"Your going to wear that?!" Plagg squawked as Adrien selected a sweater for school. "Plagg, I have to wear something to school. And be nice, Marinette knit this."
The sweater in question striped design, with an almost pea soup color and light purple. Was it one of Marinette's best creations? No, but she had made it with love, and he was going to show his appreciation. "Your going to get laughed at," Plagg warned as Adrien gathered his books. "Your just upset because I don't have any shirts with cheesy saying," Adrien teased. "Don't say I didn't warn you."
Adrien made a detour to school, picking up a coffee for Marinette as a thank you present. He whistled happily, lost in his own little world. The weather had grown much colder recently, though the autumn leaves clung to the branches. He was already thinking about Christmas and cozy blankets, and he had his Christmas wish as Cat Noir. A scratching post.
Ladybug was forever going after him when he Catayslmed the smallest objects, but at times his temper got the best of him.
Once at school, he located Marinette and walked over. "Marinette-" Adrien was cut off as a shriek rang out and Chloe hurried over. "Yes?" Marinette broke off her conversation as Chloe came into view and silumately both girls mouths dropped open.
Uh-oh. Was Plagg right? Had he chosen the worst possible choice in sweaters? "Um, I was going to thank you for the sweater, Marinette," Adrien jammed in his hands in his pockets. Chloe turned to Marinette and jabbed a perfectly manicured nail toward her. "You? You made the sweater?"
"Yes," Adrien and Marinette answered in unison. "Its incredible! What are you charging, Dupain-Cheng?" "You like the sweater?" Chloe nodded. "Adrien wouldn't make a fashion mistake, would you, Adrikins?" "Um, no," Adrien's voice rose a octave.
"I'll get back to Chloe about that price. See you in class!"
"Marinette, do I look like a doof? Be honest," Adrien pleaded. "I didn't actually think you'd wear it, but it was so cold that day I gave it to you. And what should I tell Chloe?"
Adrien smiled. "Whatever you think is best. Oh, there's the bell!"
Adrien walked away whistling. Okay, so maybe Marinette didn't mind if he didn't wear said sweater, but he wanted to. It had character. Maybe it wasn't runway material, but Adrien would wear it with his head held high.
