Season 1: Sodor to Equestria
Ep. 1: Equestria Meets the Sodor Engines
It was summer around Canterlot, Principal Celestia has let all her students off school to enjoy their vacation, whether it be flying to another country, going to a theme park, beach, visiting family and all sorts of activities they want to do. But the Rainbooms, were chilling at the steps leading to the entrance of the school. Despite knowing of what they want to do for the summer, they don't know how to celebrate it.
Rainbow Dash: "Man, I'm bored, I mean, all of us love enjoying the summer and all, but we feel like we're missing something, just to spice things up.", replied Rainbow Dash who is performing tricks with her soccer ball.
Rarity: "I agree with you darling, there's something missing in our lifestyle that's not grasping our attention.", remarked Rarity as she's painting Applejack's nails.
Applejack: "Hmm, well, we had ourselves a crazy week in the past, partners. I mean, Thomas and his friends coming here to Canterlot High, stopping Discord and Diesel 10 from taking the Gold Dust and using it to destroy our friends, not to mention dealing with Adagio and the Dazzlings, along with a diesel invasion happening on Sodor, but we beat them as a team y'all.", replied Applejack.
Fluttershy: "Most definitely Applejack, those diesels, especially Diesel 10, are frightening.", whimpered Fluttershy as she cradled Angel in her arms, like a teddy bear.
Pinkie Pie zoomed in next to her with a cupcake in her hand.
Pinkie Pie: "But Fluttershy, we succeeded, now we can celebrate our summer with a grand party!". she exclaimed as she tossed the cupcake in her mouth.
Twilight Sparkle: "Not so fast Pinkie, we don't know what we wanna do for our grand summer vacation, guess it would be our typical boring summer.", questioned Twilight Sparkle as she types on her laptop, updating her projects she's completed after school.
Sunset Shimmer: "I may have a suggestion.", replied Sunset Shimmer, as she was playing a mobile game on her phone.
Twilight Sparkle: "What do you suggest?", replied Twilight, as she puts down her laptop.
Sunset puts her phone in her pocket.
Sunset Shimmer: "Why not send a letter to Sir Topham Hatt and let him know if we could borrow all his engines for our summer vacation.", replied Sunset.
The girls look at each other for a moment until Twilight broke the silence.
Twilight Sparkle: "You mean?", remarked Twilight before Rainbow interjected.
Rainbow Dash: "Are you suggesting we have every single engine, from the Island of Sodor, come over to Canterlot, so that they, along with us, can enjoy our vacation?", answered Rainbow who stopped her tricks as she caught the ball with her hands.
Sunset Shimmer: "Umm, yeah?", replied Sunset nervously.
Rainbow Dash: "That...is...awesome!", exclaimed Rainbow as she jumped in the air.
Applejack: "Well then, let's get this here vacation started.", replied Applejack as Rarity had finished her nails.
Twilight Sparkle: "Hang on, let me write a letter to Sir Topham Hatt, he might wanna know this too. Besides, if they're at a job they're working on, we can't have them abandon their duty.", interjected Twilight as she brings out her notebook and a pen.
Rarity: "She does have a point darling.", replied Rarity as she puts her nail polish away.
Sunset Shimmer: "Alright, we'll make note of that in this letter, write away Twilight.", replied Sunset.
As she's writing the letter to Sir Topham Hatt, Sunset is thinking of something else that was on her mind that she doesn't want to address it to the girls. Ever since Thomas came to Canterlot High for the first time, she's secretly formed a crush with him, which she showed when she kissed Thomas' cheek before he and his friends returned to Sodor. It was the best moment of her life. Though she doesn't want to say it, but her friends noticed her daydreaming a few times, but she tries to deny having a relationship with him, saying they're just best friends. After a while, Twilight has finished the letter.
Twilight Sparkle: "How does it look?", replied Twilight as she showed Sunset the letter.
The letter said: "Dear Sir Topham Hatt, this is Twilight Sparkle from Canterlot High. We sort of thought of a crazy idea that I don't know if you agree with it. But right now, we're bored out of our minds trying to figure out what we want to do for our vacation. So, we were wondering if we can borrow your engines from Sodor and have them be part of our vacation. If you don't agree with our invitation, I totally understand, work is more important than taking vacations, if you feel me. But if you do agree, we're on board and we'll make sure all your engines are safe and accounted for, you can be sure of that. So, I'll have Sunset deliver this letter to my counterpart by the time I finished this letter, and she'll deliver it straight to you, probably from her assistant Spike. Good day to you sir, sincerely Twilight Sparkle."
Sunset Shimmer: "So far, it's the best letter you ever wrote to a different dimension, I'll make sure Princess Twilight gets this to Sodor.", replied Sunset as she grabbed the letter, rolled it up and placed it in her bag.
Applejack: "Good luck partner.", replied Applejack as she tipped her hat to Sunset.
Sunset waved the girls' goodbye, gets up, walks toward the statue and through the portal.
Sunset steps out of the portal, which is the Crystal Mirror inside Twilight's castle. She had entered the library trying to find Princess Twilight.
Sunset Shimmer: "Twilight, you in here?", called Sunset as she was searching for Twilight.
Princess Twilight: "Sunset, over here!", called Princess Twilight.
Sunset walked over to see Twilight using her magic to levitate some dictionaries onto the empty slots of her bookshelf. Once she's finished, she turned to see Sunset, walks over to her and hugs her, which Sunset did the same.
