Chapter 9: Shopping at Diagon Alley

Diagon Alley

The Pirate Prince and his family left the bank and are about to start their shopping at Diagon Alley. The moment they exit those silver doors, Nami pulls out the shopping list which was included from the letter of acceptance and starts skimming through the contents.

"Alright, let's start then" said Nami while looking though the list. "We might as well start with your uniform first"

"Any idea where to go for that, Hagrid"

"Madam Malkin's is where you should go for your uniform" said Hagrid with a smile, happy to offer aid for Harry to do his first-time shopping in the streets. "Everyone goes there to get their robes fitted for their first years and the other years after that. Especially when you tend to grow up when you reach your teen years."

He then points at where the shop is and leads them to it while parting the crowd so that the pirates can follow with ease. The shop is painted purple, with two doors beside a bay window which displays moving mannequins wearing beautiful witch robes that immediately caught Nami and the girls' eye. Above the window is a sign with the words painted in gold reading: Madam Malkin's Robes for all Occasions. The twin doors have their own signs, depending on what to buy, such as the left door has the word School & Formal Wear labelled from above while Dress Robes & Gowns labels the right door.

"There we are, just take the door on the left for the school uniform" said Hagrid "I'd go in, but as you can see I'm a tad too big. I hope you don't mind me slipping buy for a quick pick-me-up at the Cauldron? Them rides aren't so pleasant and I need something to settle my upset stomach."

"Sure, mind if I come along?" said Luffy "I need to see if Zoro is at his best behaviour since he've been away from him long enough."

"Good idea" said Nami "I'll stay here with the kids until you come back"

Luffy nods at his wife and they both kiss each other before the Pirate King leaves with Hagrid for the Leaky Cauldron. Nami watches the two men vanish within the crowd before she takes the kids in Madam Malkin's to buy Harry's uniform for his first year at Hogwarts.

Madam Malkin

As they enter the shop, the bell rings with the door opens. The ringing of the bell causes Madam Malkin to approach and welcome her new customers. Madam Malkin is a squat old woman in a mauve dress, her eyes are behind a pair of half moon glasses and she smiles calmly at Nami and the children.

"Here for Hogwarts?" said Madame Malkin

"Just him" said Nami as she gives Harry a pat on the shoulder.

"First year, dearie?" Madam Malkin asks Harry who gave her a nod. "I have another who's a first year too, but I'm almost done. Follow me."

Harry follows the old squat witch to the fitting room at the back while Nami and his sisters wait at the front. At the fitting room, another boy which a pale complexion, combed back platinum blonde hair and a rather drawl expression, stating that he is bored when getting his robes fitted.

"Just stand on that stool over there, please" said Madam Malkin as she points at a wooden stool next to the other boy. Harry does the same while taking off his hat so which he gave to Malkin to mind while a large robe starts to drape over Harry by magic. "Now, just stay practically still while I start with the measuring.

The measuring took a while for Harry but he remains still as told, especially when a roll of measuring tape unravels by itself and starts to coil around his chest, his waist and finally his collar. Then it starts to measure his height and then the length of his arms and legs. After getting the measurements, Madame Malkin starts to leave for her workshop at the very back, leaving Harry alone with the drawl looking boy.

"Going to Hogwarts?" said the boy

"Aye" said Harry simply as the boy broke the awkward silence in the back room of the shop.

"My father's at Flourish and Blotts buying my books and mother's up the streets looking at wands" said the boy. He doesn't even look at Harry when he speaks, stating that he isn't speaking at Harry just so they can have a friendly conversation, only to kill time until his robes are done. "Then I'm going to drag them off to look at racing brooms. I don't see why first-years can't have their own. I think I'll bully father into getting me one and I'll smuggle it in somehow."

After listening to this boy, Harry is already disliking him, reminding him of those pompous noble children he used to steal their sweets and toys years back. And he is tempting to nick something of his just to teach him a lesson.

"Have you got your own broom" the boy asked Harry without even looking at him.

"No" said Harry, he isn't looking at the boy either, clearly he doesn't want him as a friend.

"Play Quidditch at all"

"No" said Harry "Only heard about it recently to be honest, and hope I get to watch the sport and maybe play later on."

"I do" said the boy as he never heard Harry's second answer since he didn't care. And continues to talk about himself. "Father says it's a crime if I'm not picked to play for my house, and I must say, I agree. Know what house you'll be in yet?"

"No" said Harry, annoyed at the rudeness of this boy even more and wished that Madame Malkin could finish making his robes.

