Julia and her Papa watched, half-amused and half-worried, as her dad argued with his mother, Julia's grandmother.

"Ma, you can't be serious," Dad said for what felt like the thousandth time. "You want to go to that college reunion just to send fear into the hearts of your old students?!"

"I was invited, Oliver," Grandmother reminded him.

"Yes, I know, by your favourite student, the multimillionaire Vlad Masters! But you have to think of your health."

Lauren scoffed and crossed her arms. "My boy, the treatment is going well, and the doctors said I can travel. What more do you want?"

"That you take it seriously. Cancer is not something to take lightly!", he shot back.

"Alright, alright," intervened Papa, trying to mediate between the arguing mother and son. "We're all tired and stressed. Let's discuss this tomorrow, alright?"

"Karl, my dear, you are my favourite son-in-law, but—"

"I'm your only son-in-law, Lauren," he replied.

"As I was saying… I don't need your or my stubborn son's permission to travel to Wisconsin. I WILL go, and that's final!"

Karl and Oliver exchanged glances and sighed.

"You really would travel alone?" asked Oliver.

"You know your mother, Oliver," was her response.

Irritated, Oliver raised his arms in the air. "Alright, alright, then go! Sorry for worrying about you and not wanting you to die!"

With that, the blond-haired man stormed off to his bedroom, followed closely by his red-haired husband, who went to calm him down.

Lauren shook her head and sat down beside Julia on the couch.

The girl seized the moment to cuddle up to her grandmother.

"Grandma… the trip won't kill you, right?", she asked, worry evident in her voice.

"Oh, my little sweet tomato, don't worry," Grandmother cooed as she hugged her back. "I wouldn't risk my life. I still want to see you get married one day. I will win against cancer."

Still unsure, Julia hugged her grandmother tighter, inhaling the sweet scent of apple blossom and cinnamon.

Grandmother hummed softly. "Why don't you come with me? Would that make you feel better?"

"Really? I can come?", Julia asked, her eyes wide with excitement.

"I need a plus-one, and who better than my favourite granddaughter!"

"But I'm your only granddaughter, Grandma."

"Hush, my little tomato," she replied with a playful smile.

This made both of them chuckle.

(*)

Eventually, Julia's dads allowed her to accompany her Grandma to the college reunion.

Julia sensed they believed that with her by her grandmother's side, the elderly lady wouldn't overstrain herself.

Well, she hoped so too.

They took a plane to Wisconsin and arrived punctually at the castle of Vlad Masters.

"How wealthy is your former pupil?", Julia asked her Grandma, marvelling as the taxi drove them to the castle entrance.

"Very wealthy; if I'm not mistaken, he's the richest man in the world," her grandmother replied.

As the taxi stopped, the grand door opened, and a man in his 40s with grey hair pulled back in a ponytail and a tailored suit stepped out.

"Ah, Professor Evans! It's a great joy to see you again," he greeted warmly. He descended the stairs and helped them with their two suitcases.

"Masters, ever the gentleman. Good to see you well, boy," Grandma replied, returning the greeting.

"Thank you, Professor. And this beautiful young lady must be your granddaughter, right?". he said, looking at Julia.

Julia smiled back, extending her hand. "It's nice to meet you, Mr. Masters. I'm Julia."

"What a lovely name! Please, let me handle your suitcases. My wife is waiting for you inside," he said graciously.

They thanked him and entered the castle.

In the entrance hall, a beautiful blonde woman awaited them.

It was clear she came from wealth; her hair was perfectly styled in a chignon, and she wore pearl earrings and a matching necklace.

Her purple long-sleeved cashmere pullover hugged her curves, accentuated by a black leather belt at her waist and a knee-length dark purple skirt with black pumps.

"Professor Lauren Evans and Julia, right?" she said with a friendly smile, shaking their hands. "I'm Adeline Axion-Masters, Vlad's wife and business partner. It's nice to meet you."

They responded in kind as Vlad returned with the suitcases.

"Darling.," he addressed his wife, "Why don't you escort our guests to the saloon for some tea and scones?"

"Splendid idea, darling. Please, follow me!"

Julia soon found herself sipping tea and eating scones while listening to her Grandma discuss rather dull business matters with Mrs. Masters.

It didn't get any more exciting when Mr. Masters joined them.

How Julia wished Danny, Sam, and Tucker were there with her.

How was she going to survive this boring weekend without them?

At least the food was good—one point in its favour.