Princess Twilight: "So, what brings you to my castle Sunset? A rundown of what's going on at Canterlot, any new sightings of Equestrian magic, a bunch of friendship problems? Okay maybe not the last one, but you get the idea?". replied Twilight almost bombarding her with questions.
Sunset Shimmer: "(Chuckles) No, nothing of the sort. But I do have a favor to ask you.", replied Sunset.
Princess Twilight: "Okay, you peaked my interest, lay it on me Sunset.", replied Twilight as she is now intrigued.
Sunset Shimmer: "My friends and I are starting to get bored, during the start of our summer vacation. So, we thought of an idea of writing a letter to our old friend, Sir Topham Hatt. We all asked if we can borrow all his engines from Sodor, to come join our vacation.", answered Sunset telling Twilight of their grand plan.
Princess Twilight: "But, if all his engines are coming to Canterlot, then his railway will be barren.", replied Twilight arching her brow, concerned about her plan.
Sunset Shimmer: "Well, not completely barren, he might bring other engines from different countries, railways or even the mainland to help aid him in keeping the railway stable.", replied Sunset with a solution to the problem.
Princess Twilight: "I guess you have a point Sunset. So, where's that letter you were telling me about.", pondered Twilight agreeing with Sunset's solution.
Sunset Shimmer: "Right here in my little bag.", remarked Sunset as she used her magic to open her bag and lifted the rolled up letter out of it.
She brought it over to Twilight, which she took it with her magic as well. She opens the matter, analyzes it and turns to Sunset.
Princess Twilight: "Seems like a nice letter, I'll make sure I deliver it to Sir Topham Hatt. Although, I do have a word of warning.", replied Twilight.
Sunset Shimmer: "What sort of warning?", worried Sunset.
Princess Twilight: "Since the Magic Railroad intertwines between Equestria & Canterlot with the magical tracks it leads here. Once the engines go through the Magic Buffers, they either go straight to Canterlot or appear here, from the Crystal Mirror. But it's not a big deal, and the process will still resume when they go to Canterlot.", answered Twilight despite the long explanation.
Sunset Shimmer: "Huh, that's weird.", pondered Sunset as she rubbed her chin with her hoof.
Princess Twilight: "Well, like I said, it might be a possibility, just hasn't been tested yet. Anyways, let's get this letter sent, ready Spike?", replied Twilight as she looked at Spike, who was dusting the shelf.
Spike (Dragon): "Ready.", replied Spike as he ran towards her.
He blew fire on the letter as it slowly disintegrates, about to be teleported to Sodor, as the three watch the letter disintegrate, a familiar face appears.
Starlight Glimmer: "Uhh Twilight, what's going on here?", questioned Starlight.
Princess Twilight: "Oh, hi Starlight, guess who came back.", said Twilight as she points her hoof to Sunset.
Starlight Glimmer: "Oh, hi Sunset, it's been awhile.", replied Starlight as she hugs Sunset.
Sunset Shimmer: "Hey Starlight, it sure has been. Has Twilight been showing you some new stuff while I was at Canterlot.", commented Sunset.
Starlight Glimmer: "Well, other than helping Twilight become a better Princess of Friendship, learning better ways of how I use my magic and assisting the School of Friendship from time to time.", answered Starlight as she listed the things she's been doing.
Sunset Shimmer: "That's quite a list for her to do Twilight.", remarked Sunset.
Princess Twilight: "Well, had to keep Starlight busy, while at thee same time, having her join us on some fun adventures.", replied Twilight.
Starlight Glimmer: "Too true Twilight, umm, I don't want to be rude, but I sorta overheard your little conversation about a whole bunch of visitors coming here.", replied Starlight inquisitively.
Sunset Shimmer: "Oh well, I sorta thought of this crazy idea back at Canterlot High, about bringing in all of Sir Topham Hatt's engines over to Canterlot for a grand vacation that we're having.", answered Sunset.
Spike (Dragon): "Sir Topham who now?", replied Spike confusingly.
Starlight Glimmer: "And what engines?", said Starlight unsure of what's going on.
Sunset Shimmer: "Well, long story short Starlight, there's a third dimension that resides in the magical realm. Just beyond that portal, leads not only Canterlot, but a dimension/bridge way to a different dimension called the Magic Railroad. The tracks that connect in this lead to both Equestria & Canterlot, but they also lead to the third dimension, an island called Sodor. Inside the island, is a large railway which consists of sentient vehicles by air, sea & land that can talk. But me and my friends back in Canterlot, we're thinking of talking to the controller of the railway, Sir Topham Hatt, via a letter. And that very letter said if it's okay to bring his engines to Canterlot to join our grand vacation. Got that so far Starlight?", answered Sunset.
Starlight Glimmer: "So, what you're telling me is that there's another magical dimension connected to ours. And that dimension consists of a large island with a very large railway filled with sentient vehicles from air, land & sea, that can talk. And you want to invite these vehicles to join your vacation? Though, how would they move when they get there?", questioned Starlight rubbing her chin.
Spike (Dragon): "Probably the same way how Sunset and the other humans move around, once they exited the portal, they manifest a human form to move. Maybe that's a possibility.", pondered Spike.
Princess Twilight: "Spike may have a point.", said Twilight agreeing with Spike.
Starlight Glimmer: "Ooh, that sounds like fun, can I join in?", said Starlight joyously.
Princess Twilight: "Sunset, you sure you want to bring Starlight?", asked Twilight.
