Modern Love - The Return of Nano
At night, at the closed Coney Island amusement park, Alex, the Turtles, excluding Donnie, Alopex, Tiger Claw, Mona Lisa and Casey stood together with their weapons out, looking around.
"You're probably confused as to why we're in the middle of a rather creepy amusement park in the middle of the night. Well, we're looking for something… or rather something is looking for us."
Soon, a shadow came over Raph and Mona.
Everyone turned and saw a truly gigantic robot made up of various parts of different rides approach the eight of them.
"That something being a huge robot made up of different amusement rides that wants to attack us."
The robot slammed its fist down at the group, who all jumped away before they could get hit.
Everyone, excluding Casey, landed on their feet and faced the robot before charging at it.
"Of course, we have to attack it to make it stop."
Raph got ahead of everyone else and jumped up and dug his sais into one of the robot's legs before the robot grabbed him with a hand made up of a fake dragon.
"That is if the robot doesn't squash us into pancakes!"
Raph struggled to keep the jaw open to prevent it from squashing him.
Within the bathroom of the lair, as Mona was taking a shower, April stood in front of a sink and mirror, wearing a bathrobe, slippers, a green mask on her face and a towel wrapped around her hair.
She then held up her toothbrush and squeezed her tube of toothpaste, only for a small amount to end up on her toothbrush.
"Somebody took my toothpaste again?" She groaned in frustration.
"All of us use our own toothpaste, April. Well, except Mikey, he's your culprit. He's been using everyone's toothpaste." Mona told her as she came out of the shower, a towel wrapped around her head and waist.
"I didn't even know turtles had teeth." April muttered, making Mona chuckle.
April then stormed out of the bathroom.
"Yahoo! Whoo!" Mikey whooped, making April turn to her left and saw Mikey race towards her on a flying skateboard. "Watch out, April!"
April ducked as Mikey flew over her and made a u-turn.
"You're in the middle of my obstacle course!" Mikey informed April as he raced past her. "Whoa!"
He then performed a railslide on a sawhorse before racing around the lair, laughing and cheering.
He raced past the pool, where April saw Donnie sitting on the edge, strapped some flippers on with an oxygen tank strapped to his back.
"Don, all that amazing Utrom technology and you built Mikey a flying skateboard?" She admonished in annoyance.
"Well, you know Mikey, April." Donnie shrugged as he put on a diver's helmet, which was connected to the oxygen tank. "It's the only way I can get any peace."
"Without any consideration for all of ours, mind you!" Alex called him out as he sat with Tiger Claw up on the fire escape, arguing over which is the best Star Wars film: The Empire Strikes Back, which Tiger Claw was arguing for, or Return of the Jedi, which Alex was arguing for.
"Sorry." Donnie apologised.
April walked up to Donnie as he stood before jumping into the water, which splashed some all over April, making her yelp, as she stood too close to the pool.
"Ugh! Sewer water!" She groaned as she looked down at her toothbrush, which was covered in it, before growling at Donnie, who popped his head out, his helmet opened up.
"Actually, it's not sewer water." He corrected her. "It's coming from the river."
"Not making me feel better." She grumbled. "What are you doing down there?"
"I'm looking into building an access way. There are a lot of underwater tunnels that could be excavated to allow us a way into the river." Donnie explained as he adjusted the breathing tube and then closed up his helmet. "See you later!"
"Donatello, don't you -" April snapped, but Donnie dived into the pool, splashing more water at her. "This day just keeps getting better and better."
"INCOMING!" Mikey yelled, making April duck as he skated over her.
Alopex then jumped down next to April.
"Here you go, April." She handed her a towel.
"Thank you, Alopex." April said gratefully, taking the towel and wiped the water off of her. "It's nice having girls to hang out with."
"Trust me, with all the testosterone the boys bring, it's a blessing." Alopex whispered, making the two giggle.
Elsewhere, Splinter and Rebecca were watching the news as they sat on the couch.
"With innocent victims caught in the crossfire of rising gang violence…" News Anchor Dwight said as the words 'CITY AT WAR' appeared. "...the police are warning the public to stay off the streets in much of the city."
