Totally Spies: Operation: Spy Friend Make-Up

AN: This story takes place after the events of the season 5 episode Return Of Geraldine. I always hated how dumb Sam and Alex were in that episode. So I decided to write a story about them making it up to Clover.

It was 6:30 AM at the University of Malibu.

In the spies' penthouse, Sam was wide awake and was in the kitchen getting some orange juice. She was tired because she barely slept all night. It was the morning after what she and the others decided to call, 'the Geraldine Incident'. She was sitting down at the table when she noticed a familiar face come into the kitchen. It was Alex. She also looked really tired and had bags under her eyes. As Alex walked in she noticed Sam sitting at the table.

"Oh, hey, Sammy," Alex addressed her red-headed best friend.

"Hey, Alex," Sam said as she waved to her animal-loving best friend. "I'm guessing you could barely sleep too?"

Alex yawned, "Yep."

"Wanna join me?" Sam asked politely as she gestured for Alex to come sit at the table.

"Sure," Alex answered. She went over to the table and sat across from Sam.

"I could barely sleep at all last night." Alex said as she yawned again. "I couldn't stop thinking about what happened yesterday and what… you know… we did."

"I know, I couldn't stop thinking about that either," Sam said with a guilty look on her face.

The previous day, Sam and Alex had made the biggest mistake of their lives. One of their old adversaries, Geraldine Husk, had tricked Clover's new boyfriend Blaine into thinking that Clover was an evil spy and hired him to kill Clover. Fortunately, Jerry managed to set the record straight and prove to Blaine that he had been misled by his anonymous employer. But unfortunately, after that, Geraldine had tricked Sam and Alex into turning against their boy-crazy best friend by making them think that Clover plagiarized Sam's political science essay and borrowed Alex's car without asking and crashing it. To say that Sam and Alex didn't go easy on Clover because of those things would be an understatement. Not only that, but to make matters worse, Jerry had also accused Clover of stealing a WOOHP weapon before banishing her from the penthouse. Fortunately, after that, Sam, Alex and Jerry all managed to figure out that Clover was innocent and set up by Geraldine. Feeling undeniably guilty for how they treated their best friend, Sam and Alex went to rescue Clover after finding out that she went to take on Geraldine by herself and rescue Blaine. After saving Clover and Blaine and apprehending Geraldine, Sam and Alex thoroughly apologized to Clover for wrongly accusing her and letting Jerry banish her from the penthouse. Clover accepted their apology and the three friends happily made up.

But Sam and Alex still felt majorly guilty for how they acted. Alex, right now, looked like she was on the verge of a breakdown.

"Ugh! I can't believe we actually treated Clover like that!" Alex said in anguish.

"Shh, Alex, keep your voice down, you'll wake up, Clover," Sam said, barely above a whisper.

"Sorry, Sammy," Alex said, quieting down a little. "I just feel so stupid!

"I know, Alex," Sam agreed quietly. "How could we possibly be stupid enough to fall for planted evidence that easily? I can't believe I didn't consider that Clover doesn't even take political science. And even if she did, she's nowhere near the type to just leave a plagiarized essay on her desk for everybody to see!"

"Yeah, and how could I possibly think she'd leave any of her fashion accessories, let alone her purse in the front seat of a crashed car?!" Alex continued in an upset tone.

"Yeah," Sam said, still trying to be quiet but still sounding equally as upset. "And even if she did do those things, I'm sure she would have made it up to us. But we acted like she stabbed us in the back just for messing with our stuff!"

"We didn't just jump to conclusions," Alex continued speaking with anguish in her voice. "We completely overreacted. And now Clover's probably thinking we're horrible friends! Not to mention horrible spies!"

"Yeah, you're probably right, Alex," Sam agreed in a solemn voice. "I wouldn't be surprised if she wanted to leave the team for good. Not that I'd blame her."

Alex suddenly thought of something, "I have an idea."

"What idea, Alex?" Sam inquired with a raised eyebrow.

"Maybe we can't stop Clover from wanting to leave…" Alex started speaking. "But the least we can do is try to make it up to her. And who knows... maybe Clover won't want to leave if we show her we can still be great friends."

