Ch 2: When Dream Becomes Reality
Waking up with Spadix in her bed was like a dream come true she never thought would happen. But waking up to the owl straddled across her ab muscles, grinding down into the tight creases of taunt firm muscle was a whole other thing all together. Amber eyes blinked awake to stare up at the owl, talons gripping into her sides and the sounds of Spadix's deep breathing as her hips dragged back and forth along Jin's chiseled abdomen, the heat rising to her face was unreal, outmatched only by the wet rush to her core. The favored sight as Spadix sat up upon her, clinging and trembling in pleasure against her, eyes glazed over in desire while her bare form shifted and moans and gasps left her lips, wet painting across Jin's skin was more then enough to kick Jin's body instantly into arousal.
A groan left Jin's lips, her hands reaching up to tightly grasp Spadix's thighs that were on either side of her hips, feeling them tense under her touch and Spadix whimper in pleasure, grinding down faster. Jin's inner walls clenched on nothing, shifting a bit desperate for friction but finding none, Spadix refusing to shift lower for her. Jin could feel Spadix's inner beast still pushing an alpha air out in its energy, desperate and needy, and she knew just what to do to help her horny owl reach her eager release.
With one hand, Jin reached up and grasped Spadix, pulling her closer, causing the owl to hunch over some even though she gave an unhappy growl in response. The dragon lifted some to her ear, nibbling lightly before seduction filled her voice in a whined plea, hot breath brushing the shell of Spadix's ear, "cum on me Little Bird. Cover me so everyone knows I'm all yours."
The anxious groan and tense muscles that responded to Jin's words were heavenly, causing Jin to pant as she felt the harsh jerking of Spadix's hips across her skin and felt the warm fluids coat her muscles, hot blood dripping from her sides as talons dug into the skin and trembled with the rest of the small form above her. Her own hips rocked in need, eyes unable to look away from the sight of Spadix coming undone above her, taking her hand still on Spadix's thigh and grabbing her hip, shifting her down until their hips were better aligned. A gasp left her lips and she watched Spadix's face as the owl tried to catch her breath, another round of hungry grinding spurring up in her the moment she felt Jin's core against her own, lips pressing along Jin's neck and intense surges in her nerves raging through her.
When her teeth nibbled at her mark on Jin's flesh, the dragon's hips thrashed in response, grinding up against Spadix with deep whimpers, hands grabbing hold of the owl tightly even when lips moved away from it and down her chest, tracing along tan skin until they reached Jin's breasts and her tongue slipped past, circling a perked nipple as her own hips continued to chase another release with the dragon,breathing deeply past her tongue against sensitive flesh, "Jin… more… give me more…"
She could only nod, whimpering as that tongue teased her nipples and flesh. A hand crept between them, tucking down past drenched folds until two fingers slipped into velvety wetness, curling in their thrusts and the back of her hand giving herself something to press her own bundle of nerves into. The owl's hips rolled into her fingers, each thrust stroking past the front wall and against the puffy ridged spot, pulling moans from the owl with each pass. Jin grinded desperately into her own hand, matching each thrust of her hips to her fingers, whining with lips locked around a nipple and sucked, feeling every moan as it vibrated against her skin, growing closer and closer to the edge.
Teeth tugged her nipple lightly and talons dragged across her biceps and it was suddenly too much, body going rigid as she felt herself falling over the edge of bliss, reeling as the sound of Spadix joining her filled her ears and talons dug deeper until they were both coming down in each other's embrace. Jin kissed along old scars at Spadix's shoulder, listening to her let out soft sounds in response, "mmmm Morning Golden Dragon… So glad this wasn't some dream…"
Jin chuckled lightly, nuzzling into Spadix's face with her own, "I feel like I should be saying that to you. And what a way to start my day too."
