Hehe, i got my first review!

Chicamook:Really glad you liked it!

More notes at the end!

He stepped outside and closed the door behind him, he was immediately met with three little brats, all standing up and looking at him expectantly. Kakashi crossed his arms and raised an unamused eyebrow at them.

"What is it now?" He asked, keeping his voice level.

"Sensei! We have a question!"

Naruto's voice was loud and boisterous, as usual.

Sasuke glanced at Naruto in irritation, and grumbled out his reply. "Idiot. We have multiple questions."

Kakashi let out a heavy sigh.

Great. Of course, they had multiple questions.

He silently prayed to himself that at least one of them wasn't a stupid question.

"Asking multiple questions is still asking something, you know." Kakashi remarked, his expression still the same.

Naruto gave an annoyed huff while Sasuke rolled his eyes.

Sakura, being the calm and rational one, stepped forward.

"Sensei, we were wondering something," she said, looking up at him with an innocent expression.

Unlikely, but he can hope.

Kakashi's eye landed on Sakura, noticing that she seemed to be the only one with a sensible tone in her voice.

He knew it.

She was the only sane one out of the three.

"What is it, Sakura?" He asked, giving all his attention to the girl.

"We were wondering if you've ever been on a date," Sakura said, her head tilted quizzically.

Naruto and Sasuke immediately perked up, their faces showing a mix of curiosity and amusement.

Kakashi's eye widened in surprise.

Of all the questions the brats could've asked, that was not one he had expected.

A date. Him.

He's never been on one. It was the last thing on his mind.

Kakashi let out a breath, a little amused at the absurdity of the question.

"Why do you want to know that?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Well, we've never seen you with a girlfriend, sensei!" Naruto exclaimed, his arms flailing.

"Yeah! It's suspicious at this point!" Sasuke added, a sly smirk on his face.

Kakashi couldn't help but let out a small chuckle at their remarks.

Suspicious.

Was it really that suspicious?

He scratched the back of his head thoughtfully, thinking about how to respond to their question.

"Well, let's just say that dates were not high on my priority list. Missions kept me busy," he said lightly, trying to keep his tone nonchalant.

He paused as he said that. He wasn't technically lying; he never really had gone out on an official date with... He only had what he called a long, unrequited love for you. But he never knew if you felt the same, because... he never asked. He had planned to ask you out years ago, before you—

"Kakashi sensei!"

Three voices snapped him out of his thoughts.

"What?" he asked, his gaze meeting the concerned eyes of his three students, who were now inches from his face.

"Are you alright, Sensei? You seemed lost in thought..." Sakura murmured softly.

Kakashi blinked, realizing that he had spaced out momentarily.

He had gotten lost in his thoughts again, memories of the past resurfacing and consuming his mind.

He shook his head slightly, forcing himself to focus back on reality, on the here and now.

"I'm fine. Just a bit tired, that's all," he said, offering a reassuring smile.

Though his smile might have not reached his eye, his voice was steady enough to convince the kids that he was alright.

The three brats stared at him, clearly not entirely convinced. But thankfully, they didn't press on the matter further.

Naruto scratched the back of his head, and muttered something under his breath.

Sasuke, on the other hand, continued to look at him suspiciously.

"You sure you're okay, sensei?" he asked, his voice a hint softer than usual.

Kakashi nodded firmly, trying to keep his composure.

"I'm sure," he said firmly.

He knew he couldn't let his emotions get the better of him, not in front of the kids.

"Now, why were you three so curious about my dating life?"

"We just wanted to know why you haven't had one!" Naruto exclaimed loudly.

Sasuke rolled his eyes at the blonde's outburst.

"Idiot," he muttered under his breath. "Sensei's been alone for years. It's a valid question."

"Sasuke," Sakura scolded, glaring at the Uchiha.

Naruto huffed in annoyance at Sasuke's comment.

Kakashi chuckled lightly, amused by their banter.

"Alone," he repeated to himself silently.

How accurate that word was to describe him.

"You know what they say, kids," he said, his voice almost playful. "Being alone isn't so bad."

It was a lie. Being alone was a curse he'd been burdened with for years.

But he had to keep up appearances.

Naruto and Sakura seemed to accept his statement, but Sasuke wasn't as convinced. The boy still looked at him with a skeptical expression.

He could understand the Uchiha boy's suspicion. After all, he too was alone. Essentially the last one of his clan, apart from his 'traitor' older brother.

Kakashi could see the look of suspicion in Sasuke's dark eyes, and he could sense the loneliness that seemed to radiate from the boy.

He could empathize with him all too well, given their similar circumstances.

