On the dirty cold ground was where Tanya lay. She looked up at the sky tiredly. Everything, she was just tired of it all and wanted it to end. There was no point in continuing on. She had done her best and it wasn't enough. Continuing on was only foolish. A grey holographic screen appeared in front of Tanya.

-

Would you like to live another life?

Yes/No

-

Tanya didn't feel like thinking. So she only did as her body wanted. It wanted to live so she pressed yes. Everything blacked out and she lost sensation of everything. When she could feel again, she was in a meadow among flowers. The screen appeared again.

-

Task: Find a village.

Reward: 20 shillings.

-

Many questions went through Tanya's head with no answers. She could only come up with theories. Since her theories couldn't be answered, she would leave it be.

Getting up, she took a direction and walked. From the climate around her, she seemed to be in Europe. Perhaps, she was to be dragged into war again. If that were to happen, she would give up again.

After a while of walking, she came upon a small village that seemed to be from medieval times. The task on the screen was completed and she felt 20 shillings appeared somewhere at the back of her mind. She reached out her hand and they appeared like magic. She wasn't too surprised since she had lived with magic.

Thinking about her magic, Tanya tried to feel it. It was still there, which was good. Strolling into the village, she spotted many peasants around. They looked at her strangely as they went about their business. Tanya's clothes were still her military clothes so she understood their gaze. Going into a tavern, Tanya spoke to its keeper.

"I'd like some food."

"4 shillings for a loaf of bread and 1 shilling for water."

Tanya handed 5 shillings to the Tavern Keeper. The Tavern Keeper handed Tanya a loaf of bread and a cup of water. He watched as Tanya started to eat. She seemed like a strange young woman. Although he was curious about her, he decided to keep to himself. The screen appeared in front of Tanya.

-

Task: Find an occupation.

Reward: 20 shillings.

-

Tanya fell into thought. She didn't want to fight anymore. Perhaps, she should be a huntress in this life. With that thought, 20 shillings were deposited behind her mind. The screen changed.

-

Task: Hunt an animal.

Reward: 20 shillings.

-

Tanya looked at the Tavern Keeper.

"Say, do you know anywhere I could buy a bow and some arrows?"

"There's a shack down the road where George who's a hunter lives. He'll sell you a bow and some arrows if you have shillings."

Tanya nodded and tossed a shilling to the Tavern Keeper. She finished the rest of her meal. Leaving the tavern, she headed down the street and arrived at a shack. A man saw her coming and looked at her with suspicion.

"Are you George?"

"I am."

"I would like to buy a bow and 20 arrows."

"That'd be around 30 shillings."

Tanya handed over 30 shillings and the man nodded. He went inside his shack and brought out a bow with a quiver of 20 arrows. Tanya took the items and headed into the forest. She didn't have to worry about getting lost, the sun always rose from the East.

Strolling through the forest, Tanya heard the music of birds. It was very relaxing to her. A peace of mind from the war torn memory. A water source like a river was what she wanted to find. Places where animals liked to be.

Hearing the sound of rushing water, she soon came upon a river. Tanya wondered if a fish was an animal. Only one way to find out. She notched an arrow and aimed into the river. She fired and the arrow impaled a salmon. 20 shillings appeared at the back of her mind which amounted to 24 shillings. It seemed a fish was an animal.

Dragging the salmon out of the water, Tanya wondered if there were bears. There most likely was, she would have to be careful not to encounter one. She did not want to fight one even with magic.

-

Task: Cook a prey.

Reward: 20 shillings.

-

Looking at the dead salmon, Tanya wondered how she should start a fire. Remembering something, she reached into her shirt and took out a lighter. As she made a campfire, she wondered if the screen that appeared in front of her knew only how to give 20 shillings.

Tanya cooked the salmon and recieved 20 shillings. She ate the salmon in peace while listening to the sound of the river. The wind blew gently and the screen reappeared.

-

Task: Pass the night.

Reward: 20 shillings.

-

It seemed the screen did only know how to give 20 shillings. Tanya sighed and went back to the village. She went to the Tavern and got herself a room for the night which costed 10 shillings. She had 34 shillings left.

The night passed and Tanya woke up with another 20 shillings which meant she now had 54 shillings. So far this life of hers was very convenient. Though she wouldn't be surprised if the rug was pulled from under her anytime soon now.

-

Task: Hunt 3 preys.

Reward: 20 shillings.

-

"Can't you give me something other than shillings?"

-

Quest: Get a girlfriend.

Reward: 10 kilograms of coffee and sugar.

-

Tanya didn't know what to say, she could only blink. She got up and headed down for breakfast. After eating her meal for 4 shillings, she headed into the forest. She thought of the three prey she would hunt. A fish, a bird, and maybe a rabbit.

A brush rustled and revealed a girl about Tanya's physical age. The two stared at each other and blinked. From their analysis of each, both were huntresses.

"Mine name is Artoria, what is thine?"

"...Tanya."