"Well, no one knows until they get there, do they, but I'll be in Slytherin, all our family has been" the drawling boy carries on with his self-importance as he speaks. "Ha, imagine being in Hufflepuff, I think I'd leave, wouldn't you?"

If it means that I don't get to see you again, I hope so thought Harry in annoyance while responded with a "Mmm"

Suddenly, Madam Malkin came back from her workshop with her assistance, each holding a parcel wrapped in brown paper and tied with string. "Here you go, dearies."

Harry took his parcel while the boy collects his, the oversized robes are now off them and they can leave the back room. Unfortunately, the boy follows Harry and starts spitting out his arrogance which Harry is forced to listen.

"If you manage to get a house, don't take Griffindor" said the boy "They have no sense of decency, especially when it comes to a... certain family which I wouldn't bother saying their names as they are already a disgrace to the magical community."

Harry hated to do this, but decided to ask the boy a question.

"What do you mean, a disgrace?" said Harry

"Well, their father has an unhealthy obsession with muggles, and despite being a pureblood family, they would fraternise with muggleborns and half-bloods."

"I see" said Harry with a frown yep, I don't like him.

"Out of curiosity, are your parents...one of us?" said the boy

"I wouldn't know" said Harry "I was adopted"

"Oh...I am sorry to hear that, but they are indeed one of us, right?"

"Does it matter?" said Harry, earning a rather amusing laugh from the boy.

"It definitely does matter, and it's quite a disgrace that Dumbledore would allow Halfbloods and Mud...Muggleborns to study at Hogwarts. Should keep it in the old wizarding families."

Harry scoffs at this, getting the boy's attention.

"I'm sorry, but did I say something wrong?" said the boy, now becoming annoyed by Harry.

"Nothing" said Harry as he walked away from the family so that he can regroup with Nami and his sisters. "It's just that...nevermind."

"What?" said the boy as he turns sharply at Harry while he leaves the fitting.

"If you're that ignorant about it, then I won't bother explaining it." Said Harry witha smug grin before passing through the curtained doorway. "Bye"

After leaving the fitting and left a rather insulted expression on the blonde boy's face, Harry returns to the main room of the shop, where Nami and his sisters wait for him.

"Got everything?" said Nami while going though the coin pouch so she can pay for the newly tailored uniform.

Harry turns to Madam Malkin to ask her, but she immediately nods at him as she calls out not only the robes, but the winter cloak and cap. He nods at Nami and she starts paying for the uniforms.

"Thank you, dearie, and I'll see you again next year" said Madam Malkin to Harry.

Diagon Alley

"2 Galleons and 4 sickles" Nami muttered the amount she gave to Madame Malkin, despite the fact that it is Harry's money that paid for the uniform but still she isn't happy at all. "They better be top quality or I'll sue."

"Mum, it's only school uniform" said Belle to her ranting mother as they left Madam Malkin's. "It's not like we can't afford it, but still."

"I know, dear" said Nami pitching the bridge of her nose to calm herself down. "I'm just getting use to things in here as it's our first time. Anyway, we'll wait for your father and Hagrid before we can continue"

Belle nods at her mother and she and Nami sits down on a bench near the shop, Hinagiku does the same as well as Harry who is unusually quiet, something that caught Nami and the girls' notice.

"Something troubling you, Harry?" said Nami

"Nah, I'm fine" said Harry

"Harry, for 10 years being your mother, I know when something is wrong with you" said Nami "So tell me"

"Well..." said Harry, but before he could speak his mind, Luffy and Hagrid suddenly approached them throughout the crowd.

"Alright, Harry got his uniform?"

"Aye, how's Zoro?" said Nami "Behaving, is he?"

Luffy winced when Nami is hesitant to tell her, but he must.

"Well..."

(Flashback: 20 minutes earlier)

Luffy and Hagrid went back to the Leaky Cauldron, but as they enter through the back door, the pub is in the middle of a brawl. Tables flipped, chairs smashes, and piles of conscious bodies litter the floor while female patrons cower in the corner. Then they saw Zoro, with about 5-6 men piling on him, trying to pin him down but failed as the swordsman is carries them on his back with ease and shakes them off as if they are nothing but annoying monkeys.

