As he gazed out the window, Stolas couldn't help but hold a slight frown on his face at the devastation of the Pride Ring unfolding before his eyes.

It was the day of the annual Extermination, and while the Owl Demon usually didn't care for the Sinners (it wasn't his place to care for such things) he still couldn't help but feel a tinge of empathy as they were mercilessly slaughtered.

So today, as death and destruction rained outside, he hid away in his castle; despite their deal with Lucifer, the angels rarely cared to be sure they were aiming at the right targets so even the most elite Demons had to be cautious of the divine wrath.

Now this wouldn't be a problem, in fact he loved having the time to catch up on his paperwork, if it wasn't for one little thing.

"Daddy! I'm sooooo bored!" a much younger Owl Demon protested from her spot, laying on the floor sprawled out in the way only bored children could pull off.

Stella had elected to spend this Extermination Day at her brother Andrealphus's palace leaving Octavia in his care, which was fine by him (the farther away his daughter was from their 'family activities' the better in his book), unfortunately with his work he didn't have much time to entertain his dear daughter.

Stolas let out a sigh "I know my dear little Owlet, but it's far too dangerous for us to go outside today." He paused for a moment before a solitary tear streaked down his cheek "We can't even go to Loo Loo Land." Stolas bemoaned the misfortune.

"Oh yeah... That's... terrible." the Owlet Demon half-heartedly sighed out, definitely glad to avoid another visit to where that creepy clown Imp robot lived.

"Remember, it's just for today Octavia." Stolas said, in one last attempt at rectifying his daughter's boredom.

"I know daddy." Octavia sighed out in defeat "If only we knew someone my age." the Owlet Demon sadly muttered to herself.

And with that, the proverbial light bulb lit up "That's it!" Stolas cried out as he hopped out of his seat. "I'll be back in a moment my little Owlet!" the Owl Demon just managed to call out as he ran of to his library, leaving a very confused Octavia behind.

Meanwhile, in the Human Realm a certain little human was getting ready for the day "Brush, brush, brush my teeth." Luz sung to herself in the bathroom.

As she leaned over the sink to spit out her toothpaste the sing-song voice of a certain Owl Demon met Luz's ears "Helloooo?" it rang out "Luz, can you hear me?"

The human in question let out a joyful gasp as she searched for the Owl Demon, quickly finding him in the mirror. "Stolas!" she cried out, turning to where the prince should have been standing only to find empty space, "Woah, how are you doin' that?" she questioned the reflection.

Stolas let out a small giggle "Oh, it's just a little communication spell, nothing too fancy." he modestly explained, "It's lovely to see you again Luz. Although I must say, you are not an easy human to get in contact with. I was worried when you didn't answer the tome you summoned me with."

Luz frowned slightly "I'm sorry, but after you left I couldn't find the book again." she explained "Even with my Mami helping me look for it."

Stolas had a funny feeling that 'Mami' knew exactly where the book had ended up, "Oh it's quite alright." he quickly reassured the human "Now that I've gotten a hold of you, I was wondering, are you still interested in having a playdate with my daughter?"

Luz let out an excited gasp (an impressively loud one for her size, Stolas noted) and began hopping in place.

Stolas couldn't help but let out a small laugh at the tiny human's joy "I'll take that as a yes. We'll be over shortly." the Owl Demon said before his image faded out of the reflection.

Luz flew down the stairs two steps at a time "Mami! Just so you know, Stolas is bringing his daughter over for a playdate!" she yelled out, already running back upstairs before her mother could give an answer.

Camila raised an eyebrow on confusion at her daughter's words, before remembering the demon that Luz had 'summoned' a few weeks ago "Okay Maji, remember to be a good host!" she played along, with a hint of a giggle in her voice.

"I will Mami!" Luz cried out as she ran back into her to room.

"Now remember dear you are a bit older than Luz," Stolas told his daughter as they exited the portal into Luz's room "So do be patient with her."

"I will daddy." Octavia sighed out, just wanting to meet this human her father told her about already.

"Oh, and before I forget." Stolas slipped a simple necklace, consisting of just a metal chain and a crystal, onto Octavia's neck.

The Owlet Demon held up the crystal to her eye, gazing into it in awe, before asking "What's this?"

"Oh you see-"

Just then Luz burst back into the room, letting out an excited gasp as she spotted the Demon pair "Hi I'm Luz!" the human excitedly greeted as she ran up to Octavia.

"I'm Octavia." the Owlet said as she looked over the human "I've never met a human before."

"Well, I've already met a Demon," Luz noted "but he's an adult so you're the first kid Demon I've met!"

"Oh, how delightful!" Stolas happily clapped as he saw the kids were already getting along "Well, I just leave you two to have fun. Octavia, remember to call me if you need me." And with that, the Owl Demon waved his daughter goodbye as he stepped back into the portal.

"Bye Daddy!" Octavia cried out as the portal closed before questioning Luz "So what do you want to do first."

"I dunno, what do you like to do for fun?" Luz asked

"Well, there isn't much to do in the castle…" Octavia stroked her chin in thought for a moment before a thought struck her "But I do like reading with my daddy."

"Oh, I love reading too!" the human was clearly excited to have something in common with the Demon as she bellowed out "My favorite is The Good Witch Azura!" Luz proudly held the book aloft as she did.

Octavia looked upon the book in awe, it being the first human book she had ever seen, as she said, "I've never heard of that book before."

And with those words, Octavia had unknowingly awakened the beast, and all it knew was Azura.

As if by command, Luz began spewing out every single detail and factoid she knew about the Good Witch Azura and the Azura Expanded Universe™, luckily her captive audience for once didn't mind.

As Octavia listened on, a somber expression crossed the Demon's face; one that Luz quickly took notice of, "What's wrong?" the human asked.

"Azura seems to fight a lot of Demons." Octavia awkwardly noted the recuring pattern in Azura's Rouges Gallery.

Luz mirrored Octavia's expression as she realized the problem "…I guess you're right." she muttered out. "But they're mean Demons, so of course she fights them." Luz explained, "I bet if she met a nice Demon like you, she'd be friends with them."

Octavia's expression brightened a bit "You really think so?" she asked.

"Of course!" Luz answered as she threw her arms out with a huge smile painting her face.

"Thank you, Luz." Octavia as she hugged the kind human "I bet Azura would be your friend too."

"Maji!" Camila called out from downstairs "Do you want some snacks?"

"Yes, Mami!" Luz instantly replied, before remembering her guest "Wait! Can Octavia have some too?"

After several seconds of silence, Camila finally asked back, "Who's that Maji?"

"Stolas's daughter!"

Another few seconds passed, and weirdly Luz thought she heard some laughter, before Camila answered "Of course, she can have some!"

"Thank you, Mami!" Luz turned back to Octavia "Don't worry about taking too many snacks, my Mami super nice to guests."

And as Luz explained this, Camila opened the bedroom door, the poor woman completely oblivious to what was about to happen.
