The school had become cold, unfeeling. The losses that continued to happen was making Hogwarts loose her shine. It was just recently that they had to lay to rest another professor. Not just any professor though the most beloved woman in the school.

She had been a professor, the head of Gryffindor, and a headmisstress of the school.

The students past and present were heartbroken from such a tremendous loss that they sent the students home early and post poned the second half of the semester.

Though they had all been in different locations, doing their respectful jobs this death brought home so many people. Harry led the procession as he had many times before to give the speech and to try to give some comfort to all those in mourning for Professor McGonagall.

"She goes now into the halls of our ancestors. She will be truly missed by all of us but we know her legacy will live on in our hearts, in the work we do daily using the lessons she taught us, and in the new portrait that will now hang in the Great Hall with Headmaster Dumbledore and Headmaster Snape. Hogwarts will not close nor will she turn away any student for I announce today that I will be leaving the Ministry of Magic and taking the mantle of Headmaster of Howarts to continue the legacy these three remarkable souls gave to this school. We will continue to shine and Hogwarts will thrive and all who pass through these doors will know the stories about all those we lost," Harry announced as he took a staggered breath and passed a hand over his eyes.

Hermione and Ron sat front row the pain etched on their's and each face around them. They continued to lose their family members and each began to question what they could do to help Hogwarts future witches and wizards.

Neville had already come back becoming the second Herbology teacher, Luna returned to teach Divination after Trelawney decided to take a leave of absence after Dumbledore's death. Professor Flitwick was on the verge of retiring himself and was searching for the perfect replacement. Professor Slughorn had continued to teach potions. Surprising to many Draco Malfoy had returned to Hogwarts and took the mantle of Defence Against the Dark Arts. History of Magic was phased out finally causing Professor Binns to retire. Madam Hooch continued teaching she lived for the thrill of seeing the future Qudditch learn and grow in a happy environment.

All those they lost were truly missed each left a void no one would ever fill but their memories would always live on forever through those they left behind. And as night fell the sky illuminated with the glow of the wands raised in honor of the greatest witch ever lived.