The college reunion would take place tomorrow; she hoped she could make it through the long evening before boredom completely overwhelmed her.

It was then that they heard the castle doorbell ring.

Mr. Masters got up with a smile.

"Ah, this must be our other guests," he explained to Julia and her grandmother. "Professor Evans, you surely remember Madeline Williams and Jack Fenton?"

"Fenton?", Julia mumbled, a sudden realization hitting her. Could it be...?

Meanwhile, her grandmother wore a wicked smirk. "Ah, Madeline, smart girl, and of course, Fenton. I wonder if the boy is still scared of me," she chuckled.

Vlad joined in her laughter.

"Would you like to greet them with me, Professor?", Mr. Masters asked.

"Oh, I certainly will!"

Mrs. Masters also stood up. "I'm excited to meet your old friends, darling. We should all go."

Julia followed the adults, and Mr. Masters opened the door to reveal… Mrs. Fenton, Danny, and Jazz?!

"Danny, Jazz, Mrs. Fenton, hi!" Julia exclaimed as she rushed over and hugged Danny.

Surprised, he hugged his friend back.

"Julie, what are you doing here?!", he asked.

His question was answered by his mother and an old, pretty lady.

"Professor Evans!", gasped Maddie, embracing her old professor. "How wonderful to see you! It's been so long."

"Madeline Williams, the years have been kind to you. Now tell me, why is my granddaughter hugging your children, I assume?"

That's when Maddie noticed Julia, who was now hugging Jazz.

"Oh, Julia! You are Professor Evans' granddaughter?"

"Wait a second—THE Professor Evans, the one my dad is so scared of, is Julia's grandmother?", Jazz deduced correctly.

"Oh, so you must be the Danny my tomato likes to talk about!", Professor Evans said to Danny.

"Grandma!" Julia hissed in embarrassment, her cheeks turning red.

Not only was it awkward that her grandma used her pet name, but Danny shouldn't know how much she liked to talk about him.

She might have a tiny, tiny crush on him, okay?

Danny blushed and blinked at Julia.

"You talk about me?"., he asked, his eyes wide.

"Like you don't wax poetry about Julia's pretty red hair," Jazz sassed back, grinning.

Now Julia turned to Danny, surprised. "You like my hair?"

Both of them were red as tomatoes, shyly looking away from each other. Maddie laughed softly, enjoying their embarrassment.

They were so cute!

"How small the world is! So, you live in Amity Park like us, Professor Evans?", Maddie asked.

"Yes, with my son, his husband, and their daughter—Julia here. But I can guess why we didn't meet earlier; I have cancer and was mostly in the hospital," she replied.

"Oh, I am so sorry to hear that, Professor.", Maddie said sympathetically.

"Don't worry about me, Maddie. I'm on the mend, or I wouldn't be here," she reassured her.

At that moment, Vlad and Adeline joined them.

"Maddie, this is my wife, Adeline. Adeline, this is Maddie, my old friend," Vlad introduced them.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Maddie," said Adeline, shaking her hand. "I've heard so much about you from Vlad."

"It's nice to meet you too, Adeline," Maddie replied, smiling.

Meanwhile, Jazz looked around the castle entrance and frowned.

"What's with the green and gold? You're billionaires! Surely you could afford an interior designer."

Thankful for his sister's question, Danny answered: "Jazz, hello? Football helmets, jerseys, cheeseheads? One of them is a Packers fanatic."

Vlad wraps an arm around Adeline's waist and raises a hand.

"Oh, "fanatic" is such a negative word. But, yes. And I am lucky my wife accepts this side of me."

Adeline just smiles.

"I don't understand. You havebillionsof dollars! Instead of buying this stuff, why don't you just buy the team?", wonders Jazz.

"Because the Packers are owned by the city of Green Bay and they won't sell them to me!", shouts Vlad irritated and let's go off Adeline.

All besides his wife, she must have heard this already often enough, looked surprised at him.

Seeing the looks Vlad regains cool and looks at Maddie next to him.

"One oftwothings my wealth has not as of yet...been able to acquire."

Maddie smiles innocently at him, while the others have different reactions.

"Is he hitting on Mom?", whisper-shouts Danny.

"Before his wife?", adds Julia.

"Mmh, I see that crush is still going strong.", nods Julia's Grandma wise.

"As long as he's got working toilets, and Mom says no, who cares?", states Jazz simply and walks away to look around.