Mikey whooped as he skated towards the pair, who turned and ducked when he flew over them.
"Michelangelo, quiet!" Splinter hissed.
"Yeah, we're trying to watch the news!" Rebecca backed him up.
Mikey then hovered past them towards Donnie's lab, doing a barrel roll as he then flew towards Raph, who was doing some curls with a couple of dumbbells.
"Yahoo!" He whooped as he started circling around Raph. "Hey, Raph, check this out!"
Raph gritted his teeth in annoyance as he dropped his dumbbells and grabbed Mikey's flying skateboard as it neared him, spinning it to launch Mikey off.
Unfortunately, he was launched right towards April.
"Oh, no!" She gulped right before Mikey crashed into her and bounced on the floor so that he'd be on his shell and she'd be on top of her.
"Ooh, you might be in trouble, Raph!" Alex teased as he and Tiger Claw laughed, making Raph gasp in horror.
"Uh-oh." He muttered, throwing the board away as he ran to April and Mikey. "Sorry, April. I wasn't aiming him at you."
"Hey, getting flattened by mutants is just part of my new lifestyle." April grumbled as she was helped up by Raph.
"Yo, guys!" Casey called out as he exited the garage, wearing a green jumpsuit and carrying a tool bag. "Just letting you know I'm borrowing a ton of tools."
"At last, another human." April sighed with relief. "Well, almost."
"Hey!" Alex yelled in offence as Tiger Claw looked down at her with a raised eyebrow. "Me and my mom are human!"
"Sorry." April apologised, having forgotten that fact, before walking over to Casey. "Hey, Case, where you headed?"
"Coney Island. Promised a buddy I'd look at the ferris wheel for him." Casey replied. "Doing a little repair work on the side."
"Coney Island? I haven't been there since I was a kid. I love that place." April said, thinking back on fond memories of her childhood.
"Yeah? Me, too." Casey grinned. "You know, uh, you could come with me."
"Me?" April asked, surprised by the suggestion.
"Well, you're pretty good with a wrench." Casey pointed out as he twirled a wrench in his hand. "You could help."
"I'd love to! Um, I mean, yeah. Heh. That'd be great." April blushed.
"COMING THROUGH!" Mikey yelled as he was now back on his flying skateboard, flying past April and Casey as he was being chased by Raph, who growled.
"Uh, it would be nice to get out of here." April confessed to April. "I kind of got Turtles coming out my ears."
"I'll pick you up around 10:00. Hey, maybe we can grab a late night snack or something." Casey suggested before turning to walk away, but stopped and turned back. "But, uh, I mean, you know, it's not a date or anything, right?"
"Uh, absolutely. It's not a date." April said embarrassingly, turning around.
"Good." Casey nodded before turning away as well.
"Fine." April replied before they both walked off, all being watched by Alex, Tiger Claw and Alopex, who just joined them in the fire escape.
"Do you think those two would ever admit their feelings and get together?" Alopex asked the two boys.
"I honestly don't know. One's too shy and the other's clearly determined to ignore their feelings." Alex shrugged.
"I'm sure they will. They just need to hang out together on their own more." Tiger Claw expressed his opinion.
In the junkyard, a small piece of junk moved before a swarm of surviving nanobots that survived the fire pit roughly a year ago came out of the large pile they were trapped in.
It hovered throughout the junkyard until it spotted an old camera on top of a pile of parts.
The swarm approached these items and formed a small robot out of them.
Nano then noticed a television and walked towards it, sending some nanobots inside it to get it working.
It turned on and an old black and white sitcom started playing, showing a man, his wife and his son in the living room of their house. The parents sat down as they knitted or read the newspaper and the son sat on the floor, playing with some toys.
Nano stepped back and sat down to watch the sitcom.
"How was your day, mother?" The father asked, lowering the newspaper he was reading.
"Oh, the usual, father." The mother replied as she was knitting. "Junior has something to tell you. Don't you, junior?"
"Uh, I got an 'A' on my maths test, but I guess I kind of got in trouble for making a face in the class picture." The boy explained.
