Nezuko shivered inside her box.

Tanjiro heard the minute shaking and reached behind him, "Hey, it's ok Nezuko. It's ok."

"What's wrong?" Ed asked, looking back at Tanjiro.

Tanjiro looked back, "Nezuko was shivering. I don't know why."

Armstrong flexed,"Shall I give comfort!?"

Tanjiro looked nervous, "I don't kno-"

a light scratching was heard, as if to say "Yes please, oh god I need muscular comfort."

Mitsuri giggled,"She sounds eager!"

Zentisu raised his hand as if to say "I need to be held too."

Al put his hand on Zenitsu's shoulder and shook his head.

"I was hoping," whimpered Zenitsu.

"Sorry."

Armstrong looked at Ed, suddenly getting serious,"Edward, where are you heading next."

"We're heading to Nagaro." Ed said.

"I see... I have to go somewhere myself, I trust that you will protect these poor souls!?" Armstrong took the demon slayers into his arms.

"I... think I can manage," Ed snarked.

"I UNDERSTAND, YOUNG ELRIC!" Armstrong said.

Mitsuri hugged Ed,"Oh, do be careful!"

It's like being crushed by marshmallows.

Zenitsu muttered,"Are we going to be attacked, again!?"

Ed was about to reassure him but then paused. Smirking, he said, "We will be."

"Great..."

The train they took actually had one robber... who was just playing a prank for his college buddies.

Ed let out a cheer, "HA! The laws of probability kick in again."

Al looked back at the leaving train,"You ever think Dante or Father are sending those guys after us just as an annoyance?"

"Nah, they are just stupid"

"Now where is Majhal's house..." Al asked.

At that point, everyone in the train station let out a gasp.

Everyone seemed to have come over with slight fear at the name Majhal, except for a young raven-haired woman in a pair of overalls coming over to them,"Why on earth are you searching for that guy?" She asked.

"We were told to find him," Ed said, bringing out a paper,

"That's a problem." The girl said,"Because he's dead."

"What?" Ed asked.

"Yeah, he died, like, years ago after kidnapping my mom." The girl sighed,"I mean I could still take you to his house if you want?"

"Yes," Ed said.

"Right. It'd be good to get someone to see that his house isn't haunted."

Ed rolled his eyes, "Of course, it isn't haunted. Ghosts, vampires, zombies, and werewolves aren't real."

Al shuddered,"You sure?"

Tanjiro raised a finger,"Actually, ghosts do exist, I was trained by a couple!" He then noticed that Nezuko's box was shivering violently while Zenitsu and Al were huddling,"Oh, I, er, I'm certain that there aren't that many bad ghosts!"

"They weren't ghosts," Ed objected, "They were probably illusions brought on by the stress of being on top of a mountain.

Zenitsu whispered,"I don't buy that."

"I do. Brother's usually right... usually." Al whispered back.

Ed smiled, "Of course, because anything can be explained with," he found a rock ,"SCIENCE!

The girl looked at him,"Okay..."

"Some people don't appreciate dramatic declarations," Ed said shaking his head as he followed them close behind.

The girl, who introduced herself as Claus, walked them down the road,"Honestly, I don't believe in the whole ghost crap. You may have noticed that everyone in that station had a... reaction to Majhal's name. He was responsible for kidnapping women and attempting to put their souls into dolls."

"What?" Ed asked.

Tanjiro shook his head, "But why?"

"Well, according to my mom, he lost his wife a long time ago, so he tried to spend time trying to bring her back." Claus said.

Ed looked down at this, seeing memories flooding into his mind, "Of course, same old story right?"

Al looked away,"Same old story." With a sigh he asked,"How did he die?"

"A woman came into this town. Name was Juliet Douglas I believe. She heard that my mom went missing and then went to find her in his house. I'm not sure of the specifics, but after that, he, well..." Claus put her hand on her hip.

"Disappeared?" Tanjiro asked.

"Juliet Douglas," Ed said, looking back at the letter, "She's the one who gave us the letter."

"Huh." Claus said as they neared an empty house.

Zenitsu stepped forward, "Don't worry, we demon slayers will step first into the dark, scary, possibly murderous house." he said, shaking his knees.