There it was. A glimpse of something Jin was more familiar with as Spadix's face turned pink and she turned it shyly away for a moment, moving a talon to her lips and nibbling it, "Ah yes well… I tried to wake you first but you refused to get up and I couldn't wait…"
The sight sparked old energy in her beast and she let out a growl, catching Spadix's shiver in response and feeling her beast curve to make room for Jin's alpha presence as the dragon pulled Spadix into a full embrace, "God I've missed seeing you perched on top of me like that."
Spadix gave a weirded face at the feeling of all her release against her own skin that was on Jin, now cold from the air, "eh… I didn't expect to react so much to what you said… it was different…"
She turned brighter red as Jin took her ear in her teeth and nibbled softly, "Alphas love it. And you were presenting so I just wanted to please you."
Spadix tucked her face hidden into Jin's neck with a whimper clinging to her, giving warning bites against the skin to distract Jin, "Jinnnn…down girl…"
They stayed cuddled up in bed for a while, talking about the mission Spadix had to go on with Scarlet today. She didn't really seem to want to go but Jin couldn't tell if it was because of the fox or because Jin wasn't going. As Spadix peeled herself from Jin to get washed and dressed, Jin wrapped her hand around the rat tail of hair and gave a playful tug, Spadix squealing lightly as she fell back into Jin's lap, staring up. Jin gave a wicked grin, fingers trailing down to run through the mess Spadix had left on her skin, watching the way Spadix squirmed and bit her lip, "Shower alone. I'm going to keep you on me a bit longer until after you two leave. Let her smell you all over me. Would you like that Little Bird?"
The deep sharp inhale the owl gave in response and the more primal shudder from deep within was all Jin needed to know that Spadix was going to love that. She leaned forward and placed a kiss on her love's lips, feeling Spadix tuck hair behind her ear before she pushed the owl towards the shower.
Gunner was already in the kitchen when Jin got down, noticing his nose twitch at her presence but choosing to say nothing. He was no longer a teen or kid anymore so she didn't feel the need to shelter him and knew he wouldn't say anything. Over the years she had gotten much more used to the way faunus behaved here and realized most just didn't comment on one's sexual affairs or scents. It was such a common thing to notice scents of others on people for any given reason and considered extremely uncouth to say anything.
He held out breakfast to her with a soft smile and she chuckled, "Make a second plate? She's still here."
He turned to the stove then around again with another plate, "I already did."
Jin just smiled at him before sitting to wait for Spadix. In the end she had decided not to go on this mission with them for a few reasons but the main one was that she didn't want Spadix to have to be subjected to herself and Scarlet at the same time so suddenly, Especially when Spadix was clearly irritable about the fox and Jin. Gunner sat with her and his own plate, "Will she be staying?"
Jin's smile was the warmest he had ever seen on her face before, "Yes. And I think soon more surprises will come too. Are you alright with that?"
He had lived here with Jin for seven years and he had watched her wasting away but to see her so happy was something he was glad for, had waited for, "We are family now aren't we? Of course it's alright."
He finished up his food as Spadix was walking in, glancing at him, "Oh… hello…."
"Gunner. Pleasure. I'll be going to work in the garden but feel free to leave the dishes in the sink and I'll get to them later," he answered with a nod and set his empty plate in the sink before putting his hat on his head and going out the back door.
Spadix watched him curiously as Jin lanced her fingers with her own and gently pulled Spadix to sit with her, "He was caring for the place before I moved here. He's become more like a little brother but he does live here. Nothing to worry about though he is just family."
Spadix nodded and released Jin's hand to eat. The two were a bit playful with their meal, Jin occasionally sneaking affections at the owl that made her giggle and push the dragon away with a blush. The moment interrupted with a familiar presence in the archway to the area inside. Scarlet had let herself in, out of habit more than anything else, and was grinning at the two, tail swaying lightly, "Well aren't you two precious?"