"Oh, junior, with shenanigans like that, how is a mother supposed to raise a family?" The mother said sternly.
"Family?" Nano said with a computerised voice.
The sitcom suddenly cut off and a news broadcast was being played, showing a female reporter standing in front of Rikers Island.
"And now for news break." She said before a bus is shown with a guard standing next to it. "Con man Harry 'The Schlub' Parker is being moved to Rikers Island Prison."
A prisoner stepped out of the bus and looked at the camera. Harry was Nano's 'father', having taken advantage of his abilities and his mentality being that of a child's to break in and rob stores.
Harry was then escorted into the prison by the guard before the reporter showed back up with an image of Harry next to her.
"Over the course of a four day crime spree, Parker made off with over a million dollars in diamonds and other valuables." She said.
Nano got up, having recognised Harry.
"Daddy!" He said with joy. He then turned to make his way out of the junkyard and free Harry. "Daddy! Daddy!"
Over at Rikers Island, various prisoners were doing all sorts of activities in the rec room. A couple of them were playing foosball, another couple were playing chess, and Harry was in the middle of playing poker with three other prisoners, using candies in place of poker chips.
"I'll see ya Crunchie Munchie and raise you a Razzle Dazzle." He said, throwing a chocolate bar into the pile in the middle.
This made two of the prisoners, one a buff African American and the other a bald Hispanic. The third, who had a mohawk, glared at Harry.
The other two moaned as they threw their cards on the table.
"Like taking candy from a bunch of babies." Harry laughed. "But you should see the candy I got stashed on the outside." He then stood up. "It sparkles real pretty." He then moved the pile of candies towards him. "Yes, boys, when I get out of here, I'm gonna live like a king!"
But then a card fell out of his left sleeve, which made the prisoners realise that Harry was cheating.
"Whoops." He muttered worriedly, watching them stand up and growl, the African American punching a fist.
"Uh, can't we discuss this like the sophisticated gentlemen we are?" Harry pleaded as he backed away towards a wall.
An electrical buzzing drew everyone's attention before the power went out.
"What was that?" Harry questioned frightfully.
Then the TV propped up on the wall started flashing to life before the frame pulled it off the wall, like they were legs and the plugs were pulled out of the sockets.
The prisoners all gasped and backed away as the TV crawled down the wall like a spider and started crawling up to Harry, who backed up towards another wall.
"Get away! Get away from me!" Harry begged as he pressed himself against the wall and covered his face.
Then the TV screen turned on, showing the happy face mask that Nano used previously.
"Daddy?" He said, the mask's mouth moving.
"What?" Harry muttered, shocked upon seeing that mask and hearing that voice. "Kid?"
Nano then fired six wires out, two at a couple of walls each and two for the ceiling. The nanobots then swarmed all over the wires and pulled pipes, vent shafts, a generator from the ceiling and both a light switch and a CD player, all making the prisoners run off.
Then Nano sent a vending machine flying right at himself and used all of this to form himself a new and much larger body, the TV being his head and the vending machine for his torso.
"Daddy!" Nano cried in happiness.
"Kid! You're alive!" Harry gasped happily, running up to him. "Boy, I did miss you. We are going straight back to the top. First up, take me to the loot, kid. It's high time I got my hands on all that sparkly diamond goodness again."
Three guards barged in the rec room through the double door and ran towards Harry and Nano as the alarm started going off.
"Hey, those men are bad, kid." Harry said to Nano, manipulating him further. "They're keeping your dear old innocent dad in here when he didn't do nothing!"
Nano frowned before he opened his chest up and shot out four wires that wrapped around Harry, pulling him inside his chest before closing it back up.
Harry then yelped as Nano started moving.
"Bad men move!" Nano yelled as he charged past the guards, shoving them out of the way.
"Oh, this is sweet!" Harry grinned before he saw that Nano was running towards a wall. "Uh-oh."
Upon reaching the wall, Nano started punching a hole through it and made it outside of the prison itself.
