The Big Brawl - Part 2
Splinter and Rebecca left the lair as the door closed behind them.
Alex, the Turtles, excluding Leo, Alopex, Tiger Claw, Venus de Milo and Mona Lisa followed after them, Leo joining them a moment later.
"If you're told to not leave the lair for a few days, you should do as you're told."
They all peeked down an alleyway, watching Splinter and Rebecca walk up to a portal with a bindle bag and a backpack, walking right into it without hesitation.
Alex, Leo, Donnie, Alopex, Tiger Claw and Venus then walk through the portal.
"Also, don't walk through an interdimensional portal into a nexus between multiple worlds and dimensions."
Everyone fell out of another portal and landed in a puddle.
They all then looked around the Battle Nexus.
"But, if you do both of those things, just try not to unknowingly get involved…"
Five Gom-Tais charged at the group, who all had their weapons out.
"...and accidentally enter the Battle Nexus Tournament."
A Gom-Tai clashed with Leo and Venus.
Raph then charged at another, sliding between its legs and grabbed its right to pull it down onto the ground.
"It's a competition of the multiverse's most skilled and deadly fighters."
Ue-Sama then led Alex and his turtle brothers down a hall that had statues of past champions placed throughout, including statues of Hamato Yoshi, Splinter and Rebecca.
"And if you do find yourself entering the tournament…"
Alex and Leo stayed in the hall while their brothers walked away, looking up at the statue of Yoshi before bowing to it.
"...just make sure that you don't end up by yourself in the Pavillion of Past Champions."
Five black ninjas appeared behind the pair, two of them holding crossbows, which they aimed at Alex and Leo.
"Trust me. It will cost you your life."
In the arena, all of the contestants, excluding Alex and Leo, looked up at the Daimyo, as did Ue-Sama.
Alopex, Tiger Claw, Venus and Mona all sat with the Daimyo.
"Warriors who seek to become Battle Nexus champion, prepare yourselves!" The Daimyo declared.
All of the warriors, excluding the Turtles, Splinter and Rebecca, who stood with Ue-Sama, cheered and roared in response.
"Hey, guys, it is Traximus and Asterion, the gladiators we met at the Triceraton Homeworld." Raph told everyone, Splinter recognising him.
"He is the minotaur that helped when Drako ambushed me." He revealed.
"Wow. Imagine them being here." Mikey said as he turned Raph and Donnie. "This place just gets wilder and wilder."
"Where's Alex and Leo? The tournament's gonna start soon." Rebecca said with concern.
"Do not worry, Rebecca-san." Ue-Sama said. "I am sure they will be along any moment now."
Back in the Pavillion of Past Champions, Alex and Leo kept bowing to Yoshi's statue with their eyes closed with the crossbows pointing at them.
The pair opened their eyes, sensing they were being ambushed.
And when the two black ninjas fired the crossbows, Alex pulled his katana out and sliced the arrows in half in a blur.
The two ninjas jumped onto the floor and fired more arrows at them, which Alex deflected and sliced while Leo flipped and somersaulted to avoid being shot, blocking some with his forearms until he caught an arrow with his hand.
The two ninjas then turned and jumped onto a couple of banners, climbing up onto a beam and jumped onto the curved ceiling and clinged to it before throwing several shurikens at Alex and Leo.
"Oh, crud!" Alex gasped before he and Leo somersaulted away from the shurikens.
Alex spotted a couple more ninjas coming up behind them and split kicked them away, allowing Leo to roll away while Alex backflipped by his side, landing by a bench full of weapons.
They looked around and saw that the ninjas had vanished for now, hiding until they could strike again.
"Okay, where did everybody go?" Leo asked Alex.
"Hiding and waiting to strike us down without any honour." Alex said as his glaring eyes looked around for any sign of an attack.
Leo then grabbed a spear from behind him and a whip went for his left arm, but Alex's quick reflexes and reaction allowed him to slice it before it could wrap around Leo's arm.
The two then leapt at the two ninjas that appeared before them and Alex kicked one and Leo whacked the other with the spear.
A third crawled down the wall and threw a shuriken towards Leo, but Alex saw it and swung his katana at it, making it fly right back at the ninja, cutting his arm.
Alex then ducked under a slash from a ninja's blade before kicking them away and Leo blocked the other with his spear before shoving them back and spin kicked them away.