Instantly, the mood in the room shifted. Jin felt it first. Spadix's face grew taunt and her inner beast seemed to blaze with rage and could hear the low warning sounds she had in her throat. Amber eyes shifted to look at Scarlet who stopped approaching when the sounds started but was still grinning with a curious, amused gleam in her eyes. Scarlet's gear was fairly revealing in many places, some of it due to her nature but some of it due to the climate. Jin was at least thankful in this instantly tense moment that the shirt, while cut off at the base of the ribs, had enough of a collar to it to hide her marked neck. It would have only made this moment a lot more uncomfortable right now.
Jin watched the two carefully, noticing Scarlet's nostrils flare and sure it was the scent of Spadix on her that she was smelling as those emerald eyes locked with the swirled orbs of Spadix and neither were backing down. Spadix looked away first, the noise in her throat dying under Scarlet's unmoveable alpha energy, and got up, leaning over to make a very possessive show of kissing Jin deeply goodbye, saliva trailing when she pulled away, leaving Jin's brain swooning with a light pant.
Spadix ran her shoulder into the fox on her way towards the door, "Let's go. Those kids need help."
Emerald eyes watched her make her way towards the front door before they turned back to Jin, watching her rubbing the light trail off her chin, "She's still so interesting isn't she?"
"Scarlet…" Jin warned but the fox held up a hand.
"Relax. I'll behave. I'm not interested in causing either of you any trouble."
Jin felt a pang of guilt at the way Scarlet's face seemed to be hiding some pain behind her smile. It was her own fault really but nothing Scarlet hadn't openly welcomed. Still, she had known better and yet here was the aftermath. Scarlet was now a marked faunus walking around 'abandoned' by the one who marked her and that came with lasting effects for the rest of their lives. Jin could release her but for some reason, she didn't want to. Maybe it was selfishness, maybe it was because she knew Scarlet wouldn't want that, but she just couldn't bring herself to do it even if she was quite happy having Spadix back with no real reason to want Scarlet to be around.
As if Scarlet could tell, she went to reach out but then pulled her hand back, thinking better of touching the dragon in any way right now, "Stop that. It's fine. I'm fine. I'm just glad you're happy again."
Before Jin could say anything, Spadix was angrily shouting at the fox from the front door and Scarlet sighed with a chuckle, "Duty calls. I'm sure we'll be back in a few days."
Jin slouched into her chair when Scarlet and Spadix were gone, lowering her head into her arms. It was entirely selfish. She didn't want to release her mark on the fox for all these reasons. Scarlet was kind to her, took care of her when no one else was, made her feel whole about her damaged face, and willingly took a back seat to her true emotions even while falling for the dragon. She had spent many nights listening to Jin's heart ache over so many things at random over the years, even when it was about the owl and that could not have felt good for the fox, but she never showed any resentment. Spent days helping Jin back to her feet in drunken stupors or complete depressed downers. Kept Jin satisfied in the worst times and the best times and made the pain over these years so much easier to deal with and never once complained or tried to take Spadix's place, never tried to mark Jin or convince her.
Jin was undeniably in love with her bonded mate but that didn't stop any of the love she had learned to have for the fox over time either. While it was no way near comparable to her owl, it still felt like something important that she couldn't bring herself to give up yet even if it was just something as selfish as leaving her mark on the fox. She wasn't sure how long it would take but she hoped one day Spadix wouldn't feel threatened and at the very least she and Scarlet could be friends.

The trip beyond the outer wilds of the town was very tense, Scarlet and Spadix not speaking the entire way and the tension very high. Scarlet could tell Spadix was not happy to be around her and she wasn't surprised in any way really. If the roles had been reversed she would probably have tried to fight Spadix by now so she was more impressed at the restraint than anything else.
The first day was difficult and they managed to find the area where the children were but ended up having to fall back some, unable to get to them the first time. Instead, they took in intel and observed the situation long enough before nightfall and built camp far enough away to not cause alarm. As they sat with a small fire, Scarlet noticed Spadix constantly eyeing her neck and sighed, reaching up and pulling back the high collar to reveal the mate mark from Jin on her skin, her voice soft, "This what you are looking for yes?"
