Aqua walks up to Riku and frowns a little as she sits beside him, taking his hand in hers.
"Uh-oh, I know that look. What's on your mind this time?"
She asks patiently. Riku looks up at her and smiles a little, kissing her cheek lightly before going back to staring out at the horizon. His smile fades and he shakes his head
"I thought I was over my jealousy. I could've sworn I got over it and was happy to just support Sora, but… I was thinking about what happened in the Graveyard while we were trying to stop Xehanort and… It just isn't fair. He freed everyone in his heart, while I lost everyone in mine."
Aqua frowns more at the statement and looks over at him, studying the resentment and sadness in the other boy's eyes.
"What do you mean?"
she prompts softly. He takes a deep breath and leans back on his hands, closing his eyes for a moment before opening them again, shifting his gaze from the horizon to the sky.
"Well… We freed Roxas, Xion, and Ven, brought them all back to the world. And in doing so, we were able to save you and Terra, along with making Lea happy, which is great, don't get me wrong. I'm glad we saved everyone. We couldn't have won that day without all of you. But at the same time… I lost my other self, my replica. I lost Ansem… And then? I even lost Sora and Kairi. Why is that? Why was he able to help everyone and gain so many new friends, while I lost everyone. Heck, even Kairi got to save Namine and bring her back!"
He explains, falling silent as he vents out his thoughts. Aqua stays quiet for a few minutes as she processes all that, gazing up at the sky as well before looking back at him.
"I… Don't really know what to say to that, I won't lie. I guess none of us really thought about that. You're right, all of us gained something during the war. I got Ven and Terra back, Lea got Xion and Roxas, and Kairi freed Namine. But you did lose quite a bit. And I don't know where Kairi or Sora are, but I do know that we will find them… And you gained all of us. We all consider you our friend, you know that. Me more so than the others"
She says with a soft smile. Riku smiles faintly in return and nods
"I know. And I am glad to have all of you safely back in the Realm of Light. I just… I don't know, I'm just being selfish I guess. I'm sorry, don't mind me."
Aqua shakes her head and cups his cheek, forcing him to look at her
"It isn't selfish to want to gain rather than lose. Especially after everything you've been through."
She says gently. He relaxes and smiles softly, leaning into the touch and nodding
"Thanks… I'll be alright. Like I said, just thinking."
Aqua nods and stands, dusting herself off
"Alright, then I'll go. But hey, don't forget, you aren't alone anymore, ok? We're all here."
She reminds, ruffling his hair before walking off. Riku chuckles and relaxes, leaning back and closing his eyes, trying to clear his mind and soothe his anger, feeling better after having someone to talk to.