Adeline coughs and Vlad stops to look at Maddie.

As if he didn't do anything wrong he rejoins his wife's side.

"I'd better let Jack in.", says Maddie into the round and walks up to the castle door.

"Grandma, has Mr Masters really a crush on Mrs Fenton?", whisper Julia to her.

"Oh indeed, but Maddie had only eyes for Jack, but that he has the nerve to try to flirt with her while he is married, is incredible. I wonder if he and his wife have that sort of agreement going on where they can see other people.", mussed Lauren.

"Oh my god, really?", gasped Julia. "That's like a soap opera!"

While Grandmother and Granddaughter discuss quietly the strange Masters couple Danny sees an autographed football.

"Whoa, cool!"

"Indeed.", agrees Vlad and hugs the football to his face. "This ball was autographed by the legendary Ray Nitschke himself. It's my prized possession."

"Heads up, V-Man!", is suddenly heard the shout of Jack Fenton. He barges in tackles Vlad to the ground and grabs the football. "Ha! I see you've still got the old moves."

The heavys-set man stands up, like an irritated Vlad.

"Give me that!", he shouts and takes the football from Jack to place it back on its pedestal. "I neverhadany old moves! All those years in the hospital robbed me of that!"

The Fenton family and the Evans Heinrich look at Vlad silently, surprised and worried over his outburst.

Adeline goes to her husband and lays a hand on his shoulder, which calms him down.

"Yes. Well, it gave me time to chart out a course for my life, didn't it? Made some decisions that helped to make me very wealthy, very quickly. And it never would have happened without you, Jack."

"Uh, yeah...maybe we should go.", finds Maddie feeling uncomfortable.

"No, no, you should stay with us!", disagrees Vlad and wrap an arm around Jack's shoulders. "That's the whole reason I'm throwing the reunion here in my castle - previously home to the legendary Wisconsin Dairy King. Just so I could...reconnect with you, Jack. I insist you stay."

"Well, I don't know. We do have a really cool RV.", says Jack.

Jazz fakes a cough: "Let's stay here!"

"Smooth.", sasses Danny, sliding a hand through the air.

"You know, Jack, the Dairy King's ghost could haunt these very halls...", sing-songs Vlad.

"I'll get the bags!"

As Jack makes his way to run back outside he sees finally Profesor Evans.

He goes so white in the face, that you could think he is a ghost.

"Professor Evans! You are here too?", he stutters scared.

"Hello Fenton, I'm still waiting on your final paper.", says Julia's Grandmother smoothly with crossed arms.

"I-I-I will have it ready on Monday, I promise!"

"Mmh, mmh, of course you will."

Smiling arkwark Jack sprints outside.

"Grandma what did you do to poor Mr Fenton?", asks Julia quietly.

"Not my fault the boy could never deliver in my course, I just made it clear that I don't accept failure."

The rest of the day and evening goes well.

Well, Mr Fenton still is scared of Julia's grandmother, but the Masters are perfect hosts, especially Adeline, so the strange happenings as they meet are forgotten.

So Julia is more than annoyed when she wakes up because her necklace burns.

"I can never catch a break!", she mutters, before she transforms into Julie Cosmos.

Cosmos finds Phantom treating some ghost vultures, who fly away in fright.

"Okay. That was almosttooeasy.", states Phantom.

"I will say.", Cosmos flies up to him and lays a hand on his shoulder. "Are these the ghosts you told us were after your dad?"

"Yes, but why did they fly away so suddenly?"

That's when Cosmos feels a shiver going down her spine, she turns around and stares at the darkness of the corridor they are in.

"Phantom...something is wrong...", she warns him.

He follows her example and looks into the darkness.

They hear two ominous chuckles.

"May, what a smart girl.", purrs a woman.

The strangers fly out of the darkness.

Phantom looks unimpressed at the white-clad man in a cape with sharp teeth and red eyes.

Just another ghost.

Same with the female beside him, she may have pink skin, eyes, and hair and also horns, bat wings and a tail, clothed in black leather, but they were just ghosts.

"Oh, whatever. I was aiming for the birds, but you'll do.", says Phantom confident.

The adult ghosts raise their eyebrows in amusement.

"No! Danny wait!", screams Cosmos.

Other than him she can literally feel how powerful these two are. Especially the woman.

It's too late Phantom attacks the male ghost with a powerful punch only to get stopped by his fist in midair.

Phantom is surprised, and the male adult ghost flings him hard against a wall.

