"Well well well," I said. "It seems my next opponent is Calem."

"Zzt. Really? Be careful; remember he wieldzz Mega Evolution azz well."

I looked at the information. "Hey. It's also a Double Battle. That'll be interesting."

"Bonjour," Calem said. "So, you and me? I'm happy to do it! I hope. I had a bit of a talking to from Red about my use of Mega Evolution."

"He's mostly fine with it now," I said. "Don't let him get to you, okay? Let's battle the way we know how!"

A few floors up, me and Calem stood at a distance.

"I am about to show you the power of the Kalos region, the birthplace of Mega Evolution!"

"Well, I will do the same for Alola, but with Z-Moves!"

We looked up to see Red walk away, frustrated. No, we weren't going to let him get to us!

Elliott Vs. Calem

"Malamar! Blastoise! You're up!"

"I choose Incineroar and Mismagius!" I shouted.

Calem smiled. "Excited for this. We don't have Incineroar or Mismagius anywhere in Kalos."

"Mismagius, use Shadow Ball!" Mismagius fired a black ball at Malamar.

"Now Malamar, Night Slash!" Malamar's tentacles went dark, and it sliced at Mismagius for Super Effective damage.

"Now use Flare Blitz!" Incineroar set itself ablaze and charged into Malamar. It knocked it out.

"Someone has forgot about my other Pokémon, clearly. Blastoise, Hydro Pump!" Blastoise shot a blast of water at Incineroar. It was put out.

"Thanks," I told it. "So, who's next?"

"Go Chesnaught!" shouted Calem.

"And I choose Naganadel!" I replied. "Use Air Cutter!" Naganadel fired streaks of air at both Pokémon. It was mega effective on Chesnaught. "And now Mismagius, Confuse Ray!" Mismagius fired a weird light at Blastoise. It was confused.

"Use Flash Cannon!" However, Blastoise hurt itself. "Fine, if you wanna play dirty! Chesnaught, use Wood Hammer!" Chesnaught brought its arm down onto Mismagius. It was defeated.

"Uh oh," I thought. I was two Pokémon down! "Okay, let's see how you do against Slowbro!" Oh yeah, it was that time. "Let's show him how far we've come!" I put my arm up with the Mega Ring. "Slowbro, time to Mega Evolve!" With that, Mega Slowbro had joined the fray. "And Mismagius, Shock Wave!" Mismagius fired electricity at Blastoise. It was knocked out.

"Chesnaught, use Wood Hammer again!" Chesnaught attacked Mega Slowbro, but it had high Defense so it took the hit.

"Stay sharp!" I told my two Pokémon.

"You'll need to. Go Lucario!" Out came a Fighting and Steel Type. "Let's do it!" Calem held up his Mega Ring. Energy came off of it. "When our hearts become one. Beyond evolution… MEGA EVOLVE!" With that, I finally saw Mega Lucario. Red streaks coming off of it.

"Heartless?!" I said, as I looked into Mega Lucario's bloodshot eyes. It was growling; this didn't seem like the same Lucario from 30 seconds ago.

"Okay Lucario, Dragon Pulse!" Lucario fired the energy of a Dragon Type at Mismagius who barely survived.

"Now our turn!" I put my arms out in front. "Let's give Chesnaught a good dose of Alola's power. SHATTERED PSYCHE!" Mismagius lifted up Chesnaught telepathically and bashed it about everywhere. That was enough to defeat it. "And now Slowbro, use Psychic!" Mega Slowbro blasted Mega Lucario.

"Now Lucario, Dragon Pulse again!" Mega Lucario fired some more energy at Mismagius, this time knocking it out.

"And now Slowbro!" I shouted. "One last Psychic!" Mega Slowbro gave Mega Lucario one last blast. It was finished.

"You overcame my Mega potential…"

"You're through to the finalzz! Roto!"

"Yeah, I am!" I said. "And it looks like that will be tomorrow. Who am I up against anyway?"

I looked at the graph.

It was Ethan. He had beaten Rosa.

"Sounds great!" I said.

"Hey," said Rosa. "So… I guess I'm out now."

"Don't worry," I said. "Hey Calem!" I waved at him. "I have a task for you! And that goes for Rosa two!"

Location: Altar of the Moone

We all flew over to where Wicke had everything set up.

"So…" said Rosa. "What is this?"

"You are going into Ultra Space!" I said.

Calem seemed interested. "Ultra what now?"

"With my assistance," I said. "You are going to go through an Ultra Wormhole and catch me an Ultra Beast."

Calem looked at Wicke awkwardly. "Care to elaborate? So… we're going into space."

"ULTRA Space," I corrected.

