Jennifer hated being at school. She was surrounded by disgusting males doing nasty things. Like football and trying to pick up girls. Jennifer looked 15 but she was a little older than that. After the last couple of battles, the Hunters of Artemis were greatly depleted. Artemis had ordered her handmaidens to enter the public school system and recruit there among the female population.

"The younger girls have a much easier time." She complained as she stashed her books away. "Those girls are not so boy-crazy for the most part."

The girls were whispering about one boy. She looked over as a mess of black hair and sea-green eyes walked down the hallway. The girls near Jennifer started to giggle and gossip about if any of them had a chance with him. She sighed. She had only recently joined the Hunters but had shared their mindset before joining. This boy was trouble.

Rumors went around about his criminal past and then he had disappeared for an entire semester, returning to find himself expelled from yet another school. Now he was at Alternative High School and seemed not to care if he made friends or not. He would talk to the people on the swim team, during meets and practices, but otherwise, he was either in the principal's office or the guidance counselor.

She was so lost in thought, that she did not notice the four football players surrounding her.

"Hey, where do you think you're going, pretty girl." The quarterback said as he glanced over her body.

She shuddered as his greedy eyes took in her form. "Away from you." She said and checked to make sure they were not monsters. Sadly, they were human and thusly immune to her arrows.

"I think you should come with us," Another member of the team made to take her arm. "We can help you unwind a little."

There was a bang from behind them as someone hit the lockers.

Jennifer and the boys all turned to see Percy Jackson leaning against the row of lockers, his green eyes stormy as he glared at them. Jennifer groaned. Surely he was going to play the hero and try to use it to do the same thing as the other boys had.

But then, his eyes shifted. They went from stormy sea green to the eyes of a hunting wolf. The boys all stepped back, terrified as Percy growled slightly at them. They turned and fled from the terrible sight before them.

Percy's eyes shifted back to normal and he raised his arm to push back his hair. It was then she saw it. Burned into his forearm, a trident symbol with SPQR on it and a single bar.

"You're a Roman?" She asked him, completely confused as to why a legionary of Rome was so far from Camp Jupiter.

"I could ask why a Hunter of Lady Artemis was doing here," he countered. Artemis, not Diana, she noticed. His respectful prefix of Lady did not go unnoticed either. "But Thalia did warn me a Hunter was stationed here."

She looked away, embarrassed at a memory of Thalia telling her of a demigod ally at the school. She had zoned out when she heard it was a male demigod.

"Thank you for the assistance then." She now realized who this must be. Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon. The Hero of Olympus.

"It's refreshing to not have someone from the Greek/Roman world not trying to kill me on sight." He admitted. "If it's been you keeping the monsters down, I'm very grateful. I need to graduate so I can go to college with Annabeth Chase next summer."

There was a name she knew much better. Athena's daughter had turned down a place in the Hunter's for a boy. This boy apparently.

"You're welcome, Percy Jackson. I hope we can continue to cooperate while we are both here."

He nodded. "There is a girl on the swim team who seems to not be interested in romance, one way or the other. If you give me one of your pamphlets, I can plant it for you."

She smiled at him. "Here is to a beneficial partnership then, Percy Jackson."

A/N: Been thinking of a fic like this for some time. Takes place between the Chalice of the Gods and Wraith of the Triple Goddess. I hope you enjoyed and see you next time!