"Ba-da-bing, ba-da-boom!" Harry whooped as he started wobbling.
A couple of guards on two of the towers turned on spotlights and shined them down on Nano, who started running away.
"That's my boy!" Harry praised Nano, who was running to the shore as Harry started laughing at the fact he was now free.
Back in the lair, Alex and Donnie were working on a new vehicle in the garage, with April helping out as she was now dressed in a blue jumpsuit with a yellow scarf, ready to help Casey over at Coney Island.
Alex worked underneath the vehicle as Donnie worked on the side.
"Hey, April, hand me that ." Donnie requested.
April bent down and picked a wrench, handing it to Donnie, and then looked at her watch.
"It's almost 10:00. I've gotta clean up." She said, as she had grease on her face.
"Why? We're just gonna get dirty again." Casey argued as he entered the garage with his left hand behind his back.
"He's not wrong." Alex sided with Casey as he wiped some grease from his arms and face with a damp towel.
"I'd prefer not to wear grease in public." April replied, slightly embarrassed.
"I know we're just working on the ferris wheel, but…." Casey said as he stood in front of her, pulling a bouquet of flowers, most of the petals missing. "I guess some of the petals got blown off on the motorcycle. Heh."
"It's the thought that counts." April replied as she took the bouquet, moved by the gesture.
"So…" Leo's voice said, making the pair turn to see everyone looking at them with interest. "...where are you taking our April?"
"Guys, it's not a date." Casey insisted.
"Then why did you give April some flowers, hmm?" Mona asked, her tail slowly going back and forth.
"And when will you have her home, young man?" Splinter then asked, stepping forward.
"Everybody, knock it off!" April snapped as she wrapped her arm around Casey's and walked out of the garage. "It's not a date. It's just Casey, and we're just working a repair job. Now good night."
"Hmm." Everyone hummed in unison.
Later, everyone, except Splinter and Rebecca, watched the news, which was about Harry's breakout.
"File this one under B for bizarre." News Anchor Dwight reported. "Eyewitnesses to the strange escape of Harry Parker say that he was helped by machines that came to life."
Leo turned all the TVs off, leaving Alopex, Tiger Claw and Mona confused as Leo and his brothers all shared a knowing look with each other.
"Remind you of anything?" Leo asked his brothers.
"Yep. Looks like Harry's robo child is back up and running." Alex replied with a frown.
"But I thought it got toasted." Raph recollected.
"I guess some of the nanobots survived and rebuilt themselves." Donnie theorised.
"Then there had to have been a few of them, since it took them a year to do that." Alex pointed out.
"But why did you say 'robo child'?" Alopex asked.
"Because it had the mind and thought process of a small child. Which Harry took advantage of by manipulating him into stealing valuables, which still haven't been found." Alex replied.
"Oh, poor thing." Mona said sadly, her hands up to her mouth.
Donnie then pressed a button on a robot toy on the coffee table in front of him.
"It just seemed so… helpless." He said.
"Yeah, it was so helpless that it almost stomped us into pancakes last time!" Mikey retorted, punching his fist.
"But it wasn't his fault." Donnie argued as he stood. "That crook was teaching him to steal." He then turned to everyone. "I mean, imagine if Splinter had been evil. Or the Utroms were evil. All of us might be crooks instead of who we are."
"What are you saying, Donnie?" Tiger Claw asked, folding his arms.
"Yeah, what's your point?" Raph asked.
"We should help it, give it an alternative life, a chance it never had, like Master Splinter and the Utroms helped all of us." Donnie proposed.
"But, Donnie, he'd remember us for attacking him. He'd probably not want to try an alternative life from us." Alex pointed out.
"It doesn't hurt to try." Donnie insisted.
Everyone looked at each other all coming to the same decision.
"I just know we're gonna regret this." Raph grumbled.
"You and me both." Alex agreed with him.
"Where do we start looking?" Leo asked Donnie.
"Every good search starts at the source." Donnie replied.
Everyone gathered around Donnie when he started working on his computer at his research station next to his lab.
"There might be something on the nanobots themselves that will help us." Donnie said as a recording of nanobots played on the computer screen.
