Everyone started to beat him, Denahi was on the ground covering his head. Laughs and insults echoing on his ears.

"Stop it! Leave me alone!"

"Awww, the little sissy coward is crying"Bucky

"I'm ashamed you're my brother"Sitka"You're a shame for this family"

"Please stop!"

"Then you must wake up"Kenai

"What?"

"Wake up Denahi"

...

"Denahi"Kenai shook him gently"Denahi wake up"

His brother gasped as he opened his eyes, he was sweating and panting. But relaxed as soon as he realized he was on the plain, back to reality. Where nobody knew about his secret...for now.

"Are you okay?"asked Kenai putting a hand on his brother's shoulder.

"It was just a nightmare"

"And an awful one I presume. You were talking while you were asleep"

"Rise and shine sleepy beauty"said Koda approaching to them"We're close so Sitka wants everybody to be ready"

Kenai helped Denahi to get on his feet, then the three of them joined the rest of the team downstairs.

"Ya despertó la princessa" Chema teased Denahi, but everyone got confused looks since no one except Kenai understood a word.

"He said the princess finnaly woke up"Kenai translated.

"Alright everybody listen up"said Tug approaching to them"We'll land on few minutes so get your stuff ready"

Minutes later they landed in Jalalabad, Afghanistan, this was Chema's first deployment with the team. He was excited to put his habilites in action, the team went to the barracks and showed the rookie his bed. The top of a bunk bed while Kenai would sleep under him. After unpacking his stuff, Chema prepared Phoenix's bed in the corner of the room.

After the guys had unpack their stuff, they were called for a mission: Their target was a hacker from the Taliban forces known for hacking drones and using them against American troops. Their objective was bring him to the base alive for interrogatory, perfect oportunity for Chema to show his skills as a dog handler. Since they were informed that the target used to work underground.

Bravo team was already at the wolf's den. They were outside the tunnels where the target was supposed to be hiding.

"It could be a maze down here"said Denahi"The target could be hiding anywhere"

"Not to mention there could be more hostiles as mines"Kenai remarked.

Sitka knew it was time.

"Rookie, your turn"

Chema nodded, he prepared Phoenix's camera so they could see what was inside the tunnels and which path to take.

"Hey Chema, you know what I heard?"Atka

"What?"

"I heard the enemy likes to steal dogs, they take their bones and send them to the owner"

"If Phoenix can break someone's arm with her teeth I'm not too worried"

Everyone laughed at the answer.

"Is the dog ready?"Sitka

"Yes sir"

"Okay, sent her"

"Phoenix go!"

Phoenix started to run to the darkness of the tunnel, Chema was monitoring her movements through the camera.

"Tell her to stop"Sitka

"Sit"

Phoenix stopped.

"Check the left"

"Phoenix, left''

"Now right"

"Phoenix, right"

The dog's behavior stood the same, the coast was clear, until Phoenix detected something in the air. She followed the sent through a tunnel until she saw the target they were looking for. Phoenix attacked the hacker in the middle of his work, she was biting his arm while the man was screaming of pain. But then the hacker took a pocket knife and tried to stab the dog.

"Blade, Blade!"said Chema at seeing Phoenix in troubles.

"Alright! Move out!"ordered Sitka.

The team was making their way through the darkness of the maze of tunnels, following the screams and growls. Chema was the first one to enter the room, he saw the hacker was about to take a gun, so he shot him right in the palm making the man scream of pain. The rest of Bravo enter the room, Bucky and Koda captured the target while Chema and Kenai were checking on Phoenix since she was covered with blood.

"How is she?"asked Sitka

"Nothing, is not her blood"Chema

"I think is the hacker's blood"Kenai.

The mission was going well for now, Sitka ordered to lead to the extraction point. They were about to exit the cave when Chema remarked on Phoenix behaviour.

"RPG!"

Phoenix pulled back Sitka from his belt as Chema grabbed Denahi by the vest and got over him to protect him from the explosion.

"CONTACT ON THREE!"yelled Koda as he started to cover his brothers. Kenai, Atka and Bucky joined him next.

Sitka turned on his stomach and saw Phoenix in front of him.

"Thank you girl"

Phoenix barked as saying you're welcome, meanwhile Chema was still over Denahi looking at his eyes.

"Are you hurt?"

"N...No, I'm fine"

"Good, get up"

Both men got on their feet and started to shoot the enemy.

"Havoc this is Bravo one, requesting immediate air support for evacuation. How copy?"

"Roger Bravo one, air support coming to your position"

Then two helicopters and two Jets appeared in the sky, the helicopters landed to receive the soldiers while the Jets were eliminating the enemy. The two birds started to fly and then everybody went back to base.

Once in safe land, the soldiers came out of the helicopters and delivered the target to intel for interrogatory. The rest of the day hadn't any major events, so the team could relax from all the emotions of that mission.

"Hey Chema, you're not gonna clean her up?" asked Koda to the new guy

"Nah, don't clean her up"Bucky"Look at her, she seems proud"

"Yes, she is proud"said Chema smiling at his girl.

Later that night the boys were celebrating outside with some beers. There was a fire and the whole team was aroud it and also rock music playing in the radio, then Sitka rased his beer to make a toast.

"For Chema and Phoenix, who not only did a great job today, but also saved my life and Denahi's on their first rodeo"

"It was nothing"

"Nothing? Thanks to you both the team is celebrating, and not mourning"said Sitka placing a hand on his shoulder"For the rookies!"

"For the rookies!"

While the rest of the team was chating, Denahi spoted Chema drinking his beer with Phoenix's head in his leg. When the new guy remarked him, Denahi sent his look to the fire with a soft smile in his face, this make Chema smile and then he started to listen to the conversation.