Luffy sighs with a facepalm as he approaches Zoro while Hagrid stands there, aghast at the sight of the pub interior. Luffy grabs Zoro by the hem of his green coat and gives him a hell of a left hook, sending him flying to the ceiling, crashing head first and them plummeting down to the floor among the other bodies. Everyone now turns to Luffy now, unsure if they want to go at him or now. The Pirate King takes off his straw hat and bows into an apology.

"I am so sorry, whatever Zoro did in here, I will take full responsibility as his Captain." Said Luffy

Suddenly Tom the barkeep pops from behind the counter where he hid during the brawl and turns his sights on Luffy.

"I want him out!" said Tom

"No problem!" said Luffy as he then grabs the knocked-out Zoro by the back of the collar to drag him about. But before could reach the back door, he pulls out a small pouch from his coat and tosses it to Tom. "Here, this may cover for the damages."

Tom caught the pouch and opens it to reveal jewels, gold and silver in the form of coins and small ingots. Shocked by this and looks back at Luffy who has left. He was about call for Luffy but it was too late, the Pirate King has left. Hagrid managed to free himself from the shock and carefully approaches the barkeep due to the debris and unconscious bodies scattered everywhere on the floor.

"You wouldn't mind giving us giving us 2 pints to go?" said Hagrid

Tom nods at Hagrid and gives him 2 bottles of butterbeer.

"On the house, on account of the compensation," said Tom

"Cheers, Tom" said Hagrid taking the bottles and make his way to the back door.

"One more thing, tell that Zoro guy he's barred" said Tom

"Got it" said Hagrid

(End of Flashback)

"After that, we drank our butterbeer, very nice by the way, and came back here" said Luffy

"And Zoro?" said Nami with a rather annoyed expression as if a migraine is forming.

"He's waiting out back, staying put" said Luffy

"Good, I can't him wandering around, getting lost" said Nami Why the hell would go and start a brawl for?"

"According to him, he didn't." Said Luffy "a couple of mean-looking men starts to gang up on him, at first he ignored them until they wipe out their wands and splashed whiskey all over him. But that didn't do anything to make him retaliate."

"So, what caused the brawl"

"After various insults and something about "filthy muggles" don't belong there, things decided to get rather violent when the men pull out knives, and that's when Zoro made his move...just to defend himself."

"I see" said Nami now getting the idea.

"And after he disarmed and dealt with those bastards" said Luffy "More starts to get involved and tries to take Zoro down but to no avail."

"Is that all?" said Nami

"That's all" said Luffy

"Good" said Nami as she then takes her leave so she can continue with the shopping "We are burning daylight here and I have no time dealing with Zoro at the moment."

Luffy nods at his wife and joins her, along with Harry, Belle and Hinagiku.

"Flourish and Blotts is where you'll go for that" said Hagrid as he then heads off, causing the crowd to part way from his massive form. "Follow me, please"

The pirate family follows Hagrid as he opens up a pathway for them to the shop, which they are grateful due to how thick the crowd is at the street, it'd be nearly impossible and time consuming to go through. Fortunately, the journey is short as they only have walk pass a couple of shops until they reach Flourish and Blotts.

Flourish and Blotts

The shop is completely overstocked with books, so much that the owners of the shop have to pile them in heaps and columns since there is no more room to put on shelves. But despite the messy clutter, the shop is doing quite well as the patrons would go in, rather the books they want with ease, purchase them and then leave, no nonsense. And what's more surprising, the shelves are always full after the books containing them were taken to be bought, including the heaps and columns.

The queue inside, long may be, but growing short very fast while more starts to come by to restore it's length. The purchase is surprisingly fast, as each would last roughly about a minute or less until the next customer is being served. While Nami and Luffy wait in line, Harry and sisters wanders around to browse and curiously look at the books on the lower shelves (as they're not tall enough to reach the high shelves). They pull out various books and to read them out of curiousity, from history books such as about the Goblin Rebellion in the 19th century, the wizarding war of 1970-1981, which Harry discovered that he was mentioned in the book, as a martyr who ended the war by defeating Voldemort.

He then pulls out Hogwarts, A History which tells more about the school throughout it's centuries way back to the time of it's founding. Learning about how 2 wizards and 2 witches created the school as a haven for young witches and wizards, safe from muggles who despise magic due to their god-fearing nature at the time.

