OK! No more dilly-dallying! Now we get into the Death Traps this chapter features two Death Traps because the first one isn't all that complex not sure if it will remain that way for the next Death Traps in the Palladium RPG Book it is recommended that these traps be run in real time showing they do not take very long

Finally Stripes, feeling a sense of her Tiger-Pride nagging at her, that as the biggest and strongest Mutant here she should lead by example and show she was not a coward.

"Fine!" She chuffed "I'll got in the first door!"
The door shut behind her...She heard the 'snick' of the bolts closing and knew she was well and truly trapped, on the opposite wall was a door, it bared the inscription of a single word 'Patience'

Looking around the room Stripes noticed there were no doorknobs on either door. The walls and ceilings were all featureless concrete, the floor was made up by identical tiles all were gray except for one bright green square in the center of the room, there was nothing else in the room."
Already wary from years of experience, Stripes knew there was something about that green tile...She gingerly walked close to it, she circled around it...Nothing was happening...Stripes sighed...She knew there was only one way to get out of here...She gingerly lifted one of her enormous Tiger-Paw feet...And stepped on the tile, pressing it down…

As she did that, she heard a mechanical clip and instantly recognized it as the sound of an explosive mine being armed! There came a steady 'tick, tick, tick' from under the green tile a loud voice spoke from somewhere "You have just set a 35 pound anti-tank mine. You have exactly 3 minutes to die."
Stripes was sweating profusely under her orange and black fur, her first instinct was to take her foot off the green tile but a voice inside said that was somehow a bad idea...She looked at the word on the door was 'Patience' and she remembered the instructions said everything she needed was already inside. Was the solution really as simple as keeping the green tile depressed for the entire 3 minutes? Was it really just a big test of nerves?

So she stayed still as stone for the entire three minutes...Sweat drenching and matting her fur as she did so…

Finally the ticking stopped and the door opened...Stripes felt an incredible sense of relief...She had survived the first test…

Meanwhile Dana came to the next door and deciding she just wanted to get this over with , because she was already pining for Glass Joe she went through the door and like Stripes she heard the sound of the bolts closing trapping her inside, on the opposite wall was a door bearing a single word 'Solitude' and Dana felt a shiver go down her spine as that word was something she profoundly feared, making her worry she had chosen poorly.

Looking around the room Dana also saw there were no doorknobs on either door, the walls, floor and door are all featureless concrete, she did notice the wall to the left of her had a small hole in the far corner, the only object in the room was a small cage…

Approaching the bamboo cage Dana saw a tiny gray mouse who seemed to be running around frantically! Dana felt a wave of tender feelings wash over her...She had almost no hunting instinct, during her wanderings she was more likely to scavenge food from the trash or beg for hand-outs, weather that was because she was raised with sisters of many species including herbivores or went even further back to her past life as a Humanimal she couldn't be sure…

That was when she heard a strange rumbling sound...Dana's floppy ears perked up! The right wall was moving slowly pressing forward...It would only be a matter of minutes before she was crushed!

The Mutant Doberman felt herself beginning to panic! Being created to be a companion...She wasn't created to figure out puzzles...Out of desperation she turned to the mouse and asked "Brother Mouse, what should I do?"

To her surprise she heard the Mouse's response in her mind saying in a squeaky voice

'I want to get out of this cage! That hole in the wall looks safe. I'm worried about my mate, she's pregnant you know…'

And hearing the mouse talk about his mate...And suddenly remembering the word on the door 'Solitude' Dana understood the meaning of the puzzle! She opened the unlocked sliding door on the cage it quickly darted to the hole in the left wall after a few moment she heard a loud 'click' and the wall returned to where it started and the door with the word 'Solitude' opened Dana felt an incredible sense of relief having survived the first test

Now being able to hear the mouse's thought should only be available to a Mutant Mouse with the psionic ability 'Animal Speak' but as Dana has a Humanimal Soul and Humanimals have sort of 'mystic abilities' over all normal animals not just those of their own species I let Dana be able to hear even though she's a Mutant Dog so she could hear about the mouse's mate which is relevant to her as her whole shtick is about being a wife
