"Well… If we're gonna die here… there's something I need to get off of my chest."

Chazz, Bastion, Hassleberry, and Syrus have since given up trying to escape the room they're in as water continues to keep rising. How they've gotten into this situation to begin with involved the academy in one way or another.

Now gaining the attention of the other three, Chazz took a moment to clear his throat before speaking again.

"I did not care for the 100 Girlfriends Who Really Love You."

"WHAT!?" The other three guys shouted in unison. Shocked that Chazz of all people would dislike what they had been obsessing over since they found out about the manga for the first time.

Hassleberry was the first to speak up. "How could you even SAY THAT!?"

"I didn't… I didn't care for it!" Chazz shook his head.

Syrus then spoke up. "It's the PERFECT harem comedy manga!"

"Look, I know everybody SAYS that, but…"

Bastion then interrupts Chazz. "Well, I think that's a little bit of an exaggeration, but it is a really good story, Chazz. It has so many wonderful characters like Eiai Nano, Torotoro Kishika, Hifumi Suu…"

"And the main character shouldn't be looked over either!" Interjected Syrus. "He's doing all he could for his growing roster of girlfriends!"

Chazz looks at Syrus. "Look, I get that! I do! I just don't like the story that much!"

"Well why don't you like the story that much!?" Questioned Hassleberry.

"Because the story is BORING!"

"What do you mean 'boring?'" Questioned an increasingly angry Syrus.

"Nothing really happens in the plot!" Chazz explains himself. "Yeah all the characters are shown doing things but none of it really engages me as a reader! There are no real stakes. No central conflict either."

"The Rentaro Family is a relationship unlike anything anybody's ever seen!" Bastion argues back. "The girls will literally DIE if they're not in a romantic relationship with him!"

"Well excuse me if I think that adults trying to have a romantic relationship with a bunch of teenagers deserve to die!"

"I can't believe what I'm hearing right now!" Said Hassleberry. "Chazz, it's a COMEDY! You're taking this WAY too seriously!"

"And another thing!" Chazz continues. "The story isn't even all that funny! I never laughed once! It just feels like a slowed down repackaging of comedy anime that I've seen before! And all the fanservice doesn't help at all either!

It's just… It's gotten so dull I started skipping chapters in a desperate attempt to see anything interesting. I was disappointed!"

"Wait, you've SKIPPED chapters!?" Syrus is now more shocked than angry right now.

Now it's Bastion's turn to speak. "Well Chazz, it's not really fair to judge the story if you haven't read the whole thing."

"Look, I've tried MANY times to find the time to read over the chapters I've skipped over but I just CAN'T! That chapter where the main character realizes that his first cousin, WHO IS TWELVE YEARS OLD, I may add, has romantic feelings for him, I couldn't… I couldn't get invested into something like that. It was just so unnecessary for the story to go in that direction."

Hassleberry was quick to argue. "Well MAYBE if you haven't skipped chapters, you'd understand why the story went in the direction that it did!"

Chazz continues. "Just when I thought the story couldn't get any more unnerving, the main character gets into a romantic relationship with his TEACHER! She's one of the worst characters I've ever seen!"

"YOU DIDN'T LIKE NADESHIKO!?" Bastion yells with his mouth hanging wide open.

"I get that it's supposed to be funny and I'm sure that's what the author intended." Chazz rolls his eyes. "But it just doesn't work for me. Every time I look at her I just feel sad… then I remind myself that she's 24! Somebody should tell her that teachers get locked up for flirting with their students in America!"

"Hey, it's really not that big of a deal, Chazz." Said Hassleberry. "You have to admit the adults were better off after they got into the Rentaro family, right?"

"Adults being in the Rentaro Family is a flimsy excuse for poor storytelling!" Argues Chazz.

"It's an interesting concept!" Shouted Syrus. "The characters don't act normal because it'll be pretty dull if they all acted realistic! Readers get drawn in because of them!"

Chazz raises an eyebrow. "Hey, like whatever you want. I honestly don't give a damn. I'm just trying to give you a different point of view."

Now it's Syrus' turn to roll his eyes. "Different point of view… More like an unpopular opinion. Next, you're going to tell us Sword Art Online wasn't that bad, aren't you?"

"It's a perfectly fine story!" Chazz shouts back.

"You wanna talk about bad storytelling; that is the PEAK of bad storytelling!"

"You just hate it because it's different!" "NO! I hate it because I have a brain!"

Hassleberry looks down. "Uh, guys? Is it just me or did the water stop rising?"

Ignoring Hassleberry, Bastion spoke up. "I mean, Syrus has a point. It does seem like a double standard if you're going to keep criticizing 100 girlfriends yet you keep praising Sword Art Online."

Chazz narrows his eyes at Bastion. "I love the Date A Live light novels… That's my response to your statement."

After a brief period of silence, Syrus lets out a sigh. "Of course."

Bastion rolls his eyes. "Whatever."

Hassleberry nodded his head. "I love Date A Live too."

That's it. That's the story. I hope you all enjoyed it.