Claus looked at him,"You sure you're a demon slayer? Your knees are shaking."

"Of course I am," Zenitsu said with a smile, "I'm just trembling with excitement."

"Really?" Claus sighed.

Al gulped,"Right, let's go into the totally not haunted house..."

Ed sighed and looked at Tanjiro, "And this is why we're the older brothers."

Tanjiro nodded. He closed his eyes,"But... I do smell someone in there."

Zenitsu began to close his eyes and listen.

There was a human heartbeat.

"There's someone in there," Zenitsu said, slowly opening the door.

There was a burnt desk with a letter on it. Nearby was someone in a cloak huddled in a corner.

Tanjiro ran to the person in the cloak as Ed picked up the letter.

The letter said,"To Ed and Al"

The figure spun around on Tanjiro, revealing an aged woman with a manic glint in her eyes,"Who goes there!?"

"Hold on," Tanjiro said, "We're friends. I'm Tanjiro and these are my friends Ed, Zenitsu, and Al."

The figure turned to him slowly,"Why..."

"Why what?" asked Tanjiro.

"Why have you come?" An aged female voice asked.

"People missing, and tales of 'ghost stories' " Ed said.

"... Are you here because of my late husband?"

"Yes,"Tanjiro said.

The woman growled,"So, have you come here on her behalf!?" She lunged at Tanjiro.

Ed clapped his hands to create a wooden fist to slam it against her chin as Tanjiro drew his blade, "Her?"

The attack sent the cloak flying, revealing an old woman curled up on the ground. She was mumbling incoherently,"Majhal... why..."

"Mahjal?" Tanjiro asked as he sat down with the old woman.

Al began to realize,"His wife wasn't dead after all..."

Ed looked back to the woman and then to the letter.

"Edward and Alphonse,

Hi again, it seems that you managed to find this letter. It shouldn't have been too hard to get to unless this house got taken over by a demon that I didn't know about.

You probably heard some things. Namely that I killed the man who lived her, Majhal. That is only partly true. Majhal was attempting to bring his wife back by binding souls to dolls. I was sent here by the government to investigate the disappearances of young women and found out about this. So, I figured out where he was and stopped him. However, in our struggle, he fell on his own knife, dying in the process. In a sense, I did kill him.

I asked the woman I saved to leave this letter here just so you could learn how Dante may be getting her immortality.

I can't say much more. My next letter will be in the town of Wisteria. A place rumored to be a paradise.

Juliet Douglas.

Al looked at the woman,"What do we do with her?"

Tanjiro sat down to the old woman, putting his hand onto her shoulder. Sighing, he looked at her, "Are you all right, can you move?"

The woman hissed at him.

Tanjiro took a step back, and then began to look down, "Can we help her?"

Al put a hand on his shoulder,"Let's get someone to help."

Zenitsu nodded, "Yeah, at least we can be sure no one will hurt her."

"I'll keep an eye on her," Tanjiro said, "Until you can get someone.

Kanao sat next to him,"I'll wait with you."

"Y-you don't have to," Tanjiro said.

"No, I want to help." Kanao said with a smile.

Tanjiro smiled at her, "Thank you;"

A blonde man sat alone in a bar. He stared at the table, pondering things that no mortal would be thinking of. A glass was placed near him, causing him to look up,"I didn't order anything."

The waiter shrugged,"That woman over there ordered it for you." he pointed at a certain woman at another table who smiled at him.

The man looked over to where the waiter was pointing and frowned,"Give me a minute." He walked over to her and sat down in front of her,"What are you doing here?"

"How rude. I see where Edward gets it from." Dante smiled,"Is it so wrong of me to want to see my ex?"

"It is when you're planning something terrible with the country." Hohenheim looked into her eyes,"You're a demon now, that's new."

"And?" Dante asked.

"I'm not surprised at your sun immunity. There are only three people in this world who could find a way around that, and one of them is dead." Hohenheim glared at her,"Just like I know you're why the King isn't around."

"News travels fast, Hohenheim." Dante said.

"Several demons had felt his absence, including his high-ranking ones." Hohenheim said,"It wasn't hard to figure out what happened and who caused it."

