Chapter 21
Meanwhile…
He paced about with worry.
Staying behind at the school. Hokus was staring out the window with concern. "They should be okay, it is just an invite to dinner!"
The Toorus have kept to a single room to be safe than sorry. They have other teachers that have been hired to monitor the students incase the family had to leave suddenly. Hell, right now, his nephew was being tended to by Kusakabe!
He turned to Jigoku. She was just as worried, for no parent has ever invited a teacher to their home for a meal, it's unheard of! And yet, he couldn't help but be worried. Hokus saw these parents arrive from the school, the father of Ryoto was a giant of a man, but he couldn't shake the feeling there was something more about him. But then, he froze.
"She looks like Yua, doesn't she?" he asked aloud.
At the time his father was there, when he saw this woman, he froze instantly and stumbled back from the window. "It is Yua!" he said. "She has her mother's smile, and her father's eyes… it HAS to be her!"
His father lingered outside of the room of the meeting, trying to hear everything, when suddenly Roark came out of the room with a rather startled look.
His was trembling. "It's not her… but it sounds like they know we are looking for her…" he explained.
"Are you certain?" Hokus demanded. "Are you sure about that brother? She is the spitting image of Yua!"
He nodded to this as well, but the fact remains that this woman had no reaction to him. "Yua should be able to sense us, right? I mean, how else will she know? Or does she have to be told by another?" Roark was running through the notions in his mind, wondering what to do and if this couple can be trusted.
"Ryoto's father isn't exactly making me feel at ease the least bit. There's something about him and yet… I can't shake the feeling his wife is of our blood. She's a Tooru, and yet… why does she look so much like my daughter?"
Hokus sighed to this. "So what now?"
"We are invited to dinner. He asked me to bring my wife and five other members with us…"
Hokus nodded. "Want me to go with you?"
He shook his head. "We need to prepare in case this is a trap. I want to bring mother and father along…"
Hokus understood, at the same time, he is also painfully aware that his technique isn't quite up to standard for battle. So it was decided that he took mother and father, his wife, Relian, Kiba and Suo along, and for insurance, he had Damian and Kira waiting in the wings. After all they have curse devices that work at tracers. Once they arrive at their location, the two will teleport there via device and ensure they have their backs…
That was four hours ago.
There hasn't been word from anyone since and now. He is growing concerned.
"Why did they agree to this? They should have had the meal here!" Hokus protested.
Yet as he peered out the window, he paused to see. Ryoto's father returned and it was him alone!
There was this smirk on his face as he peered up. In fact, Hokus knew he was looking right at him! "What the hell…" he whispered.
Then he felt something strange, a burning in his arm and then a mark. In fact, everyone else was getting such a sensation and found a mark on their right arm. "What the hell is this? Is this an attack?" He demanded.
WOOSH!
The room suddenly change. Hokus was on his ass but found that the family… every Tooru at the school has been teleported! They arrived in a new land that none had seen before.
"Where the hell are we?" Yami whispered.
"I've never been here before but… does everyone else feel that!?"
Hokus knew what they were talking about, the curse energy in this land. It felt like the family's power and yet… there was something mixed into it to maintain stability.
He slowly got to his feet as he peered about with concern. They were in the middle of a village by the looks of it and yet…
"Wow… should have known..." Hokus was relieved to hear his brother Roark's voice. He came to greet everyone and yet, everyone was erupting with questions.
"Roark, where the hell are we?!" Yami demanded.
"Seriously what the hell is happening?!" demanded Jigoku.
Roark… appeared rather flustered. "To be honest, it will be much easier if everyone just followed me and… don't freak out." He said gently. "Also… Yua is aware now."
They fell silent.
Yua… Yua knows they are alive?
Hokus wondered though, what troubled his brother so much? He said nothing more as he waved them to a rather large building, it was called the communal dining hall and yet… why does such a thing exist in a village as small as this one?
Well, the family entered but it was oddly dark.
"What the hell…" Hokus muttered.
"Why is it so damn dark, was this YOUR doing?! For goodness sake!" came a young woman's voice.
The lights suddenly came on and a young woman stood there with her hands on her hips. "You are going to freak them out either way, why add the ambiance!?" she demanded.
"Yua!" Roark called.
The family froze as this young woman turned to Roark. Yua… his niece. And yet, there was something terribly off about this. Yua has no curse energy, if he remembered correctly; he heard father state that Yua's power was one of the greatest within the clan. Her potential was immeasurable. If that's the case, why doesn't he sense anything? At the same time, who was she yelling at?
Yua turned to the family and smiled, tears trickled down her face as she approached and explained to them that she knew they have returned and they were brought here to celebrate.
"Who brought us here?" asked Yami. "That would take up a terrible amount of power to summon every Tooru here, wouldn't it?"
Roark began to look a little pale.
Then, everyone felt the pressure in the room change. It was sinister and threatening. In fact, the family took formation as the presence revealed themselves behind Yua!
Ryomen Sukuna!
"What the fuck!" Hokus roared. "This was a trap!"
Yua however, turned and glared at Sukuna. "Do you mind? I just reunited with my family and I don't need them to shit themselves because you wanted your entrance!"
Sukuna's energy was reduced until no one felt like they were under such pressure anymore. "I got my fun, it's amusing to see such a look in great numbers…"
"ROARK WHAT THE HELL!" Yami demanded.
He sighed to this. "HE'S the one who brought everyone here, he's also the one who has been taking care of Yua… at the same time, he is also the one who told her that we have returned." He explained.
"But why him?" demanded Jigoku. "Why is Sukuna… helping anyone at this point?"
Roark peered to Yua. She came forward and explained. "Because, Sukuna is bounded to the Tooru name. If it dies, so does he. It is in his best interest now that we survive and do so in great numbers." She said. "He is also bounded to me, his life is mine to take at any given time, it's also mine to use as well… however, the situation has greatly altered."
"Altered?" Yami asked.
"Sukuna has become family."
Everyone froze, Hokus wouldn't have been surprised if everyone simultaneously blinked at the same time in disbelief. "What?" demanded a cousin. He couldn't see their face but he knew someone spoke out of pure confusion. "You didn't…"
"God no!" Yua protested. "However, an ancestor of ours did. She has been given a body, a clone of mine to live once more. So she is technically my twin. And my twin has taken Sukuna as her husband." She said.
"What Tooru would want him!?" Hokus protested.
"Me… do you have an issue with that?!"
The family froze as another Yua appeared out of nowhere. She glared at him and him alone but appeared confused. Either way, she ignored him and went to Sukuna's side. "Ryomen is my husband and the father of my son and soon to be children." She decreed as she put her hand on her stomach.
The room went pale.
Hokus was about to shout out how this was even possible, when he noticed Roark shaking his head rather fiercely at him.
It was a question one does not need to answer.
So he bit his tongue on the matter and didn't utter another word. Yua however sighed to all of this. "Believe it or not, he is the one who brought you here, since I am now aware that my family has returned, he figured a reunion was in order… besides, you have yet to meet my children."
She turned and nodded, the family froze as young adults came into the room, the girls looked like their mother to some extent except for two twins. The sons were definitely taking on their father's appearance and yet… why do some of the children appear to have different fathers?
Either way, the family soon broke out into celebration as they began to speak with Yua and her family. Drinks were soon poured and snacks brought out. It became a rather odd celebration!
Hokus drank rather well, however he does have an issue.
He can't quite hold his liquor, and he can be a mean drunk when he has had too much…
