder, knocking him onto his back and Raph's sais stabbed into the floor.
"Thanks." Raph said as he grabbed his sais.
Shredder got up as most with bladed weapons surrounded him.
Raph and Mona charged at Shredder and slashed their weapon at him, causing electricity to spark out as he yelled in pain.
Alopex and Tiger Claw leapt in and sliced open Shredder's back and legs, causing more electricity to spark out and then Alex and Leo did the same on Shredder's arms and sides.
"Guys, use your weapons to penetrate his armour!" Donnie instructed as he went up to the control panel and kicked open a cover beneath it. "I think we can stop him for good!"
Leo tossed one of his katanas towards Splinter, who caught it, and then jumped up and sliced some of his armour open.
Alex, Leo, Raph and Mona all charged in and stabbed their weapons into Shredder's armour.
Same for Alopex, Tiger Claw and Rebecca.
Then Mikey threw his nunchucks, which dug into Shredder's shoulders.
"You pathetic creatures cannot hurt me!" Shredder moaned in pain.
"What we're seeing suggests otherwise! HIT IT, DONNIE!" Alex yelled.
Donnie connected two wires, making electricity jump out and hit Shredder directly, making him scream in pure agony.
Then he landed on the floor on his back and everyone surrounded and looked down on him.
Steam then came out of his stomach before his whole chest and stomach opened up as a pair of eyes opened up.
Then out came the red Utrom with the purple scar over his left eye.
"Not so tough without your armour now, you wad of chewed up gum!" Alex snarled.
The Utrom growled and leapt at him, only to get spin kicked by Alex, flying right for Splinter, who whacked him hard into a wall with one end of his walking stick before landing on the floor and crawled away to hide.
Donnie turned to the implosion device, seeing that they now had only twelve seconds left, so he ran to the control panel and pressed some buttons.
"Guys, quick! I've got the transmat recalibrated!" He told everyone, who all ran to the platform.
"Let's hope wherever we're going is better than the last place we went!" Leo said.
Shredder came out of hiding just as they had nine seconds left.
Everyone got on the platform and just as Shredder leapt to reach them, they dematerialised and he landed on the platform.
He then screamed at the top of his lungs just as the timer reached zero.
The TCRI building was consumed in a bright light, making the soldiers run for cover and both April and Casey ran to get behind the Battle Shell.
They crouched down and shielded their eyes until the light vanished.
They peeked out from behind the Battle Shell and saw that the building was completely gone.
The soldiers all gathered around the large hole that was left behind, which started filling up with water.
"The guys…" Casey turned to April, worried for their friends.
But then a bright light appeared over the Battle Shell before Alex, the Turtles, Splinter, Alopex, Tiger Claw, Rebecca and Mona appeared, all yelling as they fell and landed on top of the vehicle, some on top of each other.
"Well, I got us out, but apparently I neglected to get us down." Donnie said.
"You tend to neglect something." Alex groaned as his back hit metal directly.
"Guys, Master Splinter, you're alive!" April grinned with joy, getting everyone's attention.
Alex and the Turtles all cheered as they and everyone else got off the Battle Shell and embraced April and Casey.
"Good to see you." Raph grinned as Casey embraced him from the side.
"Uh, what's with the get up? Don't tell me you became a reporter within eight hours." Alex said, confused by April's appearance.
"In another lifetime, maybe." April huffed as she threw the microphone away. Then she noticed Mona, Alopex, Tiger Claw and Rebecca. "And who are they?"
"April, Casey, meet Mona Lisa." Alex introduced, Mona waving. "Alopex." She giggled and gave a cute wave. "Tiger Claw." He bowed to April and Casey. "And Rebecca Reed, my mother."
"Your mother?" April and Casey gasped in shock.
"I suggest we continue our introductions and reunion in a less conspicuous place." Splinter pointed out as sirens rang in the air, thanks to some ambulances that showed up.
Everyone piled into the Battle Shell, strapping in or holding onto the ceiling, due to four more inside. Alex got behind the driver's seat while got in the passenger seat next to him.
"So, do you truly think we've truly seen the last of the Shredder this time?" Leo asked as April came up between Alex and Leo.
"The Shredder? Don't tell me he was in there, too." She said in shock.
Alex and Leo looked at each other as Alex kickstarted the Battle Shell and drove down the street.
"Boy, have we got a story to tell you!" Alex and the Turtles all said in unison.
*Sighs* Finally, for five episodes after this, it's standalone episodes! Writing nothing but continuous arcs since Notes from the Underground can be taxing.
And I know you're wondering who that extra figure was with a familiar crocodile. You'll just have to wait and see.
Btw, I personally prefer April when she's not a reporter. Just simply because she can directly help the Turtles more.
