If I've said this once, I said it a million times; I don't do art commissions. I've stated that very clearly on my bio. It's not hard to read, especially if you have glasses on and getting constant messages for commissions is really annoying and frustrating when I say no. If you want to draw something based on my fics, credit me and message me if it's free, because I don't waste my money on digital art.
David glanced at the three ants, who were still trying to wrap their heads around the whole concept of costumes. He thought for a moment before speaking up.
"Well, Dot's already the princess from Ant Island, and since Emily's going as one too, we shouldn't copy that," David explained, trying to simplify things for them. "But for you three, I have some ideas. Daisy, how about something magical? Like… a fairy? You know, someone with wings and maybe a little wand?"
Daisy looked puzzled. "A fairy? What's that?"
David smiled, thinking of how to explain. "A fairy is like a small magical person. They usually have wings, and they can do little magical things, like helping people or making things grow."
"Wings?" Daisy asked, her eyes wide with curiosity. "I can have wings like that?"
"Exactly!" David nodded. "It'll be fun."
He turned to Teeny next. "Teeny, how about you be a witch? You know, someone with a pointed hat and maybe a broom? They can do magic and cast spells."
"A witch?" Teeny repeated, tilting her head. "Like magic? I don't know how to do magic."
David laughed. "No worries, it's all pretend! You wear the costume and pretend you have magical powers."
Teeny grinned. "I like pretending!"
Finally, David turned to Dot. "And you, Dot, I was thinking you could be a pirate! A pirate has a cool hat, an eye patch, and a big coat. Pirates sail the seas and go on adventures."
Dot blinked. "Pirate? What's that?"
David chuckled. "Pirates are kind of like adventurers who sail on big ships. They look tough, but they're all about finding treasure and having fun."
Dot's face lit up. "Ooh, that sounds fun!"
David laughed. "I thought you'd like that one."
The girls seemed to get more excited as they tried to imagine themselves as these characters. "Okay, we're ready!" Daisy said, bouncing with excitement.
David grinned. "Alright then, let's get these costumes ready!"
David led the girls to the area where they could get dressed. He pulled out a few costume options, setting them down in front of each of them.
"Alright, Daisy," he said, handing her the fairy costume. "Here's your outfit. It's got wings and everything. You just need to put on the sparkly dress and these wings, and we'll tie the little wand on your arm. You'll look just like a fairy."
Daisy took the costume and examined it. "Wings? These are cool!" she said, her eyes lighting up as she held the delicate wings up. "I can fly in these, right?"
David chuckled. "You can pretend to fly, that's for sure."
Teeny got her witch costume next. "Here you go, Teeny," David said, handing her the pointed hat and a simple black dress. "This is your witch outfit. Just put on the hat, and we'll tie the belt on your waist. You'll look just like someone who can cast spells."
Teeny took the hat and adjusted it on her head. "It feels funny," she said, looking up at David. "But I like it!"
"Perfect! You'll look great," David encouraged her. "Now, just slip into the dress and we'll add the broom later."
Dot received the pirate costume, which included a simple coat, a scarf, and a faux eyepatch. "Here you go, Dot," David said, handing her the items. "This is your pirate look. You can put on the coat, and we'll tie the scarf around your head. There's also an eyepatch for that classic pirate look."
Dot looked at the items with interest. "A pirate? So I'm like… a treasure hunter?"
David smiled. "Exactly! You can pretend to be the captain of your own ship, leading your crew on a big adventure."
The girls excitedly changed into their costumes, with David helping them adjust the pieces when needed.
Daisy stood up, spreading her wings. "I look like a real fairy!" she said, spinning around.
Teeny adjusted her hat, glancing at herself in a mirror. "I look like I'm ready to cast some spells," she said, grinning.
Dot tied the scarf around her head, securing the eyepatch in place. "Arrr! I'm ready to sail the seas!" she declared, putting on her best pirate voice.
David stepped back, nodding with approval. "You all look awesome. I think you're ready for Halloween night." He gave them each a thumbs-up. "How do you feel?"
The girls looked at each other, their faces lit up with excitement. "We feel great!" they said in unison, their costumes now fully on.
David chuckled, giving the Blueberries an approving nod before turning to Emily. "Alright, honey. Time to get you dressed up too."
Emily, who'd been watching the costume prep with wide eyes, grinned and ran over to him. "I'm ready, Daddy!"
David picked up the pieces of her princess costume—a sparkly dress, a tiara, and a tiny pair of glittery shoes. "Here we go, my little princess. Let's get you into your royal look."
As he helped her slip into the dress and adjust the tiara, Emily wiggled with excitement. "Do I look like a real princess?" she asked, gazing up at him with big eyes.
David smiled warmly. "You look like the most royal princess ever," he assured her, giving her tiara one last little adjustment.
Emily spun around, letting the skirt twirl as she looked at the Blueberries. "Look! I'm a princess now, just like you guys!"
Dot, still adjusting her eyepatch, gave her a thumbs-up. "You look awesome, Emily!"
Emily beamed, her excitement adding an extra sparkle to her princess look. David took a step back, admiring all four girls. "Alright, we've got a fairy, a witch, a pirate, and a princess. I think you're all set for Halloween."
"What are you gonna go as?" Teeny asked, tilting her head at David.
"Hmmm…" The male human tapped his chin thoughtfully. "Well, I'm thinking about going as a Greek god."
"Greek god?" Daisy echoed, her antennae twitching in confusion. "What's that?"
David chuckled. "It's from human mythology. Greek gods were these powerful beings that humans in ancient times believed controlled different things—like the sky, the sea, and even love. They had these cool outfits, like togas, and carried things like lightning bolts or tridents."
Dot frowned slightly, still trying to grasp the idea. "So... you're gonna wear a toga? What's a toga?"
"It's like a big piece of fabric wrapped around you like a robe," David explained, gesturing with his hands. "I'd also have a laurel wreath on my head. That's a crown made of leaves—kind of like a fancy hat."
Teeny blinked, tilting her head further. "Why would someone wear leaves as a hat?"
David laughed. "Back then, it was a sign of being a hero or a leader. It's symbolic. I thought it'd be something simple but different."
Daisy looked at him, still processing. "So... you'll look like a tree wearing a robe?"
The male burst out laughing at the innocent observation. "Not exactly, but close enough!"
The girls giggled, their curiosity now satisfied—at least a little—while David shook his head in amusement. "You'll see when I put it all together. Trust me, it'll make more sense then."
Emily eagerly grabbed Dot's hand, practically bouncing with excitement. "Come on, come on! Let's go look in the mirror!"
Dot stumbled a little as she was tugged along but laughed. "Okay, okay, slow down, Emily! I'm coming!"
The two hurried over to the large mirror in the hallway, where Emily stopped and struck a twirl, showing off her sparkly princess dress. Dot adjusted her pirate hat, trying to strike a confident pose beside her.
"Do I look like a real princess?" Emily asked, her voice filled with anticipation.
Dot smiled at her reflection. "You look amazing! I think you'd fit right into a human fairy tale."
Emily giggled and then pointed at Dot's costume. "And you're the coolest pirate ever!"
Dot pretended to puff out her chest and brandish an invisible sword. "Arr, matey! Captain Dot at your service!"
The girls dissolved into laughter as the rest of the group continued their preparations nearby, smiling at the infectious joy of the two youngest participants.
"Alright. I'd better change too," thought David, turning towards the room to get into his own costume.