Wicke showed us what we are to be hunting. "Both are Bug and Fighting Types," she said. First, we saw a muscular red Pokémon with a needle for a mouth. "This one is UB-02 Absorption."

Location: Ultra Warp Ride

We made our way through the vacuum of Ultra Space, going through golden rings and looking for the right white portal.

"What do you think?" I asked.

"Who knew finding a Journal would lead to this?!" Rosa shouted as we found where we were going and went through.

Location: Ultra Jungle

We came through to find ourselves on a giant tree. There was a bridge of vines connecting to more of the trees and a giant volcano in the distance. Below us was another jungle.

"Don't look down!" I said. "Now, if we fall, I'm so-"

"Reshiram!" shouted Rosa, sending out the Vast White Pokémon. "Don't worry, I have my friend with me."

"And I have mine!" I shouted, sending out Lunala. Just then, from the distance, we saw it. It was Buzzole. It flew over and landed in front of us. We recalled our Pokémon. Just then, Buzzwole started flexing. It showed off its muscles.

"Nice I guess?" I said.

"Who knew Ultra Beasts could be such a show off?" Rosa asked. "Either way, you're coming with us!"

"Go Azumarill!" Rosa shouted. "Use Play Rough!" Azumarill started thrashing at Buzzwole for lots of damage.

"Great one! Roto!"

Suddenly, Buzzwole punched Azumarill for a lot of damage; it was finished in one. "It used Counter!" I shouted.

"Not finished yet!" Rosa said. "Go Reshiram!" Her Legendary came out. "Beast Ball, go!" She threw her Beast Ball and Buzzwole went inside… and stayed!

"Oh yeah!" Rosa said. She started flexing her own muscles.

"Okay, okay," I said. "Let's get back to Wicke."

Location: Alter of the Moone

"We're back!" Rosa said, giving her Beast Ball to Wicke.

"Thank you so much!" she said. "This one is fascinating. I'll look at it later. For now, let me show you what Calem will be trying to catch." She showed us a white Pokémon with long-white hair. It had a very slim body. "Its codename is UB-02 Beauty."

"You bet!" I said. Wicke gave Lunala the instructions. "Okay, Pheremosa time!"

Location: Ultra Warp Ride

We flew through Ultra Space.

"It's beautiful, isn't it?" I asked Calem.

"Yeah!" he said. "Even Lysandre wouldn't want to blow this place up!"

Location: Ultra Desert

Sand was underneath our feet and there were rocks all around us. There were almost blue diamonds that gleamed under the two blazing suns.

"Haina Desert was bad enough," I said. "Let's just Pheromosa and get out of here." I saw a large rock. "Let me deal with this," I said. I had Machamp shove it forward into a hole. "There we go."

"What is it with you?" Calem asked.

"Elliott once did some exploring in Alola'zz Dezzert. Roto. He collapzzed from the heat. He'zz been back once since, but that event izz not hizz favourite. Zzt zzt."

"Look!" I said. We saw it; Pheremosa. It jumped down to our level.

"We've just come for a visit!" Calem said. "Don't worry, I've got this!"

"I choose Sableye!" Calem shouted. "And now, let's do this!" Calem held up his Z-Ring. "When our hearts become one. Beyond evolutions… MEGA EVOLVE!" Light surrounded Sableye, then we saw its Mega Evolution. It was holding a large red crystal.

It blocks any and all attacks with its giant-sized gemstone. However, the stone's a heavy burden, and it limits Mega Sableye's movements.

Pheromosa jumped forward and attacked Mega Sableye. It shielded with its gem. "What was that?" I asked.

"Lunge! Roto! It alzzo lowerzz the targetzz Attack!"

"Now Sableye, Zen Headbutt!" Mega Sableye's head started glowing, and it ran (well, attempted to with that large jewel) and hit Pheromosa. Pheromosa then started firing green soundwaves. "It's using Bug Buzz! Okay Sableye, use Shadow Claw!" Mega Sableye thrusted its hand into the ground. The shadow went forward and slashed at Pheromosa. "And now, go!" Calem threw a Beast Ball at Pheromosa and… it was caught!

"Great!" I said. "Okay, can we get out of here now?"

"Sure," Calem said.

Location: Altar of the Moone

We reached Earth once again and Calem gave Wicke Pheromosa.

"Thank you," Wicke said. "And that's all for now! We've done enough research on Nihilego and the URS told me everything about Poipole and Naganadel."

"Wait…" I said. "We're not done. We have… one more."

Wicke looked at me. "Elliott, if you're thinking about Guzzlord, that thing is too dangerous."

"No," I said. "I will help finish your research. I'll do it tomorrow."

Wicke shook her head. "I guess I can't stop you. But please… be careful…"
