Plans

My anxiety is high as I stand in the gravel, leading right to the large T. Waiting for this cab knowing who is driving it, makes my feet feel like cement to the ground. My breath hitches as a silver Honda Civic turns into the drive. My eyes clench and I take a deep breath, "it's going to be okay Rae. Just stick to the plan. My body moves even as my head is telling me to stop. My tote bag flung over my shoulder, I put my hand in the Jean jacket, feeling the communicator. It's odd carrying the yellow device again, knowing you're going to need it. The cab pulls up with the passenger back door at me. "Let's go Raven." I tell myself

I grasp the door handle opening it… my breath hitches as I look at the driver. It's a woman. She has auburn hair and sits with a smirk on her face. I hit the communicator alerting the others, something is wrong.

"I'm sorry, I've decided to stay. Here you are" I throw a 50 in the seat.

"Get in Raven" she holds up her phone

"Rachel! Rachel!" I hear screaming before I see the screen. Jessica sits tied to a chair, eyes spewing tears. Her nose looks broke and her mouth is covered in blood. My mouth drops open and my stomach instantly jumps.

"Get in or I send the word for her to die." She says stern.

I turn around glancing at the tower. I turn immediately sliding into the back seat. Hitting the button again I let them know something is seriously wrong.

"RAVEN" I hear him scream running from the garage. I look at him with wide eyes as I shut the door.

Panic leaches from him and I play it right back through the bond. The car jerks and she whips it around heading out of the drive. I see in the rear view, Richard quickly turning foot and grabbing his bike.

Kori is overhead streaming like a jet after us. With cyborg busting around the corner in his car

"This won't help her, call them off!" The woman screams at me.

"I can, but they won't stop and you know that." I say with a shaken breath.

"Then she'll die" she smirks holding up her phone with Jessica begging for help.

I go to grab the communicator out of my pocket and as I do my cell phone in my bag rings. I pull my hand out of my pocket. Quickly reaching into my bag and seeing a green rat. A wave of relief hits me knowing I'm not alone in this car. I grab my phone seeing Richard calling me. I shakily answering

"You have to stop following me" I answer.

"Rachel, I can't. What's going on?"

"They're beating my manager Jessica and going to kill her if you don't stop."

"That's it give me the phone the woman demands." I give her my phone and she throws it out the window immediately shattering it along the pavement. I notice star fire slowing down and landing off to the side. Richards bike pulls over to her and he stops.

My vision loses track of them as we continue speeding down the road. I slip my hand into my tote bag with beast boy transitioning into a kitten and snuggling my hand, trying to comfort me.

"So what's the plan here" I blurt out to the woman. As she pushes the car to 80mph.

"For you to shut up." She scowls.

I look out the window, "you know that even though they stopped, they're going to find me"

"Kill the girl" she screams into the phone.

"NO!!"" I scream as I hear the gunshot playing through. I shake and I'm overcome with anger. I lean up grabbing ahold of the woman. I ran her head into the steering wheel and she grunts elbowing back at me catching me on the mouth.

Beast boy crawls out of my bag quickly transitioning into a cobra, crawling under the seat. I grab for the woman's hair, punching her in the mouth. She swerves the car stopping it. She continues to fight back but is quickly pulling at the door handle jumping out as the cobra stood high hissing. I follow climbing out of the drivers seat

"I was just following orders she screams!"

"Whose orders" I stand with a ball of my black energy ready to strike on her

"Don't play dumb" I hear him cackle from her phone. Slade..

"Why come after us now? It's been years. We reunite for a few days to catch up and now you come after us?"

"Oh dear I've been watching you all along. Hoping to set trigon free. Trying to find your chakira to set him free. We have plans we need to finish him and I." He gleams as she holds up the picture showing him. I see the blood covered floor in the back. Noticing it's my cafe

"That's what this is about?" I laugh. "My daddy?"

His annoyance kicks in "quite amusing to you?"

"I threw the chakra in lava in the depths of hell when the titans disbanded, the heat sealed his tomb and then destroyed him indefinitely. I made damn sure he wasn't coming back." I laughed out.

He grumbles. "Burn the place down and kill her, she's useless." The girl picks up a gun aiming it at me. "Don't burn it!" I scream running towards the phone. The gun blasts and my shield comes up stopping it in its tracks. My eyes go wide as I watch the flames start.

Suddenly the woman screams as beast boy lunges on her as a tiger. The gun is slid against the pavement, along with her phone. I scream and scream holding my head as everything I have goes up in flames. The life I created ends with a screen of flames. The phone goes black and i fall to my knees staring at it.

I hear his bike roar as he raced to me. I look at my hands seeing the bloody busted knuckles. With the metallic taste in my mouth I know she busted my lip and I've been bleeding

"Raven!" Star lands next to me "are you okay" she holds my head and examines my mouth.

"No." I tear up. "He destroyed the one thing I had when everyone left. I'm so broken" I cry.

"Raven" he walks behind me. Sitting down slowly next to me. "We can rebuild it again, we can give you it back. As long as you and our baby is safe. That's all that matters." He tucks my hair behind my ear as the wind blows.

"What about Jessica?" I cry, "he killed her. She was pregnant with twins. You don't think he wouldn't kill me now that he can't get what he wants.?"

The police van pulls up as beast boy and cyborg has the woman detained. I watch her glaring at me as they walk her towards it.

"What did he want Rachel? I thought he was after the baby" he stares confused.

"He wants to free Trigon from my chakra"

"Negative, we can't let him loose. He would kill you and the baby."

"Richard, I killed Trigon." I look at him, "I lived up to my demon self and I killed him, I'm a murderer."

"No you're brave." Starfire smiles. "Sacrificing his soul to protect this world and the others, doesn't make you a murderer, it make you a hero."

I smile softly, "thanks Star" I hugged her. Her words give me a little comfort.

"You think she's safe or is he going to continue going after her?" Cyborg asks.

"I don't know." Nightwing sighs. He looks at me, eyes filled with worry. Knowing we both know Slade.. This isn't the end.
