(A/N: I just finished watching Act 1 of Arcane Season 2 and while I liked it I have some thoughts, thoughts that I had to type out. I hope you enjoy!)
Done Being Your Puppy
An Arcane FanFiction
Rated: M for Pervasive Language and Blood
Summary: Vi lets Caitlyn have a piece of her mind when she comes to one of her pit fights looking to guilt her into re-joining the Enforcers.
Pairing(s): Caitlyn x Vi
Zaun
After another hard-fought victory in the pits Violet headed back to her room/training room while wiping her face with a towel to get rid of her black makeup as well as the blood on her face, both her opponent's and hers. She winced as the towel fibers touched a fresh cut on her cheek, just below her "Vi" tattoo which was currently obscured by the black makeup she smeared on her face before every match.
It had been about 3 Months since she returned to Zaun, 3 Months since her time as an Enforcer came to an abrupt end after Caitlyn Kiramman the woman she loved or at least thought she did brought the butt of her rifle into her ribs before leaving her behind. It was bad enough that Caitlyn hit her but did she really have to hit her in the same fucking place that Sevika stabbed her? The hit to the ribs wasn't even the worst part, no the worst part was Caitlyn's classist remarks about Zaun and how Vi was the same as the others something Vi had hoped she had broken Caitlyn out of by showing just how shittily the people of Zaun lived.
No even that wasn't the worst part the actual worst part was the fact that not even an hour before Caitlyn did all that she swore to Vi that she would not change, even sealing her promise with a kiss. Vi absentmindedly touched her lips as she recalled the feeling and how elated she was at that moment while also being nervous, nearly hyperventilating as Caitlyn's lips hovered over hers. It was something Vi had never felt before...not that she had never been kissed before that was far from the truth, but no one had ever been that sweet to her...
Vi shook her head of these thoughts as she walked over to the punching bag in her room, starting to pelt it with lefts and rights while letting out some angry grunts with every punch. Vi usually showered after a match but the thoughts of Caitlyn filled her with a rage that she needed to vent otherwise it would wreck the rest of her day, which any thoughts of Caitlyn usually did. As Vi pummeled the bag which had various stitches as Vi had split it open multiple times, her intrusive thoughts couldn't help but visualize to her Caitlyn being on the receiving end of her punches which stopped her dead.
As Vi leaned against the punching bag panting heavily and trying to shake the idea that she would ever raise her fists to Caitlyn even after everything she had done from her brain, she heard footsteps approach her from behind. Her brows furrowed in anger as she recognized the pattern of her steps, as well as the sound of heeled boots clicking against the pavement...what the fuck was SHE doing here and how did she find her?
"Hello Vi." The familiar sultry accent of Caitlyn Kiramman pierced Vi's ear as the Commander of Piltover's enforcers spoke, standing roughly 3 feet behind Vi. The bluenette was wearing a cloak, similar to the one Vi had her wear to conceal her identity when Vi showed her around Zaun. It was a precautionary measure of course, not a sedimental one as she wasn't exactly a well-liked individual in Zaun and for good reason.
"Hello Cup...Commander Kiramman. What pleasure do I owe this visit?" Vi asked sarcastically as she went back to pummeling the punching bag, hoping her not calling Caitlyn "Cupcake" hurt Caitlyn as much as it hurt Vi to not say it.
"I need you to come with me." Caitlyn said, unable to help feel a tug at her heartstrings by Vi referring to her as Commander Kiramman and not "Cupcake".
"Oh yeah? And why should I?" Vi asked, almost growling as she wondered where Caitlyn got the audacity to ask her to come with her after what happened last time they saw each other.
"While we haven't talked in 3 Months you are still an enforcer under my command." Caitlyn said, unable to help but swallow a bit nervously at the venom she heard in Vi's voice.
"Funny...I could've sworn you hitting me in the ribs with your rifle was your way of saying I was fired." Vi said getting increasingly agitated, punching the bag even harder. "By the way you hit me right in the wound Sevika gave me, opened me back up."
"I'm sorry that wasn't my intent-" Caitlyn started to say.
"NO! You don't get to fucking say you're sorry!" Vi said, turning around to face Caitlyn her eyes full of pent-up rage. "Did you think that after 3 Months you could just waltz up to me and act like everything could go back to normal between us?!" Vi demanded, pointing her finger directly in Caitlyn's face.
"Vi I-" Caitlyn again tried to speak, feeling fear from being around Vi something she had never felt before.
"SHUT THE FUCK UP!" Vi shouted she then started pacing back and forth while laughing, almost maniacally while actually trying not to burst into tears. "You know what the sad part is? I thought you were different than those other classist, holier-than-thou piece of shit snobs back in Piltover, but I should've known better. You're all the fucking same, it's in your blood." Vi spat, throwing similar words to what Caitlyn said when they parted ways back in her face.
For the first time in her life Caitlyn was truly at a loss for what to say, every time she opened her mouth nothing came out as she watched Vi completely dress her down.
"Got nothing to say? Is the great Caitlyn Kiramman at a loss for words?" Vi asked, asking the later part in a mockery of Caitlyn's accent.
Caitlyn said nothing in her defense.
"Y'know...you truly had me fooled. I thought you cared about the people of Zaun, I thought you had come to love them...I thought you loved ME." Vi said, sniffing as the adrenaline started to wear off and her rage was overcome with crippling sadness.
"I...did..." Caitlyn tried to get out, barely speaking above a whisper.
"DON'T FUCKING LIE TO ME!" Vi screamed, tears now starting to pour down her cheeks mixing with her black makeup creating twin black rivers that ran down her face.
"I...am not lying...but you lied to me..." Caitlyn said, starting to gain a bit of her confidence back.
"Oh yeah how so?" Vi demanded, rage starting to boil up within her once again.
"You told me you were going to put an end to her...but when I had a shot you stopped me." Caitlyn said, taking deep breaths to calm herself.
"This bullshit again?" Vi asked incredulously. "Isha was in the way, had you taken the shot you could've hit him."
"No I wouldn't have." Caitlyn said. "You know how good of a shot I am."
"In a normal circumstance yes but you weren't in the right frame of mind! I wasn't about to let you do something you'll regret and take an innocent life for vengeance." Vi said.
"Are you sure you're talking about Isha and not Jin..." Caitlyn's point was interrupted when Vi punched a nearby wall, cracking the concrete...as well as Vi's knuckles which immediately started to bleed through her hand wraps.
"Don't ever say her fucking name again..." Vi said in a low growl, glaring at Caitlyn.
Caitlyn had never been this close to pissing herself in fear before but had Vi hit her instead of that wall there most certainly would've been nothing left of her face.
"Go." Vi said, pulling her hand away and rubbing her bleeding knuckles.
"Vi-" Caitlyn meekly tried to protest.
"I SAID GO!" Vi screamed at the top of her lungs, to the point her voice even cracked.
Finding the strength in her legs, Caitlyn said nothing more as she turned around and left giving Vi one last glance before disappearing from sight.
As Vi watched Caitlyn vanish once again from her life, possibly for the last time this time she collapsed to her knees as she started crying in earnest with no one around to comfort her.
