B&B OF LOVE AND FUN-24
Hello everyone. Good to be with you again. We had a long, whole week break and I left you with a cliffhanger, so it's about time to continue. There are quite a lot of things, that I wish to squeeze in this chapter, so without further delay, here we go. Hope you will like it.
Elsie was amazed, with what she just heard from her best friend. Given how much in love Beryl was and how she was looking forward to the wedding, it was upsetting to learn, that all of the sudden she doesn't want to marry Bill Mason.
"Beryl I don't understand. What happened?"
"Bill Mason happened. The most stubborn and narrow minded man that I have ever met. I can't believe, that I was actually thinking about marrying him..."
"But few hours ago you were happy and full of anticipation..What could happen since then?"
Beryl was pacing the room impatiently, looking like she wanted to kill someone...
"Elsie I'm not sure, if I even want to discuss it..."
"I think that it would help you. Please sit and calm down...Those nerves are not good for you..."
Beryl sat down, trying to get herself together. The anger on her face was still rather visible..
"You wouldn't believe what he told me today..."
"I have no idea, tell me what.."
"We were discussing our future situation in the marriage and out of the sudden, Bill told me, that even though he agrees to live here with us, he does not feel comfortable with it, because he thinks, that it's not a good situation, when a wife has her own money and she is running a business, while he is almost retired...I told him, that it doesn't matter for me, because I want our marriage to be the marriage of equals- like you and Charles are, but he said that those modern views are not his style and he thinks, that husband should decide about most of the things in marriage..."
"Oh my...What did you do when he said that?"
"I told him, that if he feels that way, he should marry someone else, because I do not intend to be a silent and obedient wife and I went away, slamming the door of the pub loudly..."
"Beryl...Maybe you should not be so overwhelmed with your anger, maybe it was a good thing to talk this over..."
"There is nothing to talk about...Would you let Charles say something like that to you?"
"It's different with us Beryl...Charles thinks, that he is the boss in this marriage, but he is not... In reality, I'm the one making important decisions, I just let him think that he does it..."
"But still, Charles respects you and he always values your opinions...He would never tell you to quit your job and be just his wife.."
"No, he wouldn't, because we both love to work together..."
"You see? This is exactly my point...You are doing everything together and I suspect, that Bill expects that after a while, I will quit my job and just be Mrs Mason..."
"But you want to be Mrs Mason..."
"I do, but not at such cost Elsie...I do not agree to something like that...Thank you for listening to me, but if you don't mind, I would like to be alone now..."
"All right Beryl, but if you need something, just let me know..."
"I will, thank you..."
Few moments later...
"So she just ran away, not talking to him about it? Without explaining this situation?"
"It looks like it Charlie...I feel bad for her, she wants this marriage so much and now this..."
"Maybe they can still clear that up, who knows?"
"Maybe, but you know Beryl...She is stubborn as hell...Almost as stubborn as you Charlie..."
"Hey! I'm not...Well, all right, maybe sometimes...Oh Elsie, I know that it sounds awful, but I'm glad, that we are so happy together, I wouldn't be able to live without you, if we had a fight like this..."
"Fortunately Charlie, you have a very tolerant wife, who got to know all your difficult character and she decided to marry you anyway..."
"I am truly a lucky man indeed..."
Charles kissed Elsie's temples lovingly and drew her closer...They were hugging each other with love, thinking how blessed they were to have each other...
Few days later...
Elsie's heart was broken, seeing how much this situation has hurt Beryl...Very quickly, her anger transferred into sadness...She didn't neglect her duties, on the contrary, she was working twice as hard, which was a good thing for the B&B, with new waves of guests coming, but her usual enthusiasm has disappeared...It was like she lost a will to be happy and energetic...
Elsie and Charles saw that, but they never spoke with Beryl about it...Katie was sad, seeing her beloved auntie in that state and Elsie couldn't get rid of the thought, that she has to help Beryl in some way. Bill Mason has not shown himself here, like Elsie thought he would and the situation remained unresolved.. Finally, seeing Beryl totally devastated, Elsie decided, that things cannot be the way they were now and she went to visit Bill Mason's farm...Without saying a word to Beryl or Charles...
She simply needed to help two of her close friends, to deal with this situation...
