Mona, Sam, and Jonathan were in the living room watching Uncle Buck waiting for Tony and Angela to come home. It had been almost an hour since they had abandoned them and as far as they were concerned no news was good news. But then again knowing Tony and Angela they were fit to be tied!

"So how mad do you think they are?" Sam asked passing the bowl of popcorn over to Mona.

Mona shrugged. "Who knows? It's been almost an hour since we've left them. If they were really angry they would have been back ages ago yelling at us for interfering, how dare we, blah, blah, blah!" Mona waved her hand in the air.

"What I want to know is how much trouble we're in." Jonathan sighed. He took a long swallow of his cola.

"Ah please! What are they going to do to us?" Mona rolled her eyes.

"Well, I'm still underage. They can ground me."

"For what? Setting them up? Leaving them at the restaurant?" Sam asked.

"Well yeah! Grandma they can't ground you and Sam you live in the dorm but me? They're going to take it out on me!"

"Oh don't worry about it. Look if it comes to that Sam and I will back you up. But I'm sure everything is just fine. Yeah, I'm sure they were probably infuriated when they realized we had tricked them again but all's fair in love and war."

"We're not at war Grandma."

"Uh yes we are. The three of us have been at war with the two of them for years. Now maybe we have finally won!"

Sam laughed. "I just wish we knew what was going on."

"Well if they're smart they are either making out right now or they threw caution to the wind and eloped to Las Vegas!" Mona smiled.

"I just hope this nightmare will finally be over and they can have a little happiness." Sam said.

"Me too." Jonathan said.

"Oh don't worry kids. Whatever is going on with Tony and Angela I'm sure everything is peachy keen!"

Angela let out a blood curdling scream. Tony was lying on the ground, his shirt covered in blood. His face was pale and he was breathing heavily.

"Tony! Oh my God!" She rushed over to him and knelt down beside him. Tears streamed down her face.

"An..An…gela…" He choked out.

"Well that's one problem taken care of!" Keith got up and put the safety of his gun on and shoved it in the waistband of his jeans

"Now to take care of the other problem. Come on sweetheart let's go. My buddies are eager to have a go with you."

He grabbed her by the waist and lifted her to her feet.

"Let go of me!" Angela struggled against him. "HELP!" She screamed with all her might.

Keith slapped his hand across her mouth.

"Oh none of that. You need to save the screaming for my buddies." Angela continued struggling which only made him laugh.

"Hey, you know what? You're a feisty one! I was going to let my buddies have all the fun but I think I'm going to join them!"

Angela felt a cold chill run through her. She looked eyes with Tony who was staring up at her his eyes filled with fear and anger.

"Okay, enough of this…"

"GET YOUR DAMN HANDS OFF HER!" A voice roared from behind. Before Angela could blink she felt someone grab Keith and pull him off her. She turned and saw a young man in his early twenties. He had Keith in a headlock. A few moments later an older couple joined them. The older man punched Keith in the stomach. He then grabbed him by his collar.

"You piece of filth! Who the hell raised you? HUH? Treating a woman like that?!"

"Oh honey! Are you okay?" The woman asked.

Angela was crying and shaking.

"Police. We need to call the police."

"We already did. We were driving by and saw what was going on."

Angela nodded and rushed back over to Tony. She knelt down beside him and grabbed his hand.

"Tony, please just hang on! Please don't leave me!"

After another minute-but actually felt like a million years to Angela-they heard sirens wailing. An ambulance and two police cars pulled into the parking lot and stopped by the scene.

The paramedics got out and removed a gurney from the back of the ambulance. They rushed over to Tony and carefully slid him on.

"Are you his wife?" One of them asked Angela.

"I…Yes I am." She hated lying but there was no way she was letting Tony out of her sight.

"Okay, you can ride in the back."

"Here you go honey. This must be your purse." The other lady said.

"Thank you." Angela said. She grabbed Tony's wallet off the ground too. She followed the paramedics to the ambulance. They lifted Tony in and then helped her in. They closed the door and the driver put on the emergency lights and sirens and sped out of the parking lot.

"Okay, does someone want to fill us in?" One of the officers asked.

"Yeah, I will." The older man said. "This piece of garbage here-he pointed to Keith-and the man who was shot were fighting. So I pulled into the grocery store across the street and ran in to call the police.

"And I ran over to try and help. I heard the gunshot and when I got here he was dragging the woman away. So I yelled at him to let her go. I grabbed him and held him in a headlock." The younger man said.

"Okay, before we go any further. I'll need your names for the police report."

"Okay. My name is Joe Thomopolous. And this is my wife Fran and our son Hank."

Andy pulled into the hospital parking lot. This was the last place he wanted to be. He would rather have stayed home and nursed his wounds with a bottle of gin. But, he had a job to do and no matter what was going on in his personal life his patients always came first. He got out and went inside and over to the elevators. He punched the open button and stepped in. He punched the third floor and waited for it to ascend.

He still couldn't believe Angela had dumped him for Tony! Tony was a nice enough guy but he was nowhere in Angela's league! The two of them had been perfect together-or so he had thought. But Angela had obviously had other ideas, Had she just been biding her time? Wait! What about Kathleen? Where did she fit into all this? Were she and Tony still together or had he dumped her too?

The doors slid open and he walked out.

"Good evening doctor." Hannah, one of the nurses said.

"Hello Hannah. So how has it been today?"

"Pretty quiet actually."

"Good."

"Hello Andy."

He turned and saw Isabelle walking towards him.

"Hello."

Isabelle looked him over.

"Are you okay?"

'What? Oh yeah I'm fine." Normally he would have enjoyed talking to her. They had been colleagues for years and had high professional respect for each other. But now all he could think was that she was one of Angela's best friends and the last thing he wanted was to be thinking of her.

RING! RING!

Hannah picked the phone up.

"Good Evening. Fairfield General"

She listened for a few moments.

"Yes, I understand. We'll be ready!" She hung the phone up.

"What's going on?" Isabelle asked?

"They're bringing in a gunshot victim."

"Male? Female? Age?" Andy asked.

'Male in his late thirties."

A few minutes later the elevator dinged open and the paramedics rushed out with Tony. Angela was following close behind.

"Angela!" Isabelle cried.

Isabelle saw who it was on the gurney and gasped.

"Oh my God!"

Andy took charge. "Okay get him in cubicle one…. NOW!" he ordered.

Isabelle grasped Angela's hand and followed Andy and Hannah.

Angela looked around in shock.

She felt like she was having an out of body experience.

The room started spinning.

Then everything went black.

And before she could blink she fell to the floor.