Sunset Shimmer: "Trust me Twi, I've taken her through the portal before, and she seems to like it.", replied Sunset assuring Twilight.
Princess Twilight: "Okay, I trust you Sunset.", remarked Twilight.
Starlight Glimmer: "Umm, does this mean I get to go?", questioned Starlight arching her brow.
Princess Twilight: "One more thing, we need to talk to Princess Celestia about this, you don't mind if you three come along?", replied Twilight.
Spike (Dragon): "Of course I always go with you Twi.", said Spike excitingly.
Starlight Glimmer: "I don't mind, Sunset?", asked Starlight to Sunset.
Sunset Shimmer: "I'm down.", replied Sunset.
Princess Twilight: "Well then, let's get going to Canterlot Castle.", replied Twilight.
The small group head towards the train station awaiting the next train. Once the train arrives, they got in one of the coaches, as the train steams off to Canterlot. After a while, they arrived at Canterlot as they head to Canterlot Castle. As they walked in the castle, inside were Princess Celestia & Luna, the rulers of Equestria. They looked to see the group approach the two.
Princess Celestia: "Hello you four, it's a pleasure seeing you guys again.", called Celestia greeting the quartet.
Princess Twilight: "The honor is all mine, your majesty.", remarked Twilight greeting the princess.
Sunset Shimmer: "Hello Celestia, long time no see.", replied Sunset.
Princess Celestia: "How are you doing Sunset?", asked Celestia.
Sunset Shimmer: "I'm doing great Celestia, though the reason we came to you two is because we have a request and we may need your help.", replied Sunset to the Princess of the Sun.
Princess Celestia: "Of course Sunset, what is it that you need?", asked Celestia to Sunset.
Sunset Shimmer: "Well, in Canterlot, your human counterpart gave us a vacation, our friends are bored and we don't know what to do. So, I thought of this idea, if it's okay with Sir Topham Hatt to send all his engines to Canterlot, so that they can also join our vacation. And if they somehow came through Twilight's mirror, you can control the crowd and have them get to Canterlot safely. Do you think you can do that, your highnesses?", asked Sunset.
Princess Luna: "This does seem risky, but if that's what you want Sunset, then we're up for it.", replied Princess Luna.
Princess Celestia: "We'll be honored to help you girls, take us to your castle.", replied Celestia.
Starlight Glimmer: "Umm, if it's okay with you Princess Celestia, can I come along with Sunset to take part in her vacation?", asked Starlight to the princess.
Princess Twilight: "I can assure you Celestia, that Starlight has come a long way from "rough beginnings", I trust her with my heart.", assured Twilight.
Starlight Glimmer: "Aww, Twilight, that means so much to me, thank you.", cried Starlight hearing Twilight show how much she cares for her.
Princess Twilight: "You're welcome Starlight.", replied Twilight.
Princess Celestia: "Well, I see no problem for Starlight to join your little, or should I say, big vacation.", replied Celestia agreeing with their plan.
Sunset Shimmer: "Thank you your majesty. Well girls, let's get started.", said Sunset.
The girls giggled as they raced off back to the Castle of Friendship, leaving the princesses smiling over their excitement.
Princess Luna: "They surely are a playful bunch if I do say so myself.", asked Luna to Celestia.
Princess Celestia: "Indeed sister, indeed.", remarked Celestia as the princesses followed the girls.
Meanwhile, on the Island of Sodor, all of Sir Topham Hatt's engines are busy doing their favorite jobs around the island: Thomas pulling Annie & Clarabel, Percy taking the mail, Henry pulling the Flying Kipper and Gordon pulling the Express. Almost every engine from the boats, ships, planes & helicopters, cars & trucks, steam engines, diesel engines, Narrow Gauge & Arlesdale engines are making sure they keep the time tables, deliveries and schedules in check.
BG Music: Thomas & Friends: Busy
It was nighttime at Knapford Station, Sir Topham Hatt is signing a bunch of papers some of his staff sent him, until he hears sparkling and a purple glow in one of his drawers. Once it subsides, he opens it and sees a letter.
Sir Topham Hatt: "What's this, a letter from Equestria. Hmm, interesting, let's see what it says.", replied the Fat Controller himself, Sir Topham Hatt.
As he opened the letter, he begins reading it and at first, was surprised and intrigued as well. Once the workload dies down, he walks to his car and raced off to Tidmouth Sheds to tell the other engines. At the sheds, all the other engines were resting after a hard day's work, Henry was the last one to arrive after delivering the remaining fish in the Flying Kipper.
Gordon: "(Sniffs) Ugh, Henry, what will make you wash that wretched scent off of you!", grumbled Gordon, the LNER Class A1 Pacific.
His job was to take the Express from Knapford, Vicarstown and Barrow. But on rare occasions, he occasionally pulls freight trains as well.
Henry: "I'm sorry Gordon, but if I'm taking the kipper, I'll have the smell of fish on me, I can't help myself if I smell bad.", replied Henry, the LMS Stanier Class 5 "Black Five".
His job is to take the heavy goods trains for different parts of the island as well as take coaches as well. But his favorite job is pulling the Flying Kipper, a specialized long fish train.
Edward: "Henry is right Gordon; he can't help it if he was tasked to pull the kipper. If he smells like he had fish on him, he can't help himself.", murmured Edward, the FR 21/K2 Class.
His job is to take both freight and passenger trains in different parts of the island.
Gordon: "Ugh, of course you would say that Edward.", grumbled Gordon.