"I did what you and that oh-so-powerful swordsman couldn't. I got rid of him." She laughed,"I got rid of a problem."

"And now what?" Hohenheim asked.

"You're right."

Hohenheim raised an eyebrow,"Excuse me?"

"Humans are special." Dante linked her fingers together,"They can make so many things. Create so many solutions to so many different problems. Humans can do so much when they're together, you know?"

"Sounds like you learned a few things since we last met." Hohenheim narrowed his eyes,"There's a catch."

"I am human, Hohenheim, as are you... and what is humanity but an ever-evolving species? Imagine if one of us began a new step in human evolution. We could become stronger, faster, smarter! We could be better." Dante looked up into the tavern's ceiling,"No... godhood isn't just what I want... not anymore... it's to be the first step into becoming the first in a new race of gods that can-" She coughed,"Sorry, I said too much."

"So you're still insane."Hohenheim smirked,"And you're telling me this because? I'm still not joining you."

"Oh, I just happened to see you and wanted to gloat." She got up,"I don't want you to join me... I want you to fail. I want to see your face when I take this world, when I tear apart all that you've worked for when I kill your sons in front of you."

Hohenheim's eyes glared as he clenched his fist,"Don't."

Dante smiled,"See you later..." She walked away.

Hohenheim looked down at his chest,"Don't worry, I don't think she knows."

After getting the woman to get the help she needs, the group went into a train to Wisteria.

AT least, that's what would happen if it didn't stop suddenly.

Ed stood up, "What's going on?"

The conductor arrived in the car,"Is there a demon slayer in the house?"

Tanjiro raised his hand and then took up Zenitsu's hand while Kanao did the same.

"We've got a problem, and I can't move the train unless its solved."

"Demon?" asked Tanjiro.

"I think. The train is being stopped by a flock of sheep. I come from a family of farmers, so I know what that's like. However, the sheep don't seem to move no matter what I do, and the herders in front of them seem to be in a trance."

Ed peeked his head out the window.

There was a flock of sheep in front of the train.

Ed shrugged and got off through the window. Walking towards the sheep he clapped his hands, "Ok, let's move ew out." he chuckled at his bad joke.

The sheep began bleating like crazy.

"Geeze, tough crowd," Ed said making a little path to move the little sheep.

The conductor winced a bit,"Well that... takes care of that..." He held his head.

"Yeah, that's what," Ed paused, walking a little slower. "it happens when you...have..."

Tanjiro wavered from inside the train car, "Does anyone feel weird?"

Al looked down at the ground, noticing vines attempting to grasp his armor,"Guys!"

"Al?" Ed asked.

"Al? He's gone to get some groceries," a female voice said.

Blinking, Ed looked around as he began to take in his surroundings, "Huh? Oh right..." he turned to look at the voice as she came in, "Mom. I'm sorry I just kind of lost my mind for a moment."

Trisha giggled at little as she looked at Ed as he sat at his desk in the library, "Losing your mind in a book, surrounded by your personal library. You are like your father."

"You think so?" Ed asked, sighing, "I was kind of hoping to be a little better."

"Trust me, I couldn't pull him away from his books somedays," Trisha said, before walking to Ed and rubbing his head, "Just don't study too hard. After all, Winry is waiting."

"Right mom," Ed said, turning the page with his flesh right hand. Pulling his hand back up, he looked at it's texture, its flesh and skin. "No automail but-" he looked back at the book and sighed, "Great, forgot that whole 'can't read in a dream' thing is a myth." he slowly got back up and began to look around, "So, was it all just a dream?"

Trisha frowned,"Oh Ed..." A rotting hand grabbed onto him,"Why did you force Al to be with you?"

Ed backed away, "W-what?"

Trisha looked at Ed with saddened eyes, her jaw was slowly coming off of her face,"Edward... why did you take Al with you... you're the big brother, you should know better."

Ed shook his head, backing away, his body beginning to tremble, "No, mom...I...Al made his choice. I didn't want to drag him into this. I just wanted to see you again, I...I" a smaller voice came from Ed's throat, "I didn't mean to take everything from him."

Trisha smiled, her face's skin slowly coming away to reveal a long row of teeth,"It's okay... you'll find forgiveness in sleep."

