Jay pov
Gathered in the courtyard, all of us face the source dragon of Motion. I had actually never seen this dragon before, but Nya explained her to me. She may have left out some details such as how huge and terrifying she was!
"I come with news ninja." The source dragon says. I don't even register her words.
"I think I know what it is," Lloyd responds, "I just had a vision when you appeared. We're in for a lot of trouble." Lloyd tells us about his dream thing. The red landscape. Nya and Sora running from him. Zane and I are lying unconscious on the floor. Kai and Lloyd being swallowed up by purple fire. Then, he tells us that the forbidden five are planning something huge. Something that will doom all of Ninjago. Great things.
"Yes they are planning something. We source dragons have been forced into hiding because of their plans. I can help you, but only a little, before I too must go into hiding." Then in a bright flash of red and gold light erupts in the courtyard. The darn thing is so bright I both close and shield my eyes. I'm going to be blind after this!
When the flash is gone, a little statue stands right in front of me. I jump back in fear at the big pole with the source dragons carved on it. On top of the pole are three horns. In the front a dragon paw (is that what it is? Talon? Paw? Hand?) with 5 glimmering red claws sticking out.
"This is the Statue of Source. Its power is of the Source dragons, " The dragon booms, "It will give you three riddles that you must solve with four guesses each. When you accomplish this, you may be able to see what the Five are doing. Good luck ninja."
With that, there is another giant flash of light, and she's gone.
"Sooooooooo…that was odd." Odd doesn't even begin to describe it, but it's the best I could think of. "What do we do now?"
"Now we solve the riddles." Lloyd says, stepping up the statue. Aaaaaannnnddd. Nothing happens.
"Ummm…is there like a switch or something?" Cole asks. Everyone looks at each other.
"Tell us your riddle." Lloyd tries. He says it so much like Master Wu would that I want to laugh, but a quick look from Nya tells me that it would not be appropriate.
Surprisingly, the statue's mouth opens, and the words come out of its mouth.
"For your first riddle it will be the easiest. Tell me, what are the strongest elemental powers?"
We all look at each other in shock. The voice that comes out of the statue is whispy and to be honest, kinda creepy. It sends a shiver down my spine.
"Zane?" Sora asked.
Zane steps up to the statue. "The elemental powers of creation and destruction."
One of the horns on the top of the statue suddenly turns gold. I hold my breath. After all this time of being betrayed, being in traps, getting captured and all that, you get really used to everything going wrong. The mouth opens on the dragon and I expect to breathe fire and incinerate us all.
"Correct." The statue says, "What is the tornado of creation?"
"Isn't it some sort of like, weather thing?" Wyldefire asked.
Apparently, this statue took questions as answers because before we could say anything, one of the red claws bursts into flames and the statue shouts "WRONG!"
"No Wyldefire. At least now we know to be careful with our answers…and questions." Kai says.
"The tornado of creation is the combined forces of Spinjitzu to create anything. You can also use it as a force against darkness." Nya responds to the statue.
"When did you get so wise?" I asked. Nya had always been amazing and smart but seriously! Nya smiled at me.
"Correct." The dragon says. One more question. "Which of you have had the most troubling childhood?"
Wow. That's new. All of the other questions have been something that all ninja would know, but this…is different.
"Umm okay." I look over at Lloyd and give him the look. We all have heard about his past. Lloyd steps up to the dragon. "I am." He says.
"WRONG!" It screams and one of the talons burst into flames. We all stare at it in shock. How could it not be Lloyd?
"Wyldefire?" Lloyd asks. She steps up. "WRONG!" It shouts again. Another claw is engulfed in fire.
"Ummmm… what happens when all the talons are covered in fire?" No one can answer me.
We try Sora next because of her past. It also doesn't work and we only have two guesses left.
"I can try," Nya says, "Our past was probably not worse than Lloyds, but it will rule out both Kai and I."
It doesn't work. I absolutely know it's not me. I had a great childhood. So we're down to Cole, Zane, Geo, Bonzle and the two lost kids. Great.
"Let's think about it overnight, okay? We can guess in the morning." We all start filing inside. I notice Nya still standing by the statue, so I do what any good boyfriend does, I try to make her laugh.
"Too bad it wasn't "Who's the prettiest girl in the world, cause that would have been so easy." Annnnnndddd, Yes there's that smile I was hoping for! She even gives me a half-hearted chuckle.
"I'm just wondering who could possibly have had that terrible of a life." Nya stares up at the dragon again.
"I'm not sure either, but I guess we'll find out tomorrow."
Nobody's Pov
The person goes out into the courtyard, trying not to make a sound. They don't want the others to hear. They go out in front of the statue and take a deep breath.
"It's me," the person says, "Don't let anyone know and give us what we need right away in the morning." And they walk away.
The statue sits in silence with it's four talons burning before saying "Correct."