Painful he slides down the wall and lands on a table, grabbing his head dizzily.

"Danny!", shouts Cosmos and wants to help him, but the female adult ghost stops her by gripping her by her black ponytail and swings her away.

Cosmos goes flying through several rooms but manages to get intangible, till the female adult ghost goes up behind her and smacks her on the ground.

Crying in pain Cosmos rolls herself into a ball.

"So that is all what the Wearer of Nyx Necklace can do?", laughs the adult female. "You are a disgrace Julie Cosmos."

"You know my name?", whines Cosmos painfully.

"Of course I do, I and my partner know what you and your partner Danny Phantom are doing. The two ghosts, who use their powers for good. How adorable!"

"You..you are not a normal ghost...", states Cosmos slowly sitting up. "You are more...that unnatural darkness was you!"

"Indeed I am, you are at least smart.", giggles the woman and holds up a golden Mirror. "Thanks to this I can turn into a succubus!"

Fearful Cosmos gasped.

"A-A-A succubus... you are a demon?!"

"Correct again, not that it will help you much!"

With an evil smirk, the Succubus attacks Cosmos so brutally and hard that in the end she faints and transforms back.

This makes the Succubus stop.

"The ghost girl is little Julia."

Black Mist encircles the Succubus and returns her to her human form.

Adeline Axion-Masters!

"How very interesting..."

The blond picks Julia up and walks her back to her room.

She makes sure she is tucked in before Adeline turns to exit the room.

"No stop!", screams Julia at the moment and sits shocked up in her bed. What the? How did she end up here?

"Are you alright, Julia?", ask Mrs Masters worried.

"Oh Mrs Masters I am sorry if I woke you up...I must have had a bad dream."

"It's alright, Little One, sleep now."

Julia nods and falls back on the bed, while Adeline steps out of the room.

The blond-haired woman has to tell her husband her findings.

(*)

The next evening Danny and Julia are dressed in their prom clothes, since these are the best clothes they own, and follow their guardians around the College Reunion Party.

Julia is amused at how many of these adults are still scared of her grandmother.

Later that evening she finds Danny sitting bored out of his mind sitting at one of the tables.

"What's up, Danny?", she asks.

"Besides Dad making a fool of himself, nothing.", he replies and points at Mr Fenton who wildly pogos around.

"Yikes, at least Grandma only scares with her presence her former students."

"Lucky you."

"Oh come on Danny!", says Julia and grabs him by the arm. "Let's have some fun and dance too!"

"I'm not dancing to Pogo!"

Right on time a slow dance song plays, which makes Julia smile at Danny.

"See, the universe wants you to dance with me."

Okay, this makes him laugh.

Both find a quiet corner and sway to the beat.

"Aren't you gonna ask me if my pants will fall off?", jokes Danny in remembrance of their school dance.

Julia laughs brilliantly, which makes Danny blush.

She is so pretty when she laughs.

"Why? I'm too hot for you to handle?", Julia actually flirts and winks at him.

Both blush now and grin like idiots at each other.

Sadly the magic of the moment passes as Mr Masters walks up to them.

"Oh children, there you are. Could you do me a huge favour?"

"Sure Mr Masters.", answer Danny for them, while Julia nods.

They feel sad that their moment ended yet at the same time glad. They were too close to a border which friends normally don't pass and neither knew if they were ready to pass it.

"Could you go to my lab, second door on the right upstairs? There's a presents in there for your father and your grandmother that I'd like you two to bring down.", explains Mr Masters.

Of course, they can and make their way there, never seeing how Vlad smiles evilly.

In the lab arrived they looked around.

"Presents? I don't see presents.", grumbles Julia, as Danny makes a discovery that shooks him.

"Julia, look!"

Hearing the urgency in her friend's voice she joins him and looks down at the framed picture in his hands. It's clearly Mr Masters, Mrs Fenton and the face of Mr Fenton ripped off from their college days.

"What the?", wonders Julia, but can't ask more.

Both their Ghost Sense go off and they transform into Phantom and Cosmos.

The ghosts that grip each of them are the ectopuses!

"Hey, let go!", shout the Halfa's and kick each a ectopuses away.

"Those ghosts... They were two of the first ghosts we fought!", speaks Phantom out what also Cosmos thinks.

"And they're not alone, puppies."

Before they can react nets entrap them and shock them through it.

Then, the one responsible for the attack steps out of the shadows to reveal himself.