A small bit of flame was on the side.

"Maybe I should..." Ed paused and looked to his left at the flame. Shaking his head, he began to whisper "Not real not real. Come on Ed, you're smarter than this. It's a dream, you know it is. This is just a random flash of cognitive and emotional flashes created during sleep. This is just your brain showing you something like a movie. Now, focus on something, anything." Looking back at the flame, he asked, "What is that flame."

"Flame?" 'Trisha' cocked her head

Ed turned and began to run towards it.

The flame got bigger and bigger.

A different voice spoke,"You may escape, but there's still your friends..."

Ed awoke to Al looking him over, while Nezuko was hugging him,"Brother!"

"Al?" Ed asked woozily while accepting Nezuko's hug, "W-what's going on?"

"Everyone's under some kind of hypnosis or something." He looked down at some withering vines,"I think these vines are the cause of it!"

Ed sat down and transmuted his finger into a little blade to try and cut one of the vines.

The vines hissed as they were cut down.

"So they aren't invincible and won't hurt the others," Ed said looking up. "Al, you and Nezuko help get Tanjiro and Zenistu out. I'm going to see where these lead."

Al looked down at him,"Alright, but be careful brother!" He and Nezuko went off.

Zenitsu found himself in a carriage, dressed in a fancy suit with two slightly unfamiliar figures next to him. A man and a woman. They smiled down at him, muttering something intelligible.

Zenitsu blinked, trying to look at the two figures.

The man patted him on the head,"We'll be there soon, don't be scared."

The woman laughed,"Poor thing. It's tough being so small in a big world."

The carriage rumbled.

"What was that?" squeaked Zenitsu.

"It's just the carriage bumping on the road, dear."

The man frowned,"Should've gotten a car."

"And put our boy through that? He'll be even more scared!"

Even more rumbling could be heard.

"The car is rumbling too much. There has to be something wrong with the car," Zenitsu said, pulling his legs up. "That rumbling means something right?" .

The carriage stopped.

"Hey, what's the big idea?" The man stepped out and then screamed as something attacked him.

Zentisu gasped and for a brief second, looked out.

A tall man in a fedora had his claw through the other man's chest.

This caused Zenitsu to scream and back up in the cart, his back to the door.

The woman went in front of him, only for the man in the suit to kill her as well. The man tossed her away and looked at Zenitsu. He frowned before raising his hand, only to stop and look to the left,"You'll die soon anyway." He walked away as the morning sun came out."

Zenitsu crawled out of the cart, tears coming to his eyes. Then he crawled back, looking up and letting out a scream in total terror.

At that point, time stopped. A man dressed in a white haori with yellow clouds and a hat obscuring his face appeared in front of Zenitsu,"... I need to help you again, don't I?" .

"P-please. Help them, save them, I...don't want to be alone

The man put a hand on Zenitsu's shoulder,"You're not alone..."

In the real world, Zenitsu let out a breath,"Thunder breathing..."

Zenitsu ripped through the vines, lightning crackling around him.

Nezuko looked on in awe as Zenitsu came out.

Zenitsu put his sword back into his sheath, breathing slowly as lightning crackled. Eyes closed he turned around to listen to the movements of the other vines.

Kanao looked around as a forest surrounded her,"Tanjiro?" She then noticed from the corner of her eye a familiar woman in a white haori,"Neesan?"

The woman was slumped over on a tree, blood covering her stomach,"Kanae?" Kanao whispered as she walked to her.

"It looks like... I won't make it..." Kanae coughed up blood,"Shinobu, please take care of them for me..."

"No, I can't. Not...not without you. I'm not strong enough.

"I wish... I wish I could... see Kanao... smile for real just this once." Kanae's eyes slowly fell.

Kanao shook her head, and then smiled. She sighed, "To whoever you are...thank you."

"Thanks?" A voice said.

"You made me remember why I keep smiling," Kanao said, standing up and smiling,"So she can see me smile no matter where she is." she then put her thumb to her guard, "Flower breathing..."

A flame erupted around her.

Outside, Kanao broke through the vines as Nezuko hugged her.

Kanao smiled, and returned the hug, "Are you alright?"

Al ran to her,"We're fine, but Ed's gone looking for Tanjiro."

