The entertainment industry is gruelling and an unforgiving world to be a part of. It is an area of conquest, hard work and luck. Some are gifted with the ability to act, the voice to sing, the touch to paint or the insight to direct. These are what we call geniuses. People cut above the large percentage and able to shine like a star while those of ordinary talents are destined to stay at the bottom and unable to be seen at the apex.

'Me? I'm not special. Far from it but that's why… I am here.' Stepping out of the airport, I raised my hands to block the sunshine.

Taking a second to adjust to the brightness, I lowered my hand back to my side and looked around to find a free taxi. In long vanilla pants, a wisteria-coloured shirt and a G-shock watch, I had finally arrived in Japan, Tokyo, with excitement and trepidation. Tugging on my suitcase and rolling my shoulders, feeling a pop in my shoulders, my eyes landed on an incoming taxi. Silver eyes shone in recognition before waving my hand.

"Thank you, mind if I put my luggage in the trunk?" I asked, bending over to speak with the driver through the down window.

"Of course sir." The Japanese man nodded his head before exiting his car and walking to the trunk.

I followed in suit and by the time I had arrived he already opened the trunk.

"I'll take that for you." I smiled at the polite working man and handed him my luggage.

He returned the smile in kind. He grabbed the suitcase's handle and attempted to lift it up, but he couldn't lift it more than a millimetre. He turned to stare at me, his face contorted with surprise and shock, causing a minor disturbance among others watching by the drop off area. I chuckled uneasily, blushing from the weight.

"haha…ha. I'll uh… help you with that." I stood next to him before assisting the Japanese man.

After much struggle, we were finally able to hoist the heavy luggage and cruise into the centre of the city. I was sitting in the rear of the taxi, admiring the view of the beautiful metropolis of Japan outside the window. I propped up my cheek with my fist and rested my arm on the door, lost in thought.

This was a new chapter of my life. I could only hope I can not only survive the entertainment industry but thrive in it as long as I can. Smiling, i felt a rising excitement in my chest and the potential in the future.

"Glad to be back home?" The taxi driver asked, causing me to blink and look over at him.

"Oh, haha no. I'm not a native Japanese. I am an Australian." I explained with a smile, sitting up and relaxing my body.

"Oh, forgive me sir. I shouldn't have assumed." From the rear-view mirror, I could see the taxi driver looking awkward.

I chuckled slightly, raising the atmosphere by addressing his words.

"Its fine. But if you're still feeling bad then apology accepted." I had already expected this type of situation because of my Asian looks.

Back in Australia, I was living in Queensland with my older brother and little sister with our uncle and his family. It was quite a surprise to them when I said I was offered an exchange program for Japan's acting Industry because of my skills and talents. Naturally, everyone wanted me to take it, but I had my reservations about leaving my home.

"You're too kind. If I may ask, what brings you to Japan?" looking up at his rear-view mirror, I had hummed myself to that question.

"I'm an Arts exchange student. The school I'm now enrolled in is known for producing tons of skilled and talented actors." I explained, enjoying this small talk while we were driving to my destination.

It took some time, but I eventually accepted the program and entered Japan's top school for students looking to get into the entertainment industry, Yoto High school. I was offered a generous scholarship for my entire education here in Japan, so I don't have to worry about school fees. They were also kind enough to rent me an apartment room for my first year before I had to pay for it myself.

"I see. I must say that your Japanese is great. It's why I mistook you for a native and I know that many others will too." The driver laughed heartily which I couldn't help but let out an entertained huff.

"I know. The best thing I can do is endure." I slumped, already feeling the exhaustion of repeating myself again and again in the future.

Honestly, if it were up to me, I wouldn't have gone. I love travelling, in fact this is the first time I travelled outside of Australia and seeing Tokyo in its entirety is amazing, but I never planned in staying In such places. I loved my home and decided to retire their once I was done achieving everything I wanted.

Once again, the car goes silent as I was absorbed into the city scape. The ride was comfortable, and, in its duration, it felt like an eternity.

"Alright, here's your stop." Nodding to myself, we both stepped out and headed to the trunk to once again, heave my suitcase out with great effort.

"Thank you." I had just paid the fee and bowed to the driver who waved it off casually.

"Its my job. First tip, No need to bow at someone doing their job here in Japan." He explained.

Tilting my head, I smiled and nodded.

"Right, thanks. Oh, I know we might not see each other again but my name's Hayden Xiong." I said, placing a hand on my hip.

"Its nice to meet you Xiong-san. I'm Nagi Matakuri." Nagi nodded his head at me before giving me a wave and driving away.

Smiling to myself for a few moments before letting everything sink in. This is all real. I'm standing here in Tokyo to attend a prestigious school for entertainers.

'This is out of my league.' I thought despondent to my surroundings, but I shook my head before turning around to see the massive apartment complex before me.

This was to be my new home for the next couple of years it seems and if so, might as well get use to this. From what I've seen and asked from my drive, I'm living in the more modern area of Tokyo as was evident by how tall this building was. From the ground up, it seemed a good 15 to 20 storeys high and in good condition.

No longer dallying outside of the sun, I pulled up the handle and began dragging the cinder block that was my suitcase. Opening the door, I was greeted by a cool breeze from the nearby AC and the sounds of a jingle from the door chime.

"Now that's nice." I muttered to myself as my eyes scanned the lobby area.

The room was fairly small. The reception desk and its attendant were located at the opposite end of the entrance. To the right was a wall filled with laminated paintings which were no doubt copies of the original masterpiece while to the left was a seating area for guest. Hearing the chimes of the bells being run, the attendant turned her eyes from her computer to me.

