While running to catch the last ferry off Cinnabar Island, Ash accidentally ran into a Wartortle that is trying to help its king Blastoise, a ruler of a small island that will not awake from its slumber. Squirtle donned his old persona as head of the Squirtle Squad to solve the case. It turned out Jigglypuff was stuck in one of Blastoise's blasters, singing its lullaby, which has caused the Blastoise to fall asleep.

As usual once freed (and after a battle with Team Rocket) Jigglypuff starts singing, which puts everyone to sleep yet again.

In another angry tirade, Jigglypuff scribbled on everyone's faces and the Turtle Pokémon's shells. Upon realizing this, everyone laughs off the incident except for Misty, who is annoyed because the marker scribbling makes her look like a cartoon character.

Later, the quartet wave goodbye to the island and its Turtle Pokémon with the gang using their water pokèmon (Misty's staryu, Starmie, and Goldeen, along with Aquata the Vaporeon and Idril the shiny Staryu) to simply pull an old row boat right to the mainland as transportation.

On their way to Viridian city, Misty's seahorse looked rather down in the mouth. Brock suggests that it needs to find a bigger pool to swim in, and so, the gang decided to head for Misty's home town, Cerulean City.

When they get there, they discover that Misty's sisters at the Cerulean Gym are having trouble attracting crowds to their performances and have advertised Misty to be in a new performance called the Underwater Ballet.

Misty is reluctant to be a part of this at first and shocked to learn that the first performance is tomorrow. She finally agrees after a lot of begging from her sisters alongside Laoise, Ash and Brock's encouragement (with Laoise offering to do narration). Misty's sisters then celebrate after convincing their little sister to do what they want, much to Misty's chagrin.

"Hey, does this mean Misty will sing 'Part of your world' in full mermaid costume?" Laoise joked.

This suggestion made Misty sweat drop. "I... don't think I can sing an entire song in front of all those people."

"Haven't you ever listened to yourself on a tape recorder?" Laoise questioned.

The sisters soon begin rehearsing as Violet, the scriptwriter, reads it out. Misty remains disinterested and nervous, though her sisters actively act out the scenes including the sword fights.

On the day of the performance, a large crowd fills the whole Gym, eager to see the show. Ash and Brock are sitting among the audience, though Misty is nervous after seeing the size of the crowd. After an introductory announcement from Laoise backstage, the lights dim and the Gym's pool rises close to the ceiling. The show started smoothly with Misty swimming with the water Pokémon.

But as usual, Team Rocket arrives and try to ruin things however the heroes thwart their scheme once again.

The crowd goes wild, having enjoyed the show. Because of this, the Cerulean Gym shows are popular again, with months worth of bookings set up. Before departing, Misty decides to leave Horsea at the Gym after Brock reminds her of Horsea's condition, and her sisters also borrow her Starmie.

As Misty talks, Daisy picked up a curious Togepi.

Daisy greeted, "Hi, cutie!"

Misty snatched Togepi away, "Wait! You're not getting Togepi!"

"Not to burst your bubbles, but it doesn't know any moves yet and it can't swim, either." Laoise pointed out.

Misty then puts Psyduck in front of her. "But you can keep this, if you want it."

Psyduck looked up at Misty's sisters, "Psy?"

Violet replied, "We're not that desperate!"

Daisy then held up Pikachu, "How about Pikachu?"

Ash retorted, "Don't even think it!"

Later, the four trainers bid farewell to the Sensational Sisters to continue their journey. As they leave Cerulean City, Ash complimented Misty's performance, but Misty irritably reminded him that he still owes her a bike.

Our heroes get sidetracked in Viridian City when all of their belongings mysteriously disappear. While searching for their missing things, the group find themselves mixed up in a close encounter that's really out of this world!

Many other people have also been robbed. As Brock questions why the robbers chose such obscure items, a man named Oswald enters and believes the string of thefts are the work of aliens. Officer Jenny reveals that objects began disappearing three nights ago.

While searching around, they see a UFO land in front of them - but it's Team Rocket in disguise. Before the battle with Team Rocket can continue, a Clefairy appears, and Oswald's scanner says that it is an alien. It says the same thing about Jigglypuff when it shows up. When the scanner says Misty is an alien, she knocks it out of his hand, breaking Oswald's comic book-ordered scanner.

Laoise thought Oswald might have his lines crossed. It's true Laoise might believe in angels, aliens and other wondrous things, but she remained skeptical that the Clefairy were actually extra-terrestials.

Then a Clefairy made off with Pikachu. Team Rocket attempted to pursue it, but are stopped in their tracks by its Reflect. The four trainers pursue the Clefairy, only to find themselves facing a dead-end. Jigglypuff uncovers that she went into a manhole, and proceeds to jump in, with Ash and the others following it. As they land deep underground, the group finds themselves faced with the spaceship. Oswald speculates that the Clefairy built the craft, to which Brock realizes that they were the ones who stole all the items as parts for the ship.