"I kept detailed records of the first time we came across this nanotechnology." He continued as he pressed a button to zoom in on the nanobots. "Just a little closer…" He then zoomed in again on one nanobot. "...and…" He paused the recording upon seeing something on the nanobot. "...that's it!"
He zoomed in once more, showing some numbers.
"A patent registration number. And if it's registered, its source can be found, especially with a little digging on the internet." Donnie explained, starting to type up and find the answer to the registration number.
Elsewhere, within a warehouse was a lab, where Dr. Marion Richards, the creator of the nanobots, was examining the new batch of nanobots she created in the containment field.
"Given the emotional imprinting of my first nanotechnology, I've rewritten the primary encryption, and -"
She was cut off from recording her journal when the whole lab shook and rumbled, making her look up and gasp as the vent shaft above her fell apart and Nano jumped down from it, landing in front of Marion with a happy look on his face.
"Mommy!" He cooed as he grabbed her.
"No! No!" She gasped in horror as she was lifted up and his chest opened up. "NO!"
Nano threw her in and she landed next to Harry.
"Calm down, lady. He ain't gonna hurt you. I don't think." He told her.
"Wait, I saw you on the news!" Marion frowned, recognising him. "You're that thief."
"Alleged thief." Harry frowned back. "And who the heck are you?"
"I am the inventor of this nanotechnology." Marion explained as their arms were lifted up.
"Then maybe you can explain what the heck he thinks he's doing." Harry said.
Nano unleashed four tendrils that grabbed and pulled various pieces of lab equipment towards him, where he'd then rearrange it all around him, while Harry and Marion held each other in fear and worry.
They gasped upon seeing that Nano was creating a living room, with an armchair, fireplace and pile of firewood being formed in front of them.
"What the -?" Harry exclaimed upon seeing framed pictures appearing on the mantelpiece. One of them being a drawing of him, Marion and Nano holding hands like they were a family.
The pair then gasped when large walls formed around them before a ceiling and a roof appeared, coming together to form a house. A small fence and mailbox then formed outside of the house.
They then shuddered when seeing Nano form a small body for himself with a TV for his head, smiling at them both.
Then a couch moved up behind them and they were forced to sit on it. Then a newspaper popped out of the right couch arm and was shoved into Harry's hands.
"Whoa!" He yelped.
"What the -?" Marion said as a ball of string and a pair of needles popped out of the left couch arm, shoved into her hands.
They stared at Nano, who sat down and started throwing a small ball up and catching it.
"Uh, I got an 'A' on my maths test." He said, imitating the kid on the sitcom he watched.
"He's gone kinda wacko." Harry said, turning to Marion. "I don't know what happened to him."
"You happened to him!" Marion snapped at him accusingly.
Nano watched on with a sad face, as this wasn't what he wanted.
"You know, lady, now that I met you, I ain't wondering why the kid ran away from here in the first place!" Harry snapped abc
"You can't talk to me like that, you lowlife!" Marion spat.
"Youse better get outta my face with that lowlife talk!" Harry snarled, all the while, Nano's face turned angry.
"Stop fighting! Stop! STOP!" He cried out, making the two stop arguing.
They turned to Nano, who shot nanobots out of his hands, making spikes form out of everywhere, making them gasp in horror as some got close to them.
"Mommy and daddy be happy now!" Nano demanded with anger.
"No, kid! Don't hurt us!" Harry begged as he and Marion held each other.
"Please stop!" Marion cried out as more spikes formed closer around them.
Harry started shuddering as Nano's face turned sad and made the spikes pull back a bit.
"You not happy?" Nano asked as the words 'ACCESSING MEMORY FILE' appeared on the TV screen.
The screen flickered until it played a recording of Harry breaking into the jewellery store the night after he and Nano first met.
He pulled his flashlight out of his duffel bag as he chuckled, looking around.
"Yeah." He chuckled upon reaching a glass display case that had various rings and bracelets among other things.
He then smashed it open with his flashlight.
"Heh. Yeah." He grinned as he put the jewellery into his duffel bag while Nano watched.