Bill Mason was very happy when she came, he offered tea and a plate of scones...After exchanging few pleasantries, Elsie got to the point of her visit...
"Mr Mason, I suppose you know why I came to visit you..."
"Yes...It is about my fight with Beryl. She has told you everything, didn't she?"
"She did and I was very surprised, finding out, that you expect her to be just an obedient wife in this marriage...You must have know by now, that Beryl is not that kind of woman.."
"So this is what she told you?"
"Wasn't that the reason of your fight?"
"It was, but I'm afraid that it's one big misunderstanding...You see, I intend to move into B&B. I will still work at the farm, but I expect, that Andy will soon take it from me, so I know, that from people's point of view, it will look like I'm just my wife's husband and I didn't want Beryl to feel bad about it.."
"Now, I'm amazed I must say...This is not how Beryl understood that at all...She claimed, that you have a problem, with her being a part of the B&B and that you will want her to be just your wife..."
"No, no...How could I? Beryl is a great cook and I'm proud of your business...I've been telling that to her all the time...I just wanted to tell her, that even though I think that a husband should be the head in the marriage, I do not intend to tell her what to do...I was going to say, that I may still do something for the B&B, to have some share in your success and before I could do it, she simply ran away..."
"You know Beryl...She has a golden heart but her temper..."
"I know...Just like her red hair, her temper is truly fiery..."
"But I don't understand...Since you knew that it was misunderstanding, why didn't you come to explain this?"
"Because Mrs Carson, just like you, I know her very well...I knew, that she was very angry and I wanted to wait few days, to let her cool off..."
"She is calm now, but very sad...She thinks that the wedding is off..."
"She does? Oh no, that can never happen...What can I do?"
"I think that the best solution would be, to go with me to our B&B right now and explain everything... She really wants this marriage to happen..."
"So do I...I can't live without her...Can I go with you now? You don't think, that she will throw me out?"
"I think that she will be glad to see you...Let's go now.."
A little while later...
"Beryl, there is someone, who really wants to see you..."
"Who can that be? Well...Bill Mason...You came..."
"Of course I came Beryl...We have to talk..."
"I will leave you in peace now..."
Elsie discreetly left the room and paced towards Charles's pantry, letting Katie know on the way, that she should not go to the kitchen for a while...She went into the pantry and told Charles, what was going on in the kitchen...Charles was in awe again, of Elsie's ability to resolve every existing problem.
Just as Elsie, he was very worried about Beryl, seeing how unhappy she was...They both sat quietly and in tension, waiting if they will hear some sounds of fight, coming from the kitchen..Luckily, everything seems to go well and after a while, which seemed like eternity, Katie knocked on the door, telling Elsie, that auntie Beryl asks her to go to the kitchen.
Elsie winked to Charles and she went, wondering, what she will find there. To her tremendous relief, she found two very happy people, grateful for her help...
"Elsie, I wanted to kill you few moments ago, but now I can't thank you enough..."-Beryl was radiating with happiness...
"Yes, I agree with my wonderful fiancée. Thank you very much Mrs Carson...You have definitely saved us..."
"It's been my pleasure...It was awful to see you separated, fighting over some insignificant things, when clearly you just belong together..."
"We decided, that we will not push our luck anymore...I will try to complete all the formalities, so we can marry as soon as possible..."-Bill Mason was an image of proud and happy man...
"I'm so happy...For both of you..."
"You made it happen Elsie...We are grateful..You will be our guest of honor..."
"I definitely agree with that thought...Now if you will excuse me my lovely ladies...I have to get back to the farm...I'm expecting a vet soon..."
Bill left and Beryl turned to Elsie...
"Elsie, you are a guardian angel...If it wasn't for you, my stubbornness and Bill's fear of my anger, could deprive us of a happy future..."
"Oh Beryl, the most important thing is that you are happy...That is the only thing that I care about..."
"Is there anything I can do for you Elsie? Because I'm so grateful, that whatever you wish, I will make it come true..."
"Actually there is one thing Beryl...Please do not laugh..."
"I will try not to..."
"Can you please teach me how to make a perfect apple pie? We have such beautiful apples in our garden and you know how much Charles adores it...I promised him, that I will make it for him..."
"You really love that old grump of yours, don't you?"