James: "Well I don't appreciate it either, ugh, you smell disgusting Henry. Why don't you live at the harbor why don't you!", glared James, L&YR Class 28.
His job is the same as Edward, but he sometimes prefers passengers over freight.
Percy: "James, you know better than that. Henry is a part of this team, besides, Arthur is in charge of the harbor!", glared Percy, the Avonside 0-4-0ST.
His job is the same as the mixed tender engines, but his favorite job is pulling the mail train at night.
Thomas: "Percy does have a point James, not only that, he's our heavy goods engine of this team, next to Rebecca. Both of them are the backbone of the team, carrying the heavy goods.", remarked Thomas, the LB&SCR E2 Class.
His job is very much the same as the other three, but his main job is to take passengers, on his own branchline.
Edward: "You're not wrong about that Thomas.", replied Edward.
Thomas: "Besides, don't you pull goods trains too Gordon?", remarked Thomas to Gordon slyly.
Gordon: "I'll have you know that I was forced to pull goods trains thanks to Sir Topham Hatt. When I would rather pull the grand express. That's what an express engine would really pull, rather than dirty goods trains!", grumbled Gordon.
Rebecca: "Well, I don't see the problem with that Gordon, us tender engines can do a bit of both, pulling passengers and freight trains. It's a combo we all can do.", replied Rebecca, the SR West Country/Battle of Britain Class.
Much like the rest of the engines, she takes heavy goods as well as passengers.
Henry: "Thank you Rebecca.", commented Henry.
Emily: "You boys just can't seem to leave poor Henry alone, don't you Gordon & James.", remarked Emily, the GNR 1003 Stirling Engine.
She does the same passenger and freight jobs as the others, but she has her own coaches which is different from Thomas's who carry Annie & Clarabel.
James: "What?! (Stammers) What are you talking about Emily?! We're not trying to bother him!", protested James almost sounded offended by what Emily said.
Gordon: "How can you accuse us in such a manner Emily? We're merely making an observation, since we've been smelling him ever since he comes back with the kipper. That's just it, a mere observation!", exclaimed Gordon.
Toby: "Honestly, can you two at least try not to antagonize Henry so much, please, it's getting extremely tiresome.", grumbled Toby, the GER Class C53/LNER J70.
While he can't pull the more extravagant passenger trains like the Express, he does carry small passenger trains with his faithful coach, Henrietta. He often does freight work almost the majority of the time.
Gordon: "Ugh, fine Toby, we apologize for saying that you smell Henry, right James?", murmured Gordon to James.
James: "(Sighs) Right Gordon, we're sorry.", sighed James.
Henry: "I appreciate the apology you two, thank you.", smiled Henry.
Thomas: "Finally, now that that is settled, anyone care to share what they've been doing during today.", suggested Thomas.
Edward: "Well, I had to take the local train from Maithwaite to Maron, I missed the old days when I carried passengers.", sighed Edward remembering his days when he was at his prime.
James: "Ha, that's funny, maybe because you're getting...", exclaimed James and before he can finish his sentence.
Thomas: "James?", glared Thomas.
James: "(Gulps) S-Shutting up.", replied James quietly.
Emily: "Anyways, I had to take a flower train to Kellsthrope.", replied Emily.
Thomas: "Are they having a flower show over there?", said Thomas inquisitively.
Emily: "Not exactly, they just need new flowers to replace their old ones.", answered Emily.
Thomas: "Oh, I see, what did you do Percy?", asked Thomas.
Percy: "I had to take some quarry cars to Ffarquhar Quarry to be filled with stone.", replied Percy cheerfully.
Toby: "Mavis needing new stone for her stone trains.", asked Toby.
Percy: "Yep, there was a shipment of stone that need to be delivered, so I had to bring in new stone trucks to the quarry.", answered Percy.
Rebecca: "That's amazing Percy, what did you do Nia?", replied Rebecca.
Nia: "I had to take a supply train from the docks to the Steamworks, Victor needs new machinery.", answered Nia, the KUR ED1/EAR 11 Class.
Originally, she was from Africa, but after Thomas found her and she told him that she doesn't have a proper home, Thomas offered her a home here on Sodor. Now, she does almost every job she can do.
James: "Victor needed replacement parts for his machines?", asked James.
Nia: "Yeah, they were getting worn down, and close to breaking. So I was tasked to collecting new parts to replace the old ones.", replied Nia.
Thomas: "Neat, I'm sure some of you can already tell what I've been doing.", called Thomas seeing if his friends can guess what he did, even if it's obvious.
Percy: "Working on your branchline as per usual?", answered Percy slyly.
Thomas: "(Gasps dramatically) Oh Percy, how could you possibly know?", gasped Thomas dramatically.
Edward: "(Chuckles) It's kinda obvious when we know what you've been working on Thomas.", replied Edward.
Thomas: "I guess you have a point Edward.", said Thomas.
Toby: "I had to take some coal trucks from the coaling plant to the docks, they need a delivery of coal to ship to the mainland.", replied Toby.
Emily: "Did you bring Henrietta with you?", asked Emily.
Toby: "Yeah, although she doesn't like being covered in coal dust, but she can't say no to not be with me. Besides, if she were to be dirty, she'll get a wash.", answered Toby.
Henry: "That's commitment Toby, and I'm sure Henrietta will be very proud of you.", complimented Henry to Toby.
James: "Pff, please, I'll have you all know that I've had a splendid job, and that's..." retorted James and again before he can finish his sentence Gordon interjected.