"You are my lucky break, kid." Harry said in the recording. "Take me to the loot, kid."
Then the words 'MEMORY FILE END' appeared and the recording stopped, Nano's face reappearing.
"Take me to the loot, kid." Harry's voice was repeated as Nano smiled.
"I make you happy." He told Harry.
He then raised his arms up and sent the nanobots all over the place.
"Here we go again." Harry muttered in fear as he and Marion held each other and closed their eyes.
The spikes all disappeared and the roof was ripped off as Nano, now in a much bigger body, stepped up and carried both Harry and Marion inside him.
"Make you happy." Nano grinned as Harry banged against a glass window and Marion screamed.
Nano walked up to a garage door and burst it open before marching through the city, denting a lamppost as he did so.
Elsewhere, everyone ran down a dark street, Donnie in the lead and Tiger Claw in the rear.
Soon, they turned to an alleyway and ran their way down until they stopped upon seeing the wrecked warehouse.
"This is it." Donnie pointed at the warehouse. "The patent registration lists this address."
"And it looks like nano-boy left the back door open for us." Raph noted.
They all ran into and entered the warehouse, using the same way Nano entered through, looking around the lab.
"I think we're too late." Leo said, since there's no sign of Harry or Nano.
"Where could they have gone to?" Alopex questioned, considering that this place was where Nano was created, after all.
"Uh, what is that all about?" Mona asked, pointing at what was left of the house Nano created.
"Whoa, looks like Dick and Jane Go Insane." Mikey remarked.
"It's as though he was trying to create a family." Tiger Claw theorised.
Alex narrowed his eyes as he turned around to see large footprints left behind by Nano.
"At least it'll be easy to track him down." He told everyone.
Over at the Coney Island amusement park, some people walked away from the gate as the park was now closed. A man then closed the gate, leaving just April and Casey within the park.
"Well, good night, Case." The man said before he walked away.
Casey and April then turned and walked.
"The place is all ours." Casey said. "But before we start work on the ferris wheel, let's check out the view from up there." He pointed up at a pirate themed rollercoaster as he stood on a crate.
"Aren't we supposed to be working?" April reminded him.
"Sheesh, April, live a little." Casey sighed as he turned to her. "Here, I'll give you a boost."
He bent down, but lost his footing and fell off, making April gasp as Casey placed his hands on her shoulders to keep him steady when he landed in front of her.
They blinked at each other before staring with affection.
"Uh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to." Casey blushed.
The two closed their eyes and started leaning in to kiss.
But then a loud thud was heard, making April look in the direction it came from. Then another loud thud was heard.
"What was that?" April asked fearfully.
"Uh, I didn't hear nothing." Casey said dreamily.
But the thuds were sounding like they were getting closer.
Soon, Nano appeared, barging through the gate.
"Oh, boy." Casey gulped upon seeing him.
Nano stopped and turned as he spotted a ticket stall had the words 'FAMILY FUN' on top as a sign. As well as a chest full of gold and jewels, which he picked up.
"Make daddy happy!" He said as some nanobots swarmed around the chest and made it phase through his body into the space Harry and Marion were held in. He then formed a hand and placed the chest in front of Harry.
"The jewels! My stash!" He grinned, recognising that it was all the stuff he stole from his crime spree a year ago. "But we hid them in that warehouse downtown, kid. What are they doing here in this amusement park?"
Nano formed a large face within the ceiling of the space they're in.
"I put here for families. They all see shiny pretty." Nano replied, making Harry look at the sign for the stand. "All for families."
"Great, kid, I'll just hang on to 'em." Harry replied, taking the chest greedily. "Now, uh, we had our fun and all, but it's over. See, I gotta go. I want to leave."
Nano's face turned sad, being hurt by his words.
"Just let me leave, okay?" Harry begged.
"And me, as well. Please, let me go." Marion begged as well.
"Leave? Go?" Nano said, starting to get angry, as he didn't want them to leave him alone. "No! No leave me! NO!"