They then backed up against the wall as the five ninjas gathered back up, the two with the crossbows aiming them at Alex and Leo.
"Go ahead, you scum!" Alex snarled.
Before either could fire an arrow, a katana sliced the crossbows from above, shocking the two ninjas as they fell forward.
They all looked up at the statue to see a white rabbit dressed in blue and black wielding a katana, a wakizashi in its scabbard on his belt.
"You fight without honour, assassins!" He glared at the ninjas.
He jumped down from the statue, making the ninjas run and scatter, all climbing up the walls and vanishing.
The rabbit, seeing they were now gone, put his katana in its scabbard and approached Alex and Leo.
"Are you alright, warriors?" He asked them.
"We are now. Thanks." Alex said gratefully as he put away his katana.
"You are welcome." The rabbit replied with a bow.
"I am Leonardo, and this is my brother, Alexander. We are in your debt." Leo introduced themselves and bowed to the rabbit.
"I am Miyamato Usagi." The rabbit bowed. "A ronin and a competitor in the Battle Nexus Tournament. I was passing by when I saw you set upon by those dishonourable assassins."
"Lucky for us." Leo said.
"Luck has very little to do with it. It is about skill and control of your energies." Usagi explained. "Your mind and your weapon must be as one or you will certainly perish."
"Yeah, our sensei tells us the same thing time and time again." Alex replied. "Is there any other advice you have for us?"
"Yes, duck." Usagi replied.
The pair instantly knew what he meant and ducked as Usagi pulled out his katana and wakizashi, jumping up and knocking away two shurikens that were thrown at Alex and Leo.
They looked up at the support beams above them to see three of the black ninjas, two which jumped down while the third threw more shurikens.
Usagi jumped aside while Alex pulled out his katana and Leo grabbed a shield, both blocking and deflecting the shurikens. Leo then threw the shield at the ninja, knocking them off the beam.
"Who are these guys?" Leo questioned as Alex charged to fight alongside Usagi.
They charged at a pair of ninjas and they blocked their blades before kicking them away.
Leo then grabbed a pair of tonfas that were displayed and leapt at a ninja, swinging one of the tonfas at him, who dodged, making Leo hit the wall, and dodged and blocked three more swings from Leo.
Usagi blocked a ninja's staff that had spikes on it before they stared each other down and charged at each other, clashing their weapons again.
Alex faced off against the other black ninja, who slashed at him, but he ducked and swung his katana up to deflect his blade up before he stood on his free hand and kicked him away.
Leo twirled his tonfas as he gritted his teeth before charging at the ninja he faced, swinging his tonfas twice, getting blocked by the forearms.
He then swept the ninja off his feet, but when Leo swung his tonfas down on him, he grabbed his arms and the tendril that came out of the back of his head wrapped around Leo's neck, using it and his hands to shove Leo back before kicking him away, knocking the tonfas out of his hands.
Leo crashed onto a podium as the ninja pulled out a sword. Leo groaned as he opened his eyes, gasping at the sight of the ninja with the sword, which he raised over his head to strike Leo down. Leo then noticed a helmet on the podium he crashed onto and grabbed it to block the sword in time before kicking the ninja back and whacking him away with the helmet.
He looked at the helmet and gasped upon seeing how it resembled the Shredder's, but then he snarled in annoyance and threw it away.
When Alex and Usagi joined back up, the ninjas they faced charged at them, but they kicked them away and kept their katanas ready to continue fighting.
But then the black ninjas all ran up the wall and vanished as Leo joined up with the pair.
"They are gone. Vanished." Usagi said as he and Alex put their katanas away.
"Again, thank you for your help, samurai." Leo said gratefully.
"Do not thank me yet, warriors." Usagi replied as they turned to each other. "Fate may pit us against each other in the tournament."
"Well, I speak for both of us, Usagi-san, that we'd rather not go up against you considering how skilled you are with the blade." Alex smirked, which made Usagi chuckle.
"The feeling is mutual, especially with you, Alexander-san. I've never seen anyone use a blade like you before." He replied with a bow.
The Gyoji then appeared by their side with Leo's katanas in his arms.
"Master Leonardo, your swords have been repaired." He informed Leo, handing him his weapons. "I trust you will find them worthy."
Leo couldn't help but smile to see his katanas repaired before he bowed to the Gyoji.
"Thank you." He said.
"You three must hurry. The next stage of the Battle Nexus Tournament is about to begin." The Gyoji then informed them as he turned.
