Chapter 10: Promises and Gifts
Charlie stared at the table, disbelief as Walter had finished explaining what had happened.
"… don't beat yourself up over this, Princess." Walter encouraged, seeing the look on her face. "It was something none of us expected to happen."
Razzle and Dazzle put their hands on Charlie's shoulders, their faces saddened as Charlie stayed silent.
Several minutes passed before Charlie spoke up again.
"Can you undo the affects the shrinking, Walter?" Charlie asked timidly, as if she had struggled to find something to say.
"Without knowing how it was applied and what was used in it, I can't or should I say I shouldn't attempt at reversing the process." Walter informed, disliking the fact he had to say this. "All we can do is wait it out, and if it doesn't undo itself…"
Charlie shook her head, not wanting to hear any more of the conversation.
"Where are the children?" Charlie asked as she stood up.
"Upstairs in Naruto's room."
Charlie nodded.
"I'd leave them be for now, Charlie." Walter recommended as he stopped Charlie, seeing her intent was to go check on them. "Go upstairs and go to sleep. It has been a long day."
Charlie bit her lip, but she nodded.
Razzle and Dazzle followed Charlie upstairs as Walter stayed downstairs, cleaning up before he would retire for the night.
However, Charlie didn't go to the guest room.
She stood in front of Naruto's bedroom door.
Carefully opening the door, Charlie looked in.
The soft, gentle snores of the teens allowed relief to wash over Charlie as she saw them in Naruto's bed.
Her relief was nearly short lived when she saw the shrunken Naruto within Mirko's grasp.
Closing the door, Charlie went to the guest room, undressed, and lay on the bed, Razzle and Dazzle beside her.
Charlie closed her eyes.
Sleep didn't come.
Her relief had run its course.
Her mind continued to keep her awake, as Razzle and Dazzle fell asleep, Charlie opened her eyes and stared toward the ceiling.
A sense of failure just hung in the air, like a fart inside a cramped elevator.
A feeling of self-disappointment gnawing away at the back of her head.
The weight of a single life pressing down on her soul, even though it would be Naruto's job to protect her, Charlie knew she needed to protect him in return.
Sleep came, but was not a refreshing experience for the Princess of Hell.
Next Morning…
"GET AWAY FROM ME!" Naruto hollered as he ran across the floor, being only six inches in height, Razzle and Dazzle chased him with Mirko.
"BUT YOU'LL LOOK SO CUTE~" Mirko gushed, holding a doll outfit in her hands.
Her back had been patched up with heavy bandages while she was currently loaded with many painkillers to keep herself from feeling the severe amount of pain she was in.
"STAY AWAY!"
"Should we stop them?" Charlie asked in concern, bags under her eyes.
"No, I feel like this is them returning to form." Walter said as he watched his charge be chased by the rabbit. "And humorous."
Charlie just sat at the table as Naruto continued to run from the tiny demons and Mirko.
"AHA!" Mirko exclaimed, finally grabbing the shrunken fox. "I GOTCHA!"
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
Five Minutes Later…
Naruto stood before Charlie and Mirko on the table, wearing a doll dress, feeling humiliated as the two took pictures.
"So cute~" Charlie gushed.
"I know~" Mirko agreed.
Walter put his hand over his mouth, trying not to show his amusement at his student's predicament as Razzle and Dazzle didn't even try hiding it, their smiles and glee on display for all to see.
"I hate you…" Naruto grumbled as he shook, anger just spewing from his body. "I hate all of you…"
"AAAWE!"
Naruto's embarrassment knew no bounds that day.
*DING-DONG*
Naruto visibly flinched as Walter excused himself to answer the door.
"Are you okay?" Mirko asked, having seen his reaction to the sound.
"Y-Yeah… I'm fine…" Naruto said, his tail still tucked between his legs.
Charlie was about to say something…
"HELLO~"
"Mom? What are you doing here?" Mirko asked as Kaguya and Walter entered the kitchen.
"Walter called me earlier and told me what happened, so I came to pick you up. Now, where is the Stupid Boy?"
"FUCK YOU!" Naruto shouted, hating Kaguya's pet name for him.
Kaguya looked at the table.
She blinked several times as she saw Naruto, in a dress, shrunken down on the table.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAGYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAA!" Kaguya collapsed, eyes watering as her ribs began to ache from how hard she was laughing at Naruto, making him growl.
'Today fucking sucks…'
Twenty Minutes Later…
"Oka…Okay…" Kaguya took a deep breath. "I'm done…"
Naruto scoffed, making Kaguya wheeze one last time.
"Sorry, you're just so cute. Last time I could pick you up with one hand was when you were a baby." Kaguya said, picking Naruto up.
