Home Sweet Slum PT 1

Soon after a few more minutes the Train pulled into the Sector 7 Station and everyone got off.

"Alright you all head to the bar for some rest and relaxation you earned it," Barret said while the others nodded. While Cloud and Naruto remained behind.

"So shall we get going and see what we can find in our quest to try and save the Planet?" Naruto asked while Cloud nodded before they ventured to their destination.

However, they quickly came across an annoyance when they saw someone tearing down a poster.

"Mako is the lifeblood of the Planet. What a bunch of shit," the man that tore down the poster said until he saw two shadows behind him.

"Oh, and what is wrong with believing in something that could very well be true?" Naruto asked while making the man scoff.

"Everyone knows Avalanche is just using that as an excuse to bomb more reactors," the man said before Naruto held him against the wall by his neck. Then his eyes started to glow, shocking the man.

"Tell me something. What do you think will happen to the Planet when it has no more Mako left to give once Shinra sucks it up with those reactors?" Naruto asked while the man stayed silent, not having an answer.

"That's what I thought," Naruto said before he threw the man down and growled before the man ran away in fear.

"Wuss," Naruto said, then looked at Cloud with a raised brow.

"Can you truly hear the Planet?" Cloud asked while Naruto nodded and then closed his eyes and listened to Gaia's cries.

"Gaia is crying begging for them to stop taking her blood. Except they are not able to hear it," Naruto said before placing his hand on Cloud's shoulder and surprisingly he too was able to hear the Planet.

"Wow and here I told Barret to get help," Cloud said, making Naruto chuckle.

"Don't worry once we stop Shinra as well as whatever Sephiroth has planned. We can stop this whole thing," Naruto said, making him nod before they made their way to Seventh Heaven.

~a few minutes later~

Upon making their way to the bar Cloud takes the time to ask the question he has been wanting to ask.

"Naruto, how is it that you came to pass off the sword to Zack anyway?" Cloud asked while Naruto thought back to the day his friend and brother in all but blood completed his final test.

~flashback~

"Ok Zack, are you ready for your final test and complete transfer of the Buster sword?" Naruto asked while Zack gave his teacher a salute.

"Sir I am ready to complete my trial sir what must I do?" Zack asked as if he was ready to do anything to own the famous sword his sensei wields even if he did not use it.

"Very well Zack then if you are truly ready to claim this blade. You must first be willing to take away my life," Naruto said with a straight face stunning Zack to his core.

'He can not be serious, can he? To claim this blade I have to be willing to kill my very own teacher as well as my brother in all but blood,' Zack thought, lost for words before seeing the very sword in his hand. On one hand, he could kill his teacher and claim the sword. But on the other hand, if he did it would mean showing him he only cared about the sword.

'Wait what was it that he taught me when he first accepted me as his student? A ninja must see through deception. What if this isn't the true test?' Zack asked himself in thought either way he was not going to slay his very own teacher for a weapon.

"I refuse," Zack said, shocking Naruto before he continued. "If killing you means I fully gain ownership of this amazing blade that is yours. Even though you never use it I would rather be powerless," Zack finished with a fierce look in his eyes tossing the blade at his feet making Naruto smile.

"Then Zack Fair it is with great honor to inform you that...You pass," Naruto said, smiling happy Zack made the right choice before picking the Buster sword up and giving it to him shocking him further, and giving him a small tearful smile.

"Me taking your life wasn't the test was it? You wanted to see if I would choose life over power didn't you?" Zack asked, making Naruto nod.

"I did and you passed showing that you don't care about power," Naruto said, making him smile even more but confusing him.

"You see I have seen people who forsake who they once were for power and revenge that they don't care what they have to do to claim it," Naruto said thinking of Sasuke and wondering what happened to him after Kaguya sent them through her portal.

"I shall not fail you Naruto-sensei," Zack said, getting on one knee and bowing to his teacher.

"Raise your head, Zack, we are no longer Student or Teacher but comrades in arms," Naruto said while Zack looked at him, rose to his feet, and clasped Naruto's arm with his hand which he returned.

~flashback end~

"So that is how Zack claimed this sword," Cloud said before he looked at his blade before he took the sword off his back and handed it to Naruto who shook his head.

"No, you keep it. Zack gave it to you before he died. It was designed to be passed down which is why I did not use it. I found the blade. It wasn't passed to me so I could not bring out its true power," Naruto said with a smile.

"I have another question if I may?" Cloud asked his friend while Naruto nodded.

