Chapter 37
Alice and Jasper's Wedding
Bella
Five days had passed since my last pregnancy checkup.
I lay in our bed overjoyed and looked at the little picture in my hand.
Since my growling stomach woke us, or rather me, Edward was already in the kitchen. He wanted to conjure up a sufficient surprise breakfast for me.
Today would be very exhausting for me.
If it were up to my wonderful husband, I should just lie in bed and do nothing.
Besides not being able to do THAT, I was responsible for Alice and Jasper's wedding. I had promised Jasper that I would help him with everything, and I did.
Today would be their special day. Unbelievably, my annoying little sister-in-law had no idea about any of this until now. Surely she would be happy about my surprise? I had only told Jasper what was absolutely necessary so that Alice would certainly not see anything. So it was actually a surprise for both of them.
Yesterday Edward and I went to the bridal store to pick up the dresses.
Unfortunately, I did not fit into mine. Maybe I should have listened to the saleswoman when she told me to take it one size bigger. If you don't want to hear, you have to feel, as the saying goes.
As expected, my belly had grown quite a bit, so now I needed a proper maternity dress, which I quickly found with the help of Edward.
Currently, I looked like I was already at the end of pregnancy, not just in the fourth month.
Fortunately, Charlie and Renée were enlightened about everything.
I was still a little shocked at this issue.
My dad got turned on to the subject of vampires by Billy. Jacob had also lost remarks about it over and over again. The Blacks just couldn't let it go. They wanted my dad to know about the Cullens at all costs.
Dogged as my dad was, he paid attention to every detail of Edward.
Finally, I didn't want to lie to Charlie any longer and told him everything. However, I didn't know that my mom was already on her way to us and that my dad would blab to her.
After a final conversation with Esmé and Carlisle, my parents were now completely enlightened.
At first I thought they were in shock or something. But no, both took this news completely normal, and they were happy with us about our Mousie.
I was still looking at the picture in my hand. Somehow it would not let me go. It had really put me under its spell. I only came out of my reverie when Edward was standing next to me with breakfast.
Since the day ahead was going to be quite busy, I decided to linger in bed a bit longer and let Edward feed me.
"You got a call earlier? From whom?", I asked.
"He didn't want to say that. He just wanted me to tell you that the weather today will be cloudless and without sun. Knowing you, I'm sure you won't tell me what that means now, will you?"
"That's right," I grinned cheekily.
After eating too much, Edward carried me to the bathroom. To save my strength for the wedding, I was not allowed to take a shower. I actually had to sit in the bathtub.
I felt like a little child.
The only advantage, Edward spoiled my body not only with the washcloth. I enjoyed his every touch. The combination of the hot water and Edward's cold hands was incredible.
Since my pregnancy, I reached my climaxes much faster and also more intense. This feeling was always phenomenal anew!
Unfortunately, I could not enjoy my feeling of happiness for long, because Edward's siblings let themselves into our house.
As agreed, Rosalie and Emmett arrived together with Jasper.
Rosalie would then take Jasper to the agreed upon meeting place while Edward, Emmett and I took care of Alice.
Which was certainly the more difficult task.
Esmé and Carlisle made sure my parents arrived on time.
Thus, they should actually already be on the way to them. Since the time was already short, and I held nothing of makeup anyway, I was quickly ready to go.
The running with Edward no longer did me any good.
While the two boys brought Alice the dress, I hung over the toilet and unloaded the contents of my stomach.
As expected, my overly anxious husband was quickly outside the bathroom door.
A few minutes later, I was thankfully halfway fit again.
Hopefully I survived the next run better, at least my stomach was empty now.
Knowing Edward, he would suggest an alternative plan in a moment.
When I opened the door, I acted quickly. Before he could say anything, I put my finger on his lips.
"I'm fine, ... really," I said with full conviction.
We didn't have time to make changes.
Alice has exactly ten minutes left to style herself, which I'm sure would be difficult for her since we hadn't told her where the trip was going yet.
Emmett kept her company, which certainly didn't make him happy.
Our little pain in the ass was not on her best behavior at the moment. She cursed loudly, and I imagined I heard something clink. It could have been her favorite vase or a picture frame. In any case, it had to be something made of glass.
Knowing her, I'm sure it drove her crazy not being able to see what was waiting for her.
"But if ..."
Again I interrupted him, but this time with my lips.
As soon as we broke away from each other, I said, "If I get sick again, I'll let you know in time, I promise."
