CHAPTER 38

Wayne was still trying to pull hard on the bars, he knew the league's prisons and he knew they had a small weak point, but here it seemed to be somewhere else... or made for a bigger, stronger person to find, which at the moment he wasn't. They hadn't left their batrangs, nothing, nothing.

They hadn't left any of their batrangs, nothing, the fucking door wouldn't budge and neither would the window. His eldest son was once again in Slade's hands. And Wayne had at least seven other robins with him who were also trying to get out, although they were being watched by two other (Controlled) Robins.

Carie and the Robot stared at them unflinchingly and had been doing so since just after Slade and Dick left for the watchtower. The bad thing was that they didn't know the exact moment they left.

Tim spoke in Kryptonian to himself as quietly as he could, hoping that this Clark was like his own and was always listening to the world.

Judging by the lack of response, he didn't.

Not even Kara or Kon came.

Not that it helped, they could all turn into Ra's-controlled zombies at any moment and infect others. And two controlled Kryptonians wasn't something they wanted at the moment.

The worst part was knowing that he himself wasn't giving his all to get out, precisely because of the controller that limited his thoughts and abilities. Wayne snarled at the railing; when he got out of there, he'd kick the crap out of the villains involved, especially Ra's and Slade.

Luckily they didn't see a small animal glide into the room lights and look at the cameras, he had to do something, but first he had to figure out how to get the others out of this trance.

Clark and Bruce watched them both talk, well, Kara talked most of the time and Kori answered a question or two, but judging by Kara's posture, she talked enough.

Kori, according to what Batman could see, always seemed to be looking over their shoulder as if she was expecting someone to appear, which caused Clark to pay attention to the door. Her eyes looked regretful

"Kori, what's going on? Kara finally asked. "What is Komander planning for this Earth, why did you act like that?

Clark heard footsteps coming, but his vision saw only Red Tornado approaching, so he relaxed.

Tornado appeared in the doorway soon after and both men plus the little Robin on Batman's shoulder turned to face him.

Kara heard Kori's heartbeat increase and turned too when the girl whispered.

"She wants to control everyone, I'm sorry.

Kara's eyes widened and before she could think, she flew at the robot with a punch.

''Kara!"

"What is she doing?

''He's being controlled!

Tornado stood up and reached into his pocket for a foreign object, but before he could throw it at them the robot seemed to shut down.

"What just happened? Jarro asked.

Kara turned to Kori and began to untie the girl.

''Kori warned me. They want to control everyone, I think they're here.'' She looked up and heard a voice that made her blood run cold. ''We have to get out of here.

Clark's eyes widen when he hears it too.

"Let's take Tornado, maybe we can get some answers.

"I'm not leaving Kori. Kara mutters.

Bruce quickly sent a warning to all the Earth heroes he had contact with not to go to the tower and that part of the Justice League was being controlled while sending a high alert to the Batcave for Alfred to hide with the team.

With that, Clark grabbed Tornado and Bruce while Kara grabbed Kori's hand as they both flew off after the adults.

"Where to? Clark asked.

"Cargo bay. Bruce replied simply and they were going at full speed when the alarms started ringing.

"Damn, I thought we had more time! Bruce grumbles.

They manage to reach the cargo hold, Clark releases Bruce and the Bat goes to the zetas to send them to a place without identification, a place where the tubes would have no records. He made a contingency in case he needed to escape from the tower to a place where no one would find him, and it seems to have been a good idea.

But before he could finish, a strong wind blew past them and knocked the heroes off their feet.

Clark was the first to get up to face Barry.

The League hadn't arrived yet, according to Bruce's calculations they would have another two minutes before they got there, unless Wonder Woman was being controlled.

"GET OUT OF HERE! Clark shouted when he heard Diana approaching.

Bruce didn't think twice, Kara had already caught the tornado and he was about to grab Kori when the girl flew at Clark, attacking him too.

Having no choice, he pulled Kara and the tornado with all his might into the tube, Jarro on his shoulder the whole time.

The last thing they saw before they left was Diana entering the room.