The three made their way to the arena, stopping on the walkway leading directly to it to look at all of the other competitors.
"Good luck to both of you." Usagi told Alex and Leo as they turned to each other.
"And to you, Usagi-san." Alex replied as they bowed to each other.
They then entered the arena and parted ways.
Usagi walked among the competitors when he stopped upon recognising a rhino samurai, who was eating some snacks.
"Ah, Gennosuke, I am surprised to see you here." He greeted the rhino with a bow.
"Mm, why is that?" Gen asked.
"I did not think you went in for contests of honour." Usagi replied honestly.
"Honour!" Gen questioned with a laugh before putting his snacks away, wagging a finger. "No, I'm not in it for honour. I'm in it for the money. Just between you and me, I've placed a huge wager on myself to win." He then placed a hand on Usagi's shoulder. "I could let you in on the action, if you want. It's a sweet deal. You could clean up."
"No, thank you." Usagi shook his head with an amused smirk. "But good luck. Or should I say, good fortune with your wager. You will never change, Gen-chan."
He then walked away.
"Why would I? You don't change perfection." Gen retorted.
Alex and Leo finally joined back up with their family and Ue-Sama.
"Yo, guys, I thought you weren't going to show." Raph greeted them.
"What took you two?" Donnie asked.
"We got ambushed in the Pavillion by some dishonourable ninjas. But with some help from a ronin named Usagi, we dealt with them." Alex replied.
"Ambushed?" Ue-Sama repeated in shock, though Alex could clearly hear he was being a bit too dramatic. "Are you alright?"
"We'll survive." Leo replied with a suspicious look towards the Daimyo's son.
"This is terrible. I will look into the matter at once." Ue-Sama then said before bowing to Splinter and Rebecca, who nodded back, before Ue-Sama walked off.
"I prayed to the gods you five and Mona Lisa would be alright, and I'm so thankful it was answered." Asterion's voice said, making everyone turn to see him walk up to them with a grin on his face. He still wore his armour that he wore when they last saw him, and he now had his two spathas.
"Asterion!" Alex grinned and jogged up to him, grabbing his forearm and patted his arm, Asterion doing the same. "You have no idea how glad we are to see you here!"
"I had to come, it's been a tradition for me ever since my father took me when he competed." Asterion replied, noticing Splinter among everyone else. "And you didn't tell me your master was Splinter!" He walked up to Splinter and bowed his head to him with his right hand over his chest. "I'm glad to see you're well, Master Splinter."
"And I you, Asterion." Splinter bowed back. Asterion then turned to Rebecca.
"You must be Alexander's mother. It's an honour to meet you. Your son and his turtle brothers helped me secure my freedom." He said as he bowed to her, surprising Alex and the Turtles. What happened while they were trying to escape the Triceraton Homeworld?
"The honour is all mine." Rebecca bowed back.
A horn then blew, which made the crowd cheer.
"Good luck, all of you." Asterion then said before he turned to Alex with a grin. "I hope we face each other again. I want that rematch."
"You bet." Alex winked back before Asterion walked away.
Everyone then gathered together.
"This is it, boys." Rebecca told her son and the Turtles.
"Be brave, all of you, and more importantly, be careful." Splinter then cautioned them.
The Daimyo then hit his war staff on a gong next to him as he, Alopex, Tiger Claw, Venus and Mona sat together.
"Let the contest begin!" He declared as he raised his war staff.
It sparked blue lightning before he struck it down onto the arena, then circled around the competitors, causing a section of the arena to lower itself into the ground before metal walls popped out between two competitors each, making most of the five brothers gasp.
"Okay…." Mikey muttered after the arena had fully divided into sixteen sections, everyone saw who they'd be facing. He turned to see that his opponent was a large blue alien with purple fur that covered the right side of his upper body and the left half of his lower body named Tjaluk. He was also wielding a sword. This made Mikey chuckle nervously. "Looks like it's just you and me."
"Warriors, first tier begin!" The Daimyo then announced.
Mikey then screamed upon seeing Tjaluk charge at him with a roar. But was able to jump over a slash of his sword and pull out his nunchucks when he landed.
Splinter closed his eyes while his opponent, a large orange skinned alien with armour on his legs, chest and right arm, wielding a spiked mace named Wolf, charged at him.
