Finally, the day had come. The world's fate was at stake, and this could be the only chance to prevent a catastrophic disaster.

Nearly a hundred people were tensely gathered by the Nexus, worried about what was to come. Dimensie had inferred that this would be where Paradox would make his final stand. It was the most powerful place in the realms, and they had to protect it.

Grimly, Danny looked over to his friends. Beside him was his sister Ceci, who looked just as nervous as him. Around them were an assortment of people, both familiar and new. Jamie, Denise, Sam, and Tucker were equipped with ghost-fighting equipment. Behind them were Inferno and Plasmius, ready to make a stand and protect the kids as best as possible.

Everyone was even united by similar clothing. Enchantra had blessed them all with differently colored jumpsuits embedded with protection magic. The boys had black jumpsuits highlighted in some areas with a particular color, while the girls had more colorful ensembles.

The past day had been a whirlwind of developments. To prepare everyone for the upcoming battle, Danny's parents from his dimension, Jack and Maddie, had been brought into the know. Danny figured it was best that he came clean about his secret to assure them that ghosts weren't all evil. Luckily, all his friends had been by his side.

His parents were shell-shocked, but they understood the urgency and importance. As quickly as possible, they provided every invention they had to people who wanted them.

In addition, Ceci was in a similar boat. From another dimension, her parents, Maddie and Vlad, had also been told. Similarly, they got ready for battle and put the shock and many questions they had on the back burner.

They had done all that they could. Dozens of people had been assembled across dimensions, including Danny and Jazz's counterparts from Magdalene Soulwing's dimension and several ghostly kids of the ancients. They were as ready as they would ever be.

On the other side of the metaphorical battlefield, Paradox was also preparing. He felt as strong as ever with his new allies, Lady Spirit, Dark Dan, Lady Belladonna, and Freakshow. He knew together, they would be able to overpower even the Ancients, and that was precisely what the world needed.

Finally, he made his move. In his hands, he summoned a spear topped with a swirling orb depicting space. With a wave of one hand, he summoned several dozen entities of outer space, all taking after constellations and roaring with power. Beside him, he heard his allies laugh with glee. They weaved some of their power into the creatures, making them far more powerful than Paradox could manage alone.

With a nod from Paradox, the space creatures swarmed the Nexus. The three ghosts came in behind them, their hands cracking with immense power. For now, they would stay on the sidelines watching and waiting. Freakshow and Lady Belladonna gladly took the opportunity to join in on the chaos, following the space creatures towards the Nexus.

Soon, shouts were heard from the opposing army, and it had begun. The space creatures launched themselves at ghosts and humans with razor-sharp teeth and claws. In unison, the Ancients gathered their power and created a shield around everyone, causing the space creatures to smash into it head-first. But the safety was temporary, as Paradox's creatures began clawing through the portal. With the combination of Paradox's, Dark Dan's, and Lady Spirit's power, they were unstoppable by even the Ancients.

Soon, the Nexus was surrounded by pure chaos. Both sides fought hard, throwing energy blasts and ecto-gun blasts every way. The space creatures were formidable, but Danny and Ceci's side outnumbered them. People banded together in groups to occupy the space creatures, trading blows and protecting each other when possible. The ones who could fly gave air support, raining shots down at the creatures from above.

Freakshow used his swirling red orb to hypnotize some opposing forces, and Lady Belladonna wasted no time using her fae magic to disorient dozens of her enemies. The unexpected attackers caused Danny and Ceci's allies to waver in panic as they fought their own hypnotized allies.

As the humans and ghosts handled the attacking constellations, the Ancients had their own goal. They had to find the creatures' origin and fight it at the source. Soon enough, Clockwork saw a familiar figure through the chaos. It was Paradox… formerly his sibling Nebulous.

Upon seeing each other, the two ghosts launched towards each other, weapons in hand. Soon, they were engaged in an intense battle, even transcending time as they traded blows. Paradox could create jagged black rifts wherever he pleased, further damaging the fabric of reality. As bad as that was, Clockwork was too busy focusing on the hand-to-hand combat. Paradox had been practicing, as he could quickly gain the upper hand.

Around them, the rest of the Ancients helped where they could and handled the other two mighty ghosts. Using their combined expertise, they managed to hold their own.

Paradox knocked Clockwork onto the ground with a harsh blow, his spear only inches from Clockwork's head. Around them, the battle slowed as others began to watch in glee or horror.

For the first time in hundreds of years, Paradox felt hopeful. After all this time, he was about to rid the universe of the Ancient's rule once and for all. Once Clockwork was out of the picture, the others would fall like dominoes.

Before he could finish the job, a sudden pain made him crumble to the ground. Paradox gasped as he felt his energy slipping away. Around him, his space creatures writhed and screamed as they slowly dissolved into black specks. Freakshow and Lady Belladonna were reduced to a similar state and collapsed to the ground as their power withered away.

Everyone looked on in shock. What was happening? Was the battle over? Their three former enemies collapsed on the ground and looked pale. Cronos could tell they were nearing death after only seconds of something draining their power. He looked at the other Ancients in alarm, but they could do little.

Two voices began to laugh, floating above the battlefield. The attention was drawn to two grinning ghosts with an unfathomable amount of power.

"Well, our plan worked marvelously, didn't it, big sister?" Dan gloated.

"As I knew it would, little brother," Lady Spirit responded with a mystical lint to her voice. Clearly, the evil brother and sister duo had betrayed their allies and stolen their power for their own. "Who better than us to be supreme rulers over all reality?"

Horror filled everyone who listened. They were already tired and hurt from the problematic battle against Paradox, and it seemed that the fight had only started. As Danny and Ceci had feared, their evil selves were back and stronger than ever…

The Ancients stood together grimly, with an injured Clockwork staggering upright next to them. Behind them, the half-ghost siblings looked on as their evil alternate selves reveled in their newfound power. How would anyone stop them now?