This then draws his attention on a next book called Witch Hunts: Dark History between Muggle and Witch as it tells about the hatred between the muggles and magic users going on for centuries as many witch and wizards were killed off by the various witch hunts and inquisitions. Not to mention the attack on muggles by vengeful dark witches which only stirs up their hatred for each other even more. Harry scoffs while reading the book as he is no stranger on discrimination, as he witnessed it many times, from Fishman Island with Hody Jones and his army of Fishman Supremacists, and the xenophobia of Wano Isolationists. He would may add, for example the doctor hunts at Drum Kingdom back when Wapol as king, and when the World Government purged Ohara when the archaeologists living there know much about what occurred in the "Void Century", which is forbidden by law to study. Robin, being the last survivor of Ohara is still researching this taboo historical event after finding the fabled phone glyphs that scattered all across the Grand Line and at Raftel.

"Was it bad, I mean when Vol... he and his followers wandered around to spread their hatred?" Harry said to Hagrid.

"Very much, he convinced so many to come to his side, promising them all supremacy and power." Said Hagrid "Mind you, it was bad enough when he didn't stir up that bee hive, I tell you that. There was another dark wizard, Grindelwald was his name, he gathered so many followers that he practically formed an army. There was about to be a war if Dumbledore didn't stop him."

"Dumbledore prevented a war?" said Harry

"Only a wizarding war, the first wizarding war ended when...well you get the idea" said Hagrid "Ironically, Dumbledore defeated Grindelwald the same time when a muggle war ended when some crazy Muggle dictator with a silly 'tache went and top himself."

Harry understood since he did read Wizarding War: 1970-1981. He then goes around to read more books, same goes for Hinagiku and Belle.

The girls went on to look through many various spell books, such as a manual that contains spells to remove warts, moles, skin-tags and other skin ailments, very popular for witches who wanted to look beautiful or suffer from these mentioned conditions. Next, they go through simple grimoire containing basic curses to us against your enemies. Curses like the limb lock, belching slugs, changing of hair colour, and antler growth (they aren't sure if chopper would find this funny or not since he is a reindeer).

Of course, Hagrid is keeping an eye on the children, making sure not to read the "wrong" type of books (which may be a tad exaggeration as Flourish and Blotts are not allowed to sell tomes containing very dark magic). A book on curses aside, the books Harry and his sisters are going through seem harmless, and Hagrid means that in a literal sense as the books don't seem to be alive to bite them, like a certain monster book of monsters which is used by 3rd years on Handling of Magical Creatures course.

In the queue, Luffy and Nami didn't wait too long for they are now behind one customer before their turn to be served.

"Thank you for your patronage." The shopkeeper said after tying up a bundle of books together with string and giving it to the customer. "Next!"

Nami sighs with some relief and pulls out her list for the shopkeeper to see.

"One Hogwarts bundle: first year" said the shopkeeper as he pulls out a wand and waves it. Books start to fly out from the shelved and pile up on the counter. He then pulls out a lengthy piece of string and starts tying it around the books. "That will be...25 sickles and 4 knuts, please"

Nami was about to speak when Luffy immediately covered it as he knew immediately that she is trying to haggle her way to get either a discount or a low price for the book. The shopkeeper however starts to notice this and looks at Luffy.

"is something the matter?"

"Oh no, it's just that my wife was about to haggle, an old habit of hers" said Luffy while whispering in Nami's ear. "Please Nami, control yourself. Harry is paying for this."

Nami muffles angrily at Luffy and starts biting his hand to let her go, and as Luffy released her when to hold his now sore hand from her bite, Nami swipes his legs with a kick and held him down when her foot.

"I thought I warned you about doing that to me, Luffy" said Nami before she looks hard at the shopkeeper, causing him to flinch and gulp. "I may be new to this magical community, but I can smell an exploit around here, especially when your establishment has an over abundance of books here."

"Ma'am, please, I just work here." Said the shopkeeper "The prices on these books are reasonably priced."

"Don't feed me that bullshit" said Nami slamming the counter, causing the shopkeeper to flinch even more. "25 sickles for 8 books?"

"Nami, please don't" said Luffy before he felt her pressing hard on his chest with her foot. "They're only books"

"Exactly my point! Basic school books and they're charging for a ridiculous price for" said Nami before returning to the shopkeeper, making the poor man to flinch even more. "Look, since I can be reasoned with, how about we negotiate on a more...fair price for a bundle of school books, eh?"

Terrified out of his wits, the shopkeeper starts to nod rapidly at Nami as he feels like this is not the kind of woman to cross.

"I can reduce the price by..." said the shopkeeper, but when Nami's hard stare remains fixed like an owl to a mouse, he suddenly compares himself to that mouse and Nami the Owl. "20 sickles...if that's fair for you, ma'am?"