"You could do that even if he was normal size, mom."
Kaguya rolled her eyes.
"Whatever…" She said as she began to pet Naruto.
To Charlie's surprise, Naruto actually began to make a pleasant yip like sound as Kaguya scratched under his chin.
'Cute…' She thought.
Naruto's eyes snapped into focus.
"STOP THAT!" He shouted, pushing Kaguya's hand away. "I WON'T BE HUMILIATED!"
"You're wearing a dress made for a doll." Kaguya reminded.
Naruto's eyes twitched.
Noon…
Having been given more appropriate clothing, Naruto rode on Dazzle's back, laughing as the goat demon flew around the house before going through an open window.
"Naruto, be careful!" Charlie called out as Mirko ran outside with Razzle, catching up with Naruto and Dazzle.
"He'll be fine." Kaguya said as she drank some water. "I did raise him after all, the Stupid Boy knows better."
"…"
"Yes?" Kaguya asked Charlie, seeing the look on her face.
"I was wondering, how did you find Naruto?" Charlie asked curiously.
Kaguya put her cup down, leaning against the counter.
"Well… it was a rainy day. I was pregnant with Mirko at the time, and on my way home, I saw thus bundle. Walking past it, I heard a baby. Looking in I just found him." Kaguya explained. "I don't know who his parents were, but I guess my motherly instincts had kicked into overdrive because I just picked him up and raised him as my own. I put him to work when he got older of course."
"Speaking of… work…" Charlie avoided Kaguya's gaze. "Why did you allow Naruto to work with Zabuza?"
"Ah, I see." Kaguya said as she smiled slightly, remembering the Champion. "Zabuza was different. He was still a jackass who could kill six ways to Sunday, but he held respect for people the others didn't. Seeing Naruto being harassed and threatened made Zabuza ask me if he could have Naruto work for him. I granted it of course. I felt it was a safer method."
"Why didn't you keep him with Mirko? I mean, you raised him, so wouldn't you also train him with Mirko?" Charlie asked, trying to understand why Kaguya had Naruto work in a very hostile environment.
"I believed Stupid Boy could handle it, and he did." Kaguya explained as if it was that simple.
To her, it was.
She raised Naruto.
Kaguya knew he would be able to handle things.
"Okay, why do you call him stupid boy?" Charlie asked, completely pushing all her other questions aside to know what that was about.
"You ever watch Courage the Cowardly Dog?"
"…"
"I'll take that as a no." Kaguya chuckled as she pulled out her phone. "It was a cartoon Naruto and Mirko watched growing up, and the dog's male owner always calls the dog 'Stupid Dog."
Kaguya handed her phone over to Charlie, showing a compilation of Eustace yelling at poor courage.
"So, as a joke, I called him Stupid Boy… and when he'd piss me off…" Kaguya held up a fist, remembering many things that Naruto had done in his youth that angered her. "I called him Stupid Boy so much that it just became his name."
Charlie shuddered.
'And I thought my mother was bad…'
Lucifer's Mansion…
"… let's have it be two stories so…"
"ACHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
Lucifer was shocked and surprised when Lilith suddenly and loudly sneezed all over the paperwork they were filling out.
Construction contracts, land permits, and other things needed to build a house from scratch.
"Excuse me…" Lilith said as she dabbed her nose with a tissue. 'Where did THAT come from?'
Walter's House…
"Can't catch me, Mirko!" Naruto laughed as the rabbit tried and failed to grab Dazzle via jumping.
Mirko gasped for air, irritated.
"Okay, how about a wager!" She called out, pointing at the small fox.
"What kind of wager?"
"If I fail to capture you, I'll do anything you want. If I grab you, you do something you want." Mirko exclaimed.
Naruto's face went red.
'Anything?' He thought, his cheeks turning red as his imagination went wild.
Mirko, meanwhile, felt her heart racing.
She was imagining Naruto touching her chest, or her touching his chest.
The thoughts alone made Mirko red in the face.
'Imma win!' She thought with a smile.
"Sure, just one attempt?" Naruto asked.
Mirko nodded.
"Alright, GO, MIGHTY DAZZLE!" Naruto ordered, pointing forward.
Knowing what needed to be done, Dazzle took off faster than before.
Mirko's eyes followed Dazzle's erratic movements, preparing to jump, then… she jumped.
Razzle watched as Naruto and Dazzle seemed vanish before their eyes.
"I DID IT!" Mirko proclaimed as she landed, Dazzle and Naruto in her arms.
"You cheated!" Naruto stated as Mirko put him on her shoulder, letting Dazzle go.
"What? No, I didn't."
"You used your lighting armor technique to enhance your speed!"