He entered a rampage, smashing and squashing the ticket stall, ripping a part of the ferris wheel and throwing it right into another stall and stomped on another.
The Battle Shell showed up, driving right into the park before pulling over next to April and Casey. Leo then popped his head out of the passenger side window as Alex opened the right side door.
"So, how's the date going?" Leo asked as everyone started getting out, Mikey carrying a backpack.
"Am I glad to see you guys!" April said with relief.
"That thing's back, and it's going nuts, tearing up the place!." Casey informed them, pointing over at Nano, who snapped a support beam apart.
They all started at Nano, who now started stomping and punching the ferris wheel.
"NO LEAVE ME!" Nano cried out.
"I'm starting to have doubts about your idea, Donnie." Mona said concerningly.
"It's throwing a tantrum. We have to try to talk to it." Donnie insisted.
"Talk to it?" Raph questioned with disbelief at that idea.
Everyone, except April and Casey, ran up to Nano as he started pulling on some more support beams, standing in front of him.
"Uh, robot thingie…." Leo said, waving his arms to get his attention. "We mean you no harm. We don't want to fight."
Nano frowned, as he recognised Alex and the Turtles, and played a recording of part of their last encounter, showing the five brothers all slashing and whacking their weapons until Alex and Leo sliced off both his hands.
He glared at them before screaming as he unleashed nanobots all over the park, absorbing various parts from the different rides and stalls.
"I told you, Donnie!" Alex said as he grew concerned, watching Nano grow much larger than even when he last fought against Alex and his brothers.
Nano then yelled as everyone backed away with their weapons out, moving past a sign for height requirements for a ride, which was squashed by Nano stepping on it.
He then tried punching them, but they all jumped away in time as he left a large hole in the ground.
"Come on, the guys need help." Casey told April, and they ran towards their friends.
"Don, we have to shut it down, now!" Leo told Donnie as they all continued backing away from Nano.
"Well, it won't be easy." Donnie replied as April and Casey joined up with them. "It's composed of millions of tiny nanobots. You'd have to deactivate them all."
Nano then tried hitting Alex with the hand made up of a dragon's head, but Alex flipped away in time, landing next to Donnie.
"Well, if the nanobots are electronic in nature, do you think you can make an electromagnetic pulse to shut them all down?" He suggested to Donnie, whose eyes lit up.
"Of course! You're a genius!" He grinned, turning to everyone except April "You guys keep it busy! When I give the word, lure him to the rollercoaster!" He then turned to April. "April, I'll need your help!"
The two then ran off towards the rollercoaster.
"Hey, that sneaky little green nerd just stole my date!" Casey complained, earning raised eyebrows from Alopex and Mona.
"Did he say lure?" Mikey questioned. "How quaint. HOW THE HECK ARE WE SUPPOSED TO LURE IT?"
"LOOK OUT!" Tiger Claw cried out and everyone jumped away in time to avoid a punch from Nano.
Except for Casey, everyone landed on their feet and faced Nano before charging at him.
Alex, Leo and Tiger Claw leapt in the air and slashed their weapons at Nano's legs, which didn't even leave scratches.
Raph then leapt up and dug his sais into Nano's leg before being grabbed by him with his dragon hand.
"RAPH!" Mona cried out with worry as Nano tried squashing Raph, who was using all his strength to keep the hand open.
"Now I know what it feels like inside a trash compactor." He said, straining through the effort.
Leo then jumped up and sliced the hand loose, though he and Raph now fell to the ground, yelling as they did so, but were caught by both Mona and Tiger Claw.
"Thanks." Raph said to Mona as he got to his feet before the four of them jumped away from being stomped by a yelling Nano.
Donnie and April ran towards a shed that was beneath the rollercoaster, since the power box was located there.
"April, I need you to interface my laptop with the rollercoaster's operating system." Donnie ordered, April opening the power box. Meanwhile, Donnie pulled out his laptop from his duffel bag with a few wires attached, handing them to April to connect to the power box. "I'll wire the tracks for electricity."
"I get it." April replied, understanding what he's trying to do, as she plugged the wires. "You're going to magnetise the tracks, switching the polarity from positive to negative alternately."