Inside the ship, Jigglypuff defeats all the Clefairy with a series of Pound attacks, and later battles the leader, who is in the cockpit. Oswald made his way to the cockpit and tries to pull a lever, but it breaks off. It turns out to be Jigglypuff's marker microphone, which Jigglypuff takes and then sings its song, putting everyone inside the ship to sleep. The ship is timed to take off, and does. The stolen items are all lost during the takeoff, and are returned to their rightful owners. The rocket, with Team Rocket still aboard, detaches from the ship and falls. Ash finds Pikachu, whose Electric attacks are too powerful for his prison, shattering the glass. So the quartet escape from the ship, with Ash's and Laoise's Bulbasaurs using Vine Whip to grab onto a skyscraper as the spacecraft continues its ascent.

So our heroes continue their Pokémon journey, unaware that Jigglypuff is following them.

Now our heroes are back in Viridian City, where Ash and Laoise hope to win an Earth badge. If they do, it will be their eighth and they'll finally be able to compete in the Pokémon League.

"I can't believe it's been a whole year since we were here!" Ash proclaimed.

Laoise glanced around, "Yeah, feels like only yesterday I walked right into the city and asked for directions."

Misty notices something familiar. "Well, the Pokémon Center's up and running again."

Ash remarked, "That's great!

Soon, our heroes arrived at the gym. The Gym featured ancient Roman architecture, stately pillars, and an old mural. A predominant brownish color scheme was used most likely to represent the Gym's affiliation with the Ground type.

Brock pointed it out, "The Viridian gym! And inside there are two Earth badges with your names on them!"

Our heroes approach the threshold of the gym anxiously.

"Me and Laoise already have seven badges, we just need one more to get in the Pokémon League! We've gotta win it here!" Ash said.

Pikachu became determined "Pika!"

Laoise became sober, "It's time to go big or go home."

"I know we can do it. We're both on a hot streak!" Ash said.

He and Laoise soon get a burning fire of passion in their eyes.

Brock commented, "Wow. Those two are all fired up."

Misty looked annoyed. "Yeah."

Pikachu and Togepi are soon revealed to have set up a campfire at Ash's feet.

Misty then yelped, "Holy smokes! Put out that fire!"

Ash finds out that his shoe is on fire and he began putting it out.

"Why did you do that, Pikachu?"

Pikachu was apologetic, "Pikachu."

Ash took it in stride, "That's okay, Pikachu. You were just trying to get me all warmed up for the battle, weren't you?"

Pikachu nodded, "Pika Pika."

Ash's eyes were shining, "With a pal like you behind me, how could I lose?"

"Pikachu!" Pikachu's eyes were also shining with emotion.

Both boy and pokèmon held hands and paws together. It was a precious sight that brought a smile to Laoise.

Brock was touched. "A boy and his Pokémon, that's so beautiful!"

Misty shrugged. "Whatever."

Laoise teased. "Jealous, are you? I think they both look so sweet!"

A sports car rolls up with a familiar laugh being heard from it.

"Still playing with your cute little Poké-pals, eh, Ash?" Gary sat in the car looking down on them.

Gary's cheerleaders start cheering for him.

Gary jeered, "I thought that you and Liam finally gave up catching and training Pokémon. I figured you both went back to Pallet. But, no. Here you both are, still at it.

Laoise snapped, "It's called determination, pal!"

Ash stood up, "She's right! We'll show you!"

Brock placed a calming hand on Ash's shoulder, "Take it easy, guys."

Gary taunted them, "I bet neither of you have enough badges to get into the Pokémon League yet."

"We both only have to win one more to get in!" Ash answered back.

"And you were completely lying to us when you said there was no gym on Cinnabar Island!" Laoise snapped, "We both went there, and got us a Volcano Badge each, see?!" She opened her bad case and showed her Volcano Badge.

Gary was momentarily stunned. "You mean, you actually..." he regained his composure. "It doesn't matter." He got out his badge case. "You both have some catching up to do."

Everyone looks and sees that Gary has ten badges instead of the usual eight.

"As you can see, I already have ten badges." Gary glaoted.

Laoise squinted suspiciously, "Hey, where did you get the other three? Since you said that there was no Volcano badge on Cinnabar."

"None of your business, McGrady." He closed his badge case. "Still think you both have what it takes to become Pokemon masters?"

Ash growled angrily. Laoise pursed her lips in annoyance.

"I just stopped by on my way back to Pallet to see if the leader of this gym wants to battle a real Pokémon trainer." Gary jumped out of his car.

Laoise yelled after him, "Better get in line, because I too want to battle the gym leader."

But Gary had already reached the guards.

"I'm Gary Oak from Pallet, and I hereby request a battle with the leader of this gym!" he said.

Both guards stamp their axes on the ground and the door opened.

Gary's cheerleaders followed excitedly.

"Let's go!"

"This'll be cool!"

"Gary will win again, like he always does."

Laoise had hurried up to the guards, "I'm Laoise from the Bluebell Hollows, and I seek to battle for an Earth badge."

Ash made up his mind too. "Come on, Pikachu. We're going in, too."

However, the guards blocked their way with their axes.

"Only one trainer allowed in the gym at a time, kids."

Ash protested, "But I have to get in there!"

"That's the rule." The guards both said at the same time, and the doors closed.