"Hello. How can I help you today?" The woman said with practiced ease.

"Hi. I'm Hayden Xiong. I should have a apartment room 165 reserved for me?" I set down my luggage gently as the lady began searching me.

"Oh yes. Hayden Xiong, foreign exchange student from Australia. It's a pleasure having you Xiong-san" The woman polite and formal greeting somewhat put me off.

I wasn't use to all this politeness from strangers but here in Japan, it's a inbuilt custom for them. From what I heard and read about Japan and its culture, it's a value to have such incorrigible traits. Chuckling nervously, I had no doubt that my face was scrunching in awkwardness.

"Uh right. The pleasure is mine for having me. Thank you." I nodded my head at the lady attendant.

She was able read my plight and gave a kind smile. Reaching down under the desk, she was pulled out a access card for my door. Sliding it on the counter and towards me, I picked it up and examined it back to front.

"This will be your key to access your apartment room, so keep it safe and protected. Should you lose it, we have a spare but know that any further losses will have to result in you paying." She noted which I all but absorbed.

"Right, thank you once again." Flashing her a smile before turning my head to the left where the lobby lead to a hallway.

At the end was two sets of elevators which I was thankful for. I didn't want to carry my heavy luggage up a staircase less I want to break my back or fall down the stairs. Pressing the button and waiting for the elevator, it opened to reveal a clean tile black floor with mirrored walls with handlebars. Stepping in, I pressed floor 13 causing the door to close and the elevator to travel upwards.

Leaning my back against the mirror and dipping my head down, I began contemplating my new life here once again. This was a first step into my new life here in Japan. Back at home, I studied their language as much as I could, but I know there are still some nuances that I need to learn. Especially for the industry if I'm going to be an actor.

"An actor huh…" I whispered.

Hearing the ding of the elevator shook me out of my deep thoughts. Leaning off the mirror, I grabbed the handle of my suitcase and began dragging it out. The layout was different than I had expected with the hallways being T shaped. Walking out and looking to the Left, right and centre, I pulled out my keycard and looked at it again.

It had gold embellishments and was immaculate and white. On the surface, it was the name of the apartment building, but upon closer inspection, it appeared more like to an exclusive hotel. As they say, "rights make rights," therefore I choose to start with the right. Fortunately, it was accurate because my door was located besides the window that looked out over all of Tokyo at the end of the corridor.

Seeing the number 165 on the door and on the wall next to it having my family name in English, I couldn't help the amused half smile creeping onto my face. Tapping the card against the door handle, I heard the click open. Pulling down on the handle, I entered my new home with renewed excitement.

"Woah…" I was astonished by how modest this place was.

The arrangement inside was breathtaking, and I was met right away by a flowery velvet scent that engulfed me like a warm hug. The kitchen was to the left as you entered the hallway, followed by a balcony with a Longtable and chairs, and the living room was rather wide with an L-shaped sofa facing a 20-inch TV screen.

I stepped forward, removing my shoes, and felt the cool, smooth tiles against my rough feet. Accepting this friendly ambience, I walked into the living room and placed my luggage by the coffee table between the couch and television. Swivelling my head left and right, memorising this place down in my memory, I couldn't help but be grateful to my sponsor.

As you enter the apartment, there were three areas. One was the living room with the kitchen. This area was large enough to install a kitchen which I was relieved to have. I didn't want to uber my food, not like I used the app that much anyways. Upon further discovery however, I noticed there were two showers. One in the living room if you go as you enter the apartment.

Two was the door further to the left of the room which was my bedroom. The bedroom contained a king-sized bed, a closet for my use, and another shower on the left as you entered. The balcony space spanned between the living room and here, which surprised me, but thankfully, I already had drapes in place for privacy in case I had guests around. The balcony is the last location and the most interesting portion of the property.

As I observed before, the balcony can be accessed by opening the glass doors. It was long enough to place a long table and chairs as it stretched from the entire apartment building. Now standing on the balcony and leaning on the glass pane rails saving me for falling over to my doom, I was granted a beautiful view of the setting sun over the city.

"Perks of the privilege few, huh B." I gazed out alone with my thoughts again until I felt my stomach rumble.

Sighing, I pushed off the glass pane and entered the living room. heading into the kitchen, I began Looking at the cupboards and drawers to see what I was working. Expectedly, there was no food so I gotta go shopping but there were some basic kitchen utensils that I could use but I should go buy some more in case. After organising the kitchen, I stand up and eyed my suitcase.

"Guess I'll do you first." Walking over to the couch, I sat on it before attending to my luggage inside.

It took a while, but I began organising the cinder block that was my suitcase. Inside was clothing, necessities, books, laptop, toothbrush, toilet paper, hand sanitiser and finally-

"There. Done." I sighed tiredly as I finally pulled out the last part of my PC.

Yeah, I brought my gaming PC from Australia. Mostly because I needed it to study and available as it held my official documents and resume. Not because I want to play Games like L*ague of L*gends or Hon*ai Im*act and St*r R*il. No, definitely not.

Anyways back to it, I decided to order uber to my place, but it took me a good minute to decide what to get before ordering just some takeout noodles. In the meantime, I began placing my Pc parts together in my bedroom. Luckily there was enough room to have a desk in here, but I'll deal with it later in the week.

After a good hour of arranging, the sun had set, welcoming the darkness into my space. After turning on the lights, I finished assembling my gaming PC.