"And the resulting intermittent multipolar flux should create the electromagnetic pulse!" Donnie continued as he typedon his laptop.
"I like it." April admitted. "But do you think it'll work?"
"Eh. I'm making this up as I go." Donnie shrugged.
Nano aimed his dragon hand at the group, firing junk at them as they ran.
"WHOA!" They all yelped as they were all nearly hit by one, jumping away as they did so.
Donnie continued typing on his laptop, sending electricity into the power box, which then travelled through some wires and into the tracks of the rollercoaster, a pulse charge building up as it coursed through the tracks.
"Oh, sweet!" Donnie grinned. "It's actually working. Hey, guys! Get it over here!"
With the go ahead, Mikey started waving his arms.
"Come on, you big ugly pile of junk!" He mocked Nano, further getting his attention. "Step on the Turtle, win a prize!"
"Yoo-hoo, robot thingy!" Mikey then said, making Nano frown before marching towards him, as he took off his backpack. "That's it, come to daddy, you big tin can!"
Mikey pulled out his flying skateboard and took off on it before Nano could stomp on him.
He raced ahead when Nano tried stomping on him again and made a u-turn to avoid another stomping, heading right for the electrically charged rollercoaster, gaining altitude as he did so.
Nano marched towards the rollercoaster while the pulse charge shot towards Mikey, who turned to Nano, who reached for him with his hands.
Mikey backed away as the pulse charge came towards him, making Nano shocked as it soon struck him.
The pulse charge caused a huge shockwave to form out of Nano's body and spread throughout the amusement park.
Donnie gasped as the shockwave caused a surge that made his laptop's screen to flash brightly, making him cover his eyes.
Nano then screamed before his body fell apart and became a large pile of junk.
Both Harry and Marion crawled out of the junk pile and lay on it, being very exhausted.
"Take me back to jail. Anything is better than this." Harry begged.
Everyone, except for Donnie, April and Casey, stood in front of Nano's screen, which was powering down.
"Fam-i-ly. Fam-i-ly." Nano said weakly before the screen shut off and went black.
"Man, poor kid." Raph said, so sorry for Nano.
"All he wanted was a family." Mikey said sadly as Leo shook his head in sadness.
"Which he would've gotten if he met us first and not that crook." Alex pointed out.
"Yeah. Doesn't seem like that much to ask." Leo said.
Later, the police arrived, including the officers that saw the fight at 2nd Time Around. The younger officer led Harry to their police car, where the older officer held the back passenger door open.
"Look, I'm telling you, I didn't bust out of jail! I was kidnapped, honest!" Harry swore.
"Yeah, yeah." The officer muttered, not believing him, as he put Harry into the police car.
"You gotta believe me!" Harry begged right before the door closed.
Raph, Mikey, Mona, Alopex, April and Casey watched all this from behind the shed while Alex, Leo, Donnie and Tiger Claw came up behind them.
"April, we found the stolen jewels the police have been looking for." Leo said, holding the chest full of jewels.
"We were thinking you should turn 'em in." Raph suggested.
"Yeah, there's a huge reward, enough for you to rebuild your apartment and shop." Alex explained as Leo handed the chest to April.
"But, guys, we should share the reward." April insisted.
"Sharing is good." Mikey said eagerly, getting swatted in the arms by Alex and Raph.
"Will you stop being so greedy?" Alex scowled.
"What?" Mikey asked innocently.
"Thanks, guys." April said gratefully and appreciatively.
"Guess if you get your place back, we won't be seeing you so much anymore." Donnie said sadly.
But April came over and kissed his cheek, having grown closest with him out of him and his brothers.
"Of course you will, guys. We're family." April said as Donnie bushed.
"Besides, us girls gotta stick together." Alopex added, her and Mona placing hands on Apri's shoulders.
"You said it, sister." Mona grinned, making all three laugh.
This episode further made me so sad for Nano. At least he had a good end later in the show.
And I really love and appreciate it when we have more mundane and casual moment with the Turtles and their allies in the shows and films.
