Wynn slowly pushed himself off the snowbank where he had collapsed at the end of the battle. The fighting was over. The Void Jumpers, with the Skywalkers and Solos, had defeated both the Ssi-Ruuk machines at the Lodge and their masters at the old Rebel Base. He could see Nek consulting with his captains as groups of Void Jumpers piled the droid remains into shuttles, to be taken back to Coruscant for analysis. No doubt Nek would soon be comming Natasi to tell her of their success and assure her that he was safe. As Wynn found his balance, he continued to survey the area. The situation was under control. He was not needed at the moment.

He could find Desha.

"Chief Dorvan, are you okay?" Lando met him at the door of the Lodge. "You don't look so good."

Wynn smiled. "I'll be fine. Are all the Jedi inside?"

"Yeah, Han and I got the Kids out of the basement, with the droids' help. Luke, Mara, and Leia are with Vestara and Ben. Looks like those little scamps are in a hurry." Lando looked thoughtful. "Do I get to charge them for two extra passengers?"

"The passengers were already onboard," Wynn reminded him. "They were just hidden."

"Not hidden too well," Lando chuckled. "Come on. There's someone in here who's been worryin' about you."

Desha.

Wynn followed Lando through the door in a daze. He could hear Vestara's suppressed cries from an adjoining room, could hear Mara's voice encouraging her and Ben's trying to soothe her.

"They've got everything under control in there." Lando motioned upstairs. "This is where you're needed, Chief."

Allana, Chance, Han and the rest of the Skywalker Twins were gathered in the parlor of a large suite. Allana sat in the middle of a plump, plush couch, a look of intense concentration on her face.

"Wynn!" She squealed and rushed across the room to hug him. "I'm so glad you're all right."

"Mama!" Carrie screamed.

Hayden and Natalie wailed and clutched each other. Mark flapped his hands, whimpering in distress. Adam began to cry.

"Oops." Allana took a deep breath and the concentrated look returned to her face. "Vestara's too deep in labor to shield them from her pain anymore. I think the other Jedi are using everything they've got to help her. So, that just leaves me."

"Having Jedi in the family is not for the faint of heart," Han quipped, lounging in a chair in the corner. "Especially not when they're Skywalkers."

"Having Jedi for friends is not so easy sometimes, either," Lando added, "but I don't think the Chief came up here to commiserate with us."

A door slid open and Desha Lor stepped through, holding little Daisy in her arms. She held the little girl up, as if inviting inspection. "See, Chume'da. I told you I could change a diaper."

"Desha," Wynn murmured. He had never seen her look so lovely.

"Wynn!" Desha's eyes widened. She handed the baby to Allana and rushed to him even faster than Allana had. "You're alive. You're okay-" she paused. "No, you're not okay, but I'm going to take care of you."

Slowly, reverently, Wynn took her hands in his. "I had to live, Desha. I had to tell you."

She stared at their joined hands, then lifted her gaze to his face. "Tell me what?"

"I love you, Desha."

She laughed, her whole body shaking with amusementyt67.

Wynn blinked. He didn't have a great deal of experience with romance, it was true, but he was fairly certain laughter was not the usual response to a love confession.

Desha pulled one of her hands free and placed it on his cheek. Her laughter stopped. Moving closer to him, she whispered. "I know you do. I love you, too, you dear, silly boy."

For a moment, Wynn stood frozen, transfixed by her words. Then he lifted the hand he still held and pressed it to his lips.

Lando cleared his throat. "Do I need to get you two a room?"

Wynn stiffened. "Certainly not. Unless Desha would like to spend our Honeymoon here."

"Honeymoon?" Desha gasped. "Wynn, are you… proposing to me?"

"Well," he floundered, suddenly unsure. "It would make sense. I love you and you love me. Would you like to marry me?"

Desha laughed again. "I would love to marry you."

Han rose from his chair, stared at the couple. "I've been all over the Galaxy and I thought I'd seen it all- beings of every size, shape and configuration, Force users controlling worlds with their minds, Death Stars blowing up planets. But this might just be the strangest thing I've ever seen."

Wynn just smiled. "She said she'll marry me."

Pocket climbed out Desha's pocket, chittering her approval.

The door chime sounded and Lando palmed it open. Leia stepped inside.

"I feel like I'm interrupting something." She looked at Wynn and Desha.

"And I'm so glad you did." Han moved to stand beside her. "You wouldn't believe it."

"The new Twins!" Allana clapped her hands. "They're here!"

"Yes. That's what I came to tell you." Leia smiled at her granddaughter. "Thank you for shielding the Twins. You did a wonderful job."

"Thanks, Grandma. Can we see the babies?"

Leia nodded. "Vestara would like to see the other Twins, so we'll bring them in for just a few minutes. She needs her rest."

Vestara pressed the soft bundles to her bosom. In spite of her exhaustion, she couldn't stop smiling. The only thing missing was the presence of her other Twins.

"You did great, Sweetheart." Ben kissed the top of her head. He gently ran a finger over each baby's head. "They're perfect. Just like the other six."

