"This was an amazing day," Nathan said softly, his mind meandering through all that had happened since he woke up this morning.

"It really was," Elizabeth replied dreamily, leaning in closer and putting her head on his shoulder. The familiar action brought a lovestruck smile to his face and the same wave of contentment and deep love as the very first time she had done this simple but endearing gesture.

The two sat close together on the front steps, an unassuming location that would forever be engrained in the very fibres of their love. Above them, the stars shone in unmatched splendor, twinkling and glowing over the just married Mr and Mrs Grant.

"It's written in the stars," Elizabeth barely whispered.

"What's that?" Nathan questioned, looking down at his bride.

"It's something Rosemary told me this Summer. When I was wondering if you could still love me," Elizabeth explained, her honest confession surprising Nathan and warming his heart.

"And now you know. I loved you for every single second and I will love you forever." He kissed her forehead and turned to look back up at the full moon shining over them.

Elizabeth sat up just enough to place a kiss on his cheek causing Nathan to turn toward her. They paused. Long gone were the days of stolen glances at each other's lips for now they captured kisses whenever they pleased but in this moment, they spoke with their eyes once more. All the love, the longing, the depth, the height, the wonder was wrapped up in their ocean blue gaze.

Nathan moved slowly and deliberately, placing his hand against the side of her face, his fingers entwined in her hair, and gently pulled her in for a lingering kiss.

Resting his forehead against hers, Nathan spoke again in a hushed tone, "Here we are."

"Here we are," Elizabeth repeated in a murmur before leaning in to kiss him again.