Nami said nothing but stare at the shopkeeper, making the poor guy more frightened than ever. Then she smiles and said. "Aye, seems fair, thank you"

Nami then pays the shopkeeper the 20 sickles and took the bundle of books. She released her hold on Luffy who got up immediately, he pats his scarred chest and dust his straw-hat while following his wife.

Harry remains for a moment so that he can speak to the traumatized shopkeeper.

"Sorry about that, my mom tends to do that when products are...unfairly priced" said Harry before taking his leave to join his family.

The Flourish and Blotts shopkeeper remain still and pale as a ghost, thus holding up the line which everyone starts to complain about, including the prices of the school books for Hogwarts. The queue starts gathering around the counter and all starts ranting in anger at the poor shopkeeper for charging them so much for simple school books. This frightens the shopkeeper even more as he is completely loss for words and has no idea what to do to tame the now chaotic situation.

Merlin help me!

Diagon Alley

After leaving the bookshop which is now filled with more outrageous patrons more than the books in the shop itself. Nami casually walks with a pleasant smile on her face as she is pleased that her "negotiations" was a success. The others however are not as happy with what Nami did at the shop and starts to feel sorry for the shopkeeper as he has to deal with a hoard of angry customers all on his own.

"Was that even necessary, Nami" said Luffy, who is not happy with Nami's recent actions at the book shop. "I get you care about our finance and budget, but this is Harry's shopping here, ergo his money which he is entitled to spend on how much as he wants."

"I am merely protecting Harry from those who would take advantage of him, Luffy" said Nami "Plus, I do not appreciate you manhandling me like that."

"You gave me no other choice, Nami" said Luffy "Especially when you're contradicting your own warning: not to make a scene."

"And how is demanding for a reasonable price "Making a scene"?" said Nami "We are shopping, and haggling is part of it, it's no different when we were shopping throughout the Grand Line."

"Well, most of the time you threatened to use Zeus to strike down the shops who refused you" said Luffy in a low mutter.

"They had it coming! Those greedy fucks" said Nami with a rather blush while trying to justify her past actions. "And it was such a beautiful dress too"

Luffy sighed at this with a facepalm, he then looks beside him to check on Harry, who is looking around with his sisters. He then turns to Nami and place his hand on her shoulder, getting her attention so that she can look at him.

"Look, can you try and behave for the remainder of the trip?" said Luffy "We just got here and the don't want to antagonise everyone. Not while Harry studies in Hogwarts."

"Fine, I'll do it for Harry" said Nami with a slight frown. "You know, I hate it for you become the voice of reason instead of me."

"Hey, I may be reckless, but when it comes to my crew and family, I had to grow up" said Luffy showing off his trademark smile, causing Nami to smile back and kiss him.

After the kiss, Nami pulls out the list and looks to see what to get next.

"So, what's next?" said Nami

They went on the other shops to gather the other school things on the list, next they purchased the cauldron, a pewter one mind you (although they were tempted to buy a gold cauldron but Hagrid persuaded them not to.) "Too expensive and unreliable" he said to Nami when she was allured by the shine of the golden cauldrons. She thanked Hagrid for that hint and bought the pewter cauldron instead.

Then they went to the potions supply shop to buy a set of glass phials and a set of brass scales, next they went to buy a telescope, a beautiful brass one which is collapsible and powerful enough to seen see though the atmosphere of mars. Then they went to get to other essentials such as rolls of parchments, quills and bottles of ink to write with when he's at class and possible do homework on the weekends.

Homework, Harry hated the sound of that word, even Luffy and he's a grown man. Ever since he attends ship-school lessons from Robin, homework was included and it was nightmare, even for Luffy when Robin helps him learn how to read and write since Garp didn't bother to give him that education...and he wanted his grandson to be a marine? Regardless and unavoidable, Harry will have to endure the bane known as homework during his time at Hogwarts, and pray that the lessons aren't difficult to understand.

Now, they are at Florian Fortescue's Ice Cream parlour for a break, all are sitting by one of the outdoor tables, enjoying the cold frosty treats. Harry is enjoying a chocolate and raspberry twin scoop with chopped up walnuts held on a waffle cone, Hagrid is enjoying the same but much larger.

Luffy is enjoying a triple scoop chocolate and banana with a chocolate syrup, and also held on a waffle cone.

