Chapter 5: bonding with the Others
After settling into the camp Striker and Ben had finished supper as Striker scooped out super for the group but for the Cowboy imp…it was…"Come and get it!" Striker called that dinner was ready as they sat around the fire as the snake imp hybrid gave them…what ever food he made as everyone but Hearing made a face "Little appetizer, Cesar salad, escargot and some frank rolls" he said as Octavia and Loona gagged in disgust "But I wanted the escargot" winned Hearing till Loona and Octavia gave there portion "Knock yourself bunny" said Loona "Enjoy" said Octavia as Striker walked to Adam "There you go boyo but tubby but I bet that can help you lose your weight" said Striker dropping some food on the tray as Adam made a face as Vaggie sniffed it and hissed as Ben walked over "Here better get some oatmeal *Dumps some chocolate honey with sprinkles oat mean of the …what ever Striker made… help give you some muscles" he said "Thank you Striker…Ben…very greasier and lumpy then usual" said Adam cringing "You like it? Have some more" he said pouring more on the tray grossing him out some more "your so big this can shed it right of" said Striker poking Adams belly as he blushed at that.
Stolas and the others saw Adam by his camp alone with Vaggie as he felt a bit guilty at how he and the others treated him from the beginning "You know we've been pretty tough on him, what do you say we cut the some slack?" Asked Stolas "Yeah your right" said Loona feeling guilty "Hay you want to come sit with us?" Asked Loona as Adam smiled "Really you dont mind?" He asked "Sure park it here" said Loona smiling as Adam came over "Wow this is really great…you know its an honor to be included in you…" started Adam as he started to take a seat, but Hearing quickly placed a whoopee cushion on the seat when Adam sat down and it made a funny noise as Hearing laughed like crazy "Hearing!" Stolas, Blitzo, Octavia and Loona yelled annoyed as Mayberry rolled her eyes "Well that was mean" said Adam as he took the cushion "Forgive me I could not resist" he said having a natural face.
Loona noticed that Adam was still reading the journel "Hay Adam dont you ever close that book?" She asked "Have to agree you must have read it a dozen times by now" said Octavia which was true "I know I know, but this just dosent make sense *Shows some of the enterys* you see in this passage here wrote leads up to something called it the heart of Aveyond, it could be the power source the legends refer to" he said turning the page that the journel had skipped "But then it cuts off its like there's a missing page" he said which was true "Kid relax we dont get paid overtime" said Blitzo
"I know I know I sometimes get a little carried away, but hay thats what this is about right? I mean discovery, teamwork, adventure…" started Adam "Money" they all said in unison as Adam made a face "Yeah I guess I set myself up for that" he said but groaned a bit because of his neck as he rubbed it "Is there something wrong with your neck dear?" Asked Stolas "Yeah I must have hurt it with…" started Adam "Octavia watch this" said Stolas as she nodded as the older owl male twisted his head as he felt better "Better?" He asked as the half angel stretched "Yeah how did you learn to do that?" He asked "Read it and studied among the medicine demons, learned a log and well after my divorce with my old wife Stella I took my daughter Octavia to study with them and she was quite a quick learner" said Stolas "Really?" Said Adam curious.
"I am getting there and I knew how to sew a bit of a amateur surgeon since well I studied taxidermy and collected them as well, but it just felt…well fulfilling to learn how to heal like my dad" said Octavia as Stolas patted her head "I know with practice you will become a amazing nurse." He said as Striker came around with more food "Anyone want more?" He asked but everyone refused to eat as Ben came over with some of his treats "How about my treats?" He asked but it was to sugary as everyone politely said no "Dont worry it'll keep and keep and keep" said Striker walking off "Same but more enchanted. "Thank god I lost my sense of taste years ago" said Mayberry as she and the others dumped Strikers food into the fire putting it out.
Later everyone already put on there PJs and began to set up there camping tents as Adam struggled "Aren't you gonna pitch up your tent?" Asked Loona seeing Adam struggling "Well I just did" he replied…but it was not good as Loona gave him her sleeping bag and set her tent up properly "Guess I'm still a little rusty, I haven't got camping since…well since the last time my adopted grandfather took me and my twin sister" said Adam with a far off smile "I never got the chance to meet your grandfather what was he like?" Asked Loona "Well he was blunt but honest and wise *Gets into his tent* he was like a father to me and my twin sister Lilith, our parents died when we were still young and he took us end and raised us up" he said chuckling at the good memories as he looked far away "Hay you ok?" She asked as the half angel chuckled "I am ok, just thinking one time when me and Lilly were eight we were hiking along the stream and we saw something shinning in the water it was a genuine arrow head, and you think we founded a lost civilization our grandpa carried on and on. It wasnt until I was older I realized the arrow head was just some shell mixed with stone that was trashed into a fracture triangular shape *Smiles* but it was a good feeling" he said as Hearing peeked "That is cute" he said.