Ed would follow the vines to a large tree. Inside the tree was a familiar boy in green.

"Tanjiro?" Ed asked as he began to walk closer to the tree.

A vine wrapped around Tanjiro's neck,"Ah ah, he's sleeping." A voice said. Atop the tree was the face of a woman smiling at him.

Ed looked at her, "And you must the one doing this. You know, some cultures like for you to give your name before introducing yourself.

"I am Despair. I heard that you killed Delirium earlier." The woman said.

Ed shrugged, "Yeah, beating bad people is what I do. As well as freeing my friends."

"Should you free him? He's embracing his inner turmoil. Freeing him could do damage to his psyche."

"Yeah and how much of that is suffering"

"Suffering is strength." Despair said.

Ed began to slowly remove his glove to show his automail hand. Then he held it up to his face before clenching it into a fist, "Then, I'm probably one of the strongest people on earth."

"Are you now?" Despair cocked her head,"Would you like to prove it? Would you like to be able to break him out?"

"Sure," Ed said, "All you are doing is just putting images into his head. Should be easy."

"Very well." She stretched out a vine and touched Ed's forehead.

Ed would find himself in a town near a mountain. Several people were milling about.

Ed reached out, "Hey, did you see Tanjiro walk through here?"

"Yeah, he's up near that mountain." A man pointed to a trail

"Thanks," Ed said, being thankful for his cloak to provide warmth

As Ed walked the trail, he would catch a familiar boy walking the trail.

"Tanjiro?" Ed asked as he walked towards the boy.

Tanjiro turned to Ed,"Hello, do I know you?"

"Not really, but I heard your name being called in the town," Ed lied, knowing that he needed to tread carefully. He then paused, "What year is this?"

"1912, why?" Tanjiro asked.

Ed's eyes opened wide as he began to realize and ran off, "Damn it..."

"Wait, where are you going?" Tanjiro ran after him.

If Ed heard Tanjiro he didn't show it. Instead his mind on if he could prevent a small tragedy from happening.

Tanjiro ran ahead,"It's dangerous to go alone!"

"Trust me, I can handle it," Ed said.

"But there could be demons about!"

"That's what I'm worried about," Ed thought.

They soon came to a man approaching a small house.

Ed frowned and yelled, "Hey, bozo!"

The man turned to Ed,"Bozo?"

Ed took the time to look at the man, "Yeah, what are you doing walking around in the cold?"

The man frowned,"I'm looking for something." His red eyes bore into Ed's.

"For what?" asked Ed

"That's not important." He extended some claws,"I don't have time to deal with you."

"Well, if you had plans on killing a small family, then you better get rid of me first," Ed said, clapping his hands.

"You?" Muzan frowned,"You're nothing to me." He ran at Ed.

"Hope you demons," Ed said, slamming his hands o the ground before jumping to the side, watching as Muzan ran along the ice. Clapping his hands again he creates some small ice spies to stab into Muzan's chest, "Can walk on ice."

Muzan looked down at his chest,"Alchemist." He got up and glared at Ed

"Bastard," Ed said.

Tentacles burst from Muzan's back and swiped at Ed.

Ed let out a gasp as he rolled out of the way, trying to keep away from the tentacles.

A hatchet came flying and hit Muzan in the face.

Tanjiro panted,"S-Stop!"

Ed panted and then turned to Tanjiro, "Get away. I got this."

"No, I can't leave you alone!" Tanjiro said

Ed shook his head, "And if you stay, you'll die. Don't you have something important to go to?"

"I do, but Mom would never forgive me if I left someone to die!"

Ed clapped his hands to make the snow into water and then to refreeze it around Muzan, "Yeah, and that's who you should be going back to and keep an eye on!"

"Well, that an he's right next to my house, so even if I went, I'd get attacked!" Tanjiro leaped out of the way of a tentacle.

Ed went in for a slash at Muzan's neck.

Muzan held his throat with a growl, only to get pelted in the back of the head with a frying pan.

"Stay away from my big brother!" Nezuko shouted from the doorway of the house.

"A frying pan? Was that all you had in there?" Ed asked.

Nezuko frowned,"It was the heaviest thing I could find."