"Whoo. Man, that was a trip back to the past." I smiled as I grabbed a towel, wiping my brow.

Ring Ring*

Looking down at my phone, I saw the notification that my food had arrived. Stretching my limbs I heard someone knocking on my door.

"Coming!" I said in English letting out a satisfied grunt.

Opening the door, I was greeted by the uber and paid 2400 Yen or the equivalent of $24 AUS. Yen was a thing I had to get use to as well. The currency really isn't all that confusing for me as $1 is equivalent to 100 yen roughly. The real problem was that I needed to manage the money I saved up these past years working part time and to either find a job here or get work as a freelance actor.

"Thank you." I said in Japanese before closing my door and entering my kitchen.

I placed the noodles on the counter, took them out of the plastic bag, and opened the lid. I rummaged back inside the plastic bag and got the broth from inside a plastic dish before pouring it onto the noodles. Nodding to myself with a small smile, I couldn't help but be drawn by the sweet succulent aroma. Closing my eyes, I clasped my hands together.

"Itadaki…masu?" I tilted my head slightly at the traditional way in eating in Japan but figured its best to enjoy and respect the small things here.

I began my week shopping and exploring the area, finding nearby shops and restaurants and taking note of things from asking questions. As expected, many were surprised by my status as foreigner once I began asking questions about the culture and what not to do here and there. Apparently, when taking an escalator or stairs, you always leave the right side open for anyone in a rush or that if you are in a subway train, its expected of you to not make any noises and keep to yourself.

I was lucky enough to have some kind people tell me before I doing said things myself. After that, I spent a few more days looking for furniture within my budget to make my new home livelier which spelt the real dilemma. How was I going to get it up there? The rare consequence of having an apartment was the trouble of transporting furniture.

Luckily, all I needed was a desk and a few more chairs. So, I had bought some furniture that were on sale and could be built when I got home. I had to make a couple of runs back and forth, but I was able to get everything inside. The lobby lady was flabbergasted from what I could tell due to my new… arrangements that I brought inside, and she asked if I needed help.

"No, I'm fine thanks. I should be able to handle this and I have some experience with these kinds of things anyways." I declined to which she nodded her head in acceptance.

"Very well, Xiong-san but if you do need help, call the lobby, and I'll send someone to assist you." She offered to which I nodded my head as I continued bringing in my furniture.

As soon as I got everything inside, I overestimated how much stamina was needed because all that carrying and holding made me deathly tired and hungry. So, I had to forego building my furniture on the day and do it the next. Up and early around 6, due to my internal clock I had since I was child, I began working on building my chairs and desk. It took a few hours into the morning, but I managed to finish it around noon.

I placed the chairs outside on the balcony to add more seats to the long table. Before it had been able to hold 6 people but with the new addition, 10 was currently the best I can do. As for my desk, I figured to have it in between the window to the balcony and my bed so that way it doesn't get in between my closet or shower while also not in the way of the glass door into my bedroom.

The last few days were spent exploring, studying or gaming until however, the first day of my Japanese high school. Back in Australia, I had just finished grade 11 and would have proceeded to 12 if I had stayed. Here in Japan however, Japan intended for me to repeat basically grade 10 and 11 again or the first and second year of high school. There were some complaints from my family saying that I should be in the last year, but they couldn't do it due to their strict policies.

Tugging on my tie, adjusting it to be centre, I looked back at myself once again. My black, short, combed back hair resumed with its wavy style, my body snugging the uniform nice and fitting and my collar comforting my neck and not harshly rubbed against it.

"Geez, I can never keep this straight I swear." I muttered lowly as I ran a hand through my wavy hair.

Honestly, I was never really against it but the real problem is that by the time I finished high school, I would be 20 which doesn't sound good now that I think about. I shook my head before once more having a look over at the uniform.

"It'll have to do." After I was satisfied with how I looked, I began grabbing my stuff for today.

First thing I grabbed was my phone and remembered why I was an actor in the first place. Turning on my phone and looking at my lockscreen of my phone. It was a family photo of Me, my little sister and older brother together as children while our mum and dad were hovering behind us with a loving and happy smile.

"My first day, Mum and Dad. Let's just hope I don't muck it up." Nodding at myself with a smile, I grabbed my phone and walked out of the bathroom.

Grabbing my new backpack with all my school gear, my wallet with my identification and card key and finally my G-shock watch and equipping it on my left wrist. Leaving my apartment, I began to walk into a new chapter of my life.

Yoto Highschool is a distinguished and decorated educational place for young and promising stars in the entertainment industry. Many students in the acting classes already had their toes dipped into the industry whether it be photoshoots, films, theatres or music. Everyone here has some experience or connections and entering this course will only propel them forward in their career.

The walk to school wasn't too long, a mere 20 minutes really but it was hard remembering all the streets and crosses but I had made it. I found myself walking a wide path with Sakura trees to the left and benches bolted down underneath. Up ahead, however, were the gates of the Yoto Highschool.

"Look Look Aqua. There's Yoto High! Can you believe it? We're really here!"

"Stop making a large fuss, Ruby."

Two blonde students had walked past me side by side, as I became enamoured by their natural beauty and presence. They had luscious blonde hair, wearing the same uniform as mine that snugged nicely against their frames and their natural beauty was something else from the single glance I got.

I've been with the industry for quite some time, but I never really saw anyone outstanding during my time in Australia. Mostly because it wasn't a good place to create Stars unless you were aiming for It like Chris Hemsworth or Hugh Jackman. But this wasn't a deterrent, no it was merely the opposite.

