Chapter 16: Bowling at Arsenal Lanes
The next day, we all went down to Arsenal Lanes in Lawrenceville to go bowling and then go to dinner at the highly chosen restaurant afterwards. "Hi, guys!" I greeted my friends. "Hi, Angel!" Sarah greeted back. We jammed out to NSYNC, 98 Degrees, Kate Bush, and Lizzo prior to bowling. We divided into teams and we were all named after our Disney Princess Halloween costume for the year: Cinderella for me, Pocahontas for Carly, Jasmine for Alex, and Belle for Sarah. "Why are we being divided into teams and named after our Halloween costume?" Carly asked. "Does this mean that I should bowl as John Smith?" Spencer asked. "I am not sure," Mr. Benson replied. "I am thinking about making an Indian corn craft if we have a Halloween party," Carly stated. At first, Carly got 95 and Alex got 100. It was a real nailbiter for Sarah as it would be hard to beat Alex's score. Then, there was a bet between the 2 older girls that if one of them could beat Alex's high score, then they would choose which restaurant to go to for dinner afterwards. Carly requested New Amsterdam, Alex requested Tessaro's, and Sarah and I both requested Industry Public House. It turned out that Alex did not do as well her second game, so Sarah got a chance to beat Alex's high score and then we ended up going to Industry Public House. "My favorite Halloween was 3 years ago when we all dressed up as characters from Aladdin and then I made a YouTube video on the Yellow Belt," I stated. "If we should have a Halloween party this week, I would be in charge of the meals and snacks to eat," Alex stated. "I wish that Tessaro's would have won," Max stated. "We can always go next time," Justin pointed out. "So many of this year's seniors chose the Walt Disney World trip as their favorite memory," Alex stated. "That was our favorite memory, too." "Are the current band members going to go bowling?" I asked. "Yes, they are going to bowl at New Great Valley Lanes in North Versailles after their Christmas parade on November 29," Alex told me. "Is there anything else going on with you besides the playoffs that I can come see you guys at?" I asked. "Well, we have a Halloween parade on Halloween, Stadium Highlights on November 6, the Turtle Creek Christmas parade on November 26, and finally, the Christmas concert on December 20. Oh, and we have a dine-to-donate event at Shelly Pie on November 9." "That is the same day as the Insect Investigators Sleepover," I stated. "Do you think that you guys could make your own food for your potential Halloween party?" "Maybe, Angel," Alex told me. We then headed across the street to Industry Public House for dinner and cake. "Today was a real nailbiter," Sarah stated. "We have the same athletic spirit that we do for our Field Day." "Why don't we go bowling for Halloween?" I happily asked. "We are having a Halloween bowling event right now, Angel," Alex stated. "I am in the mood for a burger and fries," Justin stated. "Me too," Henri happily stated, licking his lips. After dinner, it was time to cut the cake. "That cake almost reminds me of my 15th birthday celebration cake," Sarah happily stated. "I remember Samantha talking about her golden birthday and growing up to be just like us," I stated. "But, not if they are going to do drugs and alcohol because that is how your former boyfriend, Benedict got suspended from school." "We would not be able to go to work or any of our activities if we were to be on drug and alcohol overdose," Sarah pointed out to me. Pretty soon, it was time for all of us to leave. "Thanks for a great day, everyone!" I thanked my friends. "You're welcome, Angel," Sarah replied. "Good night, guys!" "Good night!"