"I never said I wouldn't." Mirko cheekily replied, a sinister grin on her face. "Now, what was the terms for the loser?"
Naruto's eyes widened.
He had to do one thing for Mirko.
"Yes… I remember. What do you want?" Naruto said in defeat.
"I want you to tell me I am not flat chested."
"… why?"
"Because I am not!" Mirko scolded. "You called me flat chested a while ago."
"Yeah, a while ago, doesn't mean your boobs got bigger!"
"You lost so you have to tell me I am not flat!" Mirko ordered, putting Naruto on the nearby table before placing her hands on her hips.
Naruto face palmed.
'Oh, my fucking Lucifer…' He thought in irritation, resigning himself to his fate as he took a deep breath.
He removed his hand from his face, looking Mirko in the eye… her right eye specifically.
"Mirko…" he said as naturally as breathing, making her breathing pick up. "You are not flat chested. I was horribly mistaken, and I want to apologize."
"AW~" Mirko swooped Naruto into her arms, pressing him against her cheek, smiling like a dumbass. "I accept your apology, Naruto."
Naruto groaned, but inside he enjoyed the contact with Mirko, hiding his smile from her.
He didn't want her growing a swollen head from this one victory after all.
Evening…
After Mirko and Kaguya left, Naruto and Charlie were sitting at a table on the balcony of Walter's house, watching the sun set.
This was something the two did with Walter whenever Charlie visited.
Usually, Naruto and Walter would have made dinner, but with Naruto being shrunken down, it was all on Walter.
Naruto sat on the table, his ears laying flat across his head, as his eyes just stared outward, but showed he was deep in thought, his tail between his legs.
Something that Charlie had taken notice of.
"So… Naruto…" Charlie said softly, the shrunken fox looking at her. "I had noticed you were startled by the doorbell…"
"No, I wasn't!"
Charlie blinked from how fast he responded/denied the question.
"I am not accusing you."
"Okay, but I wasn't scared!"
Charlie could see something was actually bothering Naruto from the look on his face and his defensive tone.
"Okay… okay…" She said calmly, trying to keep him calm. "You weren't scared…"
Silence returned over the two, now the area being uncomfortable.
"Charlie…"
"Yes?"
"…"
Naruto looked away from Charlie, shoulders slightly hunched.
"… is it true that Lucifer allowed the Extermination on the Sinners?"
Charlie was taken back from this question.
"Why do you want to know?" She asked very slowly.
Naruto took several moments to speak, Charlie seeing subtle tells that showed his discomfort.
His tail clinging to his leg.
His ears laying flat on his head.
Avoiding Charlie's gaze.
"… while I was being held captive by that little shit Gerbil… he forced me to watch videos of the Extermination…"
Charlie gasped as her eyes widened.
"I've known about the Extermination, which demon doesn't… but I've never seen it…" Naruto continued, his arms and hands slowly beginning to shake. "Watching the angels killing sinners… brutally and gleefully… like they… like they get off on it… all the while, Gerbil told me that Lucifer allowed this…"
Naruto turned to Charlie, tears in his eyes.
"And that you'd do the same just because you are Lucifer's daughter…" He choked out.
Charlie mentally scrambled to find words to say to him.
"Yes… Lucifer allowed this, but if he didn't, then hellborn's could have also been targeted." Charlie explained. "But he is wrong, I'd never do something like that to you."
"How can you be so sure of that?" Naruto asked, making Charlie's heart ache in pain from his expression and tone. "How can I trust that you won't change your mind later and throw me to the angels to keep yourself safe!"
Charlie felt herself beginning to tear up.
A pressure pressed down on her, similarly to the night before, yet this felt worse as a thirteen-year-old child was asking her such a difficult and loaded question.
"…"
"…"
"…"
"… Well?" Naruto asked, wanting to hear her answer.
"… G-give me time…" Charlie shakily replied. "And… And I'll show you…"
She held her hand out, wanting to make a gesture of care, and Naruto stepped back.
Just as Charlie was about to pull back, his tiny hand touched hers.
"I… yeah, I guess we'll have to take the time… huh…" He tried saying in a joking manner, wiping his eyes, drying them enough.
Charlie's lips curled into a smile, picking Naruto up.
"Thank you…" Charlie said as she hugged him.
Naruto felt embarrassed.
Not because he was being hugged, no he liked hugs, and has hugged Charlie many times.
But, in his current shrunken state, he was just being pressed into her breasts.
"Dinner is ready." Walter said as he walked onto the balcony. "Oh, am I interrupting."
"No, we were just having a deep conversation, Walter." Charlie explained as she put Naruto down, who needed to sit and simmer down from the hug. "We had differing views, and came to an understanding."
"I see. Very good." Walter said. 'I heard everything with my wires.'