'So, these are the types of people I'm in enrolled with?' An almost manic grin spread on my face as I couldn't help but feel the excitement bumping in my chest.

Shaking my head and calming down my beating heart, I stepped forward with an even stride. A small smile remained on my face as my silver eyes were dead set on the backs of those in front of me. I may not belong here, but I refuse to not leave my mark.

With that said, the beginning day was normal for any school. Entering the school grounds, we were all immediately gathered into the hall for our inductions where the teachers and principals would do their speeches, praying for our future success into our careers whatever they may be.

It wouldn't be too long before we were organised into our classrooms but after the induction I decided to take a short bathroom break, washing my hands before walking to class. Honestly, Japanese classes and schools were a whole new world for me. Normally, back in my school at least, we were allowed to wear whatever shoes we wanted but here if you were to bring any shoes, they were to be locked up in your locker while you were expected to wear your school shoes.

Not only that apparently since this was the first day of school, but there was also no need to bring in your school gear as we would be given a summary of each subject and event Calander year by our homeroom teacher.

"I'm just being bombarded by these culture shocks." I sighed as I finally made my way to my classroom before I stopped.

Blinking, I saw that same beautiful girl from earlier but unlike her excited cheer from earlier, she had a contemplative face by the closed door of 1-F. Smiling, I couldn't but share the sentiment yet mess around with her a bit.

"Keep looking like that and your face will grow wrinkles." Jolting out of her thoughts Ruby jumped at the voice.

"Wh-what?" I couldn't help but chuckle at her jumpy reaction.

"Sorry, its just, you look liked a statue so I figured why not help you with a surprise." I explained, smiling at her which she returned in kind.

"Why aren't you going in? Scared of making a bad first impression?"

"Uhhaha. No No No, its not what you think. I definitely didn't want to embarrass myself here in front of all these new people who'll possibly be famous one day. Yeah No…haha…" Her voice mellowed out from her frantic explanation.

"You nervous?" I stood next to her and tilted my head with a smile.

Her ruby eyes looked into my silver, thinking how to answer before giving a small nod. Seeing her endearing, honest response, I was about to encourage her into simply giving it her all but she beat me to it.

"No time like the present though." She opened the door instantly after, causing me to blink.

Shaking my head in amusement, I followed her in and noticed her enamoured expression. Looking around, I couldn't help but be drawn into the sheer amount of beautiful people in one spot as well.

"Woooow. On my right, beautiful girls. On my left, hot guys." Ruby muttered in the sea of students.

I was barely able to make out what she said before I chuckled at her response. Realising she said her thoughts out loud Ruby blushed slightly before coughing into her hands in embarrassment.

"Come, lets go find our seats." I stepped ahead of her.

"Ah wait." Picking her speed Ruby walked in tow with me to the back of the classroom.

Ruby sat down in the far corner of the room next to the window while I sat in front of her. Looking around, I saw everyone zoned into their own conversation, so I figured I do the same before the homeroom teacher came in. Turning around, intent to introduce myself to the blonde girl I saw her eyes drifting to another student with her mouth agape. Tilting my head in confusion, I followed her line of sight before realising she was looking at another girl's large bust.

"Oh, goodness me. Sorry for starin'." The pink hair girl said in a thick accent.

Blushing, I immediately turned my eyes to her pink irises. I was glad I wasn't caught; I didn't want to be known as a pervert on my first day.

"Its just you're so very pretty. The performin' arts department really is amazin'."

"No, no. You're amazing yourself. Are you a model?" My eyes darted between the two girls before I turned back around.

'I think I'll let them talk it out first. I'm in no rush.' I rested my elbow on the table, fist on my cheek, closing my eyes and letting the diegetic sounds around me drown my presence into the background.

"Well, gee, I guess I am. I'm Minami Kotobuki, Nice to meet ya."

" "Minami Kotbuki"...? Oh you're a pin-up girl!" I couldn't but furrow my brows at the implications of what she potential did behind me.

"Ain't it a bit inhumane to google me in front of my face?" Yep, she did. I could practically hear the sweat drop from Minami.

"Woah, a G-cup? Those are pretty sexy." Ruby unexpected response caught me off guard as my face slipped from my fist and into the desk.

"Stop It!" I could practically hear her pleas going in deaf ears.

"And you?" opening my eyes with a blink, I was confused on who she was referring to.

Turning around, I noticed both girls' eyes were on me.

"Oh, I'm Hayden Xiong." Ruby began typing my name on her phone.

"Don't google me in front of me too!" I cried out, causing Ruby to pout.

"Fine, but this is my first time hearing a Kansai accent. You from Osaka?" Ruby turned her attention back to Minami.

"Oh. Nope, born 'n' raised here in Kanagawa. The way I talk is just, uh… a vibe?"

"That's a fake Kansai accent?!" Ruby expressed in shock before swinging her head at me.

"And you? Where are you from? Your accent sounds pretty on point but there's a slight mismatch of inflection in your pronunciations." Raising an eyebrow at how… technical and precise her hearing is but now I had to explain myself right here and now.

"I'm from Australia." I spoke in a low tone loud enough for them to hear.

"Eh Australia?!" Both girls exclaimed causing me to chuckle slightly at their surprise.

"Really, like the land down under?" Ruby inquired as she leaned forward from her chair and against my desk.

"Y-yes. Now can you please sit back down. You're gonna fall on me." I warned with a sweat drop.

"Wow. Then you must be the foreign exchange student." Minami commented with a thoughtful look before Ruby tilted her head in confusion.