Belle and Hinagiku are having fruit salad sundaes with candied fruits on top of strawberry and vanilla ice cream with fresh strawberry halves and peeled tangerine wedges underneath. And Nami is enjoying a delicious tangerine sorbet which is held in a beautiful glass bowl. As they eat their ice cream, Nami goes through the list once more to see waht to get next for Harry's first year at Hogwarts.

"Looks like we need to get Harry...a wand, his uniform and either an owl, a cat or a toad."

"I...mmm, suggest an owl, they're more useful than the others" said Hagrid while eating his ice, rather messily due to his thick beard getting in the way. "We use Owls to deliver the post for us."

"Owls delivering letters?" said Luffy with a rather amusing smile. "Ha, sounds like the News Coos back home"

"News Coos?" said Hagrid

"Seagulls, we have seagulls deliver newspapers to us, on subscription of course" said Nami "mind you, 100 beris a mouth, daylight robbery."

Luffy sweatdrops at this while eating his ice cream, she once complained about this "price increase" prior to his first bounty. But it's not really a surprise considering that Nami like around money.

"Seagull delivering newspapers, eh?" said Hagrid "Never would've thought. Then again, it does make sense since you're mostly out at sea."

"That's right, so far at sea that we miss out what's going on in land" said Nami as she takes a spoonful of sorbet into her mouth, only to held her head in pain later from brain freeze. "Then again, the sea is much more interesting after sailing for 10 years."

"Aye, a pirate's life never gets boring" said Luffy with a proud open smile. "Especially when adventure is just a horizon away."

"Well, you wouldn't have to worry about missing out around here" said Hagrid smiling behind his thick beard. "Like your seagulls, the Owls can also deliver our newspaper, the Daily Prophet."

Hagrid pulls out from his massive coat a rolled-up newspaper and opens it to show Nami and Luffy the Headline along with a couple of moving black and white photographs placed by the article. Both Nami and Luffy are at awe when they saw the pictures moving for 5-10 seconds on repeat. Hagrid chuckles at their reaction as he rolls up his paper before stuffing it back in one of his many pockets.

"Subscription is cheap, only 5 knuts daily or a sickle monthly depending on which you prefer" said Hagrid "Same for other forms of media, that if you get an Owl."

"What do you think, Harry" Luffy asked Harry as this is his choice. "You own owl to deliver and receive post?"

Harry already made his decision on what to get as his familiar, owls are indeed useful compare to a Cat and a Toad. He nods at this as he is still eating his ice cream.

"Then it's settled, we'll go by an owl next" said Luffy until Hagrid held his hand and shook his head.

"Allow me, as I did miss so many of 'Arry's birthdays, it's the least I can do" said Hagrid as he then stands up from his seat which creaked in relief as his massive size and weight is now off.

"Hagrid, you have to" said Harry, only to earn himself a bonk on the head by Nami, "Ow, mum!"

"Don't be rude, Harry" said Nami while taking another spoonful of tangerine sorbet in her mouth. "If Hagrid wanted to by you something, then let him."

"You're only saying it because you don't have to buy the owl just to save up" Harry muttered under his breath while rubbing where his mom hit him. Unfortunately, Nami heard him and gave him another bonk on the head. "Ow!"

"Don't be cheeky" said Nami before turning to Hagrid "Thank you, Hagrid. Harry will appreciate it, will you." She turns to Harry again after she said that last part.

Harry grimaced and immediately nodded at the half-giant.

"Aye, I will" said Harry

"Good boy" said Nami

Ollivander's

After their treat, they left Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour and heads off for the next shop. To get the wand, Hagrid pointed them to a very old looking shop with dusty windows and a faint paintwork on the frames. The sign however remains in tact as it still reads: Ollivander's: Maker of Wands since 382 B.C.

Hagrid once again part the crowd for the pirate family to walk through so they can reach the shop, as they reach the shop, Hagrid splits so he can head for Eyelop's Owl Emporium to buy Harry's Owl while Harry goes in to Ollivander's.

Inside the shop, it is much like an old duty library than a place of business, like Flourish and Blotts it is overstocked as the shelves are completely filled with small rectangular boxes, some where piled up in heaps leaning on the wall and the air is completely thick and heavy with the staleness from the dust. However, the shop is indeed open when they entered the establishment and they are immediately welcomed by the owner of the shop.

A tall old man with messy white hair came out from between the shelves behind the counter the moment the door's bell gave out its welcoming ring. He beams at the family with his silver eyes while giving out his calm welcoming smile.