Gordon: "Pulling a train of fuel tankers to the fuel depot.", interrupted Gordon.
James: "Why yes, wha hey!", shouted James.
Gordon: "James, I saw you grumble while pulling the tankers when I was pulling the Express.", grumbled Gordon.
James: "Ugh, honestly, Sir Topham Hatt really needs to give me more passenger jobs rather than goods work.", mumbled James grumpily.
Henry: "I'm pretty sure you Gordon have been pulling the "Grand Express" for today, haven't you?", interjected Henry.
Gordon: "Why yes, yes I have dear Henry.", replied Gordon nonchalantly.
Henry: "Why am I not surprised.", mumbled Henry.
Rebecca: "I had to take a heavy goods train to Vicarstown that needs to be delivered to the mainland, I had to drop it off for Peter to take to the mainland.", said Rebecca cheerfully.
Edward: "Peter, how is our big boy Rebecca?", exclaimed Edward.
Rebecca: "He's doing well, but he plans on coming back to help his friends at the LMS, I'm sure Reginald misses him.", answered Rebecca.
Edward: "(Laughs) Oh that Peter, such a friendly chap. I can't wait to see him the next time I visit the LMS.", replied Edward happily.
Then, they see Sir Topham Hatt approach the sheds. He got out of his car and approached his engines.
Sir Topham Hatt: "Good evening, engines.", greeted Sir Topham Hatt.
Everyone: "Good evening sir!", replied the engines.
Sir Topham Hatt: "Now, normally, I would congratulate you all on your splendid work efforts on your jobs. First off, I am proud of you all. Second, this is probably going to sound strange, but I somehow got a letter from Canterlot written by Twilight Sparkle.", announced Sir Topham Hatt.
Thomas: "Twilight Sparkle, princess or human counterpart?", asked Thomas.
Sir Topham Hatt: "I believe the human counterpart?", pondered Sir Topham Hatt.
Henry: "What does the letter say sir?", replied Henry.
Sir Topham Hatt: "The letter said that their summer vacation is missing something to make it special, and that something is all my engines on Sodor.", replied Sir Topham Hatt recalling what the letter said.
Toby: "That's very peculiar?", pondered Toby.
Percy: "What do you say sir?", asked Percy.
Sir Topham Hatt: "Hmm, well, I have been thinking this over, and I notice all my engines have been working extra hard. So, I think all my engines deserve a year vacation to Canterlot. Of course, I will find other engines to help find in all your duties while you're on vacation, along with some old friends.", replied Sir Topham Hatt.
The engines cheered, knowing they'll meet their old friends, the Rainbooms, after so long, but Nia & Rebecca were a little confused.
Nia: "Uhh, what's Canterlot?", asked Nia.
Percy: "Nia, you and Rebecca are going to love it, follow us.", suggested Percy.
One by one, they left the sheds with Nia & Rebecca following behind, but Sir Topham Hatt stopped Thomas because he wants to tell him something.
Sir Topham Hatt: "Oh Thomas, before you go, I have something to tell you.", called Sir Topham Hatt to Thomas.
Thomas: "Yes sir?", replied Thomas.
Sir Topham Hatt: "Since you, along with the other engines are heading to Canterlot to join the Rainboom's vacation. I want you to make sure you keep every engine going into Canterlot safe.", mentioned Sir Topham Hatt.
Thomas: "Don't worry sir, I'm make sure they're safe, you can be sure of that.", replied Thomas.
Sir Topham Hatt: "Thank you Thomas, also while you're going to the buffers, I'll make sure the others carry the smaller engines and road vehicles as well. Now, hurry and catch up with your friends.", called Sir Topham Hatt.
Thomas: "I'll see you later sir.", remarked Thomas.
Thomas whistled and raced off to join his friends at the Magic Buffers. As he was traveling down the line, his mind were flooded with the times he spent with the girls, teaching him how their world works, showing him their magical abilities, showing Thomas's friends friends around Canterlot, finding Lady and restoring her magic and having to stop Discord and Diesel 10 from destroying all magic. But one girl has stood out amongst the rest, the very person that helped him adapt to Canterlot, that person is Sunset Shimmer. She was the one who stood by his side, and helped him over any obstacle he has, she was a special friend to him, thinking about her made him blush. Thomas continued pressing on to catch up to his friends. Once he caught up, Edward was at the front of the Magic Buffers, followed by Henry, Percy, Toby, Rebecca, Gordon, James, Emily & Nia.
Thomas: "You guys ready?", called Thomas to his friends from behind.
Edward: "We're ready Thomas.", called Edward from the front.
James: "As long as this vacation doesn't dirty my coat.", mumbled James from behind Gordon.
Gordon: "Would you care less about your coat and focus on the vacation James!", grumbled Gordon from behind Rebecca.
Toby: "Come on you guys, knock it off will ya!", groaned Toby from behind Percy.
Nia: "Uhh, is this safe you guys?". worried Nia from behind Emily.
Percy: "Don't worry Nia, you'll experience a little change, but nothing that'll have you freaking out. Besides, you have us to be by your side.", assured Percy from behind Henry.
Emily: "Think of yourself as getting a little makeover, but in a good way.", replied Emily from behind James.
Henry: "If it's alright with Emily, then it's alright with us.", remarked Henry from behind Edward.
Rebecca: "We're ready Thomas.", called Rebecca from behind Toby.
Thomas: "Well then, lead the way Edward.", called Thomas.