"Exchange student?"

"Oh yes. You don't know? Toyo Highschool is a prestigious school for the entertainment industry. So, they gather talented teenagers across the country but sometimes, they scout outsiders into their ranks to bring in revenue and boost inclusivity to the public for the world." The pink hair model explained.

" "Hayden Xiong"…"

"I said to not google me in front of me!" I protested but eventually the door opened abruptly as our homeroom teacher had arrived and stopping ruby from googling me.

During this time, everyone situated properly into their seats immediately before taking the roll call, the expectations, announcing today's plans and up coming events. As this was happening, I noticed the only seat next to me on the right being empty.

'A student late on the first day?' Just as I finished that thought the door opened once again as people were drawn to the sound.

Everyone was Instantly enamoured by the sheer beauty and poise this newcomer held. She had lime cat-like eyes, eyelashes perfectly poised to enhance her already natural charms, sea weed like hair that seem to create this sense of intrigue and otherworldly presence. From what I could see from afar, this girl was a diamond among stones.

"Excuse me, I had to go on live TV for a promo this morning. I do wish I could've attended the entrance ceremony." Her voice was matter of fact but held a sweet and savoury tone that was pleasant for the ears.

"Frill Shiranui…?"

"it's Frill Shiranui."

I heard a bunch of students murmured her name like it she was a living celebrity. She bowed before everyone and offered her apology.

"Forgive me for being late and the intrusion." The teacher meanwhile simply waved her off with an understanding smile of hers.

"Its Fine Shiranui-san, please sit down. There should be a free spot for you to over there." She gestured to the seat next to me and causing me to hear the squeals of the girls behind me and see the shock faces of those in front of me. I sighed now feeling some envy coming my way from both girls and guys alike.

-Screech-

Hearing the chair sliding across the floor, I performed a half turn and I notice Shiranui eyeing me intently with something in her eyes. Almost judging in fact but it disappeared just as fast. Not wanting to seem rude to this beauty, I introduced myself.

"Nice to meet you, Shiranui-san. I'm Hayden Xiong" I politely greeted.

"Nice to meet you too, Xiong-san." She said in her usual tone before turning her attention back to the homeroom teacher who resumed her notices.

"And Just like that, I became friends with Minami-chan and Xiong-san here." Ruby proudly introduced us to her twin brother Aqua.

"Just like what exactly?" He said a deadpanned tone.

"Hello there." Minami gave Aqua a small polite bow with her charming smile

"Nice to meet you." I gave him a slight nod before noticing how he regarded me suspiciously with his aquamarine eyes.

School had just finished and all of us were standing by the school plaza right next to the school's water fountain. It was neatly created with four benches on the walkway surrounding the fountain as its centre. Ruby wanted to introduce her new friend, aka us, to her brother. As for why? I have no clue but I wanted to tag along to see who this Aqua guy was like.

"I expected you to make a friend but not two friends in a single day. Well, I'm just glad you've made some friends." Aqua turned his head, almost seemingly uncaring.

"Hey, I can make a ton of friends Onii-chan. Then what about you, you make any friends?" Ruby pouted but there was no real malice in her retort.

"Not really, and I didn't come to this school to make friends, anyway." Aqua closed his eyes and replied as a matter of fact.

"Oh, so you didn't make any. Sorry for bringing up something upsetting… We don't need to talk about your class anymore." Ruby acknowledged with a despondent tone.

"I did find some people to talk with, okay?" he immediately defended back.

"Boys don't consider each other friends right off the bat! Besides, general ed is different in that its an integrated middle and high school program, so friendships are already established, and it takes time to get closer to people." He explained succinctly leaving the three of us to look at him strangely.

"I'm not some loner who can't make friends at a new school. Okay?"

"You sure have a lot to say on the topic. Although your logic is void since Hayden here is a boy, he's already friends with us and he's from a different country." Ruby hotly disputed at her brother's logic.

"Eh?" Aqua raised his eyebrows to appraise me.

"Yep, I'm from Australia." I smiled at him, actually finding the dynamic between Ruby and Aqua refreshing from everything new here in Japan.

"Minami-chan, Xiong-san, please be friends with Aqua, too." Ruby asked but it almost sounded like a plea.

"Sure thing."

"I'm fine with that."

"Don't just share your friends like that." Aqua replied with a blank face.

"Enough about me – Just worry about yourself. You're in a special environment that's different than what you're used to." Aqua elaborated.

"Good point… when I think about how everyone around me is a pro, I get pretty nervous, ya know?" Minami proclaimed with a thoughtful expression.

"Oh, don't be. This isn't a training institute or a film studio – its just a regular school. Just act like you normally would." Ruby explained with a proud smile.

"Ruby-chan!" Looking at her in awe, Minami couldn't help but be moved.

"I've heard that somewhere before…" Aqua commented on the side.

"But they still allow some students to perform their careers during school. So, it's not just your average day to day school life." I added on with a hand on my hip.

"Really? I didn't recognise anyone in any kind of media before at the entrance ceremony." Aqua crossed his arms and began tapping his arm with his finger.

"Nope… there was this… one amazing student." Murmured with her eyes down supported with a faint blush.

Ruby and Minami went on to explain Frill Shiranui's entrance into our homeroom class.

"Frill Shiranui showed up in our class." Ruby declared with Minami cutely humming in agreement.

"Her 9 p.m. Monday TV drama is a huge hit! She's a multitalented entertainer who can sing, dance, and act! Frill Shiranui is the first person most people think of when they hear "beautiful girl"!" Ruby rambled on with a high squeal.

