Chapter 12: Kennywood Phantom Fall Fest
The next day, we all met up at Kennywood Park for the annual Phantom Fall Fest. "Hi, guys!" I greeted my friends. "Hi, Angel!" Sarah greeted back. While jamming out to NSYNC and 98 Degrees, we composed a Childhood Chat in which Sarah Ching discussed telling the truth in 2nd grade in Westmoreland County, Emma Wallace discussed watching YouTube videos in 6th grade in Ross Township, Madison Dayley discussed eating gummies in 2nd grade in Hampton Township, Jennifer Preager discussed watching a scary movie in 6th grade in the western suburbs, Kayla Jennis discussed using her new wheelie bag in 8th grade in the northern suburbs, Sophia Cleng discussed coloring in 4th grade in McCandless, and Julia Robison discussed sporting her new pajama set in 10th grade in the southern suburbs. "Like I said last night at the dance party," Carly stated, "I love to color and you are never too old for it." "This past spring and summer, Sophia was partially like Alex and Zoe was partially like Carly, even though Zoe is never interviewed," I stated. "Okay, Angel," Carly stated. "Did I mention how I love to color, too?" Spencer asked. "So do I," Freddie agreed. "I like to watch videos on YouTube, too," Alex stated. "Even videos of marching bands," Max stated. "Hopefully, there is an adult chaperone who will make videos of our marching band and post them on YouTube," Justin remarked. "I love our halftime show this year! It's great!" "Isn't it?" I asked. "Yes, definitely," Alex agreed. "I just thought of something else like how young girls make YouTube videos of special occasions like homecoming, semi-formal, prom, graduation, etc. I could have definitely made a video of myself getting ready for the Sweet 16 party at Brackenridge Heights Country Club." "So, are we going to have another semi-formal dance around Valentine's Day like we had last year?" I asked Alex. "We just might, Angel," Alex told me. "You might make a video of yourself getting ready and enjoying the dance." We rode some of our favorite rides, including the Skyrocket, the Thunderbolt, the Phantom's Revenge, the Exterminator, the Whip, Spinvasion, Pirate, Musik Express, Cosmic Chaos, Potato Smash, the Racer, the Jack Rabbit, and the carousel. Then, we all headed to Open Body Buffet for a group dinner. While jamming out to Kate Bush and Lizzo, we composed another Childhood Chat in which Elizabeth Mosh discussed staying up all night in 4th grade in Bloomfield, Isabella Black discussed having a Netflix binge session in preschool in Highland Park, Rachel Luster discussed telling the truth in day care in Morningside, Taylor Paulson discussed watching YouTube videos in 9th grade in Point Breeze, Nicole Ellis discussed watching a scary movie at 17 years old in Regent Square, Brianna Shokoko discussed coloring at 21 years old in Squirrel Hill, and Grace Luster discussed listening to music prior to 7th grade in Stanton Heights. "It is hard to tell the truth sometimes," James admitted. "About being a single man in his mid-30s with no girlfriend or wife and just his younger brother to keep him company." "That's nice of you to say," Henri proudly stated. "I had the chance to have Sybil as a wife if she did not break up with me and I could have had possibly another girlfriend if somebody accepted me for who I was on School Picture Day and did not try too hard," James stated. "I feel the same way about boys," Sarah stated. "I wanted to impress my boyfriend, Benedict on School Picture Day, but it did not work out, although it is great to have 3 younger girls as my roommates." "I feel touched," I happily stated. "This past spring and summer, the other Sarah, Sarah C., was partially like Sarah." "We know, Angel," Sarah told me. There was lots of good food to eat at the buffet, including hors d'ouerves like raw veggies, cheese, meat, and crackers, tortilla chips, delicious main courses like hoagies, wraps, chicken wings, hot sausage, spaghetti and meatballs, and macaroni and cheese, and scrumptious desserts like cookies, cupcakes, and pudding. We even took a group photo in front of the Skyrocket. Then, it was time for all of us to head home and go to bed. "Thanks for a great day, everyone!" I thanked my friends. "You're welcome, Angel," Sarah replied. "Good night, guys!" "Good night!"