"Okay. Don't forget your promise. We'll be ready to go in a minute. Emmett just informed me that Alice is finally ready."
Edward had hardly spoken when Alice was already standing at the top of the stairs. The wedding dress was made for her. She wore her hair up and her make-up discreet.
Alice looked beautiful, but very angry.
"You ... you ... how can you do this to me?" she snapped as she strode down the stairs.
Oh yes, and how angry she was.
I gathered all my courage and then I started my speech.
"You shut up now and listen to me. Just enjoy the moment of being surprised for once. You always know beforehand with your visions what you will get as a gift. I took advantage of your current block and planned your wedding completely on my own. Jasper and our family are already waiting for you. We're going to blindfold you now, and to keep your dress clean, Emmett will carry you."
"Cool, little sis. I like you so confident and strong," Emmett laughed.
To my surprise, Alice didn't make a sound. She allowed herself to be blindfolded without resistance and lifted up by Emmett.
Edward did the same and off they ran with us.
Because of Edward's speed, we were on the baseball field before Emmett.
I needed a lot of space for my surprise.
I did not want to use our clearing. It would have been more romantic, but it was and remained ours.
Thus, there was not too much choice anymore, because we also did not want to attract attention. Thanks to the support of Esmé and Rosalie, the field on which they played baseball was transformed into a dreamlike landscape.
In the center, everyone was already gathered around the priest, who was making the final preparations in the hot air balloon.
From afar, Alice could be heard cursing loudly. She was still furious.
Somehow you couldn't blame her either. I, too, would not be pleased in this situation. I, on the other hand, felt proud. Finally, Alice felt firsthand what it was like to not want to be surprised.
A look around showed me all the happy faces.
Jasper shone the brightest. He smirked affectionately when Emmett came out of the forest with Alice in his arms.
Emmett set the little wriggling elf on her feet and spoke to her.
No idea what he said.
Jasper had certainly heard it, as his smirk now became more intense.
At Emmett's signal, the priest pressed play on the CD player, then Emmett took the blindfold off Alice and turned her in our direction.
Alice's eyes were wide open, and she stared at all of us with her mouth open.
If she had had tears, they would surely be running down her cheeks now and destroying her perfect makeup.
Slowly, she approached us with Emmett.
Her gaze was fixed on Jasper, who held hers. It was as if time stood still all around, as if there were only the two of them. Finally, a smile graced Alice's face. All the anger should have faded away.
Arriving at Jasper's, she put her hand in his and then he lifted her to him in the basket.
"Alice wants me to tell you thank you for everything," Edward whispered in my ear.
Now my face was adorned with an overjoyed smile.
At that moment, I was more than proud of myself. Everything was perfect.
I had ordered a hot air balloon with the saying 'Just married' on it, which was decorated with red as well as white roses all around the basket.
"We are gathered here today to renew the wedding vows of Alice and Jasper."
For this purpose, the priest placed a ribbon around their clasped hands.
"Since it's going up soon, I'll make it quick," the priest grinned cheekily. "Jasper, will you take Alice, who is here present, to be your lawful wedded wife once more?"
"Yes, I do," Jasper replies with a loving smile.
"And Alice, will you take Jasper, who is here present, to be your lawful wedded husband once more?"
"Yes, I do," came quite quietly from Alice.
"By the power of my office, I pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss each other."
Well, the two didn't need to be told twice.
Jasper took Alice stormily in his arms and pressed his lips on hers, which returned this kiss only too gladly.
Edward also took advantage of this romantic moment by giving me a tender kiss.
As soon as the two broke away from each other, we applauded them.
Carlisle and Esmé began their congratulations, followed by Charlie and Renée.
After Rose and Emmett, it was Edward and my turn.
"I wish you both all the love, and have fun on your honeymoon. "
At the same time, I hugged Alice. She held me very tightly, almost too tightly.
"Thank you, Bella. You are the best. This is all so ... so unique. I never expected such a beautiful fancy wedding. I love you."
"I was happy to do it. I'm very glad you like everything."
"And how I like it. Once again, thank you very much."
Finally, she loosened her embrace a bit.
Jasper also hugged me, but fortunately with a little more distance. He also thanked me several times for everything.
Finally, Emmett and Edward cut the tethers of the hot air balloon and the happy bride and groom took to the skies.
Since I couldn't talk Esmé out of cooking for the so-called meal, after they were out of sight, we all went to the Cullens'.
Charlie, Renée and I let it taste good. My stomach was at least very grateful for this delicious food.
