B&B OF LOVE AND FUN-35
Hello all. Thank you very much for all your wonderful reviews after yesterday's chapter. It's so nice, that you are still into this story. As you remember, our fabulous four is going to Scotland, so let's go with them and see what adventures they have in store ;-) Hope you will like it.
They left to Scotland within two weeks, Elsie organized everything herself, as she wanted to be sure, that the trip will be perfect, in every way possible. She found a nice little hotel, which had very good reviews, close to the village in which she grew up.
She was very anxious to take a trip down the memory lane and she was happy, that she will be accompanied by the closest people.
Of course Charles had his portion of nagging about Beryl and Bill coming with them, but Elsie swiflty persuaded him, that this will be a fun trip, so he just let go of his anxieties.
Now, they were finally here and Elsie was over the moon, about breathing with Scottish air again, about seeing all those wonderful landscapes, that were so dear to her heart. She left Scotland many years ago, but deep down inside, she was still that Scottish girl, who was raised among cold lakes, chilly air and the moors.
Charles was curious about this trip and he saw and understood, how much it meant for Elsie. He noticed, that few times she had tears in her eyes, especially when they visited places, which were so well known to her. She was the last living member of her family and to be in all those places again, where she grew up, was something amazingly precious.
They were all very happy about the hotel, which Elsie booked for them. The rooms were bright and comfortable, with beautiful views outside, the service was excellent and the food was delicious. Charles and Elsie have been joking, seeing Beryl's appetite, she was eating like a horse here. Her explanation about fresh Scottish air stimulating her appetite were funny and they often had to hide a laugh, sitting with Beryl and Bill at dinner time.
Even though they came to the trip together, Charles was doing everything he could, to make those two, separate trips. He discreetly organized their activities that way, so he and Elsie could spend more time together.
He wanted to have her all to himself...They were doing long walks together, during which Elsie was telling him stories from her childhood, she was reminiscing good old times, wondering, who of her old friends was still alive.
Charles gladly listened to those stories and he was beaming with joy, seeing her relaxed and happy face. In the evenings, they were cuddling or making love, having the time of their life and they were rocked to sleep by Beryl's snoring, which they unfortunately could hear, through not so thick wall of the hotel room, which they happened to be sharing.
On one afternoon, Charles took Elsie to the moors and he surprised her once more, picking a bouqet of heather for her...While she was sitting and warming herself in the rays of the afternoon sun...
When she opened her eyes, she saw Charles with a bouqet of white and violet heather, looking at her with the look on his face, that she liked to call "puppy eyes"...
"Charlie, are these for me? So lovely, thank you..."
"Of course they are for you...The most traditional symbol of Scotland, for the most beautiful Scottish wife...Elsie...I have to confess something..."
"What's that?"
"That I wasn't completely convinced to come here...Especially, when Beryl and Bill pushed in, but I have to say, that I really like in here...I mean in Scotland..."
"That's quite a compliment from a man who is a quintessence of England..."
"Am I really?"
"Oh Charlie, I can't think of anyone more English than you my love..."
"But being English, didn't stop me from marrying my Scottish sweetheart and that was the best decision of my life..."
Elsie kissed him tenderly...She took this curl from his forehead, with a loving gesture...It was wonderful to be away from everyday duties, carefree and alone, among the heart of Scotland...
"And I wouldn't want any other man to be my husband, but you...My handsome English gentelman..."
"So you prefer me, than your old Scottish beau Joe Burns? Speaking of which, I'm glad that visiting your village, we didn't run into him..."
"Why particularly Charlie? Do you still see him as a threat to yourself?"
"Well, maybe not a threat, but I definitely wouldn't want to meet him..."
"And I would like to meet him..."
"Elsie?!"
"Relax my love...It's not what you think...It's just that I love when you are jealous about me...It makes me feel so...Loved..."
"You don't need my jealousy, to know how much I love you Elsie...I'm proving that everyday..."
"You are...And as for Joe...You have nothing to worry about...There is a reason, why I rejected his proposal twice..."
"And the reason would be?"
"Do not be vain my love...You know the reason very well...You are seeing it in the mirror everyday..."
"In that case, now I would like to change my mind and meet Joe..."
"And why is that?"
"Because I would like to tell him, that I won the match and got the prize that he wanted so much.."
"So, I am a prize, huh?"
"Yes love...The most beautiful prize, the most precious one...And whole mine...Only mine..."
"Always Charlie...Always..."
A loving kiss, was an icing on the cake for this afternoon...
Later, in the evening, dinner time...
Elsie was poking Charles jokingly, under the dinner table, everytime Beryl was adding an extra portion of food on her plate...It was simply unbelievable, how those vacation made Beryl turned into a person who had absolutely no limits in eating and drinking...Not only was she eating like a horse, but she was also tasting Scotch, with a great doze of willingness..
Charles barely stopped himself from laughter, seeing what was happening...Bill was the only one, who didn't seem to mind his wife's appetite...Moreover, he gave her his leftovers...
Elsie and Charles were doing everything they could, to stop themselves from laughing, but at one point of the night, it almost became impossible, especially when Beryl asked the innocent question:
"Elsie, are you not going to eat those potatoes anymore? Because if you are not, I can finish it for you.."
"Be my guest Beryl..."-Elsie smiled, feeling that she simply can't look at Charles in this moment, because she is going to burst with uncontrollable laughter...
"Oh! I forgot..."-Beryl mumbled with her mouth full of food...Today we were walking outside the pub near the hotel and they had a poster, saying that tonight is the bog hooley in there, so I thought, why we could not go there all together? Don't you think that it would be great fun?"
"Well Beryl, I hardly think that..."-Charles started, but was soon interrupted by Elsie...
"Of course Beryl...We can check it out...We all had quite a nice time on our weddin reception, didn't we Charles?"
"Erm...We did...Why not?"
They indeed went to a hooley together and it was a big challenge for Charles especially...Beryl and Bill were having a great time and you could think, that Beryl was a life of the party, as she was the one conducting the hooley...Bill seemed to have wonderful time too...
Elsie was initially hesitant, but she soon joined the party, which so reminded her of her youth, carefree years...
Charles barely survived this whole thing, but he kept a straight face, not wanting to spoil the party, for the rest of the trip. He quietly sighed with relief, when they came back to the hotel, late at night...
Elsie was so exhausted, that she fell asleep immediately, which was more than could be said about Charles...
When Elsie woke up in the middle of the night, she saw Charles lying in the bed, covering his ears with the pillows...
"Charlie? What's going on? Why are you awake?"
"You can ask your friend Elsie...She has effectively unabled me to fall asleep..."
"What do you mean?"
"Just listen Elsie...Do you really not hear those noises?"
Elsie listened carefully and after a while, she understood what Charles meant...The night was quiet, so all the noises were particularly well heard...Especially those kind of noises, which clearly indicated, that Beryl and Bill were surely not sleeping that night...
"Oh my! They are naught tonight, aren't they?"
"Let me put it that way Elsie...I'm hearing more than I would like to hear...One thing is certain... I will definitely not sleep a wink tonight..."
"In that case sweetie..I think that I have a perfect solution for that.."
"Which is?"
"To do the same kind of noises as we hear over the wall...What do you say?"
"I will never say no to such offer..."
That's all for today...Whoa...What a trip...They are certainly having fun, each in their own way... I wanted to give them some relaxing time, they surely deserved it...Hope you had fun reading this piece. Have a very good week!
