His father walked in.
"The villain has been taken into custody. Your having to share credit with that girl-that friend of yours. I was told you'll both make a full recovery." He was awkward in his delivery. Trying to say the right things. He should not be here.
"The doctors said the child looked healthy..."
If Shouto spoke he didn't know what would come out of his mouth so he kept silence. Endeavor would leave if he just didn't say anything.
"It's not the worst time in your career to have a child. Your sister and I can look after him while you return to work as soon as possible."
Shouto was very cold. Frost brushed his lips.
"You need to not let this distract you. You've been on the verge of breaking into the top ten several times-"
Shouto was very hot deep inside. It burned his stomach and spilled out his throat.
"Do you think I care? Not all of us are so damn obsessed with their job-" Flames licked his fingertips, but maybe if he could just scream they wouldn't grow. If he could push the rage and fire out in his words he could become comfortably numb, but Endeavor would not allow such a thing. No Endeavor was always able to shout louder than him.
"Do not interrupt me! Your childishness-" How dare he be angry? How dare he believe he has a right to anything? A right to be heard, a right to speak to him, a right to his child?
"Get out!" Half the room was icing over while his fire melted the metal on the bed. He didn't want to hate his father, but how dare he? Sometimes he understood Toyua. Sometimes he wished Endeavor was dead.
"GET OUT!" He shouted again louder. He was destroying the room, but he didn't care. His father looked taken a back as if he had no idea what he had said to cause such an outburst. How dare he look like that. How dare he ever pretend to be a victim?
"I WILL NEVER BE YOU! GET AWAY FROM ME!" The door opened right when he through a fireball in his old man's face.
Endeavor tanked it of course, but didn't expect the sound attack to shoot him in the back. Watching him fall to the floor with a look of stupid surprise on his face cut through his own rage.
"Shouto!" Jiro called from the doorway.
"Are you alright?" She eyed Endeavor suspiciously as he got to his feet. Ear jacks plugged into her speakers in a fighters stance. It was soothing. He wasn't alone. She would fight with him.
Endeavor started to say his name, but Shouto was finished with this conversation.
"Make him leave." He turned away and iced over the flames in the room, then observed the ruined medical equipment. It would be expensive, but the idea of making his father pay for it wasn't enough to soothe him. He ignored the sounds of Jiro bullying Endeavor from the room.
He drifted for a while after that and came back to himself to the sound of singing.
Jiro had a beautiful voice, but preferred to play instruments in her band. It was rare to hear her sing, but she sat on the end of his bed and sang to him.
It was something he didn't recognize in english, something soft, perhaps a lullaby? It helped. She finished her song while staring at the door. Either embarrassed, or on guard for more unwanted guests? Jiro turned to him after the last note faded.
"Momo is awake now, eating a few pizzas. We saved the noodles for you if your hungry."
He was more tired than hungry, but he joined them anyway. Nodding off into his bowl of soba while listening to them talk. Something about Jiro having one of her band T-Shirts made into a baby onesie. It was a cute thought.

"He can't stay in that house." Jiro said firmly as soon as Shouto's breathing evened out.
"Really? I know he has been having some problems with his father recently, but I didn't think it was that bad at the moment?" Momo asked considering.
"Bad enough. There was a scene earlier. You should ask him about it."
Momo quickly ate 3 more slices of pizza as she thought.
"I've been staying with my parents when I'm not at the agency, but I've been meaning to get my own place. Do you think he would want to get a place together?"
"I guess that depends on if he would find help with the kid a relief or if the idea of you two being all domestic would make him freak out about relationships on top of his baby panic?"
"I don't think that's a consideration of his at the moment. Although he may become concerned with it in the future I think moving in together would be best for the short term. We can hire a nanny of course, but considering how high profile we both are I would feel better if one of us was home with the child most of the time."
"How is that going to work by the way? Aren't you working insane hours right now?"
"Well I'm going to have to take a leave until child is born if nothing else. The Creator Agency will just have to run without me. After that? I suppose we will have to cross that bridge when we come to it." Momo grimaced putting things off was not her preferred method.