"Good afternoon" said the old man with the calmest tone everyone has ever heard before. He then turns his gaze upon Harry and his smile widens more to show that he is very happy to see the boy. "I thought I'd bee seeing you, Harry Potter"

"You know who I am?" said Harry

"Of course, you have your mother's eyes and the canny resemblance of your father" said the old man. "I sold them their wands here as if it was only yeasteday. Lilly's was ten and quarter inches long, willow and has a phoenix feather core. Swishy, very good for charms work. Your father, James favoured the mahogany wand, 11 inches with a dragon heartstrings core. Pliable, has a slight kick to it and excellent for transfigurations."

The old man pulls out a measuring tape from his pocket and approaches so he can start the measurements.

"Although your father favoured that wand, but it is the wand that chooses the wizard, of course" said the old and here, at Ollivander's your will not find a much finer wand in the world...well except maybe Gregorovitch, but let's keep that to ourselves, shall we?"

"You're Ollivander?" said Harry

"that's right, sorry for not introducing myself" said the old man, Mr. Ollivander with his calm smile. "And according to the sign, has been in business for quite sometime."

"Doesn't look you sold that many wands" said Nami

"Ah, but you'd be wrong, my dear" said Ollivander with a calm smile still on his face as he turns to Nami. "Although I have so many wands here, I tend to craft more of them that I do go overboard, and choosing the right wand for the customer is a need just to achieve satisfaction."

Nami said nothing after that waits, Ollivanders asks Harry with his "wand arm", not sure what the wandmaker means, Harry pulls out his right arm due to him being right-handed. Then Ollivanders starts measuring, but not just his arm, he also measures shoulder to finger, then wrist to elbow, shoulder to floor, knee to armpit, waist to head and other unusual forms of measurements. The measurements continue on but the measuring tape is doing this all on it's own because Ollivander is now pulling out so many boxes from the shelves.

"As you know, every Ollivander way has a core of a powerful substance, Mr. Potter" said Ollivander as he places the boxes onto the counter. "For example, unicorn hair, phoenix tail feathers, dragon heartstrings, each of these cores are unique and only used one as there are no more one of the exact same creatures. And, of course, you will never get such good results from with another wizard's wand."

Ollivander snaps his fingers to stop the measuring tape which is now measuring between Harry's nostrils and immediately collapses on the floor. Ollivander opens up the first box and pulls out a wand which he then gives it to Harry.

"Here, this one here is Beech wood and dragon heartstrings, 9 inches." Said Ollivanders "Go on, give it a wave"

Harry gives the wand a wave, only to cause one shelf in the shelf to spill out everything. Everything has mixed reactions from this, shock Nami and the girls, surprise from Harry and Luffy starts to laugh out loud as he was amused with Harry's first try on a wand.

"Apparently not" said Ollivander, still calm as a summer breeze as he takes the wand away from Harry so he can give the boy another wand to try out. "Try this one, Maple and phoenix feather, 7 inches."

Harry tries out the second one and waves, causing an unlit lantern to shatter and still out cold oil the copper base.

"No, No, definitely not" said Ollivander while the want away from Harry and gives him another one to try. "Ebony and Unicorn hair, 8 ½ inches."

Harry tries it out, only to push him back as if he fired a fully loaded blunderbuss, fortunately Luffy caught him with his outstretched hand before he was sent out through the window. Ollivander shook his head and took the wand off Harry hand.

"Let's try another, shall we?"

Later

Wand after wand, Harry is getting various catastrophic results which are shown in the shop and on himself. The shop is a complete mess more than it usually was before, and Harry is completely covered with stains and soot when some of the wands let out a wild spell at point-blank range. He groaned by this, especially when Belle and Hinagiku finds this funny. Ollivander is rather happy despite the many failed attempts on finding the correct wand for Harry.

"Rather tricky customer, but no matter. I love a challenge" said Ollivanders as he went though the shelves one more time. He pulls out another box and looks at it and stops for a moment as a thought occurred. "I wonder, its a unusual combination...but let's see."

Ollivander returns with the next wand for Harry to try.

"Holly and Phoenix feather, 11 inches" said Ollivander as he gives the wand to Harry.

Harry, after testing so many wands, hesitantly takes the wand and tries it out, but unlike the others which gave out a catastrophic result, this wand gave him a warm sensation and he shoots a controlled scarlet light which explodes like a firework. Everyone was at awe by this, the wand is indeed perfect for Harry, even Ollivander has to admit this when he starts to mutter under his breath.