Ed sighed, and then looked back at the pan, and then to Muzan. A typical Edward Elric devil grin (c) appeared on his lips, "Actually, thanks you just gave me something that is going to make the demon's life a very VERY bad day." he then ran to pick up the pan and run to Muzan, clapping his hands together. Running back, alchemical energy flowed through his arm and the pan. Quickly, he jammed the pan and his arm into Muzan's mouth.

Muzan let out a muffled grunt,"What the hell!?"

"Oh, I just rearranged a few elements here and there, did a small mix of some elements of my arm, and well," Ed paused as he began to wrench his arm out. he winced as he pulled away a now hand-less arm, "It would take too long to explain the science of it all, but let's say that I put a very powerful bomb in you that's going to make this very painful for you and me." he said as he began to walk away.

Muzan's eyes widened as his head exploded. The sun began to rise as Tanjiro ran to hug Nezuko.

Ed smiled at this and leaned against a tree. HE chuckled, "And if this was real...Winry would have my ass." he winced in pain, feeling the burns and bruising to his ribs.

"You went out of your way to save them... why?" Despair appeared in front of Ed, dressed in a long nightgown.

Ed looked back at Tanjiro. For a brief moment, he saw something else

"Al, I changed my mind. Let's not do this, it's too dangerous."

"Al, why don't you get something else." At that point, he was alone when he made his greatest mistake.

Closing his eyes, he leaned back against a tree and looked at Despair. He took a deep breath and watched as the breath began to form in fron of him, "Be thou for the people. That's the saying of a state alchemist, and I'm the idoit who believes in that nonsense. I just can't let someone who needs help run away from me. And besides..."

Ed and Al sat in the lone alleyway, holding each other in the rain.

"Brothers look out for one another.

Despair frowned,"Such kindness. Never expected this. I only know the sadness and despair of mankind."

"Ah Nihilist, nice to meet you. I'm an atheist scientist," Ed snarked. "But I think your problem is, you've just been looking in the wrong places."

Ed looked down at his human hand as it lay next to his automail leg, "Sadness and Despair? Yeah, I know all about that, and there is plenty to see, but I...I've seen just as much good, if not more kindness from the people out there."

"My husband used to think the same way. Until he was killed."

"By who?" Ed asked.

"By a strange woman with long nails.

"Lust," Ed said.

"Lust?" The woman asked.

Ed nodded," An artificially made human called a Homunculus. Has a tendency for killing or maiming good people."

"Hmph, that much is true. My husband was trying to find the cure for a disease... but that woman killed him before he could finish."

"Yeah, she does that too," Ed said, "So how did you fall into this then?"

"When my husband died I was in great despair. Then the King known as Muzan found me and turned me into a demon. I had lost myself then, not remembering anything of my previous life. Then Queen Dante found me and offered me power. She gave me back my memories as well."

"So," Ed scoffed, "You went from one devil right into the othe-Queen? Oh, getting high and mighty is she?"

"She is almighty. She is what gave me the strength to break free from my shackles and become a new woman."

"And you are using that time doing what," Ed said, "Torturing people?"

"..."

"I'm sorry." Tanjiro's voice said from behind her.

"Tanjiro?" Ed asked.

Tanjiro, now older, walked over to Despair,"You've had so much happen to you that you've become blind." He gave her a hug,"I'm sorry."

Ed, feeling a protective side come to him, reached out slowly to the young slayer. He then paused and smiled warmly as Tanjiro began to console the demon. In his mind he began to think "Wonder what you would've been like had you not lost everything." He then turned to look at the shadows of Tanjiro's family.

"Equivalent Exchange...but what if you didn't want to get something in the process, but you still lost it," Ed thought before looking back."

Despair stared at Ed, and then at the ground before sobbing.

"You know what you have to do," Ed said.

"Brother!" Al shouted as the rest of the group ran to them.

The vines began to unravel around Tanjiro. Despair's mouth opened, pulling out a red stone before crushing it.

Tanjiro never left Despair's side as she slowly disintegrated. Ed looked to Al and smiled at him,"See, told ya dreams can't harm you." Ed said, only to add under his breath, "not physically."

Al nodded,"I get it." He looked at Tanjiro.