So Edward led the caravan of engines through the Magic Buffers, with Thomas right behind them. Through the buffers, they will begin their miraculous transformation. In the Castle of Friendship, Celestia, Starlight, Luna, Twilight, Spike and Sunset were waiting for them until the mirror started crackling. Twilight looked at the portal, and then, the engines flew straight toward Twilight and crashed right on top of her. The others winced seeing Twilight crushed under all the engines, who are now ponies. With the help of the others, they managed to help the engines up on their hooves.
- Thomas's alicorn form is colored light blue with light gray hooves, his wings are light blue with a yellow trim at the edge, his mane and tail are long and colored black, while his mane reached his shoulders, his horn is light blue and his cutie mark is his #1.
- Edward's unicorn form has the same colors for his hooves and fur like Thomas, his mane & tail are dark brown, while his mane reaches the base of his neck, his horn is also light blue like Thomas and his cutie mark is his #2.
- Henry's earth pony form is colored light green with yellow hooves, his mane & tail are the same color & length as Thomas and his cutie mark is his #3.
- Gordon's Pegasus form has the same color fur as Thomas & Edward, but his hooves are black, his wings are the same color as Thomas without the yellow edge, his mane & tail are the same as Thomas & Henry, but his mane is styled in a sleek fashion giving his taste for speed and his cutie mark is his #4.
- James's Pegasus form is colored red, with the same hooves as Edward, his mane & tail are the same as Thomas, Henry & Gordon, but his mane is styled in a pre-Mohawk style, his wings are red and his cutie mark is his #5.
- Percy's earth pony form has the same fur color as Henry, his mane & tail are the same as Thomas, but smaller, and he's shorter than the rest of them, his hooves are yellow like Henry and his cutie mark is his #6.
- Toby's earth pony form is colored brown, his hooves are tan, his mane & tail are silver and shorter and his cutie mark is his #7.
- Emily's unicorn form is colored dark green, her hooves are dark bronze, her mane & tail are dark gold and longer than the boys, with some of her mane covering one of her eyes, her horn is dark green, her eyes contain emerald eyeshadow and her cutie mark is her #12.
- Nia's unicorn form is colored orange, her hooves are light orange, her mane & tail are black, but her mane is braided, her horn is orange and her cutie mark is her #18.
- Rebecca's Pegasus form is colored yellow, her hooves are sky blue, her mane and tail are the same color as her hooves, but with a red streak for added flare, her wings are yellow and her cutie mark is her #22.
Everyone was surprised seeing their new pony forms, but Sunset recognized some of them, especially one in particular.
Sunset Shimmer: "Thomas!", exclaimed Sunset, she leaped towards Thomas and hugged him, he looked to see Sunset in her pony form.
Thomas: "Sunset, is that you?", asked Thomas.
Sunset Shimmer: "Yes Thomas, it's me, I missed you so much.", cried Sunset.
Thomas: "I missed you too Sunset.", smiled Thomas.
Sunset nuzzled as Thomas returned the hug, knowing they're back together after being away for so long. Sunset let go of the hug and sees Thomas in his full glory. He's a smidge taller while standing next to her, his mane is flowing in the breeze due to the windows open in Twilight's castle and when he spreads his wings, everyone was in shock. Starlight, Twilight, Spike, Sunset and the princesses were in awe as they mesmerized Thomas's wingspan.
Thomas: "What, why are you all staring at me?", replied Thomas confusingly.
Princess Twilight: "Uhh, look at yourself, your wings are massive!", exclaimed Twilight pointing at Thomas's wings.
He looked in the mirror and was surprised by his new wings, they're majestic but they also make him feel powerful.
Thomas: "Whoa, I feel like I'm royalty.", replied Thomas surprisingly.
Princess Twilight: "Not just that Thomas, your wings even rival Celestia's!", exclaimed Twilight.
Celestia observed his wings as she aligned hers with his, she was amazed to see his wings are a smidge bigger than hers.
Thomas: "Uh, is that a bad thing?", worried Thomas.
Princess Celestia: "Not exactly Thomas, you have to prove yourself if you're gonna be royalty just like us. But when me and my sister step down, either you, Twilight or the both of you will be the next future rulers.", replied Celestia to Thomas.
Princess Twilight: "Umm, I don't know about that, but it could be a possibility.", pondered Twilight.
Emily: "Uhh your highness, Thomas isn't the only one with wings.", remarked Emily.
Princess Twilight and the others looked to see James, Gordon & Rebecca flexing their wings, but Gordon's a bit bigger.
Rebecca: "Gordon, look at you!", exclaimed Rebecca.
Gordon: "Oh my, Rebecca look at your wings!", exclaimed Gordon.
Sunset Shimmer: "Hey you guys, aren't you forgetting someone?", reminded Sunset.
Everyone: "Sunset!", shouted the other engines.
Sunset Shimmer: "(Chuckles) Yes, it's me you guys.", replied Sunset to the other engines.
Percy: "Well, this is a surprise.", remarked Percy.
Nia and Rebecca don't have the slightest clue of what's going on.
Nia & Rebecca: "Uhh, what's going on?", replied the two girls.
Thomas: "Oh, I'm sorry, Nia & Rebecca, meet Sunset Shimmer.", replied Thomas introducing Sunset to the girls.
Sunset Shimmer: "It's certainly nice to meet you two.", greeted Sunset.
Rebecca: "It's nice to meet you too Sunset.", replied Rebecca.