Splinter opened his eyes and dodged to his left as Wolf swung his mace down. He then ducked under another swing and then dodged to his right.
Raph and his opponent, a tanned skinned and long blue haired being named Rings, circled each other with their weapons out. Rings then pounced at Raph and swung his ring shaped weapons at him, but Raph blocked them with his sais before he went on the offensive, making Rings backflip away from him.
When landing on his feet, he separated his rings out, now wielding four.
A bulky alien with yellow hair down his back and wearing a brown rag with a chain hanging from his back named Fly got knocked onto his back from his opponent.
He got to his feet and faced his opponent, an aquatic looking being with tentacles along the back of his head and wore armour except on his arms and with jewelled gauntlets, named, well, Jewel Gauntlet, raised his fists and punched them together while roaring.
Fly tossed the end of his chain at Jewel Gauntlet, who caught it with ease, which shocked Fly, as Jewel Gauntlet pulled him towards himself.
Usagi faced off a large red alien with four legs, a large belly, one eye and his mouth on his chest named Sickle, who held up his double bladed sickle as he roared while Usagi bowed.
He opened one eye to see Sickle swinging his weapon down, but he blocked it with his katana, gritting his teeth as he dealt with Sickle's strength.
Gen roared as he charged, pulling out his katana and leapt at his opponent. His opponent had yellow skin and wore armour on his feet and right shoulder, wielding a dagger with his left hand and claws with his right. His name is Clawed.
They leapt at each other and clashed weapons in mid air.
Donnie faced off against a being named Staff, and was blocking his sansetsukon four times before trying to whack him, but was blocked and got hit on his shell, knocking him away before Donnie charged at him.
Alex found himself facing his own mother, who did nothing as Alex pulled out his katana.
"Is there where you kick my ass?" He asked nervously.
"No, my son." Rebecca shook her head with a smile. "In fact, I've already become a champion once. That's enough for me. It's your time to shine." She then pulled out her katana. "But let's give the crowd something to enjoy before you take me out of the tournament."
"If you say so." Alex replied before he leapt at her, slashing his katana at her, which she blocked and then tried sweeping him off his feet, but he flipped over her and swung his katana at her again, but she ducked in time to avoid being hit.
The crowd then cheered wildly as the various fights continued.
The warrior from Kirby's dimension with the hammer was slammed against the wall and dodged a spear by a tall and muscular with purple and green skin and yellow hair named Kluh
The two then swung their weapons, often clashing them.
Asterion faced off against a being with grey fur and dark stripes named Tiger, who wielded a trident. He swung his spathas at Tiger, who blocked them with his trident before shoving him back and thrust his weapon at the minotaur, who stepped aside and wrapped an arm around it, tugging it with all his strength, making Tiger fly forward, allowing Asterion to swing his spathas at him as he bellowed out, Tiger vanishing in blue light before the spathas could hurt him.
The crowd then cheered wildly as Asterion raised his spathas up and roared.
Among the stands was an infirmary where two healers stood. Tiger then reappeared between them and they led him over to a bench to check on him.
The bug-like creature from Kirby's dimension faced off against another bug-like creature, resembling a samurai with a basket covering his face. He also had two limbs protruding from his shoulders with a pincer on each of them. His name was Albert.
Albert leapt at the creature, swinging his staff at it, but it dodged him and it then tried hitting him, but he side flipped over him. And again when it tried hitting him.
He then swung his staff down on it, but the creature grabbed it and flung Albert away, making him crash onto his back. He got to his knees with his hand on his head and gasped upon seeing the creature ready to strike him down.
But as it was about to hit him, Albert vanished and the creature struck the ground.
The crowd cheered as the creature roared victoriously.
Albert then appeared in the infirmary and the two healers held him up as he was about to fall.
A blue fish-like being wielding a staff named Lajatang charged at a muscular being, whose left side of his chest and left arm were white with brown marks, the rest of body looking normal, named Krall.
Lajatang tried stabbing Krall, but the latter stepped aside, and again when Lajatang thrust his staff at him.
He got behind him and wrapped his arms tightly around him, like he was trying to squeeze the life out of him.
It kept going until Lajatang vanished, making Krall the winner as the crowd cheered.
Lajatang reappeared in the infirmary, struggling to breathe properly as a healer approached him. He shook his head at him.
Leo faced off and blocked an attack from his opponent, who was a purple alien with large claws on each hand named Kwan.