"How are you so close to the Planet anyway?" Cloud asked while Naruto thought back to when he first arrived before he found himself at Shinra.

~flashback~

"Wake up young one," a voice said before Naruto awoke and noticed he was in a void with green streams all around him.

"Hello? Is someone there?" Naruto asked before the voice spoke again.

"You are the one that shall deliver this Planet from darkness and Disaster and save me from death," the voice said confusing Naruto.

"Kurama? Is that you? Naruto asked, thinking he was hearing his voice before he heard the voice giggle confusing him because the voice sounded female.

"I am not the fox but maybe this will put you at ease," the voice said before the green energy came together to form the body of a beautiful woman with tan skin, dark hair with lighter streaks, and light-colored eyes. She wears a long, purple dress, purple shoes, a thin, golden headband, and two long, light-colored decorative pieces of material, one of which is wrapped around her left upper arm and the other is tied together with a hem of her dress on her right shoulder.

'Wow she is beautiful,' Naruto thought while the woman giggled more hearing his thoughts.

"You are not too bad looking yourself Naruto Uzumaki," the woman said with a soft smile.

"How do you know my name?" Naruto asked, feeling relaxed from the pure feeling the woman was giving off.

"Well first my name is Gaia and I am the spirit of the Planet itself. The reason I know of your name is because my young warrior I have chosen you to be my Champion," Gaia said with a smile.

"Champion?" Naruto asked, making her nod.

"Yes you see I am slowly dying an evil Company has been taking my lifeblood and converting it into Mako through 8 reactors," Gaia said explaining it to him while he sat and crossed his legs listening while Gaia did the same.

~one explanation later~

"So this Company Shinra is sucking up your blood through reactors and looking for something called The Promised Land which only an ancient race known as the Cetra could find. Where they believe there is a Huge reserve of your energy and are looking to harvest it for themselves?" Naruto asked and wanted to make sure he didn't miss anything, making her nod.

"Yes, naturally I have defenses known as WEAPONS to protect me. I can't awaken them since it would take a great amount of energy to do so," Gaia said, making him frown now, understanding why she needed a Champion.

"There is a last living Cetra left though. Sadly in time, there will be a great evil that will bring about the dark side of fate and with it the young woman's death," Gaia said while Naruto paid attention.

"Do you know what this evil is so we can prevent it?" Naruto asked causing Gaia to shake her head.

"Sadly the wheels have already been set into motion though the evil does not exist yet it will soon and it will be a SOLDIER," Gaia said.

~flashback end~

"Wow," Cloud said, unable to say anything more than that, making Naruto nod before they each had a vision before looking up and saw the plate burning and coming down before it ended.

"That isn't good," Cloud and Naruto said at the same time before making their way to Seventh Heaven and hopefully prevent what they just saw if it was true.

~Seventh Heaven~

Soon Cloud and Naruto arrived at Seventh Heaven. Then Cloud walked in getting a gasp from Tifa before Naruto walked in making her widen her eyes seeing him before smiling gently.

"Cloud good to see you again. It's been a long time," Tifa said with a smile but frowned seeing him stare at her.

"Don't worry Tifa, Cloud hasn't forgotten you. His memory just needs a bit of a jog. Give it time I am sure he will come around," Naruto said with a smile reassuringly at her getting one in return.

However, on the inside Naruto wasn't so sure of his words but wanted to give Tifa hope that he was still the childhood friend she knew.

'How much did the Jenova Cells take from you Cloud? For that matter, if they rewrote so you hardly remember Tifa then how is it you still remember me?' Naruto thought and wondered if Zack's death was more damaging than he thought. He would have to ask Gaia about this later. Maybe she had the answer.

"Naruto, can we talk?" Tifa asked, causing Naruto to look at her and see a nervous smile on her face.

"Sure Tifa lead the way," Naruto said before he saw a shadow and then saw a little girl who looked no older than 4. She has fair skin, brown hair, and brown eyes. This is Marlene Wallace, Barret's daughter

"Well hello there cutie and what is your name?" Naruto asked as he walked to her and then got on his knees to her level before she squeaked and ran behind Tifa who let out a little giggle.

Then Naruto decided to put on an act he knew worked for the children at the Sector 5 slums orphanage to put them at ease and make them less shy.

"Oh my, a shy child has forsaken me. Oh, what a cruel world I am forced to live in. Naruto said before lying in a fetal position. He then heard giggling before looking and seeing the little girl.