Thomas: "As for how I met Sunset, I traveled from Sodor to Canterlot via the Magic Buffers, who helped me out when I was on a mission. After a while, the rest of my friends came to rescue me, and aid me during my mission. You two weren't around when it happened.", recalled Thomas to the girls remembering the events that happened to him when he was in Canterlot.
Nia: "Really, I never knew that.", remarked Nia surprisingly.
Princess Twilight: "Yeah, it's kinda of a long story. But where you're going Nia, you'll enjoy every second of it, oh, my apologies, my name is Princess Twilight of Equestria, and these are my friends, Starlight Glimmer, my assistant Spike and Princess Celestia & Luna, the rulers of Equestria. Cadence would be here, but she's sick and has to stay behind at the Crystal Empire.", replied Twilight.
Thomas: "Thank you for the introductions Twilight, and I definitely remember you Spike, only the dog counterpart of you.", remarked Thomas to Spike.
Spike (Dragon): "Ehh, no big deal man, at least I trust you enough to be our friend.", replied Spike.
Thomas: "And I remember you two, well, your human counterparts when you helped me adapt to Canterlot High, but seeing that you both are the rulers of Equestria, I am honored to be by your presence.", replied Thomas.
Princess Luna: "The honor is all ours Sir Thomas.", remarked Luna.
Princess Celestia: "The same goes for me as well, in fact, all of your friends are more than welcome to visit here in Equestria, as well as Canterlot, your almost second & third homes.", replied Celestia to Thomas.
Thomas: "I be honored by that privilege Celestia.", said Thomas being honored by Celestia's suggestion.
Starlight Glimmer: "So, let me get this straight Sunset, you know these guys minus Nia & Rebecca?", called Starlight to Sunset.
Sunset Shimmer: "Yes, I do Starlight, and let me tell you, they're incredibly fun.", replied Sunset.
Starlight Glimmer: "Really, I like to see that for myself.", cooed Starlight.
Sunset Shimmer: "So, are you guys ready to start our vacation?", called Sunset to the engines.
Everyone: "Yeah!", shouted the engines.
Sunset Shimmer: "Don't worry you two, you'll like Canterlot, trust me.", assured Sunset to Nia.
Nia: "We'll trust you Sunset.", replied Nia.
Before they leave for Canterlot, Princess Twilight approached Thomas to engage in a little conversation.
Thomas: "So, you're the next ruler of Equestria, from what Celestia said?", remarked Thomas.
Princess Twilight: "Yeah, that is correct. And almost all alicorns are destined for royalty. But you, considering you're the leader of your team and Celestia sees potential in you, you might rule right next to me.", suggested Twilight.
Thomas: "Royalty sounds like a really big job, and I don't think I want to leave Sodor for this.", worried Thomas.
Princess Twilight: "Hey, I too was shocked that Celestia put me in the royalty spotlight, and I thought I'm never gonna see my friends once I ascend the throne. I can still see my friends once every moon, and the same goes for you, you can visit the throne once every moon, and I don't mind myself ruling the kingdom by myself without you, and, if what Celestia says it's true, you and I could be future rulers of Equestria.", replied Twilight kindly.
Thomas: "I suppose, from Sodor, everyone calls me the Leader of Sodor, so I guess that's what Celestia sees in me.", murmured Thomas.
Princess Twilight: "Maybe so, I hope we see each other again the next time we meet.", smiled Twilight.
Princess Celestia: "I too am honored to have met you Thomas, both me and my sister were glad knowing we have another protector in our lands.", replied Celestia sweetly.
Then, Thomas remembers some he hasn't seen during their journey to Equestria.
Thomas: "Hey, during our travel here, we haven't seen Lady, where is she?", replied Thomas.
Lady: "Closer than you think, old friend.", replied someone very familiar to Thomas.
A magical gold light illuminated from the hallway and emerged, showing a red-violet alicorn with gold hooves wearing dark gold boots, a gold chestplate with red-violet accents, a crown on her head with red-violet accents, red-violet wings as big as Luna's, her mane and tail are gold with a red-violet streak running down for flare, her eyes have goldish-yellow eyeshadow, her horn is red-violet and her cutie mark is Gold Dust. Lady has arrived in the Castle of Friendship.
Lady: "Hello Thomas.", replied Lady.
Thomas: "Lady!", exclaimed Thomas.
Sunset Shimmer: "Whoa, you look beautiful as an alicorn Lady.", remarked Sunset looking over Lady's pony form.
Lady: "Why thank you Sunset, it has been a while.", replied Lady looking at Sunset.
Sunset Shimmer: "It has, hasn't it, still protecting the Magic Railroad.", commented Sunset.
Lady: "More or less, but Celestia gave me a telepathic message telling me that all of Sodor's engines are joining Sunset's vacation idea. I just, can't let this opportunity pass up. Especially since I can catch up with an old friend of mine that saved me so long ago.", commented Lady telling Sunset how she got here.
Sunset Shimmer: "Wait Twilight, you said something about Cadence taking a sick day, who will fill in for her, Shining can't possibly take care of Flurry and rule an empire all by himself.", exclaimed Sunset concerned about the safety of the Crystal Empire.
Lady: "That's where I come in.", interjected Lady.
Princess Twilight: "Yep, Lady is going to be filling in for Cadence while she's resting. She'll rule the Crystal Empire and assist the princesses in the process. I just knew she's the right one for the job. While she does have a duty to watch over the Magic Railroad, she doesn't fail to impress.", remarked Twilight.
