I feel like time doesn't even move anymore, being away from Aria is all I can think about. The worst part is she is still only in her first year of med school. I know she is only 3 hours away but like it feels like a million miles. I am trying hard to concentrate on the cases but right now my mind was on her. "Earth to MAX!" Klea said, "what?" I said, "you are zoning out again" "I know sorry, I just can't help it" I said and she shook her head. She had her boyfriend here working with us so she couldn't judge me. My dad was letting us take this case on, it was a murder which honestly Adventure Bay has had a lot of lately. I never did get it, but now that Foggy Bottom has expanded into Adventure Bay it has changed. After Mayor Goodway retired this new guy took over and he brought both towns together. I changed the dynamic of Adventure Bay altogether, he was a good mayor but he just didn't seem to understand the drugs and violence he brought here. "Do you think the Mayor had something to do with this?" Klea asked, "wait what? you think Mayor Grayson did this?" I asked, "No well maybe he knew the victim" she said, "Then let's go talk to him" I said as we went over to city hall, I was going to let Klea take this one she was better at sweet talking people. Once we walked in I noticed right away something seemed off, Titan felt it too and Klea walked right in as if she owned the place.
She didn't care that the secretary said he was in a meeting, the girl was bad ass in every way that is what I loved about her. "Mayor Grayson, tell me when was the last time you saw Bridget Tronson" Klea asked, "who?" the Mayor said, "Don't play dumb with me you know who, where were you Friday evening?" Klea asked, "here at work" he said, "can anyone vouch for you?" she asked, "yes my secretary was with me" he said, I went to check and she did in fact say he was here, but I felt like it could be a set up. He did pay her salary so maybe she was lying for him, "When was the last time you saw her?" Klea asked, "fine I saw her Friday she came in here looking for something" he said, I found that fishy, what exactly was she looking for? I wanted to check the cameras, I texted Adam and he was going to get the footage for me. I loved how tech guys who worked for the police could just do whatever they wanted for information. I could tell Klea wanted to keep going but we left, telling the mayor not to leave town. I mean I didn't think he would but could the mayor really be involved in this. I really hoped not he was a good mayor despite all the crime I felt like he cared about Adventure Bay. Not to say Mayor Goodway didn't but she was a bit spacey and worried about minor things, I just I don't know how I felt about her as Mayor.
Once we made it back to the station, Adam had the footage and we were able to see Bridget entering and leaving the building, there was nothing suspicious about it. "So she was there, and she did leave but what are we missing?" Klea asked, "Adam can you get access to the parking lot camera?" I asked, "sure just one second" Adam said, I wanted to see if anyone followed her to her car or something, there had to be a reason she was talking to the mayor. "There" Klea said, but it wasn't the mayor that followed her it was his secretary, "this video looks to have been deleted, I was able to find the file but it was in the trash" Adam said. "Well little miss secretary is the one we should be questioning" Klea said as we went back there. She acted all innocent. "Lucy please tell me what you knew about Bridgit" Klea asked her, it took us a few minutes but we were able to get a confession out of her and she admitted to the murder. I never expected it to be that easy, but Lucy apparently liked the mayor and she felt that Bridgit was competition as Lucy caught her with him. The Mayor had no idea that the secretary felt this way and he was floored that she admitted to murder. We had her arrested and we solved the case. It was sort of surreal it was the first case we did on our own, but I felt like it was too easy like it all made no sense. This girl was so jealous and ruined her whole life over someone she couldn't have.
Now that we didn't have a case I went back to watching Zachary, we were at a dead end, Milton was a dead end but he seemed so spaced out. I mean if anyone was to lose their job it was him. My aunt Cassie said it was only a matter of time before the hospital fired her too. I hated it things for her were just starting to get better. Ryder had a good role model in Matt but if she lost her funding for the psych department then the entire department would lose their job. I felt like Milton was a person of interest but of course right now Zachary was keeping his distance he was only a child after all. We were watching his house, he was in a foster home for right, not but we did see his birth mom visit him along with the little girl, at first I thought she was a boy with her short hair. Klea pointed out to me it was a little girl but it was crazy, I also asked Ryder and he said he didn't know her but I felt like Zachary's mom was going to get custody of him. She did have social workers with her but I still had no idea what her role in all of this was going to be. I wonder if he didn't want to go with her, that could make her angry right. I did notice that the little girl did talk to him so I wondered if they would have some sort of connection. Not that I think he would corrupt a child but who knows he was a psychopath and seemed to have everyone wrapped around his finger. Either way I think we had a lot on our plates with him, he was laying low right now. Klea seemed to think he knew we were watching him but I needed too I didn't trust him. I needed something even just the slightest screw up by him or one of the adults in his life, I needed to know why this kid had so much power!