"Hmmm… you're right, Alex," Sam agreed with a smile. "But how do you propose we do that?"

"Hmmm…" Alex started thinking again. "I got it!"

"Got what, Alex?" Sam asked curiously.

"I know just the way to make it to Clover," Alex answered. "But first we'll have to call Jerry and have him clean up the rest of Geraldine's messes."

Sam wondered what Alex was talking about for a minute before catching on to Alex's plan.

"Oh, I get it, that is a good idea, Alex," Sam said in approval.

Alex got out her X-powder and contacted Jerry. His hologram appeared on the compact.

"Oh my, what a surprise, it's rare to be hearing from you girls so early," Jerry said in surprise.

"Sorry to disturb you, Jerr," Sam said apologetically.

"But we were wondering if you could help us with something?" Alex added.

"With what?" Jerry asked with a raised eyebrow.

Alex smirked, "A little something I'd like to call, Operation: Spy Friend Make-Up."

Later in the morning at 11:30 am, Sam and Alex had woken up Clover and were leading her into the city while she had a blindfold on.

"Where exactly are we going?" Clover asked.

"Ah ah ah, wait until we get there," Sam said as they continued walking.

Clover suddenly got nervous, "You're not gonna throw pillows at me again, are you?"

"No, Clover," Alex responded. "Trust me, you'll love it!"

As soon as the three girls arrived where they were going.

"And… tada!" Alex yanked the blindfold off of Clover.

What Clover saw made her gasp in happiness.

"My fave shoe boutique!" Clover said with a big smile. "It's back! It's not a crummy thrift shop any more!"

"And not just the boutique, Clover," Sam spoke.

"The Veg-out is back in business too and the spa is now back to being members only," Alex informed her blonde best friend.

Clover could hardly believe it, "But… how? I thought Geraldine…"

"We called Jerry last night and asked him to clean up the rest of Geraldine's messes," Alex explained. "And now we're going to take you for a fun day out!"

"We figured it was the best way to make it to you for…" Sam hesitated. "...what happened yesterday."

"And after we go in and look at shoes, eat at the veg-out and go get relaxing massages at the spa, we figured we could also go shopping at the Groove," Alex spoke up.

"That sounds like…" Clover was on the verge of exploding with happiness. "The best day ever!"

Clover gave her two best friends a big group hug.

"Thank you so much! This totally makes up for yesterday! You two are the best friends I've ever had!" Clover said, weeping with happiness.

Sam and Alex smiled at Clover. It seemed their plan to make it up to her was definitely working. All they had to do was get through their fun day without a hitch.

Later in the evening, Clover, Sam and Alex arrived back at their penthouse, their hands full of bags of clothes they had bought at the Groove. Their fun day out together did seem to have gone off without a hitch. Clover, Sam and Alex all put their bags down and sat on the couch.

"I gotta say, that was a really good day out," Sam commented happily.

"You said it, Sammy," Alex agreed.

"Thanks, girls," Clover said with a big smile on her face. "After the bad day I had yesterday, I really needed that."

"You're more than welcome, Clover," Sam said with a smile.

"Does that mean, you don't think we're horrible friends and you're not going to leave the team?" Alex said slightly absent-mindedly.

"Alex!" Sam hissed above a whisper.

"Wait, what?" Clover said in confusion. She got up and turned around to face her friends with an inquisitive look. "Why would you think I would leave you guys?"

"Well, you see…" Sam started speaking. "The main reason we took you out for a fun day today was because…"

"We still had the major guilties for how we treated you yesterday," Alex explained. "And we just felt like we had to make it up to you for exploding at you like that."

"Aw, girls, that's so sweet," Clover said. "But you really didn't have to…"

"You don't understand, Clover!" Sam interjected. "I absolutely had no right to act like that towards you just because my essay was left conveniently on your desk with your name on it!"

"And I had no right to completely jump the gun just because your purse was sitting conveniently in the front seat of my car!" Alex said, sounding upset.