'Huh… didn't know she was that famous. Probably within Japan she's well-loved celebrity but… I have no doubts that she can make it worldwide too.' I pondered on my thoughts about the famous teen actor.

"I of course know of her, but you sure are infatuated with her, huh?" Aqua's body was twisted to half address her but his words seem more interrogating than a light question.

"She's my number one fave, as of now." She waved her hands like a rainbow, and I could see a love heart appear in one of her eyes.

"hmm."

" 'hmm' What?! This is Frill Shiranui we're talking about!" Ruby exclaimed with her fists cutely balled in front of her.

"Not interested. My favourite always was and always will be Ai." My eyes widened at the name.

"Well that goes for me too… But that's one thing and this is another!" She pouted, swinging her arms up and down.

"Wasn't Ai-"

"Oh!? Look, there she is!" Ruby interrupted me to turn our attention to Shiranui.

Swivelling our heads towards the front door of the school building, we caught the teen actress just exiting the building and heading towards the gate with serene style and posture. Tucking a hair behind her ear as if the wind were blowing against her was on command. Hearing Ruby's awe I turned my head slightly to see her delighted face.

"She's cute even from a distance!"

"you're acting like an ordinary fan of hers. You're classmates, right?" Aqua inquired as he tucked in his hands into his pockets.

"yeah, but… eh where are you-"

"Hello, Shiranui-san." Ruby's inquisitive face turned into one of realisation.

"My sister is in the same class as you. Please get along with her." Aqua politely requested.

"Hold it, Onii-chan!" Ruby ran up behind her brother with a pout meanwhile me and Minami quietly walked next to them and watched the chaos unfold.

"I know you. Weren't you in "Sweet Today"?" Shiranui asked with a curious voice.

"You know your stuff. That show wasn't even much of a hit." Aqua was slightly taken aback but it was mostly from fellow curiosity than surprise.

Looking down at the ground and dipping her head, her gaze turned mildly annoyed.

"It kept coming up at one of my jobs, so I watched it. It was good." Aqua eyes went wide from the recognition from a talent like Shiranui.

"thanks." Turning her head at Minami beside me, her eyes turned into recognition.

"I've seen you on the cover of middle jump. Your name's Minami-san, right?"

"Yes!" the pink haired model next to me practically beamed at the recognition causing me to smile from her excitement.

"You… you're Xiong-san right? My classmate." I tilted my head and saw that judgemental look in her lime eyes again before instantly disappearing.

"Right. Nice seeing you again, Shiranui-san" I nodded at her with a cool smile.

'…Wow. The three of them just got recognise by Frill Shiranui.' Ruby gasped in her thoughts with her hand was facing outwards by her astonished face before finally being acknowledged.

"And you are?" Tilting her head slightly causing Ruby to jump slightly.

"My apologies. What is it you do?" Shiranui asked innocently.

"Well, uh… I'm currently doing…nothing." Ruby's inflection went lower as she continued.

"Oh. Well, um… keep at it?" Tilting her head cutely while offering a sad attempt of encouragement.

I could feel the second hand sting it brought for Ruby, and I can see that everyone else felt it too. Ruby practically deflated into a popped balloon.

"Oi, oi. Don't go passing out here. Geez." Aqua exasperated as he picked up his downtrodden sister, placing her arms around his shoulders.

"Sorry, but I think its time we go. It was good to meet to you all." Aqua nodded his head at everyone before walking away with a mumbling Ruby.

"Frill… Shiranui… recognition…"

"Hey, don't go all mopey on me Ruby." Aqua tsked as he carried his sister out of the school gates.

"Well, I currently have photoshoot happening later in the day, so I have to go now. It was nice meeting everyone." Minami beamed at us before waving goodbye.

We both returned it happily as well before I realised it was two of us.

….

'This is awkward as hell now…' Noticing the long-standing silence, I figured it was high time I left.

"I got to- "

"Would you like to come have bubble tea with me?" Shiranui intercepted me with an invitation.

"…what?" I blinked like deer in headlights.

Our journey for Bubble tea wasn't that far but it seems that Shiranui forgot one vital mistake that would lengthen our journey to the Bubble tea place. She wasn't wearing any clothing to mask her appearance but instead wore her usual school clothing. This caused a long detour for us as the famous teen was hammered by her adoring fans left and right.

"kyaaaaa!" I wince at the girls' high pitch squeals of delight.

"One, two and *Click*" Bring the phone down, the three girls went to examine the picture.

We were by a small cross intersection when we were encountered by her fans. Instantly recognising their fave celebrity, they, swarmed Shiranui and asking for photos and signatures to which she all but obliged. Anytime this would happen these past few hours, I would blend into the background as much as I can as to not cause her any trouble.

"Ah thank you so much. I can't believe we took a picture with the Frill Shiranui." The brown hair middle schooler exclaimed to her friend.

"I know right. We must have been blessed by the gods today. Thank you so much, Shiranui-san." A black-haired Japanese girl squealed with a high inflection.

"Anything for my fans." Putting a smile on her already beautiful face was too gorgeous of the girls, facing away as if it was the sun yet peeking through their hands like moths to a flame.

I couldn't help but chuckle at the reactions which garnered the girl's attention onto me now.

"Who's this? Are you a famous actor too?" The brown one asked.

"Hmm. No, I've never seen his face before, and he doesn't look all that good looking. His silver eyes are cool though. Are they contact lenses?"

"haha, No they're not. They're the real deal. Got them from my dad's side of the family." I explained with a knowing smile.