"Skulker?!"

The Halfa's break free from their nets and dopple-kick Skulker into some large tank-like units.

"How did you get back in your ecto-skeleton?", asks Phantom.

"And what are you doing here?", adds Cosmos.

"All excellent questions. Catch!"

Skulker rolls out two small black cubes towards Phantom and Cosmos which grows and traps them inside a large glowing box.

"Huh? Hey! I can't phase out of this. It's disrupting my powers!", shouts Phantom.

"Same with me!", tells him Cosmos.

"And that's not all they do.", grins Skulker.

He presses a button on his wrist and the boxes shock the teenagers, causing them to scream in pain and transform back into their human selves.

In a daze, Julia's head lols sideways, while Danny falls forward on the box, but Skulker picks it back up and holds out a glowing green blade from his wrist to the boy's neck.

"Uh, the glowing blade is new.", chuckles Danny nervous.

Julia wonders how he can make jokes right now, she feels too sick to do anything.

"You like it? I've had some upgrades!", tells Skulker casually before he laughs evilly. "Now..."

"Enough!", commands out of nowhere Mr Masters and steps with his wife into the lab. "I didn't free you to kill the boy, Skulker! Your work is done."

Skulker and Danny share a confused look, while Julia blinks before Skulker retracts the blade.

"Yes, well, I...", Skulker's PDA beeps and he reads aloud. "I've gotta go to the library and check out a book on a gorilla. Again!"

His jetpack activates and he flies up, phasing through the ceiling.

"Skulker? The ectopuses? I don't understand!", shouts Danny.

"What's going on here?!", demands Julia to know.

"Of course not. You're both, what, fourteen?", says Mr Masters walking around their two boxes, while Mrs Masters looks at them with cold blue eyes. "Too young to drive and not in college yet? I sent those ghosts, and others, to test your father's skills. Imagine my surprise when I findyou, thesecondghost hybrid his foolishness created and another like Adeline with an Item of the Ancients!"

"Second?"

"Another?"

The adult couple transform into the male ghost and Succubus from the night before!

"You! I'm going ghost!/Star, transform me!", cry the teens out their transform phrase, but nothing happens.

Not at the second time.

Neither at the third.

"Why can't we transform?", they choruse together.

Succubus laughs.

"Cute they have a battle cry, Plasmius."

Laughing Plasmius tells them how the boxes are spectral energy neutralizers and as long as they are in them, they are as human as stupid Jack Fenton.

Danny demands that they let them go, however the adult laughs.

Plasmius tells Danny he had his powers for twenty years, he could teach him, and he only needed to renounce his father.

Succubus holds her Mirror up and formally purrs: "Join us too Julia. I can teach you so much about your Necklace and what powers lay in it. You only have to renounce your family, they will only keep you away from your real potential."

Julia and Danny just deadpan at them.

"Dude, you are oneseriouslycrazed-up fruit loop.Thatisnevergoing to happen."

"Lady, you are just as crazy, I agree with Danny never will we join you."

Plasmius and Succubus take their no's lightly sure that they can sway them to their side once, their families are out of the way.

Together the married evil couple teleports away.

Our young heroes try to get out of the boxes, but it's no use.

They are imprisoned!

That's when the ghost of Dairy King floats down to them.

Danny first thinks he wants to harm them, however, the Dairy King frees them and explains that some ghosts are good and just want to live happily afterlife.

Our young heroes don't waste time and transform.

Phantom and Cosmos reach the party, which has transformed into a battle zone.

In the end, they can make a truce with Plasmius and Succubus, since they are too strong for them currently.

Phantom with Cosmos' support threatens to expose them all if they don't play along with them and what would his mother think of Plasmius if she knew he was an evil ghost?

It shows that in their partnership Plasmius is the leader since Succubus follows his lead and they dramatically state that Jack Fenton defeated them before they vanish in smoke.

But not without whispering to Phantom and COsmos that this wasn't over.

Yeah, both teens had this feeling too.

The Fenton are so nice to drive Julia and her grandmother with them back to Amity Park.

Good thing the Fenton Ghost RV was so big.

And for now, all is well again for them.

Just one thing.

When Julia arrives home, she tips into her computer anything about a mirror which turns someone into a succubus.

And then also Items of the Ancients.

For now, nothing came up, but she felt she was getting closer to the truth of her necklace.

One thing was sure: her necklace and Adeline Mirror weren't the only ones!