Indeed, Walter had used his wires to listen in, and knew what they had talked about.
Guilt entered Walter's body, feelings of failure as a mentor and protector settled in his chest.
But, as a professional, Walter was able to keep his personal feelings to himself, and served dinner for himself, Naruto, and Charlie.
Skip, Next Morning…
"Your head is the size of a cherry tomato." Walter compared, holding said tomato up to Naruto's head, much to his irritation.
"Yeah, yeah, Walter, make your jokes." Naruto replied, pushing it away. "You'll regret making fun of me when I get back to normal."
"Hey, calm down you two." Charlie said, trying to keep the peace at the breakfast table.
Walter just chuckled.
"I can only imagine…"
Walter stopped as his eyebrows rose up in mild surprise.
"What?" Naruto asked, seeing that Walter was looking at him.
"Naruto your head!"
"Huh?"
Naruto looked at a spoon… only to see his head had swelled/gotten bigger, not the size of a small mandarin orange.
"That isn't…"
Naruto was cut off when his legs cartoonishly extended, being skinny twigs before they inflated.
His arms ballooned, expanding like over stuffed sausages.
All the while, his torso was still small… until what looked like an implosion in his torso reversed itself and with a rip/tear sound, Naruto was sitting fully naked on the table, having knocked over the plates and bowls of food, now back to normal.
"Well… okay then…" Naruto said as he got off the table, tapping himself. "Seems like everything is back to normal…"
"Naruto…"
"What?"
Charlie was bright red, staring right at Naruto's dick.
Realizing he was naked in front of the princess, Naruto ran upstairs, ignoring Walter's howling laughter.
Skip, Two Hours Later, Lucifer's Mansion…
Charlie got out of her car, Razzle and Dazzle flying beside her.
'Alright, what am I going to do today?' Charlie thought as she entered her home, trying to keep her mind off of the memory of what Naruto's penis looked like.
As the trio entered, asked where her parents where, Charlie, Razzle, and Dazzle made their way to the backyard, where Lilith and Lucifer were wearing casual clothing while playing croquette.
"… got it, Luci." Lilith cheered as Lucifer concentrated.
He pulled back the mallet, and hit the ball with the necessary force.
Relaxing after being tense, Lucifer looked over and saw Charlie approaching him and Lilith.
"CHARLIE!" Lucifer exclaimed in happiness, seemingly teleporting to his child, wrapping his long arms around her. "How's my wittle girl doing?"
"Very well, dad. Sorry, I didn't come back last night, something happened." Charlie said as she ended the hug with her father, her chest becoming tight with nerves as she saw Lilith.
Lilith surprised Charlie with a hug and kiss on the forehead.
"Tells us about that later, dear, because we have something to discuss with you." Lilith said in a tone Charlie couldn't figure out.
Happy?
Neutral?
Upset?
It was hard to tell.
"Okay… what is it?" Charlie asked as Lucifer used magic to summon a file of paperwork.
He handed it to Charlie, who took it, opening it as Lucifer walked over to Lilith, putting his arm around her waist as Charlie read the file.
Charlie's eyes widened.
"You're kidding?"
"Nope…" Lucifer said with a toothy grin, giving Charlie a thumbs up. "You're getting your own house, Kiddo."
Charlie felt excited and nervousness at once.
"But why?" she asked in a forced calm tone.
"Charlie," Lilith said with a bright smile, something that Charlie hasn't seen in nearly a year. "The last ten-ish months… I've been to over protective, scared, and untrusting. I talked about this with Lucifer, and we came to an agreement. To allow you see that I do trust you…" Lilith's body language spoke volumes, from her mild timid gestures. "And want you to continue growing into the strong young woman you've shown me you are."
Charlie threw her arms around her parents.
"I LOVE YOU!" She shouted, tears in her eyes.
The King and Queen hugged the Princess.
For the first time in nearly a year, the Royal family felt like a family again.
Chapter 10, DONE!
This chapter was a nice calm after a storm.
Last chapter, showed how crazy devoted Mirko is to Naruto… and now she makes fun and humiliates him. Snicker.
Kaguya bluntly reinforces the story of how she literally found Naruto as a baby, and why she calls him Stupid Boy. Yes, I will try to keep that up, I feel it is something that works with their dynamic, especially as Naruto gets older.
Naruto asking Charlie to prove that she isn't like Lucifer and won't sacrifice him. Also, the weight Charlie feels? What could that be? Hm… keep reading to find out.
Finally, Lilith is not being a paranoid/overly extreme worry wart. Well, I hope that is what got across.
Today was an off day, took me much longer to write, due to being mentally exhausted from work and the heat. Hopefully, it didn't affect the chapter too much.