"Your accent… its almost sounds like a foreigner. Oh my god, wait are you a foreigner?" The black hair girl questioned profusely by getting closer to me.

I backpedalled slightly at the sudden intrusion before my eyes blinked as the second one who looked at me with astonished eyes.

"Y-yeah. I'm a foreigner. I'm from Australia." I said with a small sweat drop and watched Shiranui's expression going from half-smirk of enjoyment to that of a surprised.

Wait, was she enjoying me being hammered by her fans? Why isn't she helping me in this situat-… oh you little minx.

"An Australian? You're from Australia? Wow that's amazing!" The Raven-haired girl commented In awe.

"Wait, why are you with Shiranui-san… oh my god… are you two?" The brunette began pointing fingers between us back and forth with a shock expression which her friend was able to follow up.

I was confused about what this was about until it clicked my head a second later. I blushed at their thoughts and tried to correct them.

"Wa-Wait no. Its not- We're aren't- Like?!"

"OH MY GOSH. Did we stumble upon your secret date Shiranui-san?" The raven-haired girl turned back to her Idol and practically rebounded her excited energy to her friend.

I looked at Shiranui with a pleading look to correct them but seeing her neutral poker face tilting and transforming into a sly smirk, my eyes widened In horror before I could do anything.

"If possible, I would appreciate it if word didn't get around and would greatly appreciate it more if you kept our secret." She leaned forward and gave them her acting smile.

As if it was hypnotism, the girls nodded and looked each other with a new rising excitement and glee.

"Anything for you, Shiranui-san. We'll take this secret to the grave if we must." The brunette puffed her chest out with a proud huff.

What came next was almost mind melting to me as she gracefully hugged onto my arm and leaned her head on my shoulder seeing as how I was a good 6 cm taller than her. This caused the girls to almost faint on the spot if it weren't for me catching their arms.

"Hmm. Darling, flirting with other girls in front of me?" Shiranui, seeing the prime opportunity, pouted with convincing ease, causing me to blink rapidly at the situation as the girls eyes were disbelief as if I was cheating with their favourite celebrity with them.

'Fine, you want it, I'll do it.' I grunted, before calming my heartrate and breath.

My eyes shot open with a changed look, catching the two girls off guard while also intriguing Shiranui. Giving both girls a shining smile along with a tilt and making them blush. Setting them down standing up, I turned my attention to my 'girlfriend' still hugging my arm who had an almost whimsical glint in her eyes.

"I'm sorry hon, but as a gentleman, I mustn't let harm fell upon a woman in front of me." My voice was suave and accompanied with a bare toned rumble in my throat.

Wrapping my arm around Shiranui's waist and pulling her forward against mine, I felt her hand pressing my back while her other against my chest. Her face was plastered in surprise but whether it was real I hadn't known.

"You really are a womaniser to your core." She bemoaned looking away rather disappointed as tears began falling out her eyes.

'Dammit, stop making this harder than it needs to be woman.' I practically yelped in my thoughts before pulling on her chin to look at me slowly and assuredly.

Putting on the most convincing amount of love I had into my eyes, face and cheeks and wiping away the tears with my other hand, I looked directly into her those enchanting Lime eyes with my own silver. The Girls watching couldn't believe what was happening and it took all their will power to not interrupt the drama unfolding in front of them.

"Oh Frill, woman are like the stars in the sky. They are countless, yet none could ever outshine the light you shine within my mind, body and soul." I heard one of the girl's gasps if not at the same time.

'Alright, time to finish this.' Looking down into her captivating green and yellow eyes, I spun us around slowly as I said my next lines.

"Frill Shiranui. You are the woman I will always love, with all my heart." As my back reached the girls, I wrapped my arms around her waist pulling her hip to mine and leaned down, feeling her tender and smooth hands hook around my neck.

The girls finally let out cry as they just witnessed one of the most beautiful and romantic moments of their lives. Wiping away a tear from their eyes they bowed behind me.

"We'll *sniff* we'll leave you two be now. And don' *sniff* worry." The raven-haired practically bawled at the end leaving her brunette friend, who was in similar conditions, to finish her sentence.

"We'll keep your secret safeohhohhohhooh ~." She wept at the truly cinematic scene in front of her.

A second later, we both heard shuffling and sniffing behind us before it was no longer present. Looking around, I noticed that we were both alone now in this small crossroads. Letting out a relieving sigh I looked down at the little minx who orchestrated this entire improvise theatre set.

"That was great acting, Darling ~." Her face had returned to her usual poker face, but she couldn't help but get the last smirk.

"Please don't ever do that again, Shiranui-san." I grunted as my eyes were enraptured by her Lime almost snakelike eyes and finally noticing the two beauty marks on her bottom right lip and at the bottom of her left eye.

"Why not? It was fun but now I know what you're capable of, I understand why you were chosen for the exchange program." Her voiced returned to its matter-of-fact tone.

My eyes furrowed at her words as I digested it.

"Xiong-san."

"Yes?" I blinked at her.

"Are you going to keep holding me?" my mind finally caught up about our current positions.

My face turned beet red much to Shiranui's smirking pleasure, as she adored my blushing cheeks and silver eyes. Letting go immediately, I straighten my student clothes and avoiding eye contact with the teen celebrity. Grabbing our bags nearby, the lamppost had just turned on while blinking shortly before the buzzing noise can be heard.

"We've been out for a long while now." I commented out loud as I watched the dusk gave way to dark.

"Do you no longer want Bubble Tea?" Shiranui pulled up beside me before I handed her her bag.