"Eight kids." Vestara's smile briefly turned into a smirk. "Maybe the Sith tabloids are right. Maybe I am crazy."

Ben shook his head. "They're crazy. If they had kids as wonderful as ours, they'd know why we have eight of them."

The door to the small medical room opened and the other Twins tiptoed in, speaking in stage whispers.

"Look, Mark," Carrie said. "They're outside of Mama now."

"They're so little," Mark whispered back.

"Babies!" Natalie giggled softly.

The Twins reached Vestara's bed and started to climb up.

"Woah, there." Ben reached for the nearest Twin as Allana caught the others from behind. "You can't sit on Mama right now. We don't want to make her hurt."

"Babies make Mama hurt?" Hayden asked, wide-eyed.

"Yes, but it's not their fault," Vestara said quickly. "And Mama is very happy to have two new Twins."

"They're beautiful," Allana sighed. "Do they have names yet?"

Vestara shifted so that the baby girl was slightly higher than the baby boy. "This is Ashley." She shifted again, so that babies swapped, the boy up and the girl down. "This is Bradley."

Allana approached the bed and bent over the two bundles. "Hello, Ashley. Hello, Bradley. You are absolutely perfect, you know that?" She looked at Vestara. "I hope I have some like them someday."

Vestara kissed the downy heads. Allana and Ben were right. Her babies were perfect. And she could not be happier. "When you have some of your own, they will be more wonderful than you can possibly imagine."

Chance and Allana sat in the family room of her Love Commander suite, watching the Twins. Ben and Vestara had pleaded with Luke and Mara to be allowed to finish their cruise and the older Skywalkers had finally agreed, with stipulation that they would accompany them and stay in their suite.

"So much for romance," Ben had grumbled.

The Twins were lying on the floor, peacefully watching The Little Bantha Cub. Chance slipped his arm around Allana and she smiled.

"Hey, we did it, Chance. They're all here, safe and sound." She squeezed his hand. "I couldn't have done it without you."

He squeezed her hand in return. "The Twins are blessed to have you for a cousin. You're going to be a great mother someday."

Allana surveyed the Twins. She didn't have any delusions about the difficulties of motherhood, not after this week. But she also had no doubts about the immeasurable wonder and worth of loving and caring for precious children.

Seated at the table in his suite with Pocket sleeping in his lap, Wynn finished the last detail of his children's library plans, aware of the slightly ridiculous smile on his face. He was going to marry the sweetest, smartest, most beautiful woman in the Galaxy. He didn't have the slightest idea how he had managed to win her heart, but win it he had. And now she had agreed to marry him. Of course, he would have to wait three whole months. Desha insisted that she needed that much time to plan the wedding and had laughed when he said he could have a plan by tomorrow morning.

He reached up to touch the bacta patch on his cheek. True to her word, Desha had seen to all his injuries, fussing over him and generally getting in the way of M3-D1, Lando's medical droid. It had been the most heavenly experience of his life.

And the best was yet to come.

"You'll wake us up if they start crying to be fed?" Vestara asked. She and Ben stood beside the futon bed that Lando had sent to their suite for Luke and Mara.

"There's not really anything else we can do," Mara pointed out. "Unless you want to go ahead and start them on bottles."

"You two get some rest." Holding baby Ashley, Luke used the Force to nudge Ben and Vestara gently towards the bedroom as he settled down beside Mara, who was already nestled under the blankets with little Bradley.

In the doorway, Ben paused, resisting his father's Force push. "Thanks, Dad. Thanks, Mom."

"You're welcome. Now go to bed." Luke nudged them again, a little more firmly.

Vestara called over her shoulder, "I'm going to expect that training soon!"

Ben chuckled as they slipped into bed. He kissed her gently. "Maybe we'll wait a little longer this time. Give you plenty of time to get some training in. Or maybe we should even stop for awhile."

Vestara snuggled up to him, returning his kiss with a contented sigh. "Maybe we should. Maybe eight is enough. We'll see. But I know I would rather have my Twins than all the Jedi training in the Universe."

Author's Note: It's a wrap! I finally finished this story and my experiment of writing and posting at the same time. I think I like how it turned out, and I hope you do, too! Wynn and Desha are getting married. Wynn's proposal was so much fun. It kind of wrote itself.

In case anyone was wondering, the Twins are all named after actors who play Skywalker family members, by birth, marriage, adoption of sorts and whatever category we want to put Rey in. The two newest Twins are named after "adopted Skywalkers"- Ashley Eckstein (voice actor for Ahsoka, who's basically Anakin's daughter) and Dee Bradley Baker (as Rex, who is part of the Skywalker family whether he likes it or not.) I went with Bradley instead of Dee because it matches nicely with Ashley. Ben and Vestara are going to have to stop at eight for now, though, because I'm out ideas for names!

Thank you so much for reading! I would love to hear your thoughts on the story. If you enjoyed this story, you might also like the other Love Commander stories. You can find them on my profile page. Thanks again and God bless you!