Lady: "(Chuckles) Thank you Twilight, and since Cadence is Twilight's foal sitter, she gave me the job of temporary foal sitter, I've been keeping her busy telling about all that is grand about Sodor and the way the realms have a special magic binding them, along with teaching her about my power.", replied Lady.
Thomas: "Gold dust, isn't it.", answered Thomas.
Lady: "(Chuckles) Always spot on, aren't you Thomas.", cooed Lady looking at Thomas.
Thomas: "(Blushes) Well, after all, I did save you from the clutches of Diesel 10, did I, so, it's my way of saying thank you for letting me rescue you from your amnesia so to speak.", interjected Thomas.
Lady: "I guess you have a point Thomas. And for rescuing me from Diesel 10, twice, allow me to give you some of my power.", replied Lady.
Everyone: "WHAT?!", shouted the engines.
Thomas: "You serious? You want me to inherit your power.", replied Thomas, he was shocked by this decision.
Lady: "Of course, after everything you've done to help me, you've shown me the purity in your heart, the courage, the determination, you've shown me that you are worthy of your power. Now watch, as the power transfer commences!", called Lady.
She activated her horn as her eyes glowed gold. Everyone watched as she conjures up a golden ball of energy containing inside, some of her Gold Dust. She then used her magic to levitate the golden ball towards Thomas. Once it touches Thomas, it begins absorbing into him. He then glows gold as the others blocked the light from hitting their eyes. The Gold Dust begins acclimating into Thomas's body with some added addons, gold armor boots appeared over his hooves, a golden chestplate appeared on his chest with blue lining and showing his #1 in the center. His mane and tail grew longer with a blue streak going down the end, and finally, a crown appeared on his head giving him the appearance of a future ruler.
Everyone: "Whoa!", awed the princesses, Starlight, Sunset, Spike and the Steam Team seeing Thomas's transformation.
The light dimmed down as Thomas looks at his royal armor.
Thomas: "What the, what happened to me?", replied Thomas surprisingly.
Lady: "The transfer is complete, you now have my gold dust abilities, and it seems that the magic has given you the royalty treatment. At least this will give you the idea of what you might look like when you do rule Equestria with Twilight.", called Lady explaining what had happened.
Thomas: "This is some upgrade.", commented Thomas.
The armor magically disappears as he returns to normal, as Princess Celestia approaches.
Princess Celestia: "When the time comes Thomas, when if you want to temporarily rule Equestria by Twilight's side, just ask. But in the meantime, enjoy your vacation.", replied Celestia to Thomas.
Thomas: "Seems reasonable, and when you put it that way Celestia, it could sorta work.", acknowledged Thomas.
Lady: "Before I forget, I'll occasionally visit Canterlot to see how you guys are doing, while maintaining any other visitors coming here to Equestria.", interjected Lady.
Thomas: "Sounds perfect, alright everyone, let's get going, you ready Sunset.", replied Thomas to Sunset.
Sunset Shimmer: "Ready Thomas, how about you Starlight?", replied Sunset to Starlight.
Starlight Glimmer: "Ready Sunset.", replied Starlight proudly.
Twilight activates the portal to Canterlot High, one by one, each of them enters the portal, ready to go to Canterlot. Back at Canterlot High, the rest of the Rainbooms were waiting for the others to come back. Then, they hear the portal coming to life, waiting in anticipation for them. Sunset and Starlight were the first to arrive, followed by Thomas, Edward, Henry, Gordon, James, Percy, Toby, Emily, Nia & Rebecca, with the latter two experiencing their new human bodies.
- Nia has light orange skin, her hair is short and colored dark brown styled ina bun, gold hoop earrings are attached on her ears, her eyes have dark orange eyeshadow, she wears an African dress with orange, yellow, green, red, black & purple highlights and light brown sneakers on her feet.
- Rebecca has light yellow skin, her hair is long and flowing but ends at her back and colored yellow with a red streak going down, she wears a yellow dress with a belt around her waist with the initials GWR, the bottom of her dress has an orange and red stripe, followed by white bundles underneath, orangish-red socks and yellow heels.
Thomas: "Nia, Rebecca, welcome to Canterlot High.", called Thomas to the two girls.
The two looked at the big school and were amazed at seeing it, as they gaze all over the town, seeing the beauty of it.
Nia: "So, this is where you girls live?", asked Nia.
Sunset Shimmer: "Yep, this is our home. Nia & Rebecca, meet the rest of our friends, we call ourselves the Rainbooms: Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Twilight Sparkle, Applejack & Rarity.", replied Sunset as she introduced Nia & Rebecca to the girls.
Twilight Sparkle: "Hi there.", greeted Twilight.
Applejack: "Howdy.", hollered Applejack.
Rainbow Dash: "S'up!", called Rainbow.
Rarity: "Bonjour.", replied Rarity.
Pinkie Pie: "Hi!", exclaimed Pinkie cheerfully.
Fluttershy: "Hello.", replied Fluttershy quietly.
Nia & Rebecca: "Hello.", the girls greeted the Rainbooms.
Thomas: "I have a feeling you two will probably like Canterlot.", asked Thomas.
Rebecca: "I think so, and this is going to be fun.", replied Rebecca happily.
What Rebecca doesn't know that this is vacation, is the beginning of the monumental adventure by both the Rainbooms and the Steam Team, filled with fun, adventure, action and some romance as well. What will their adventures entail, well, that'll be telling, tune in for Episode 2.