Taking it with a nod, she hooked it over her shoulders before studying my face, awaiting my reply.

"I'm still down for it. it'll certainly be worth it from the stunt you just pulled off." I grunted as we began walking together once again.

"'We', you mean. You are officially my partner in crime. So, don't plan on running Darling ~." Shiranui gave me another small smirk before returning to her blank expression.

I rolled my eyes in amusement at this woman and her crazy antics before losing myself in deep thoughts about what happened. It didn't take too long for us to finally arrive to the Bubble shop, and it wasn't too crazy with customers from what I saw through the window, so I didn't worry about any other major improvised scenes I had to act out.

As we entered inside, the electric door chimed notify our arrival causing the man behind the glass counter to peak his head up at his new customers.

"Good evening, Mr Urume-san." Shiranui nodded at the burly old man who smiled brightly at her.

"Ah! Shiranui, your presence is always welcomed here. Hahaha. Oh, and what's this? You brought a fellow student over." The now named man, Urume, had left the counter and walked over to me with an intense gaze, causing me to simply tilt my head in confusion.

I wasn't that intimidated by his act to scare using his big build. Back in Australia, he would've been an eye batter by the normal Australian teenager, and I had my fair share of fights too. Looking up at the tall man as he towered over me, but I showed him that I wouldn't back down from the challenge so easily.

Tilting my head up, angling my head to the side and eyeing him down, I felt myself being on equal footing with the man when it came to sheer presence. Many others within the shop, namely the customers were feeling the tension breeding in the air as it almost became choking.

…..

"HAHAHAHA!" The large man bellowed his guts out before slapping me on my back, causing me to grunt.

I let out a grin myself before laughing. Not as hard as Urume here but it spelt out how I felt. Shiranui merely rolled her eyes at the interaction before coughing into her hand, gaining Urume's attention. The old man eyes lit up in recognition before he nodded with a last vestige of his laughter leaving him.

"Alright then, your usual. And you, what do you want?" He said with a gruff voice, as he held out his hand.

"Same as her, I guess." I shrugged nonchalantly; I wasn't that picky when it comes to Bubble tea, just the Bubble part.

The burly man nodded his head and seated us together by a table before returning to the counter to cater our drinks. Just like that, the tension slowly and eventually died down and the entire place resumed its calming and relaxing atmosphere. Looking around, I couldn't but marvel at the interior design.

"This place is amazing, Shiranui-san. How'd you find it? It's pretty obscure to the public." I asked curiously.

"This Bubble shop is one of the few spots where I can relax and wind down after a hard-working day of acting." She looked around at the other customers who kept to themselves.

"I happened to stumble upon it during its less fortunate days. In fact back then, all this fancy looks weren't here over a year ago but after getting a sponsor, this place has been quite the investment I would say." I followed her gaze as I digested what she had explained.

Some were on their laptops, others on their phones, two people on a date together and finally those just hanging out with friends. Nodding to myself, I looked back at the interior of the Bubble Tea shop but honestly, it could pass as a café from all the pastries set up on the glass shelves by the counter.

We both sat in comfortable silence, on our phones and flicking through whatever, social media app. Urume, seeing us just sitting there on our phones furrowed his eyebrows before a mischievous glint appeared. Smirking to himself, he walked out of the counter and to us with our drinks in hand, or rather singular large drink confusing the both of us.

"Uh… I thought we ordered the same thing?" I furrowed my eyebrow at the comically large drink before Urume flashed a knowing grin.

"Urume, this isn't my usual. Its too big." Shiranui dangled her head to the side in confusion.

'Really, the size is what getting you?' I deadpanned at her.

"Sorry kids, but I have no other cups, so I had to get creative. Anyways, this here is a bargain, its three Bubble teas in one." He explained, giving me a nudge before I gave him an annoyed look which he pointedly ignored.

Now leaving us with this massive Bubble Tea we both looked at each other unsure how to proceed. Sighing, I decided to not play Urume's game.

"Its ok, Shiranui-san. You can have It yourself. I'm good." I smiled at her, hoping to convince her but she simply looked at me with a blank stare.

"But I can't finish all this alone." She said as if that was the problem which cause me falter slightly and she was right, it was one of them.

"Alright, let's have it."

I wasn't that much of prude to know what indirect kissing was but wasn't attentive about caring about such things. The reason why I didn't want to share the same was to basically uphold Shiranui's image should anyone be taking a picture of us that can threaten her image and future career. Sighing, I still can't understand why Shiranui wanted to take me out to have bubble tea with her, especially knowing the risk of a boy with a celebrity girl.

"What are you thinking about?" I blinked as I was pulled from my thoughts.

Looking up from the table and notice the straw in my face. I leaned a bit outwards to see Shiranui looking at me. Taking a moment to process what's happening, I gave her a small smile.

"Well, I was wondering how someone like you, end up becoming a famous celebrity, Shiranui-san." Said person merely tilted her head before her eyes searched mine before I began drinking the bubble tea.

A silence followed soon after as I finished drinking the bubble tea and turned the straw to her. Nodding her thanks she began drinking the bubble tea. Letting out a satisfied sigh, she slumped back into her before turning the straw over to me.

"It's a long story… Long enough for us to finish this drink." Shiranui joked causing me to be taken aback.

I stared at her silently before chuckling at her attempt to make a joke with such a bland face. Seeing me laughing, she gave me a small appreciative smile as I calmed my laughing sides. Looking at her beautiful face I gave her a bright smile.

"I got all night."