Ash scowled. "If I don't do something fast, Gary's gonna get way ahead of me."

"Reality check, Ash. Gary's been ahead of you and Laoise from the start." Misty reminded.

Misty's blunt words made Ash slump.

Brock whispered to Misty, "Maybe you can be just a little easier on Ash right now."

Misty whispered back, "Well, I'm only telling the truth."

Laoise hissed, "But it's confidence he needs right now, not the harsh truth."

"Maybe I'm not the greatest yet, but I care about my Pokémon just as much as anybody does. Maybe more." Ash mumbled.

As he spoke, Togepi went to comfort him.

Thank you. You're the only one who always stand by me no matter what. Oh, Pikachu." Ash opened his eyes and noticed he's holding Togepi, and the shock makes him accidentally toss Togepi into the air. It lands on a flagpole and bounces off it, landing in a Fearow's mouth, to the shock of our heroes. The Fearow then flies away!

Misty was shocked, "Togepi!" she frantically grabsbed Ash. "Why did you do that to my Togepi?!"

Ash replied, "Misty, it was an egg-cident! Get it? Egg?"

"Let's go! Togepi!" Misty hurried off.

Our heroes proceeded to follow the Fearow.

Meanwhile, Team Rocket is perched high on top of a skyscraper, searching for our heroes.

"I don't see those twerps anywhere, James. Do you?" Jessie looked through her binoculars

James looked through his own set, "No, and I haven't spotted Pikachu either, Jessie."

Meowth remarked. "Hey, I bet da boss would love a spotted Pikachu."

At that moment, Fearow spat out Togepi, which lands on James' backside.

"What did you do that for, Meowth?!" James yelped.

Meowth turned to him, "I don't know what you're talking about."

James snapped, "Meowth, I demand to know why you just kicked me!"

Meowth retorted, "Don't flatter yourself, I wouldn't waste my time kicking you!"

Togepi soon walks between them, catching Team Rocket's attention.

"Togepi?"

Jessie tries to grab Togepi, but it evades her grasp and wanders onto a wooden plank linking the building to its neighboring structure. Jessie crawls in pursuit, though the plank gives way under her weight and she is sent plummeting to the street below. James and Meowth rush down the stairs to catch her but, despite making it down before her, they miss and she hits the ground. As Jessie picks herself up, Togepi lands on her head, allowing her to grab it before collapsing in exhaustion.

Meanwhile, at the gym, Gary, supported by his fans, challenges the Gym Leader, who is shrouded in shadows.

"I am the Viridian gym leader. Who are you two?"

Gary responded, "I'm Gary Oak, the best Pokémon trainer in Pallet."

The boy knew not that he was right in the belly of the beast, so to speak.

Giovanni smiled from the shadows, "Confident, aren't we? Alright, let's begin your challenge."

The guards declared, "You will use three Pokémon! No time limit! Let the battle begin!"

The bell rang and the match is underway.

Gary chose Nidoking and the Leader responded by selecting Golem. The Gym Leader commenced with a Tackle attack, and Gary responds in kind, ordering a Tackle from his Nidoking. This sends Golem flying backward into the wall, defeated. The Gym Leader then chooses Kingler, and Gary consults his Pokédex, which informs him that Kingler is the evolved form of Krabby. The Gym Leader resumes with a Crabhammer. Nidoking dodges the attack, but Gary recalls him and chooses Arcanine. Ordering Arcanine to perform Take Down followed by Fire Spin, Kingler is sent reeling amidst cheering from Gary's fans. Arcanine's Fire Blast is sufficient enough to beat Kingler.

Gary boasted, "Maybe we should call it quits. You can't beat me, and you definitely don't want two losses in a row."

Giovanni steps out of the shadows. "Is that what you think, little one?"

"It is!" Gary replied.

"Maybe I can have just one more battle to test out my most, powerful Pokémon." Giovanni snapped his fingers.

A door slowly opened to reveal a creature clad in cybernetic armor. The beast starts glowing blue and its eyes light up under the visor of its helmet.

Soon, Arcanine is lifted up and tossed into the wall as the cheerleaders run and scream.

"How did it do that?" Gary took out his Pokédex. "What kind of Pokémon is that?!"

"Pokémon unknown. No available data." said his pokèdex.

Gary began to sweat, "No data?"

"Now, as I was saying, my friend, I'd like to test out this Pokémon of mine in battle. And go ahead and use more than one Pokémon if you're afraid to lose." Giovannie said.

Gary answered back, "I'm not afraid of anything!"

"Well, let's get started."

Gary sends both Arcanine and Nidoking forth to battle. Even as they attack, the mysterious Pokémon once again uses its Psychic powers to lift the pair from the ground.

Giovanni smirked, "Don't waste your time. This is the ultimate Pokémon! It can never be defeated."

For possibly one of the first few times in his life, Gary began to cower in fear.

To be continued...

Author's note: Well the votes came in on the poll I placed on DeviantART. Double team together is a go. Will put up the eighth gym battle soon, still need to work it out. In the meantime I'll be updating my Goosebumps fanfiction for the fun of it with October coming up.

Also for the big fat information I will do the movies I WANT!