He blocked more attacks until he leapt over Kwan, landing behind him, and then spun in the air before kicking him so hard that he crashed onto the ground, knocked out, making him vanish.
Leo landed on the ground as the crowd cheered, still wielding his katanas.
"YES!" Venus squeaked happily, seeing the turtle she had feelings for being able to stay in the tournament.
Splinter leapt up and kicked Wolf's mace out of his hand, which made him roar at Spliner when he landed on the ground.
Splinter then flipped over to him and kicked him repeatedly in the stomach until he crashed onto the ground and vanished, making the crowd cheer.
Traximus blocked the two swords a being who wore armour all over his body except his arms and legs named Hook with his double headed battle axe, being locked together.
They stayed like this until Traximus whipped his tail at Hook's legs, knocking him off his feet and making him crash against the wall, knocking his swords out his hands as well.
Traximus then roared as he charged at Hook with his axe raised over his head.
But before he could make contact with Hook, he vanished, making his axe strike the ground.
He roared victoriously as the crowd cheered.
A large octopus with one eye lifted a two headed being named Two-Heads up with his tentacles and threw him against a wall, where he vanished upon impact.
Clawed and Gen both charged at each other and slashed at each other when they were close enough.
They both stood until Clawed moaned and fell, vanishing as he did so. Gen then raised his arms up as the crowd cheered.
Clawed then appeared in the infirmary between Kwan and Wolf, who sat on a bench.
Raph tried hitting Rings, but he blocked him with one of his four rings..
He then threw two of them at him, but Raph knocked out of the way as he charged at Rings and dodged the other before they locked weapons.
They separated and clashed again until Raph flipped over Rings and kicked him in the face as he turned, knocking the remaining two rings out of his hands and slumping.
"Say goodnight, ring boy!" Raph snarled as he twirled one of his sais and swung it down, Rings vanishing before he could hit him.
"WAY TO GO, RAPH!" Mona cheered loudly with her arms raised as she stood, happy to see her boyfriend still in the tournament.
Usagi backed away from Sickle before blocking his weapon with his katana, moving it towards the ground, before jumping up and swinging it at Sickle, who vanished before Usagi made contact.
He landed on the ground in a crouched position as the crowd cheered.
Sickle then reappeared in the infirmary, confused.
Mikey crossed his arms as he spun his nunchucks, staring at Tjaluk.
"Hey, fuzzy, what say we call this a draw and I'll spring for the other half of that haircut." He joked.
This just made Tjaluk roar and swing his sword down at Mikey, who jumped aside.
"Where's your sense of humour?" Mikey questioned before he got kicked in the plastron.
He then ducked under a slash and jumped over another, landing behind Tjaluk and whacked him in the head with his nunchucks, making him crash and flip onto his chest against the wall before vanishing.
Mikey put his nunchucks away and blew kisses to the crowd, who all cheered.
Donnie tried whacking Staff, who blocked his staff before trying to whack Donnie, who blocked his sansetsukon.
Donnie then swung his staff at Staff, who ducked before hitting Donnie's plastron with his knee and hit his shell, making him fall to the ground.
Staff then spun one end of his sansetsukon, ready to deliver the final blow.
"Aw, shell." Donnie gulped before he vanished, making Staff hit the ground when he swung his weapon down.
"Thank goodness Sydney isn't here. She'd be so upset." Alopex sighed.
Donnie then reappeared in the infirmary.
"What happened?" He asked.
"You have been defeated in the great tournament." A healer replied as he approached Donnie.
"I don't believe it." Donnie moped as the healer examined his arm. "I'm the first turtle eliminated?" He then pulled his arm away from the healer. "The guys won't ever let me live this down. And Sydney will be so mad when she finds out."
The remaining match was Alex and Rebecca.
Alex locked his katana with Rebecca's and their faces were up to each other.
"Think the crowd is entertained enough?" Alex asked his mother.
"Yeah. Time for me to leave this tournament." She replied with a nod.
Alex shoved Rebecca back and kicked her in the stomach, knocking her into the wall behind her, where she slumped onto the ground.
Alex then leapt and swung his katana down at her, hitting the ground as she vanished before he could hit her.
The crowd both gasped and cheered when this happened.
Alopex, Tiger Claw, Venus and Mona gasped as Rebecca reappeared next to them and the Daimyo.
"I see the mother in you took over, Rebecca-san." The Daimyo said knowingly.