"There you go, little one. See there is no need to be shy around me," Naruto said before once again crouching to her level and holding out his hand before closing his 3 fingers and thumb.

"My name is Naruto Uzumaki. What is yours?" Naruto said smiling while the girl took his finger with her small hand and shook it.

"My name is Marlene Wallace," Marlene said with a smile, getting a goofy grin in return.

"Oh and here is a little gift from me to you little Hime," Naruto said with a smile before taking the flower Aerith gave him and putting it in Marlene's ear making her smile before seeing her daddy and running to him.

"You seem to enjoy entertaining kids huh?" Tifa asked, walking up beside him and watching Marlene with a smile while Naruto shrugged with a soft smile.

"Growing up as I did. I guess I have a certain charm for making the little ones happy for they are our future as my teacher once told me," Naruto said, recovering fragments of his past while Tifa looked at him with a frown.

"Can we have that talk now?" Tifa asked while Naruto nodded before she let him out the back where he leaned up against the wall.

"Look, I honestly want to apologize for what I said to you. It was very heartless and incredibly insensitive of me to have said that about you," Tifa said feeling truly remorseful for the words she said to him all those years ago.

~flashback~

"Why?" a fifteen-year-old Tifa asked before turning to Naruto with fury in her eyes holding the place Sephiroth cut her "WHY DID SEPHIROTH BURN DOWN MY HOME? WAS IT SHINRA'S PLAN ALL ALONG? WAS THE REACTOR JUST A DECOY!" Tifa shouted in despair while Naruto stayed quiet not knowing how to respond.

"Shinra, Sephiroth, SOLDIER I hate all of you including you," Tifa said, shocking him before he tried to calm her down but she just pulled back and smacked him in the face.

"DON'T TOUCH ME YOU HEARTLESS MONSTER JUST GO DO WHAT YOU NEED TO DO AND GET OUT!" Tifa shouted in anger making him look at her with his head down and hair covering his eyes as a slight tear left his eye and he said three words that would make Tifa regret what she just said and did to him.

"As you wish," Naruto said, finding Sephiroth's blade not too far from him so he stood up before picking it up and ran into the reactor missing Tifa's gasp when she realized what she just said and done and even more who she said it and did it to.

'Why is it that I feel this terrible pain in my chest that has nothing to do with the wound I was given?' Tifa thought before looking at the reactor before she fainted from the pain, missing her teacher rushing to her aid.

'It feels as if I just lost my best friend,' Tifa thought before sleep claimed her.

~flashback end~

"Ever since then those painful words and the pain I felt afterward after I struck you is all I could think about," Tifa said before she walked up to him. Then leaned into him in a hug that surprised him but he hugged her back and started stroking her hair.

"I truly am sorry Naruto. I truly didn't mean anything I said back then and I am even more sorry that I hit you when Sephiroth did that of his own free will, not yours,' Tifa said in sadness and understood if he never wanted to see her again.

"Tifa look at me," Naruto said gently as Tifa complied before she widened her eyes when he kissed her forehead making her blush a bit before he pulled back.

"You may have been right about me more than you know," Naruto said, making Tifa widen her eyes and was about to tell him how wrong he was before he spoke again.

"After that incident, my two friends vanished and for 4 years I had no idea what had happened until a few years later," Naruto said thinking about the day Tseng told him of Zack's last stand.

~flashback~

"This is," Naruto tried to say looking at the report before he continued "No I don't believe it. This is false. Shinra wrote this to try and make me weak so Hojo could put me back under his control," Naruto said on his knees looking over the report Tseng said he wrote while Reno and Rude looked at their friend.

However, Elena was the one most hurt. She knew how much Zack meant to Naruto and to see her crush in pain angered her.

"I am sorry Naruto but the report is true. I was the one that wrote it," Tseng said, just as hurt as he was. After all, he and Zack might not have been close like he and Naruto but they were still friends.

"I'll kill them," Naruto said in a dark voice that worried those in the room before they saw the hatred behind his cyan eyes.

"I'll make them regret the day they ever crossed me," Naruto said with a dark look in his eyes while Tseng looked at him and then grew a smirk.

"Then allow us to provide your escape route," Tseng said before looking at the others who were all too eager to help even Elena much to Tseng's amusement at her not-so-secret crush. Oh sure she had Reno and Rude confused but not him.

~flashback end~

"So after the incident, Zack went missing before you were informed of Zack's death," Tifa said while Naruto nodded.

"After that, I honestly became a Shinra hunter killing Shinra every chance I got not caring if they were innocent or not," Naruto said with a frown.