Kakashi knew what it was like to lose everything and be left alone to pick up the pieces. It's not a feeling he wishes anyone to experience.

He could only hope that the boy would give up on his so-called revenge. Because he knows it isn't the right path

Kakashi glanced at Sasuke, his eye holding a hint of sympathy. He knew the Uchiha boy was on a dangerous path, and he couldn't help but wish there was something he could say to turn him around. But he knew all too well the deep, dark pit of despair that revenge can send someone into.

He knew it was a road that only leads to more suffering, and he could only hope that Sasuke would realize that before it's too late.

"Anywayssss! Kakashi-sensei! Teach us some more tricks!" Naruto exclaimed, completely disregarding the intense staring match between his teammate and Sensei.

"Idiot," Sakura muttered as she shook her head and poked Naruto in the side.

"Ouch! That hurt, Sakura-chan!" Naruto complained as he rubbed the spot where he was poked.

Sasuke broke eye contact with Kakashi and gave the blonde boy a disdainful look.

"You that weak?" He sneered.

"Grr! Come at me, Sasuke!" Naruto yelled back as he attempted to land a punch on Sasuke. Fortunately, the raven-haired boy dodged with effortless ease.

"Hah, that all you got?"

Kakashi chuckled as the two boys started to bicker again.

It was almost like watching a live comedy skit, with Naruto's boisterous nature and Sasuke's brooding attitude.

He couldn't help but shake his head at the two, but there was a soft smile playing at the corner of his mouth.

He had to admit, it was good to see them still act like brats.

"Hey, hey! Stop your fighting!" Sakura scolded, standing between the two boys to break up their scuffle.

Naruto stuck his tongue out at Sasuke, who merely huffed in contempt.

Kakashi watched, silently amused, as the kids bickered back and forth.

It reminded him of a time when he and his team mates were just like them, young and carefree, still learning about the world around them.

As the kids continued to bicker amongst themselves, Kakashi couldn't help but feel a pang of nostalgia.

Their squabbles reminded him of his own team back in the day - Team Minato.

He sighed softly to himself as old memories started to resurface in his mind..

The days of going on missions with his two teammates, Obito, and Rin.

The laughter and banter between the three of them, their endless optimism and energy.

The late night training sessions and the early mornings of trying to get Obito out of bed.

And you—from another team—somehow always end up crossing paths with his own team. But he'd never regret meeting you. Somehow, you also blend in seamlessly with his team.

He smiled softly under his mask, remembering those random encounters during missions.

Those chance meetings that led to deep conversations and a bond that formed between you and his team.

He shook his head as he watched the two boys still bickering and Sakura doing her best to prevent them from attacking each other.

"Alright, alright, stop it, you two. Apart from Naruto's request, are there any other questions?"

"Ah! Right, so about the thing you showed us yesterday—"

And suddenly, somehow, the squabbling ceased. The three of them sat down on the grass, and he himself sat down on a tree stump. They began asking their questions, and the fight was forgotten.

As the three brats settled down and started asking their questions, Kakashi couldn't help but feel a mix of amusement and pride.

He answered their queries patiently, his voice steady and calm.

The previous squabble was like a distant memory, momentarily forgotten as they focused on their discussions.

The brats' questions varied from techniques to missions to random musings. They were eager to learn, to understand everything.

And even though Kakashi pretended to be annoyed at their queries, he secretly took pleasure in their inquisitiveness.

And before they knew it, it was already dark. And they all heard her shout.

"Kakashi-san! Kids! Dinner is ready!"

Naruto jumped up as his stomach rumbled without a hint of shame.

"Mhmmmm, dinner time!" He grinned.

"That's all you look forward to," Sasuke mumbled under his breath as he stood up and dusted off his pants.

"Ehh!? What was that!?" Naruto got in his face, but was soon whacked on the head by Sakura.

"Stop picking fights with each other, please." She said as she massaged her temples.

Naruto huffed but backed off, and put his arms behind his head.

"Hai hai~ Sakura-chan"

Kakashi chuckled at the exchange between the brats.

He stood up, stretching his limbs and cracking his back.

"Looks like it's time for dinner," he murmured, his voice slightly gravelly.

"Alright, brats, let's go," he called out to the three kids, who were now excitedly discussing what they were going to eat.

Naruto was practically salivating at the thought of food, and Sasuke's stomach grumbled quietly. Even Sakura looked eager, despite her earlier annoyance.

Together, the group walked towards the house where dinner would await them. Kakashi could already smell the aroma of whatever food was being cooked, and his own stomach rumbled in anticipation.

The brats continued to chatter amongst themselves, their voices filling the night air with youthful energy.
