I land on the cobbled streets of Diagon Alley and head to Ollivander's.
I trudged slowly towards the shop; my entrance was announced by the ring of a little bell above the door.
Ah, Madam Snape, I was wondering when I'd see you. Come in, come in. He waves me in.
"So, you are in need of a new wand," he chuckles. He's quite an eccentric chap."
Yes, I'm not too sure what happened to my last one. I'm quite sad to have lost it.
He turns to me mid-step.
"Nothing loved is ever truly lost, just misplaced."
I pondered that for a moment. "That's quite a lovely thought."
Ollivander looks miles away for a moment, looking off into the distance, but snaps back to me. Right, let's get you sorted.
10 inches, 3/4, last time, if I'm not mistaken, dragon heart string.
"Yes, I nod. That's amazing!" He slaps the counter, barks a laugh, and scurries out of view.
Left alone in the store, I mill about, looking at all the displays. It's organized but messy.
I hadn't needed to come in here since well, forever. The last time I'd needed to come was when I was 11, but this would be my third wand. I now remember both times I came.
Some wizards keep their original wands their whole lives, and me? Well, let's just hope it's the last one!
Here we go, he announces, pulling me out of my musings. I have a very special one for you. Let's try this.
He presents me with a long, black box.
I hesitate to open it.
A beautiful, simple, and pure white wand lays before me.
I've gone with the same length, but the core is a little different. Tell me what you think.
Once in my hand, it was heavier than my last one. It gently hummed in my hand, almost a warm sensation.
"Try it," I called on my powers, and instantly the wand responded.
Beautiful butterflies fluttered around the room
I loved it. It felt right. It was mine.
Olivander placed a hand on my shoulder. We have a winner. She's found her owner.
I nod in agreement. It feels almost spiritual. "Yes," I whisper, "she's perfect. Thank you."
I bid Ollivander goodbye leaving the empty long black box on the counter I was now Feeling pretty pleased with myself.
I head out of the shop and head to the apparition point.
Next stop: Spinner's End.
