Hello! Chapter two! How exciting! This chapter introduces one of the main characters, and OC of mine. I hope you enjoy!

After that, Harry wandered around the train, looking for someplace to sit. At last, at the very back, he found an empty compartment save for one girl sitting by the window.

"Can I sit here?" He asked. The girl turned her head, revealing huge grey glasses.

"Yes, you can. I've just been looking for Nargles and Wrackspurts with my amptipoculators." She said, her voice sounding whispy. She looked out the window again. She had dark blonde hair that went to her mid back and pale skin. Harry stepped in and set down Andra.

"What are amptipoculators?" He asked, curious.

"What is a thought?" She said. Harry took this in and thought for a moment.

"A thought is the mental process where living things form associations and models of the world. Thinking is manipulating information, as when we form concepts, start to problem solve, or when we reason and make decisions. Thought leads to thought, continuing the thinking process. Or do you mean the scientific expla-"

"Amtipoculators are these glasses. They see creatures and things." The girl interrupted. She took them off, revealing her midnight blue eyes. She smiled softly.

"You've got quite a lot of wrackspurts flying around your head. You must be smart." She said it like it was a fact, making Harry blush.

"What's your name?" He asked.

"What's yours?" She responded. Harry was almost reluctant to tell her, knowing that their pleasant conversation would change.

"Harry Potter." The girl didn't blink an eye.

"Starlie Lovegood. My dad edits the Quibbler. Have you read it? Me and my younger sister Luna help too. I even write the astronomy section." She said proudly.

"I've heard of the Quibbler. Don't they have those spells in the margins?" Harry said.

"Yes. They are very useful. Did you know my mother invented the Expelliarmus spell? She was quite famous." Starlie smiled softly.

"Was?" Harry asked, thoughts stopping suddenly.

"Yes. She was experimenting on a spell when it backfired. Me and Luna watched her collapse. I was 10, it was last year. Her name was Pandora Lovegood. She was lovely. I miss her terribly and wish...But I still have my dad, and he's the kindest. And then there's Luna. She can't help but put a smile on everyone's face. We are still a happy family. No matter what happens." Harry's brow furrowed, features turning a dull blue in the process.

"I'm so sorry. I lost my own parents too, but I didn't know them very much. Maybe... maybe we could be each other's...friend?" He asked, very nervous because he'd never really had a real friend. Starlie's soft smile returned, and her eyes twinkled a little bit.

"Why not, I've never had a friend before!" She said, hugging him. Harry smiled, glad that it wasn't only him. They spent the rest of their time talking, Harry showing Andra to Starlie and Starlie showing Harry her cat, Crescent.

They talked and talked, bringing up multiple subjects, one of which being which house they could be in.

"I think I'll be in Ravenclaw." Starlie said, petting Crescent.

"I dunno, I think I could be in all-"

"Oh, come off it. You'll totally be in Ravenclaw. With the amount of wrackspurts in your head, you'd think you could figure that out." Said Starlie. Harry snickered.

"As if. Let me try those on, I want to see the wrackspurts!" He said. Starlie shook her head.

"If only boys could think like a human, not an octopus." She sighed mischievously. Harry scoffed.

"Octopi are very smart. Their arms can think on their own! They also have three hearts and have been around for about 296 million years!"

"See, you're sticking up for your kind!" She giggled. Harry smacked her arm.

"Hey!" She said, returning the gesture. The mock fight went on until the train stopped, which is when they got up. Once they stepped outside, they were instantly swept away from each other in the bustling students.

Right before she disappeared into the crowd, Starlie yelled, "See ya, friend!"

Starlie is the best, haha. I hope you like her as much as I do! Sorry for the shorter chapters, they will get longer eventually. Anyways, thank you!
