This is not a chapter, this is an update. I will not be writing for about a week because I will be off with my adult daughters at Calgary Stampede doing cowboy and father related things.
There is at least one more chapter left in this school year. There are a few chapters planned for summer stuff, because events are eventing kind of hard in the cannon timeline. Our own timeline will be farther ahead on the main plot, even as we approach cannon events for the Triwizard more or less on schedule.
This next arc will be darker. Dumbledore and Fudge will not come off nicely. Understand, I am a soldier, the son and grand son of soldiers. We have born arms in pretty unhappy places and done some reasonably terrible things because old men with all the respect and power in their society chose to send children to kill and die for their aims.
Dumbledore in cannon used child soldiers. He sat in his office and planned to sacrifice children for his aims. Sure he felt TERRIBLE about it, popped a sherbet lemon and moved onto his next agenda item.
Got to say, as a soldier, my tolerance for wise old men sending children out to die is really low. Not going to lie, I always wanted to put a round through Dumbledore. He was never the good guy.