"Say Loona, no offense but how does a Hellhound your age became the chief mechanic of a multi-dollar expedition" he asked curious "Well like you I lost my family when I was a kid and Blitz took me in when I was a pup and when he discovered his love of demolitions he decided to put me to work to know how to put things to gather and how to fix things, I learned along with beating up sinners and assassins I enjoyed working with my paws, though I think Dad wanted me to stay safe from the crazy out there *watches Blitzo talking with Stolas* he and Stolas married after Stolas divorced his wife due to the fact she wasnt emotionally ready to wed and well its a bit of a ride but it feels nice to have a sister" said Loona as Adam was in awe "I am doing this to help dad out with his dream to open up a assassination buisness to help sinners who want revenge" said Loona as Adam saw Mayberry "um you forgot your jammies" said Adam "I sleep in the nude" she said boldly as Adam made a face as Stolas gave some sleeping masks "You are gonna need these she sleepwalks" he said as Adam nodded in shock "Well as far as I go on backstories I just love blowing up stuff" Said Blitzo as Stolas gave a look "Come on Blitzy tell the angel the truth" he said as Blitzo exasperated sighed "Finnnnneeee, I used to work in a circus with my dad, mom, my twin sister Barbie wire and adopted brother Frizzaroli it was a good gig, hard at times due to the brats but it was satisfying but I wanted…well more something far diffrent then just circus doing, then I guess there was a gas leak close to the circus and then boom! Our circus unfortunately burned down and it was hard and tragic and my mom was lost, but it was a sign from god and Satan to become a demolitions expert and after making sure my twin is ok and my brother Frizzaroli was ok and he got to be with Stolas cousion Asmodus and well me and Stolas marriage I founded myself the boom and a good life" said Blitzo as they saw Hearing digging a hole for him to sleep as he shut off the lamp and laughed a lamp.
"Should I ask about Hearings story?" Asked Adam "You dont trust me, and Loona you dont tell me, you shouldn't tell me, but you did and I am gonna tell you that you dont want to know" said Stolas as he blew out the candle.
Soon everyone was asleep in there tents as the figures wearing masks and holding spears came from there hiding spots spying on the group as one came up and slowly and quietly came to Adams tent trying to not wake him as the mask Stranger looked inside the bag and pulled the stuff out as the figure pulled out of the bag and saw a picture of Ozpin and Adam and Lilly when they were young. Suddenly the curiosity is done as Adam crawled out of the cave with a daze look as the stranger ran off without getting caught as Adam turned on the flashlight and holding a toilet paper seeing he needs to use the bathroom as he snuck quietly pass the sleeping crew and went to somewhere private to do his buisness as he held the flashlight around his neck as he loosened his pants to do his deed, but all of the sudden the light shone on the glow moss and a bunch of glowing bugs flew out of the rock as Adam saw seething flying around him as he started to shoo them away and whacked one with the toilet paper, but it caused a fire from it as he woke up seeing them setting the tents on fire and saw more flying from the rock.
"Oh dear god Fire! Fire! Fire!" He yelled waking up the crew and his freinds inside Vox tent he looked at the clock annoyed at what time it was "I am gonna kill that fat angel" he said crawling out of his tent "Adam go back to bed!" He yelled but saw the fire burning the tents "Get some water on that fire!" Yelled Erza commanding the soldiers to put it out "There no time *Getting dressed* get us into those caves! Move it! Move it! Move now!" Ordered Vox as everyone got into their cars and trucks and drove them before its too late as more swarmed "Adam Jump" yelled Loona as Adam picked up the speed and jumped into the truck inter as they drove their trucks over the bridge as fast as they could but one is caught in the fire and exploding killing the sinners as the flames seem to be a sacred fire as without warning the explosion caused the cave walls to shake as the rock where the bugs came from fell and broke the bridge causing it to crack as the trucks couldent go any further and was stuck.
