Getting closer to him helped her breathe but she hesitated. He was no longer trashing or snarling.
"He is calmer," Kagome whispered,
"Because you are near,"
He was still straining his arms.
"The only thing keeping him from you is my magic,"
Kagome looked back at her.
"Do you doubt my power?"
She didnt know this woman, but if she was anything like Sesshomaru, she was powerful.
"I dont doubt his," Kagome said, his mother smiled. "That is wise, but you are safe,"
Kagome looked back at him. Such much pain and yet so much power. It made her sad.
"Why do you hesitate?"
Kagome shook her head "He doesn't want this,"
"Deep down, he does,"
Kagome looked back at her "It isn't fair,"
"What is it you humans say, all is fair in love and war?"
"This isn't love!"
"No, but it is a war within,"
Kagome grew angry "He shouldn't be forced!"
"I agree," His mother said sternly, "This is the only way to ease the pain and fight it,"
"He doesn't want me touching him,"
"He does, he doesn't,"
The blood on him was dried now and the only sound was his arm yanking the chains.
"Just as you do and you dont,"
"It's not the same," Kagome whispered.
His mother half smiled. Any other human would not hesitate, the fact that she was gave his mother pride in her. She was not like other humans indeed.
"Kagome,"
Kagome sighed and made her way closer to him, "Sesshomaru,"
His nose flared and his blood-red eyes narrowed. Fear rattled through her for the first time and he closed his eyes and inhaled. Kagome wasn't sure what to do, how to touch him. Hugging him seemed too weird, and touching him with her hands seemed too sexual. All of it without his content seemed wrong.
So Kagome did what she thought was best. She tipped toed, slowly and kissed him on his cheek. He growled, but not threating. He leaned into it and his mother watched as he made fist.
Kagome kept her eyes closed as her tummy flopped with fear.
His other looked past the horizon on her hidden palace to watch as the moon faded away.
Sesshomaru closed his eyes and when he opened them again, they were normal.
Kagome pulled back and gasped and stepped back quickly, "Sesshomaru, I-"
"It is enough Miko," He told her quickly and then looked at his mother, "Release me,"
She hesitated but with a flick on her hand, did so.
He refused to bend a knee in front of Kagome and steadied himself standing tall.
"I-
"The half-breed did not come?"
"The well isn't working,"
As he feared.
"I dont understand, I left-"
"Time can not separate the bond,"
"Bond?" Kagome asked,
He looked at her and then turned to a bowl of water sitting nearby. He cleaned the blood off.
"A you angry?" Kagome asked.
He was, he wasn't.
"It matters not,"
Kagome looked back at his mother.
"Fear not, he knows it was my idea,"
To him, it was a terrible one but in did help he could not deny that.
"Your fear does not help," He said suddenly and then looked at her, "It only fuels it,"
Kagome swallowed and he walked close to her to oppose his size on her. "Why are you afraid now?"
Kagome stepped back, "Stop it," She said, "None of this is fair, I was trying to help,"
She didnt understand any of this, she looked down. What his mother said, what he had said, it made her head spin.
Sesshomaru grabbed her jaw and made her look up, "I am not angry with you,"
"You said you would kill me,"
"Have I not stated that before?"
"You meant it this time," She said softly,
"As if you would allow me to," He snorted and released her chin "Perhaps you should purify us both,"
Kagome looked hurt, "Is death more inviting than I am?"
He turned up one of his lips, "Do not put words in my mouth,"
"I didnt have to!" She snapped and then walked away. He watched her every step.
"Take me home please," She snapped at his mother who raised and eyebrow, "Very well, but you will return."
"Like hell, I will,"
"My pain is your pain," Sesshomaru stated,
Her firey eyes looked back at him "The I guess will both suffer, its not like im not use to it," She looked at his mother again "Please,"
Sesshomaru could nothing as both Miko and mother vanished.
He wanted to kill something, namely his brother.
