(READ WHENEVER YOU WANT TO REFER TO HOW BASTIAN AND HIS TWIN GOT SEPARATED)

Montréal, Québec, Canada

July 17th, 1989

Sitting at the kitchen table, Laura Bux, age 23, is trying to come up with ideas for a children's book she's writing. Also thinking about what the character's names should be…

Suddenly the Motorola starts ringing from the living room. She gets up from the table and goes to answer. Once she found it was a call from Montreal Children's Hospital, she became immediately hooked. The Nurse then tells her the NIPT results were in, saying she is going to have twins. The woman is overjoyed and rushes to tell her husband, Michael. She was already 6 months in, expecting in probably 3 more months or so. Michael got excited as well.

October 21, 10:35 pm

A little over 3 months has passed and Laura and Michael have still been discussing and arguing over baby names and what gender they think they're going to turn out. They are getting ready for bed when suddenly…the moment they've been preparing for has happened. They rush to the car as Michael drives to the hospital as quickly as he can, Laura grunting in pain in the passenger seat. They rush in there as fast as they can. The medical staff takes her in as quickly as possible. Leaving Michael in the waiting room.

6 hours later

The two nurses rush outside the emergency room, one carrying the baby boy, and one carrying the baby girl. A doctor walks to the lobby and informs Michael that his wife is alright, and she just needed to rest. Michael quickly follows the doctor to the ER, as he sees Laura lying down in the Gurney wheel bed. She looked tired, but a tear of joy left her eye, as she knew the pain was all worth it now, she had her children. A wave of relief approached Michaels face, as he walked over to her and held her hand gently, smiling and looking into each other's eyes for a few moment…a moment they would never forget.

A few more hours pass and they remain in the ER as they discuss their plans for their children and thinking about what the future would look like. They were imagining how the two would grow up together, and be there for each other, what personalities they would develop, etc.

1 week later

A week went by, everything was peaceful…except for the few crying tantrums here and there. It's been a little challenging for Laura to care of the two, although she has been preparing for months to be a mother, she's gotten slowly used to it more every day. She took care of them and loved them and Michael more than anything else in the world. Everything was decent all up until one night…

Laura and Michael were in bed when they suddenly hear a bang, one baby subsequently crying right after. They both spring up from the bed running over the other bedroom to see a dark figure in a dark cloak before it evaporated away into dark smoke. Laura looks in the crib only to find one of the two babies inside. The baby girl was gone.