"Curious, very curious"

"Sorry, but what's curious" said Harry when he caught what the wand maker said.

Ollivander looks down to Harry and explains.

"I remember every wand I ever made" said Ollivander "It so happens, that the phoenix who's tail feather reside in your wand gave another feather, just one other. It is curious that you should be destined for this wand...when its brother gave you that scar"

This suddenly caused Harry to feel a rather uncomfortable feeling on his forehead, a feeling that he hasn't felt in a very long time...during the time at Raftel.

"Are you saying that...you sold HIM that wand?"

"I'm afraid so" said Ollivander with a sad expression "The wand choses the wizard, Mr. Potter, it isn't always clear why. But I think it is clear that I'll expect great things from you. After all, He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named did great things. Terrible! Yes, but great."

Suddenly a rattling on the window is heard and everyone turns to see Hagrid outside with a birdcage in his hand, inside the cage is a beautiful snowy white owl with black markings on its wings and a pair of golden eyes. Harry is at awe at the beautiful owl Hagrid bought for him that he didn't notice Ollivander take the wand from him so that he can pack it.

The wand is then bought for 7 galleons, which Nami is happy to pay about, but pays regardless since she knows that the wand, like all is one of a kind.

"That concludes our business here, Mr. Potter" aid Ollivander with a polite bow. "Do enjoy your 7 years at Hogwarts"

Leaky Cauldron: back yard

With shopping done, everyone went back to the backyard of the Leaky Cauldron where Zoro is waiting patiently for them. The swordsman flinched when Nami glared at him, stating that Luffy told her about the brawl. And whatever it's his fault or not, it doesn't matter to the Pirate Queen as Zoro is one to get himself into trouble.

"I take that you got everything then?" said Zoro

"That's right" said Nami as Hagrid gave the swordsman the shopping to carry since he did nothing during the trip. Zoro was about to complain but was suddenly silenced by Nami's frown and mutters in defeat. She turns to Hagrid and smiles at him. "Thank you for the assistance, Hagrid."

"it's no problem, I'm just glad to spend some time with 'Arry to begin with" said Hagrid as he gives Harry a powerful pat on the back, causing him to jolt forwards. "Anyway, I am also assigned to give you this as soon as the shopping is done."

Hagrid pulls out an envelope and gives it to Harry, he opens it and reveals to be a train ticket for the Hogwart's Express at platform 9 ¾ in King's Cross Station.

"This ticket here will take you on the train to Hogwarts," said Hagrid

"But Hagrid, since we'll be mooring at the lake near the castle, wouldn't this be a waste," said Harry

"Sorry, Harry, but it's tradition for all students to take the train as they will be together for their first year, same for the other students on though 2nd to 7th years." Said Hagrid "Anyway, just be there at September 1st, 11.00 am. Later"

"Later, Hagrid" said Harry as he watches the half-giant leave though the back door of the Leaky Cauldron.

"Right, shall we head back to the Sunny?"Luffy

"Yes let's" said Nami with a smile "As fun as this shopping trip was, I like to be back on-board the Sunny."

"Harry, take us back" said Luffy

"Aye, aye" said Harry as he offers his hands which were taken by Nami and Belle, others took held hand also that they are now locked so not to forget everyone. Harry closed his eyes and starts to visualise the Thousand Sunny in his head so he can take everyone back with his Blink-Blink fruit powers. "Ready? And... Blink!"

With a pop, Harry and his family vanished in out of sight, no one was shocked by this as they assume this is but apparition and went about their own business. Among the crowd however, a middle-aged man dressed in a dark blue suit with white pinstripes on his jacket heads for the open wall of the Leaky Cauldron's back yard. He has long wavy brown hair and a facial structure which may describe him to resemble an old lion. As he was about to approach the pirates, he saw them vanish before he could go near them. After learning from Albus Dumbledore, he knows better than anyone that they didn't vanish by apparition, but another method of teleportation casted by Harry.

"Damn it, I was too late." Said the man when failed to reach the Straw Hats before they vanish. At first, he didn't believe Harry would perform something so advanced to it's dangers and complications. But now...well, he doesn't know what to believe. "So, Albus is correct, Mr. Potter can apparate, or rather used something similar to apparition, and at a young age too."

The man in the suit sighs at this and decides to take his leave.

"Looks like we need to reschedule the appointment then," said the man with an annoyed expression on his old leonine face. "Madame Bone is NOT going to be happy with this."

After that, the man vanished through apparition a left Diagon Alley