Tanjiro sighed, "Why does she do this? Why does she do this?"

Nezuko plodded over to Tanjiro and then gave him a hug.

"All she had to was leave that woman alone, give a chance at a new life. Not turn her into this," Tanjiro whispered, leaning in into the hug as he cried into Nezuko's shoulder Kanao closed her eyes, while Al looked away..

Ed put his hand on Tanjiro's shoulder and then gave him a hug as well. Then he got up and looked back at the train. Silently Tanjiro walked back with the others, but not before putting in a little stick for Despair.

As they got into the train and it began to ride, Ed looked to the young slayer, "You should get some sleep."

"How can I? I'll just be reminded of what Dante did to that woman, and how it just feels like saving Nezuko is just getting father and father-"

Ed nodded and looked up at the ceiling. Smiling he began to hum a little tune to himself before slowly starting to sing.

"Dante, she's worse than Muzan... Ed?"

There's a monster that lives 'neath your bed?

Oh, for crying out loud

It's a futon on the floor, he must be as flat as a board

There's a creature that lurks behind the door

Though I've checked there 15 times

When I leave, then he arrives every night

"Ed...that's not going to-" Tanjiro whispered, feeling his eyes starting to droop.

Al, hearing this song, began to join in. "This was one of Mom's favorites to sing to us."

Tell that monster that lives 'neath your bed

To go somewhere else instead, or you'll kick him in the head

Tell that creature that lurks behind the door

If he knows what's good, he won't come here no more

'Cause you're kicking his butt at the count of four

Ed and Al, finding the right harmony began to sing the next verse together.

Goodnight, demon slayers, goodnight

Now it's time to close your tired eyes

There's devils to slay and dragons to ride

If they see you comin', hell, they better hide

Goodnight, goodnight, goodnight

Goodnight, my little slayers, goodnight

Zenitsu sighed and cuddled up closer to Nezuko as she listened to the song. Slowly, he held her hand and began to whisper to her, "I know I'm not the bravest, but I won't let her hurt you too." he said as the next few lyrics seemed to be about him and Nezuko.

Tell the monster that eats children that you taste bad

And you're sure you'd be the worst that he's ever had

If he eats you, don't you fret, just cut him open with an axe

Don't regret it, he deserved it, he's a cad

Al giggled as he always did at that lyric before he added the next verse.

Tell the harpies that land on your bed post

That at the count of five you'll roast them alive

Tell the devil it's time you gave him his due

He should go back to hell, he should shake in his shoes

'Cause the mightiest, scariest creature is you

Kanao sat with Tanjiro, and ran her hand through his dark hair, softly singing with the two brothers as she too began to fall asleep.

Goodnight, demon slayers, goodnight

Now it's time to close your tired eyes

There's devils to slay and dragons to ride

If they see you coming, hell, they better hide

Goodnight, goodnight, goodnight

Goodnight, my little slayers, goodnight

Ed, before singing his next verse, saw visions of Tucker, Dante, and so many other evil men he fought. Men who could be just as bad as the homunculus and the demons.

I won't tell you, there's nothing 'neath your bed

I won't sell you that it's all in your head

This world of ours is not as it seems

The monsters are real but then not in your dreams

Learn what you can from the beasts you defeat

As the team of demon slayers fell asleep, Ed and Al watched on as protective guardians.

Goodnight, demon slayer, goodnight

Now it's time to close your tired eyes

At this next verse, the two Elric brothers did a fist bump.

When they see us coming, hell, they better hide

With a soft smile, Ed leaned back in his chair to begin to fall asleep.

Goodnight, goodnight, goodnight

Goodnight, my little slayer, goodnight

Goodnight, goodnight, goodnight

Goodnight

Al sighed as he ran his metal hand along his brother's cheek, "I wish I could join you, brother. I also wish I could dream again." he looked back up, "I'll keep an eye out for you big broth-"

A light tapping interrupted Al, and he looked down at Nezuko who pointed to herself. Then through her mouth guard, she smiled at him.

Dante got up from her seat, leaving Hohenheim behind. At this point, a handsome waiter walked by. Dante then slapped the waiter's ass before running away with a giggle.

Hohenheim frowned,"Pervert..."