"I really do...So will you teach me? You will give me directions and I will make it with your help.."
"Of course Elsie...Whenever you are ready..."
Few days later in the kitchen...
"For heaven sakes Elsie!...Do not do it like that, you will ruin the cake...No, you have to slice the apples to smaller pieces, otherwise the poor man will choke with it..."
Elsie felt like she was in the middle of a nightmare...Beryl was rolling her eyes more than once, watching clumsy efforts of her friend, to make a perfect apple pie...Charles was instructed, to stay out of the kitchen, but he felt sorry for Elsie, knowing Beryl's temper...
That seemed to be the longest few hours Elsie has lived through...But when the apple pie was finally ready, they both had to admit, that it was perfect...
Elsie thanked Beryl for her patience, once again realizing, that kitchen was not her natural environment... Beryl was happy, that it was already behind her...She and Katie were going to visit Mr Mason, Andy and Daisy on the farm.
When they left, Elsie called Charles to the kitchen and she served him tea and her masterpiece, with real pride in her eyes...
Charles couldn't believe his own luck...Elsie indeed promised him the apple pie, but he didn't think, that it will become real, especially not today, after hearing all the harsh Beryl remarks coming from the kitchen...He began to think, that this cake will be a disaster and now, he was actually sitting by the table, eating it with great appetite...
"Elsie, I'm so proud of you...I never thought that you will make it..."
"I have to admit, that it certainly wasn't an easy job...You should have seen Beryl...She looked like she wanted to strangle me, for not being as efficient in the kitchen as she is..."
"She had a debt of gratitude to you, so she should be more understanding..."
"You know her...Beryl is Beryl..."
"I do...Where is she now? Did she need to have some rest, after spending few hours with you in the kitchen?"
"Looks like it, she went to visit Mr Mason, Andy and Daisy on the farm...Katie went with her..."
"That means that we are all alone..."
"Looks like it..."
"Finally..."
Charles drew Elsie closer and he sat her on his knees...She wrapped her arms around his neck and they connected with a kiss, a very long, hot and passionate kiss...Charles held Elsie very tightly, like he never wanted to let her go...
"Mmm...That was wonderful..I see that my husband really missed me..."
"I have...Very much...In all this commotion of the last few days, we didn't have time for each other and as I believe, we have some unfinished business to do..."
"That is true my dear husband, but before we do, I would like your opinion about my first apple pie..."
"The best apple pie I ever ate in my life..."
"You are not just saying that?"
"Nope Elsie...This is the truth...Beryl is a good teacher and the apple pie is exactly the way I like it- warm and delicious...But now my love, I would want one more thing..."
"What's that?"
"Something from my wife, that is also warm and delicious..."
Elsie's face was flushed, as she understood what Charles meant...
"I see that I made you my blushing bride again, how lovely is that...?"-Charles's lips travelled along Elsie's neck, which made her feel like a clay in his hands...
"When you say things like that Charlie..."
"I think that I have said enough sweetheart, now it's time for action..."
Without any delay, Charles led Elsie to their bedroom, locking the door behind them...He put her on the bed and got ride of unnecessary layers of clothes, dividing them...Few moments later, he was enjoying his "something warm and delicious", to the point which caused, that Elsie was writhing on the bed, moaning shamelessly...
"Oh Charlie...God...More..Please..."
"Yes my love...Your wish is my command...I was right...Warm and so delicious...The most delicious thing, that I have ever tasted..."
Few more moments and Elsie was in heaven, forgetting everything, while her husband skills, drove her to utter ecstasy...
His kisses went up, through her belly, breasts, neck, straight to her lips...They were kissing passionately, until losing their breaths...
"Elsie...Now can I get an evaluation?"
"I will only say Charlie, that from now on, I will bake you an apple pie, as often as you will like it, if it means such sweet reward..."
"It's a deal then wifey..."
And the Oscar goes to Charles ;-) Well, he really had to reward Elsie for the trouble of making an apple pie, didn't he? I think, that Elsie is totally satisfied with his reward...(wink, wink)...That was quite a long chapter, but I wanted to end the misunderstanding between Bill and Beryl and of course, who could come to the rescue, if not Elsie? I hope that you liked this chapter, because I sure had fun writing it...Thanks for reading and have a wonderful week!