"I didn't want to get in my son's way. He should have his time to shine. And like I told him, I've already been a champion." Rebecca replied.
"You know, I think out of him and everyone else left, he just might win." Alopex guessed. "He's the most skilled out of all of us, and can adapt instantly."
"You might be right." Tiger Claw said as he folded his arms.
"As long as it ain't Mikey, he'd be incredibly annoying if he won." Mona said, shuddering at the idea of Mikey winning.
A horn then blew and the walls all lowered, which allowed all the remaining competitors to see who was left.
All of them were Alex, Leo, Raph, Mikey, Splinter, Asterion, Traximus, Usagi, Gen, Staff, Krall, Fly, Kluth, the octopus, the bug-like creature and a female being with armour on her right forearm named Ia.
Alex saw that Donnie didn't make it, which was disappointing.
"Champions, I commend you on your victories thus far!" The Daimyo congratulated. "And now, prepare yourselves! The next round, tier two!"
A bubble formed in the centre of the arena, which then grew to engulf all of the competitors, who then vanished with the bubble as the crowd cheered.
In a dark room, Ue-Sama watched the tournament through a mirror image made of water.
Three of the black ninjas appeared, climbing down a wall behind him before jumping down onto the floor and ran to him before bowing on their hands and knees.
"You have failed me. Leonardo and Alexander still live!" Ue-Sama hissed in anger, clenching a fist.
"Forgive us, young lord." The ninja in the middle begged, looking up at him. "We will not fail you again."
"Good, because next time, the price for failure will be your lives!" Ue-Sam warned as he turned to face them. He then turned away from them, folding his arms. "The task ahead is very grave! I can afford no further blunders. Prepare yourselves and your brothers! Now be gone!"
The three ninjas crawled away in disgrace before getting up and turning, jumping up and climbing up to the shadows.
Ue-Sama stared after them as a large cloaked and hooded figure approached him from behind.
"Perhaps the destruction of Leonardo and Alexander is premature, my lord." The figure said, drawing Ue-Sama's attention. "Should you not first secure the throne?"
"You dare question me?" Ue-Sama sneered in offence. "Do not forget your place, councillor."
"Yes, my lord." The figure bowed his head. "You know I'm only trying to serve you. And as your councillor, I must advise patience."
"More patience?" Ue-Sama spat before slapping the mirror, making it now just normal water, which fell into the fountain below it.
"I have suffered enough in the name of patience!" He snarled as he looked at his reflection in the water. "I have bowed before them. I have begged their forgiveness as my father wished!" He then turned to the figure. "But now my time has come. I will take the throne from my father, and I will become the Supreme Daimyo of the Battle Nexus! And I will make Alexander, his mother, the Turtles, their rat master and their friends pay for the insolence to me with their lives!"
At the arena, the Daimyo raised his war staff.
"Tier two, begin!" He announced.
The crowd cheered as a horn blew.
The circle in the arena lowered itself again, now divided into eight sections, with the competitors rising up, two in each section.
In one section, Leo was paired up with Usagi, in another Alex was paired up with Asterion while Mikey was with Splinter, Raph with Traximus, Ia with Krall, who now had a mallet, Gen with the octopus, Kluh with Fly and the bug-like creature with Staff.
The Daimyo then hit the gong with his war staff.
Ia held her staff as she jumped away from Krall's mallet before trying to whack him, but he blocked her attack, and then another before swinging to her, but she ducked.
Staff spun his weapon as the bug-like creature approached him. He then swung at him, but he blocked the weapon with his forearm and grabbed the other end of the weapon before breaking it and whacked Staff onto his back.
The creature then swung his arms at him, but Staff vanished before he could hit him.
Fly threw his chain at Kluh, who grabbed it and pulled on it, sending Fly flying at him, when Kluh swung his spear at him, slamming him right into a wall, vanishing upon crashing onto it.
"Um, Master Splinter…" Mikey said as he turned to Splinter, scratching his head. "...are you gonna kick my shell now?"
Splinter looked up at the crowd as it cheered.
"Do you hear the crowd, my son?" He asked.
"Do I?" Mikey grinned as he held his hand by his ear. "It's been pretty cool fighting like this, out in the open, having everybody love us for it."
"Yes. This year, it is your competition, not mine." Splinter replied before he got to his knees. "When my sons fight with honour, they honour their master."
The Gyoji then appeared between Mikey and Splinter.