Spadix growled a bit on instinct but then forced herself to calm down, eyes staring at the mark with jealous fury, "I guess I was hoping it would fade now…"
Scarlet let go and fixed her shirt, leaning on her palm with her chin, "I'm not sure myself really. But then, I've never seen one released before so I don't know how it works. Either way I wouldn't be concerned if I were you. I'm not a threat I assure you. I have no interest in getting in your way."
Spadix wished she could just believe that and let it go but her beast refused, puffing up within her some and flexing its energy at Scarlet, though the fox was unphased, eyes gleaming in the firelight almost dangerously as she grinned, "Stop while you're ahead little owl. We need to work together to save those kids. If you keep trying to press my beast I can't be responsible for what it does to you."
Spadix flared for a bit before the feeling of Scarlet's overwhelming energy backed her down, "I'm getting sleep."
Scarlet watched her turn in before putting out the fire with a soft chuckle, "Still interesting indeed. She'd be fun if she were free to play with."

In the morning, the two managed to free the few orphans from the natives without too much trouble, starting the march back to town. It was taking a while, the kids were scared and tired. During a break, Spadix was trying to sooth one of the very young children as Scarlet got some food for the others made, sitting to watch Spadix after. The owl had the toddler in her lap, holding him and helping soothe his tears. When he calmed, curling into Spadix, Scarlet smiled, "You are good at that you know. You would make a good mom."
Spadix's cheeks dusted pink briefly before she recovered her composure, rubbing his back and watching him carefully to make sure he wasn't going to get fussy again, "I'm considering it."
The words stung Scarlet a little in a way she hadn't expected, but she didn't reveal it and Spadix didn't notice it, "Have you talked to her about it yet?"
"I have. When we get back I want to actually discuss it further with her, not that it's any of your business," Spadix's voice was sharp.
With a slight airly chuckle, Scarlet shrugged, "You have me there. Well. When we get back, I'll get these kids to the right people then so you can go see your dragon. I'm sure she's already missing you."
It was hard for Spadix to tell if Scarlet was trying to be nice or if it was a defensive response but she didn't comment on it, instead narrowing her eyes a bit before getting the kids together once they were done eating. Scarlet stood true to her word, taking the few kids and calling Indi to get things figured out as Spadix left to return to Jin. When she walked through the door, a hand snagged her and pulled her close, wrapped in warm arms and receiving an abundance of nuzzles and kisses along her face, "I hated that… don't leave again…"
Spadix clung close to the skin brimming with heat and closed her eyes. She had dreamed of a moment in time where she could finally just come home to Jin at the end of a long day. The dragon interrupted her ease by lifting her into her arms, Spadix yelping in surprise before wrapping her legs around Jin's waist, staring down into amber eyes and sliding her arms around her shoulders, lips pressing passionately to lips as Jin walked them to a bath.
The water felt amazing on her sore body as Jin lowered her into the heat, climbing in behind her and holding her close, the two simply relaxing, Jin rubbing out the tired muscles in Spadix's body. The way strong hands worked knots and aches from Spadix's muscles made her brain reel, leaning into Jin more as she practically melted. Her eyes watched the water around their knees and she let some run through her fingers as she raised her hand from the water, thinking about the kids today and her talk with Scarlet. She nibbled on a talon, "Jin… let's go figure out what we have to do to have our own baby tomorrow?"
The dragon nuzzled into her neck, placing soft kisses along the skin, "That would be wonderful."
Spadix swooned, inner beast excited and easily aroused at the idea of possibly stirring Jin's alpha back up again. She pulled away a bit and turned to Jin, leaning over Jin's body and lowering herself onto Jin's lap, hands tracing up muscle to sweetly grasp her face, "Want to practice?"
The entice growling from Jin's throat as hands pulled Spadix against herself made the owl shiver, a sultry voice in her ear causing a gasp from her lips, "all night long."
Jin's teeth nipped her ear lobe and Spadix whined, eager for the promise of what was to come.