"But you are not like that anymore proving I was still wrong about you," Tifa said with a smile making him chuckle.

"That is honestly because of Aerith and her tears not being able to stand seeing me on the path of darkness," Naruto said before he saw Tifa's teasing grin.

"Oh so if I was to cry for you I could get you to stop hunting Shinra altogether," Tifa said before Naruto gave her a playful glare.

"Don't even think about it," Naruto said, making her giggle.

"By the way don't take Cloud's blank stare as not remembering you," Naruto said seeing Tifa's confusion, and explained. "You see Cloud was abducted after the incident along with Zack and were introduced to the Jenova project. However, Zack resisted the process. As for Cloud well he sadly succumbed to Mako poisoning," Naruto said, worrying Tifa.

"After witnessing Zack's death as I am sure he did. The Cells in him must have helped him, making him think he was in Zack's place.

"Can that truly happen?" Tifa asked, making Naruto shrug not knowing himself since he, like Zack, resisted as well.

"Unknown but if you hear him say anything that you don't remember just go along with it. I am trying to figure out a way to piece the real Cloud back together but I need time," Naruto said while Tifa nodded.

"Excellent in the meantime why don't I show you to a room," Tifa said with a smile while Naruto chuckled and nodded and followed Tifa.

~road~

As Tifa was showing Naruto where he would be staying he was able to hear the voices from the people in Sector 7 wondering who he was, where he was from, how cool he was, and how handsome he was, but what made him nervous was looking at the young women there he was able to see their blushes on their cheeks.

"Oh great it's the Naruto Fan Girl Club all over again," Naruto said with a nervous smile while Tifa chuckled.

"I take it you had Girl troubles?" Tifa asked while giggling when she saw Naruto shudder.

"All of us famous people did Genesis, Angeal, Sephiroth, Zack, and me though I was hit the hardest probably because of my looks," Naruto said, making Tifa curious and a bit nervous before Naruto beat her to it.

"For Zack, Genesis, Angeal, and Sephiroth their fan clubs were simply newspapers and whatnot. However I wasn't so lucky," Naruto said before getting as close to Tifa as he could without fusing with her letting her know how serious this was.

"What was it about?" Tifa asked but soon wished she hadn't.

"It was a club dedicated to see who would be the first to bear my child," Naruto said in a small voice making Tifa's eyes widen so much you would think they would pop out of their sockets.

"Their Leader was even more crazy," Naruto said while Tifa dreaded the question she was about to ask.

"Who was it?" Tifa asked before she stopped, turned around to look at him, and saw his eyes shrink.

"Shinra's Director of Advanced Weaponry Scarlet.

"I'm afraid to ask but what did she do?" Tifa asked.

"Well first and ONLY time she caught me I woke up strapped to her bed naked and she came in wearing a dominatrix outfit complete with a whip and flogger," Naruto said while Tifa looked at him with her eyes wide again and her mouth wide open in pure shock.

"Please tell me you got away," Tifa said while Naruto nodded.

"I activated a remote tracker the Turks gave me before they, Sephiroth, Zack, and Cloud kicked down her door just in time before Scarlet started her work," Naruto said remembering how furious Scarlet was that day while Tifa smiled.

"Well I am glad you had people watch out for you," Tifa said before turning around and continuing while unknowingly holding Naruto's hand.

~Stargazer Heights~

Soon Naruto and Tifa make it to the apartment where Tifa says that his room is room 202 right next to hers. While Naruto nods his head though teases Tifa who asks if his room is next to hers so she can be closer to him making her blush and shove him lightly making him chuckle before he sees two other rooms.

"Who are the other two rooms?" Naruto asks only to see rooms 203 and 204.

"203 is Cloud's room and 204 belongs to a sick man named Marko," Tifa said with a frown while Naruto nodded before bidding Tifa good night and entering his room.

Well, there you have it the start of the next chapter I was going to post a short Lime between Naruto and Elena but I'll do it next chapter.

Now I would like to inform you all that while Naruto may be a SOLDIER he is NOT immune to fan girls and after what Scarlet tried he is going to be a bit fearful when it comes to them. Unless it is Tifa and those listed in the Harem.

For those of you who may be confused about Gaia's human form, I based her off of Gaia from Captain Planet and the Planeteers if you guys have ever seen the show before.

Will I add her though I am not sure I mean she is basically the lifestream so I leave that to you though if you want her I can find some way to make it possible.