"You must deliver a finishing blow to end the match." He instructed.
Mikey pulled out one of his nunchucks and approached his father.
"Master Splinter, I… I…." He stuttered, not knowing what to say before he rested one end of the nunchuck on Splinter's shoulder. "Thanks, Sensei."
The Gyoji then pointed his paddle at Splinter, who vanished as Mikey bowed before him.
Splinter then reappeared next to Rebecca and the Daimyo.
"Ah, Splinter-san, I see the master of ninjutsu lost to the parent in you, like Rebecca-san with her son." The Daimyo noted.
"Yes, I suppose so." Splinter replied, slightly embarrassed. "It is just that if my sons can win, I do not wish to stand in their way."
"Looks like we are gonna have that rematch, after all, Asterion." Alex noted as he and Asterion stared each other down.
"Indeed. Whichever one of us continues in the tournament, we'll fight for the other." Asterion replied, twirling his spathas before crossing them and bowing to Alex. "Strength and honour."
"Strength and honour." Alex repeated, placing his katana by the left side of his torso and bowed back.
The two then charged at each other.
Asterion swung both spathas at Alex, who jumped off the ground and got between the two swords before he rolled away from the minotaur, jumping and kicking his back before Asterion turned in quick speed, knocking Alex away, who landed on the wall behind him and landed back on the ground.
Raph held his sais together over his head before twirling them as he stared at Traximus.
"I'm kinda sad to have to be the one to knock you out of the tournament, Traximus." He told the Triceraton, who was walking up to him.
"I think perhaps you're mistaken, Raphael." Traximus smirked. "I feel sorry to have to be the one to knock you out of the tournament!"
Raph ducked to avoid Traximus' axe as he swung it before jumping up to slash at Traximus, who backed away and then knocked him away with the pommel of his axe, making Raph crash onto his shell.
"Stay down, little one, or you may get hurt." Traximus warned, only for Raph to jump onto his feet.
"Thanks for the advice, Trax, but you better take it yourself!" He snarled before charging at the Triceraton and swung his sais at him.
Leo and Usagi stared each other as they circled one another.
"It's just like you said, Usagi-san." Leo noted. "We have to fight each other."
"Fate often has such a wry sense of humour." Usagi replied before he stopped and pulled out his katana. "Come. Let us fight as friends, and may the best swordsman win!"
Leo pulled out both katanas and both stared each other down as they got into fighting positions.
They then yelled and charged at each other.
They jumped up and clashed their blades before they landed back on the ground.
They turned at each other as Usagi pulled out his wakizashi and charged at each other again.
The two then clashed blades again, practically at a stalemate.
Splinter, Rebecca, Alopex, Tiger Claw, Venus, Mona and the Daimyo continued watching the fighting in the arena.
"You two should be proud to have raised such fine warriors and sons." The Daimyo complimented Splinter and Rebecca.
"We are proud. How could we not?" Rebecca smiled proudly.
"Though they can be a little too willful at times." Splinter noted.
"Does that include us and Sydney?" Alopex asked in offence.
"Don't listen to him, dear." Rebecca assured her softly.
"Ah. If only fathers, or mothers, could make their sons understand we're only trying to protect them from their own inexperience." The Daimyo sighed sadly.
Within the temple, Ue-Sama wrote a fake letter, which he then handed to a guard, who walked away.
"Ah, I know exactly what you mean, old friend." Splinter sighed in sympathy before turning his attention to Leo and Usagi. "But tell me, there is something familiar about this samurai my son Leonardo faces."
"He should look very familiar to you." The Daimyo replied as Usagi jumped back from Leo, who charged at him. "He is the same…" Usagi blocked a slash and backflipped over another. "...young samurai in training, along with Asterion…" Leo and Usagi sent two slashes at each other before Leo backed away. "...that came to your aid when Drako ambushed you some years ago." Usagi avoided a slash from Leo before the two locked blades again.
"He must be the ronin Alex was talking about that helped him and Leo when they were ambushed." Rebecca recollected.
"He's already a ronin at such a tender age…" The Daimyo said as the guard approached from behind. "...but his sword arm is skilled far beyond his years, just like Alexander."
The guard stopped next to the Daimyo and handed him the letter. The Daimyo read it as the guard walked away.
"Excuse me. I must attend to a small matter." He told Splinter and Rebecca. "Will you two join me later when this bout is over?"