"Oh nonononono" yelled Hearing panicking trying to get his truck from sliding as suddenly the bridge broke forcing the trucks to slide as everyone panicked as Vox gasped in shock as suddenly…everyrthing has crashed loudly and went black. Vox light up a match "Alright who's not dead? Sound off" he commanded as groans were heard from the crew as they survived from the cruz "Dang those blasted bugs bit me in the tail, somebody has to suck out the poisoN" said Striker as everyone got disgusted at that "Striker thos bugs were fire bugs not poisonous your fine" said Ben annoyed as Vox turned on a light "Loona give me a damage report" said Vox
"*Studies the items* not as bad as it could have been, we totaled rigs to seven but the digger looks like it'll still run, lucky for us we landed on something soft" Loona explained pointing at what looks like white powder "All of this ash *picks up a pile of it sniffing it* we are standing in the base of a dorment volcano" he said as Erza shoved him away and sot up a flare to see how high it is "it just keeps going" she said "Maybe its our ticket out of here" said Blitzo as the light faded "Maybe not" said Erza "the magma has to be lifted to the bowels of the volcano blocking the exit" said Hearing explaining "I've got the same problem with solid crud" said Mayberry "Hold on are you saying this whole volcano can blow at anytime?" Asked Stolas as Hearing shook his head "No that would take an explosive force of a great magnitude" relied Hearing as everyone stared at Blitzo as he was working on the time bomb as the imp paused and looks at them chuckling "I guess I can do this later" he said putting it away "If we can blow the top of that thing we have a straight shot to the surface, Adam what do you think?" The tv headed sinner asked but noticed that the half angel was missing "Adam? Adam" where are you" her asked confused on where he was.
Meanwhile Adam is knocked out from the fall seperated from the crew as he slowly started to wake up as he heard whispers around him as he slowly opened his eyes and saw he was surrounded by the masked strapped as he gasped in shock panicking as he was worried as he didnt know what they were gonna do to him. Suddenly the same mask stranger who was studying Adam looked closer and saw a cut on Adams shoulder bleeding as Adam realizing groaned in pain as the crash must had cut his shoulder as he noticed the blood on his shoulder the figure in the mask studying him removed his mask revealing a demon with pale snow white skin and short white hair the only color was a blue mark under his left yellow red eyes and red rosy cheeks and what looked like black gloved arms and a blue loincloth tunic and red tipped foot claws and a blue crystal around his neck named Lucifer Morningstar as he studied the cut as he held the crystal thats on his neck and touched it against the cut as he cringed in pain as Adam looked down and saw the cut has disappeared as he sighed as he looked at Lucifer who smiled at him gently as he puts on the mask as rumbling as heared casing him and those with him to run away. "Wait! Who are you?!" He asked confused following him as they jumped on rocks as he climbed and jumped to follow him as Adam made it to the light and ran to the edge "Who are you?" He called confused.
Suddenly the digger truck Hearing is driving broke through the wall and all the crew as well as Vaggie (Who rode on Blitzos pocket) ran over to Adam as he was happy to see she was safe as they all stood behind Adam and stared in amazement at what they saw, a gigantic waterfall flowing from a circle platform
"Sweet Mother of Jefferson Davis!/The white flour goddess!" Said Striker and Ben in awe
"Its beautiful" said Loona amazed as Stolas gently patted Adams shoulder "Adam I got a hand it to you, you really came through" he said as the masked strangers jumped down in front of them pointing there spears "I take it back you brought violence to us" said Stolas panicking "Holy crap who are these guys!" Said Vox defensively "They've got to be the Aveyonian angels" said Adam in awe "What? Thats impossible!" Said Erza surprising "I've seen this in wrath, they can smell fear just be looking at you so be quiet" said Striker as Lucifer behind his mask began to speak in their own language that the crew dosent understand "I think its talking to you" said Hearing thinking the shorter angel was talking to Adam as Lucifer continued to talk when Adam began to talk in the same language of the old angels as Lucifer removed his mask and started to talk to Adam speaking in the language of the old angels until they started speaking in other languages as Adam was in awe as he spoke French as Lucifer did the same and then Underworld speak "Oooh they speak my language" said Hearing as he walked over as Lucifer knelt to his lover "Pardon me good sir I was wondering if there are any lovely females so I can…" he said whispering something in Lucifers ear as he glared and punched the rabbit like Underworlder in the face as Octavia laughed "ooo I like him" she said "About time some one does it, I should had done it myself but it feels good to see" said Loona smirking as the other angels took off there makes chatting hello to the other crew in diffrent languages "How the heck do they know all the languages?" Asked Loona
"Their language must be based on the root dialog like the tower of babble" said Adam in awe "Well maybe English is in there somewhere *To the angels* We are explorers of the surface world, we come in peace" said Vox "Welcome to the city of Aveyond, come you must speak to my mother" said Lucifer in English as he pulled Adam to come with him as Vox cave commanded his soldiers "Squad B head back to the shack and get me as much as you can, we'll be back in 24 hours" said Vox as the crew got there tucks as they drove across the bridge following Lucifer as it was amazing and beautiful and as Adam dreams about.
Authors note: looks like they all made it but it dosent mean it will be a good thing for some.
Next chapter Alice talks and bonds with Lucifer though Sera seems cautious and suspicious of what Vox has planned
