The nineteenth of June, 2010 one of my earliest memories of being in Cousins. I was three, Conrad was five, Steven was four and Belly was two. Conrad, Steven, and I were running around the beach just like the young care-free toddlers we were and Belly was asleep on my moms stomach. Even though I was so little I feel like I can remember it clear as day. We ran and ran around on that beach for hours acting like we owned it. Around 5:00, Laurel quietly called us in, whispering because Belly and now my mom were asleep. We ran up to the house and flung open the sliding doors. Laurel got the box of red, white, and blue popsicles out of the freezer and handed one to each of us boys. We sat on the law chairs by the pool and ate our frozen treats. Steven and I both ended up with red popsicle juice dripped all over us while Conrad looked like he had never even touched a popsicle. Laurel called Steven and I in for a bath and Conrad changed then watched a movie on the living room couch. As the bath water heated up, both Steven and I hopped in together. Laurel bathed us which felt normal because she felt so much like a second mom. After the bath was finished, we got our pajamas on and joined Conrad on the couch for a movie. I will never forget that amazing day, back when all of us boys got along. I wish I could go back to that.