"It would be our honour, Daimyo." Splinter said as he and Rebecca stood and bowed.
All at the same time, Ia dodged Krall's mallet and kicked him in the face while Gen jumped up and swung his katana at the octopus, both losers vanishing and reappearing next to each other in the infirmary.
After a pretty even fight, Asterion charged at Alex, swinging both spathas down at him, but Alex turned sideways and both swords landed on the ground in front and behind him. He then leapt up and kicked Asterion in the chest so hard he stumbled back.
Alex then charged at Asterion and jumped onto his shoulders, lifting his katana over his head.
"You were a worthy and valiant opponent, Asterion." Alex praised him before he struck his katana's pommel onto the top of Asterion's head, making him moan as he fell to his knees, making Alex jump off as Asterion then fell onto his chest before vanishing.
He reappeared in the infirmary, where he groaned as he got to his feet.
He then walked over to look down at the arena and smirked.
"He's truly skilled." He said quietly. "He just may be the one."
Traximus charged at Raph, who jumped back to avoid his axe being swung.
"You're gonna have to be quicker than that, dino-boy!" Raph teased.
This made Traximus whack Raph in the plastron with the pommel of his axe, which sent him flying right into a wall.
Raph groaned before he growled angrily.
He got back up and charged at Traximus, who swung his axe at him when he was close enough, but Raph rolled under the swing. He was about to get up when Traximus whacked him away with his tail.
Raph threw his sais at Traximus as he turned to him, both bouncing off his left shoulder guard.
After Raph landed on his feet, kicking up dust, he charged at Traximus again.
This time, he jumped onto his chest, but Traximus grabbed him and flipped as he threw Raph away, landing hard on his shell.
As he tried getting up, Traximus came up behind him and wrapped an arm around his chest and held his head with the other, keeping him pinned.
"You have been a worthy opponent, Raphael. This is a battle I won't soon forget." He praised Raph.
"Yeah, I guarantee you won't!" Raph snapped back before grabbing Traximus' chin and arm, throwing him onto his back.
He then leapt up and yelled as he dived towards Traximus, who yelled in shock, before he vanished, making Raph punch the ground. He then stood up as the crowd cheered.
Being the only fight left now, Leo blocked several slashes by Usagi before sending some himself, but they got blocked as well.
This was the fight. They'd slash and block or dodge each other's weapons to the point that it may go on forever.
From a high window in the temple, Ue-Sama watched the fight with his councillor behind him.
"My lord, I strongly advise against this rash course of action." He told Ue-Sama.
"Your counsel has been heard and overruled!" Ue-Sama snapped at him. "Now, keep silent! I command it!"
"Yes, my Daimyo." The figure said, revealing a pair of glowing green eyes.
"And so it is for Leonardo to be the first to suffer for his past effrontery." Ue-Sama then said, pulling out a dart gun and raising his mask up. He put a poison dart into the dart gun and placed it on his lips, aiming for Leo.
Leo blocked a few slashes by Usagi before he dodged another and blocked two more before slashing at Usagi, who dodged him.
Ue-Sama then moved to the edge of the window as Leo sent four slashes at Usagi, who blocked the first three and dodged the fourth.
Ue-Sama then fired the dart as Leo blocked two slashes from Usagi, the dart hitting Leo in the right shoulder close to his neck.
Leo groaned as he turned to it and shook his head, as the effects of the poison were already doing its work.
He turned and stumbled, dropping his katanas, which made the crowd gasp, before turning to Usagi, who was wide eyed with horror, knowing something was very wrong.
"Usagi, I… I…" Leo groaned as he approached him.
But he only took a few steps before he fell onto his plastron, out cold.
"LEONARDO, NO!" Splinter gasped, as did pretty much everyone.
"LEO!" Venus cried out, her eyes starting to well up, seeing that Leo wasn't moving a muscle.
Ue-Sama is such a spoiled brat, I can't help but wonder how he became like this, as he really reminds me of Commodus in Gladiator a bit.
And I forgot to mention in the last chapter, but Ajax, the cyclops Rebecca fought against, is from the same planet as Asterion, called Elysium, where the beings and creatures from Greek and Roman mythologies live, as they are where the mythologies come from in this version of Earth.
And I know you're wondering what Asterion meant when he said that Alex is the one. Well, you're just gonna have to wait when I get around to a certain arc in the latter half of season 3.