"And to top it all off, when Jerry accused you of stealing that WOOHP weapon, we didn't even try to defend you!" Sam said. "We just stood there blankly and watched you get WOOHPed out of the penthouse!"

"We just felt like horrible friends, and we were worried that you wouldn't want to be friends with us anymore unless we did something about it," Alex explained.

Clover couldn't believe what she was hearing. She could tell that her friends were definitely guilty after what happened yesterday, but she never imagined that the guilt was eating away at them this much.

"Oh, Sammy… Alex…" Clover said with tears welling up in her eyes. "How could you ever think I wouldn't wanna be friends with you anymore? I mean, yeah, it did sting when you exploded at me over stuff I didn't do and didn't believe I was innocent, but I'm over it now. Really. Well, maybe not completely, but I do still wanna be friends with you two. For reals!"

"But how could you possibly forgive us that fast?" Sam asked in disbelief.

"Well, it's like this…" Clover started speaking. "After I found out that Geraldine was behind everything that happened to me yesterday and that she had taken Blaine hostage, I thought I was gonna have to go through the trouble of convincing both of you I was innocent. But I didn't, because you girls and Jerry figured out I was innocent on your own and came to my rescue when I needed you the most. I have absolutely no reason to be angry with you after that. Plus... I have done stupid things to you before. So, in a way... maybe I did deserve those outbursts just a little bit. And really… it's gonna take more than some stupid misunderstanding to ruin this friendship. You two are my best friends in the whole wide world. I wouldn't trade you in for anyone else."

Sam and Alex started tearing up and Clover's kind words.

"You really mean it?" Alex said in a choked up voice.

"Of course," Clover assured. "And another thing, I just recently forgave my boyfriend for mistakenly trying to kill me. If I can forgive him for that, I can certainly forgive two best friends for jumping to conclusions."

They started weeping before they lunged at Clover and gave her a big group hug.

"Clover… those are the kindest words you've ever said to us!" Alex said, crying tears of joy.

"We're so lucky to have a best friend like you!" Sam said in a choked up voice. "We promise, we'll always stand by your side no matter what!"

Clover was really happy to hear her friends say that.

"Thank you," Clover said as she too, cried tears of joy.

Suddenly, a new voice came into the room, "Have I come in at a bad time?"

As Clover, Sam and Alex parted from their group hug, Clover looked in excitement to see her boyfriend, Blaine.

"Blainey!" Clover exclaimed in happiness. She ran over and pulled her boyfriend into a big hug.

"Hey, Clover," Blaine said as he hugged her back. "Are you feeling better after yesterday?"

"More better than I've ever felt, Blainey," Clover said with a big smile. "But what are you doing here?! I thought Jerr sent you all the way to Australia!"

"Well, he was going to," Blaine said. "But Sam and Alex called him and asked him if he could let me stay for a few more days so I could spend time with you. He figured you deserved it after all you went through yesterday."

Clover looked back at Sam and Alex in disbelief.

"You guys got Blaine back here for me?!" Clover asked in surprise.

"Yeah, we figured you deserved one or two more dates with your boyfriend before Jerry sent him to Australia," Alex explained.

"We decided to have him surprise you," Sam added.

Clover started to tear up again.

"Awww… you guys," Clover said in a choked up voice. "I'm sure of it now. You two are my bestest friends in the whole wide world! Yesterday might have been the worst day of my life... but you made today the best day of my life!"

The three friends gathered in for another touching group hug. After they broke the hug, Clover turned to face Blaine.

"Well, Blainey, ready to spend some more time together?" Clover asked affectionately as she held out her left hand.

Blaine took it, "I sure am, beautiful."

With that, Clover and Blaine walked away from the penthouse hand in hand.

Sam and Alex looked on with big smiles on their faces.

"Well, I'd say Operation: Spy Friend Make-Up was a complete success, eh, Alex?" Sam spoke.

"No doubt about it, Sammy," Alex responded with a big smile.

Sam and Alex smiled as they continued to watch their best friend and her boyfriend walk off into the sunset.

The End?

AN: Looks like Clover's friends gave her the very awesome day she deserved after everything that's happened. So, what did you think? Feel free to give me your thoughts.