Which was why when Shouto woke up long after Jiro had left, she had roughly a dozen links to houses for sell on her phone. She had also made a check list of things Shouto would need to know from the doctors and was in a text conversation with Bakugou about baby essentials.
He was being very insensitive to the matter at hand, but also quite useful. Bakugou was probably the main reason Kaminari survived caring for a baby without having a mental breakdown no matter how unpleasant it sometimes was dealing with him.
"I don't want them to visit again."
"Hm?" She was startled from her conversation (argument) with Bakugou about brands of baby formal having not realised Shouto was awake.
"Your father you mean?" He nodded.
"And Fuyumi. I can't...it's not fair to her, but..." He looked troubled.
"No one will visit you don't want here. I'll call her if want?"
"Thank you." He sounded defeated. Jiro was most likely correct about him not being able to go home when he had the child.
"I spoke to the doctors briefly. They want you to stay here until the child is born. Everything seems healthy, but because your pregnancy was caused by a quirk they do consider it high risk."
"Right. Makes sense."
"When you are able to leave with the child-" He visibly tensed, questions were just going to stress him out at this point.
"We should know where we're going. Kaminari is living in a nice neighborhood now. It's a bit far from my agency, but they have good schools and it's not too far from yours. There are a few houses available there."
"Oh?" He relaxed into a simple confusion and she heaved herself out of bed and into his so she could better show him the houses.
"It's a bit small of course, only 8 bedrooms, but it is enough for some guests, and for us to each have our own office. I like this one because the master bedroom connects directly into another room which would be ideal for a nursery."
It's surprisingly comfortable squeezed in next to Shouto. He rests his head on her shoulder as they look at houses. The more she talks about their future shared space the calmer he gets.
She's feels a little like she's steam rolling over him since she hasn't technically asked him if he wanted to move in together, but this is the most logical thing to do and he isn't objecting to it. Shouto has always been one of her favorite people to work with. He trust in her plans, but never hesitates to add to them or point something out she hasn't thought of. If he didn't want this she can trust that he would tell her.
" Oh, but do you want to live somewhere more traditional? I know your used to-"
"No. I like those houses. The second one is really nice." She smiled at him. That was one of her favorites as well.
"I'll set up an appointment with the realtor. Do you want me to wait for you to be able to go with me? If not I can get the house mostly set up so we can move right in after the brith. It's no trouble to set us up in a hotel if you want to be there to pick things out?"
"Ah...no that's...fine." He made a very strange expression.
"Shouto?" For a moment she thought of all the things that could be going wrong with a quirk made pregnancy.
"Is it supposed to move?" He lifted his shirt to narrow his eyes at his stomach as if it had betrayed him.
"Um...I think so. Babies do kick." Momo was sure she had read about that somewhere.
"How do I make it stop?" She didn't know, but was sure a nurse or doctor would and they were easily called in.
Shouto was very unimpressed when he was told there was nothing he could take that would make the child stop trying to break out of his stomach.
"Parents are usually excited to feel the baby kick. It means he's strong and healthy." A nurse offered unhelpfully.
"When is it being removed?" The nurse looked uncomfortable at his no nonsense tone.
"I believe the doctor wanted to do a more thorough examination before determining that." Momo intervened before Shouto could start working the nurse into tears. He was not the kindest to strangers when he was irate.
"If we could get that scheduled as soon as possible we would appreciate it." She smiled politely as the nurse excused herself and turned back to Shouto. It was rather fascinating to watch his stomach move like that, however she wasn't surprised he found it off putting.
"May I?" With his consent she placed her hand on the area the child was attacking and rubbed it gently. He was likely to become sore if the baby kept that up.
Shouto sighed and relaxed against her.
"Momo?"
"Yes?"
"What if it hates me?"
"He won't."
"What if I kill it?"
"Shouto we are both Pro Heros and we have done much harder things than caring for a baby. I promise you we are not going to kill him."
"Okay. Momo?"
"Yes Shouto?"
"Thanks."
"Your welcome."
